I would not recommend to have work done at rapid, I had a full rebuild, $2300, 2 weeks later, had to have it towed back, all fluid blew out on highway, 3 more times had to take it back for major repairs, it has only 7000 miles on a new rebuild and warranty is 12month/ 12000 miles, its past 12 months now so rapid will not honor any more repairs to my transmission, is this how they do business ? Rapid put the blame on me for trans damages, what ? !!! and my trans still has problems, I asked the tech their how long will a rebuilt transmission from rapid last before needing repairs, he said 30000 miles, I said what!!! Stay away from rapid transmissions, my other ford, I had the rebuild done by ford, it lasted 145000 miles and still going, no problems, negative review to rapid transmissions,

Dropped off the vehicle (2011 Jeep Wrangler w/ 47,500 miles) for a small transmission fluid leak since I had a long road trip ahead. They had to remove the transmission(not a cheap job) while transmission was out they noticed my clutch was worn so I decided to let them replace it since the transmission was out. Long story short I’m in Chicago now a week later and my transmission is leaking lleven more than before to the point I’m afraid to even drive it to the next shop to get it looked at. Can’t even do nothing about their “bring it back to the shop and we’ll take care of it warranty”TRASH! I read great reviews on here that’s why I trusted them.Spend your hard earned money somewhere else!

Gave me an honest diagnosis even though they didnt make any money.

Rebuilt the C6 out of my 84 f250, I dropped it off and within a week it was already done, and fairly reasonanly priced aswell considering how bad off the trans was before. Defintiely would reccomend their services!

I went to this shop today to get a quote for a new tranmission rebuild and the owner told me the price and then told me it would be better to go to the junk yard and get one and said he would do it for $500-$600 for the labor, and I asked if he would be able to give me a more precise quote and he Said “NO YOUR FREAKIN NUTS NO I CANT GIVE YOU THAT” and told me to leave! I was very polite and really have no idea why he was so rude... After that I told him WOW you have great customer service, because I was shocked at his level of unprofessionalism to which he said you see all these cars here I don’t need your business.

They replaced a transmission for me 12 months ago. It still works perfectly.

The mechanics are quick to complete the necessary work. You will get regular phone calls appraising you regarding the progress on your car. They will finish on time and you will be informed along the way. Reasonable pricing!

I took my Toyota Solara to this transmission shop. I was convinced there is something wrong with the transmission. They thoroughly gave it the once over. And told me to my surprise, there was nothing wrong with the transmission. They could’ve taken me to the cleaners. But they were very honest with me. The transmission on my Saturn Vue was failing. The local Chevy dealership let me know the parts were no longer available for the transmission and I would have to buy a fully rebuilt one. I went over to Rapid Transmissions and they did a search and found the parts needed to rebuild my transmission. The parts came in from Washington State they got it installed and done perfectly. Have put at least 50,000 miles on the car since they worked on it and theres been no problems

They do good work and kept me updated on the status of my repairs.

I was called by the head of this particular location and decided not to respond based on my opinion that a breach of trust cannot be mended. However the owner of the business noticed the review and tried to contact me the next day over yelp, and honestly I would have ignored him as well if he would have approached the normal way business owners do when their goal is to remove a complaint.He made no mention of removing it during our text messages or phone call, instead his goal was to find what went wrong within the companys procedures and correct them so this doesnt happen in the future. He explained what proactive steps were being taken, to adjust procedure and I can comfortably say I doubt anything like this will occur in the future with myself or other customers.Now Im not taking back anything in my first review it was a deal broken, but how many folks that own an auto shop will tell you your taking back the money because the job wasnt done as asked or he will credit it on the next stop to get work done. Its extremely rare considering its 1200 dollars and they would effectively be fronting the bill for 3 new parts plus labor. And remember removing or changing the review was never requested or hinted at, at all.That said the owner of the company being that attentive in the operation of his business changes my opinion greatly. Building a business, training a crew to follow procedure, then refining said procedures to cover all forsee able hazards or issues is hard as nails. Its never an over night or even in the first few years thing, its a constant learning process. I believe the fact that the owner is so attentive and proactive in changing things for the better, this is a solid sign that the company will continously get better and better. Also importantly for the customers if you can show there was an error in their handling or communication that led to you not getting what you requested they wont just take your money and leave you behind, the owner of the business himself will address it.So given this new information and insight into how the company is operated Id feel comfortable recommending anyone to give them a shot, because they dont just flaunt their successes, but most importantly they own their failures, learn from them, and make them up if the customer is willing. I dont need to stress how rare that is.

My repairs done by Mark and his staff at Rapid Transmission were outstanding, everything was explained prior to work being done and work performed was in a timely manner. Ive since decided to bring my other vehicles here for their transmission servicing and will recommend this shop to anyone for service or repairs to their vehicle. Thank you Rapid Transmission

They are good, honest people who will take care of you and your vehicle.*Now my story:The dreaded check engine light came on....so I took my car in to my usual auto mechanic shop for a diagnostic. I was informed that a couple of the codes that popped up were transmission codes so I was referred to Rapid Transmission as my usual auto shop doesnt do transmission work. So off to Rapid Transmission I went. Nino greeted me as soon as I walked in and asked how he could help so I told him all of the above and provided him with a copy of what my mechanic shop found. Nino asked if I felt or heard anything unusual with the way the car ran, I answered, and then asked if I could leave my car with him for about half the day so they could do their thing. I obliged, I went home, and I waited for the call that would tell me I needed to pay thousands of dollars to get my car fixed. The call came. It was Nino but rather than telling me Id have to clean out my savings account to keep my car running, he said there was nothing wrong with my transmission at all. The codes my mechanic shop were getting were codes that can be mistaken for transmission codes. I was so relieved and then I was SO grateful that Nino was honest about there not being anything wrong with my transmission. I dont know cars...he very easily could have told me something was wrong with my car and I would have believed it because my other shop said there was and he could have solidified that story and made some extra cash at my expense but he didnt. They didnt even charge me for the diagnostic they ran.In addition, a friend of mine had transmission work done on his truck at Rapid Transmission and they did a really good job! The truck runs like a champ!*Bottom line: if you have transmission issues or even THINK you have transmission issues, take your car to Rapid Transmission. They are good, honest people who will take care of you and your vehicle.*
