They are amazing! Just getting into biking, so I have tons of questions. They help me select the bike, had it shipped to the store, called me promptly when it arrived. When I went to pick up today Travis help me select an appropriate car rack and bike lock. He also told me about various classes that they offer to learn more about maintenance and care of my bike. Customer service is excellent, though sometimes you have to wait a little bit. overall, a great experience and theyve earned a customer for life.

These guys are super helpful and I found their pricing to be very good. I am just getting back into riding and was looking for a comfort bike... not a big purchase by comparison to some of the great road and mountain bikes they have. Still, I was impressed that the level of service was very good considering I was spending less than $400. This place has a local shop feel even though they are part of a large chain. I live in La mesa, and I am looking forward to taking advantage of the free adjustments that came with my purchase.

Most of the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Great selection of products, and everything is on sale for unfortunately they are going out of business. One of their staff took a long time to make sure we had what we wanted, and never seemed bothered we kept him for a while.

Every time we receive professional and quick service at bargain prices. Everyone I know comes here for their bike maintenance and repairs and we live 7 miles from their location. So worth the drive for great customer service. And their showroom and offerings of bike related accessories are impressive.

Took my client to get her bike she purchased at the thrift store repaired and was told she needed a new wheel but it had to be ordered. The guys were able to make the bike rideable until the wheel comes in. I had asked their opinion as to the amount of work needed to be put it because it was looking kind of rusty and they were nice enough to lube and spruce it up for her at no charge.

Bicycle maintenance class is super!These guys are so nice and very knowledgeable. This place has many different bike riding merchandise and pretty nice looking bikes! One of our parents that came along to the class ended up buying a brand new bike that day. Another parent got her bike fixed that night too. They did an excellent job on that. We learned a lot from the class and they treated us all very good. Will absolutely be going back for the advanced bicycle maintenance class and definitely be promoting this shop to our church group and anyone who is looking for a bicycle shop. This bike shop used to be the place to go, but ever since the dispensary opened next door... This dispensary brings in all sorts of people you dont want in the area. They park in Performance Bicycles private parking lot and, apart from people sitting there smoking weed while little kids go on rides in the parking lot to test their new bikes, two cars have already been hit and damaged, another car had a license plate ripped off, the sign for the bike shops parking lot has been vandalized and the other one was stolen.This bike shop used to be a family friendly place, but now I make sure to find street parking and not take my kids as often as I did!On the plus side -for the dispensary customers- I had a friend who went in there with an expired Doctors Note and they still sold him weed!

To me this is a good accessories shop. Their specials are good on their name brand if you dont mind promoting the performance brand you can get items at great prices.

First time coming in to this store with my husband hoping to buy a mountain bike and we get the worst service ever. One no one greeted us at the entrance even tho many of the employees were standing right there, looked around and he found a bike. willing to spend 4k today and not one person came to help us the 30 minutes we were there. Then we looked around the shop a little more and still no one came to offer us help. As we were leaving one guy had the urge to say goodbye come back soon. Never going back took my business somewhere else.

Very helpful guys. Some serious bike nerds in there, theyll hook you up with whatever you need. They phoned all the bikeshops for us in the vicinity so we could get a headset replaced as soon as possible while we were on a roadtrip. Also tried their best to align my friends half broken derailleur, but did not charge us a penny since they couldnt get it perfect.

The shop refused to issue me a ticket to leave my bike for a free basic tune-up. They said that I didn’t need one. Which is true when Mike the main mechanic is involved? I left my name and number on a piece of paper and they said Mike would call me or I could call him in the morning. When I called to see if it was ready they had no Idea which bike was mine. After I described it they said there was no ticket for the bike that they didn’t know what the bike was in the shop for. I spoke to the Operations Manager that said he would look into it and call me back. He called and left a message saying that he adjusted the rear derailleur but didnt know why the bike was in the shop. I called back and reminded him that I had just told him that it was in for a tune up. He called me the next day and said the bike was ready. I showed up and the rear wheel was rubbing against the rear brake pad and wouldn’t completely spin. The same employee who initially refused to give me a ticket and was off the clock grabbed an allen wrench and started adjusting the brake pad with no concern if the rear wheel was true or not.Buyers beware, the head mechanic Mike is an expert but his time is limited. The Bike is FUJI cyclocross 1.0 and Im very happy with both the bike and the main Mechanic Mike. Everyone else in my opinion is simply milking the clock.Oh and after 6 days I still don’t have my bike. Ive contacted the corporate office with email, # and addy with no reply.

Performance Bike smells like a bike shop. It has old carpet with grease stains from various bikes being brought in and out. You can smell the parts in the air, and you can usually hear the sounds of bikes being worked on in the back. Usually when you need help, someone with grease covering their knuckles will come out and ask how you can be helped. And this is why it is the best bike shop to goto. I dont need polo shirts and hardwork floors to get stuff for my bike. I need someone who is going to tell me what I should get a why. And actually have first hand knowledge on the product/service they are selling!My bike had a bend front derailer and my rear cassette was mostly stripped out. I had gone through about 6 chains and decided something more drastic needed to be done. I took it to Trek ( as my bike is a Trek ) and they basically told me to throw away what I had and buy a new bike, as to repair it would be 400-500 bucks and I could get a better bike for that price.I decide to run over the Performance bike down the street to see what they can do. I present them with the problem ( didnt mention what the trek store said ). They replaced my rear cassette and front gears (with upgrades no less!) and installed them for 125 bucks! Not only that, they installed them on the spot. I had my bike up and running in about an hour!Customer for life!

My experience with performance is good, it is different every time, it really depends on the person that help you, you can get good or bad help so far this store has been OK.
