These guys are really the best mechanics I have ever used. They were able to figure out what was wrong with one of my cars when other service shops had failed to figure it out. They are also honest and very considerate about discussing what needs to be fixed, what it will cost and what can wait if preferred. The are also friendly and kind. They always take the time to explain exactly what work they did and show the old parts without being asked so even those of us with a very basic understanding of their car can see and understand the work that was performed. Finally, their charges are very fair and at least half what the dealership would charge for the same work.

These guys are great. The honest neighborhood mechanic that’s a rarity today. Both Rick and Scott are super helpful, friendly, honest and won’t jerk you around like other mechanics might. Super lucky to have Peanuts in the neighborhood.

Expert and reasonably priced services with a warm and honest ambiance, Peanuts is the place I bring all my vehicles for repair and have my daughter and son do the same. Unlike the dealership where I feel as though they try to pad their bill, Peanuts will give you the straight scoop on what is needed now and what can wait. Updating my review, it was my second time visiting them, now with a broken wheel barrel. This is the best place to fix your car in San Diego. The guys love what they do, and they do it excellent. Im so grateful I found them.My original review from a year ago: I came here because of the good reviews, and they are all true. Stuff has plenty of knowledge, they are honest and stay true to their original quote. They explain to you what is wrong, show you what they plan to fix and do not try to add any hidden costs. A pleasure to deal with.

I brought my car in for an oil change and a new battery. I also had some questions about other maintenance items that another shop insisted that were necessary, but I felt were bogus. Peanuts looked things over for me and confirmed my suspicions! Thank you for being honest (and having an adorable shop dog).

Awesome place, great people.These guys went in depth to explain exactly what was wrong with my car, showed me the parts that needed to be replaced and explained why.They offered so much and even gave me a %10 discount on the car parts ordered. I wanted to have my car checked over before going on a long trip and I decided to take it here because of the good reviews. I called this morning and was able to take it in right away. Even though the shop was full, they were able to check my car and fix a few minor things that needed to be done. Rick was very helpful and friendly, and so was the cute shop dog. :) I felt like I could trust the guys at the shop to make sure my car is in great condition and I definitely have peace of mind for the trip Im about to take. ***One nice thing about the shop is its location. If you have to wait a little for your car, Lake Murray park is right across the street and so is a Starbucks - it made the wait fun and relaxing.

Peanuts is the best! They are honest and reliable. Ive had times when theyve told me I need to repair something right away, and also times when theyve told me theres no rush so Im not trying to come up with money for a repair that I dont really need yet. Theyre also really quick!

My Honda needed a new starter, but I had an appointment to get to that I couldnt cancel. I was completely floored when they loaned me one of their personal vehicles to go to their appointment so that they could fix my car and have it ready by the time the shop closed. Turns out they had to stay late to fix it, but I drove it home the same day that I brought it in. Awesome people, honest people, and they just gained a client for life! Make sure you bring some dog biscuits for the pups at the shop!

They are honest with you, and their good reliable service is top notch- with attention to detail and clear communication about possible problems you should be aware of. Didnt use his services, called for a quote on a radiator flush (read online to do it every summer o_o) and he said my 2014 Focus was too new, didnt need it unless there was an obvious problem or corrosion. Other places were giving quotes ready to take my money. This guy is genuine and should be praised for it.

When i thought there was no mechanic shop I could trust I found Peanuts Auto Repair, This place amazes me every time i go in. They always give it to me straight without a hassle. I have been taking my cars to Rick at Peanuts for almost four years now and have referred them to countless friends. My recommendation isnt that they are the cheapest or by way far the most expensive,, but that they are reasonable, honest, and will always complete the job for their original quote. They arent looking to stick you with a big bill, but run the business so that their customers are loyal. Thats why theyve been in business for so long. Oh yea and their name too! Peanuts! Oh and the reason Im only giving 4 stars today? Well I need my regular oil change and he is on vacay. He has spoiled my car and she is on a definite schedule and I may have to try and handle this on my own....

This place is awesome! My 71 bus broke down a couple blocks away never expecting such service. Technician came to my car to troubleshoot. Owner lent me the jack and tools necessary to complete the job! GRADE A+!

Seem honest and competent. Ive taken my car there a couple times, and theyve been honest when its something they cant do and helpful when they can. My check engine light was on, and I got out of there for $40 (when does that ever happen?) I was worried because I have a TDI, but he seemed to know what he was doing.

I have had VWs on and off for the past 15 years. I have always taken them to Peanuts. They are competent, honest, and very reasonable. I recently found out that they also work on Ford vehicles. I have seen Toyota, Honda, and Hyundai vehicles there as well. I would not take my VW Bug anywhere else. They are the best!

I have had my VW van serviced there for years & they have always been courteous, knowledgeable, great at repairs & the price is fair. Always satisfied.

Such a shame we didnt have the same experience as other people did here. He agreed to fix the oil leak on my dads car for 200. Had to return twice and charged him money on top of that to top off the oil that has leaked(would need to top off the oil if he had fixed it the first time).Anyways, so then after that he told me he needed more money that it would be 285$ over the phone. When my dad went in person he tried gettinf 385$ p.o.s if i had gone that morning he would have heard me. Ended up taking the car to have someone else fix it.Its sad because a friend recomended this place. Will have to see i i can take him to small claims, report to BBB and post on all social media outlets.

This place is amazing! They had my 2005 VW convertible repaired before I could run an errand and get home. They are very honest and will not rip you off or perform any repairs that are not necessary. If you have a VW, this is the place to take it for anything you need in the way of repairs. I have seen other vehicles in their lot, but I have only taken my VW there. Yes, yes, yes. It is the best!

I found stacey and affordable care on yelp and was really happy to find out that they had really great customer service and took great care of me and my car. The second time i went back I received education on the car i bought and it makes it easy taking my car to stacey any time i have a problem. I strongly recommend stacey and his staff if you have a car problems and live in hollywood.

I have been a faithful and happy customer with Peanuts Auto Repair since they first started in the 70s. I had two VWs (a 57 and a 69 - the 57 was stolen) and they were and are the only repair facility I would allow to touch my vehicles. In NM, I must do all the maintenance myself and miss Peanuts very much. I still have the 69 VW that Peanuts rebuilt in 1994. In 2012, it blew a seal. Piedra Motors, the repair facility in Pagosa Springs Colo. were both dishonest and disreputable. I became so frustrated with them I had them do nothing more than R & Rl the engine and had them ship it to Peanuts for a complete rebuild. Freight was expensive but the results were worth every penny. I know that engine was rebuilt correctly and would still be a loyal and faithful customer of theirs were I not living 1,100 miles away.

They are wonderful especially with VWs. Very knowledgeable & great craftsmanship.
