Good service, there are many positions to shoot, pistols are quite many and varied, but long guns are too few, there is only one kind of pity for 1 long gun lover like me! But if you do like pistols but still do not own a gun, come here to choose a gun to shoot is worth a try, the gun I chose to shoot it is really strong. I feel like the location charge seems a bit high! Last words I feel this is very OK worth your visit and experience!
First time visit was great. Open lanes. Quick and easy experience. Employees were very kind, and happy to help. Im Satisfied with visit. Would like to visit a few times to give this place a 5 stars.Lanes are a bit dark. Wasnt a big deal for me, bit worth noting for others. Sadly, 9mm ammo was out of stock at the time of my visit. I was willing to pay, so I wouldnt have to use some of my reserves.I am happy nonetheless! Went to get some practice in, and my goals were met.
Took my mom today to shoot because we have always wanted to go shoot a gun. Thought it wasnt to bad from online prices on there website. $35 for 2 people an hour & $15 to rent the gun. Well we shot 50 rounds each for 2 different guns & the price came out to $159.02. After getting home I find out that a box of 50 9mm cost $8.99 yet they charged me $44 & $35 for the box my mom used. Crazy I will NEVER go back to this place again! What I thought would be an inexpensive outing with my mom turned into me spending over $150 to shoot for about 35 minutes. STAY AWAY!!
One of the only indoor ranges in the area. They DO NOT allow aluminum-cased ammunition. Was not aware of this rule and had the opportunity to support this business by purchasing ammunition at a 100% mark up.They also dont accept credit card purchases under $20.Not welcoming to new shooters which is not what the 2A community needs.I guess in the end theyre doing gun owners a favor by simply existing. Or thats what the owner told me when I expressed dissatisfaction over his lack of professionalism. Will probably be back because practice is important. Just sucks the gate is being guarded by a troll.
The La Puente Firing Range is great. The owner and staff are amazingly knowledgeable and will take time to answer any questions you may have. They have a good selection of handguns to rent and the prices are very reasonable. They keep everything clean and are open later than most other ranges in the area.
I went in with my wife and they refused both of us because we didn’t have a in state drivers license. I had a Arizona drivers license and my wife had her passport and they refused both. Since when did you need a in state drivers license to shoot a gun? Went to another city over found another gun range took both form of IDs no issue. I wish I could rate this gun range zero stars.
Great customer service. Will definitely return.
Cool spot but they nickel and dime you for everything they canThe owner started enforcing some policy of no p80s (which I dont own) but now feels the need to check my weapons, even though Im a member...Make sure to watch your 1 hour mark. It starts when you sign in and they charge by the 15 mins. So if you need to clean up and run out of time, just leave it or you will be chargedBring cash! Anything under 20 dollars must be cash only
Was taught how to use a 9mm from the “for rent” guns. Bought bullets $30ish which came with plenty of bullets around 60 I believe. Rented a booth for 2 people. We were compete beginners. Had a wonderful time. Paid $80. Will Forsure comeback. Keep up the amazing work guys!!! I recommend. 11/22/2020 4 stars.UPDATE: 01/ 05/2021. Returned a couple months later to rent a lane.. people at the counter seemed not to be having a good day. Was rudely ignored a couple times & given bad looks when I asked a question, just wanted to buy bullets and pay for my lane. Chunky guy at the counter seemed to not be having a good day! This is a really nice place but the staff at the counter ruined it for me. Will not be coming back. Owner needs to check his staff! There are more ranges in the area with way nicer staff who actually make you feel welcomed. Highly recommend those places over this one.
Clean. Courteous. $20 p/h. Per person. Totally satisfied.
Wasn’t busy when I arrived. Only reason I didn’t give this place 5 stars is because you are only allowed to shoot handguns.Revised review. Business promotes masks and social distancing. -2 stars
Cheap and not crowded, was 18/hr
Went there to teach my Daughter how to fire pistols for the first time and had a great time. Very happy with how nice the employees were. I will definitely return.
Great place to shoot ... helpful staff and great rentals
Friendly and knowledgeable guys here ready to answer any questions. Joe and the rest of the staff made me and my friends want to come back and continue to learn. Best and thank you to you all. I would definitely recommend this range to anyone.
Before I came down here today to break in a new firearm I read the reviews and was a little concerned because some of them weren’t good. I don’t know what the heck everybody’s talking about. The majority of the people give it five stars as do I. The place was clean, the employees and the owner extremely friendly and helpful and It was very inexpensive. I think the majority of the bad reviews are from people that don’t have a clue regarding what they should bring or how a firing range works. I brought My own ear and eye protection, my own approved ammunition, my own firearm and I only needed one target and it was about five bucks. I will be back!
I took my friend that has special needs and it was great he had fun
Great service and the employees are very helpful. They have a range of handguns that can be rented, from semi-automatic to revolvers. The range itself is also climate controlled, so you can easily spend hours there (they charge by the hour though so watch out!!). There is also a large seating area with lots of couches for when you or your friends need to take a break.
The owner is friendly and he like to share his experience owning this place, good place to practice, people complains about the price, but LA Gun club is just as expensive, $20 for 1 hour sounds acceptable. I recommended. Membership is $350 a year.
I went for a novice lesson with some friends. We had a great time, even hit the bullseye a few times. I think we will be going back.
This has become my favorite gun range. I come here after dinner to unwind after a long day at work. The staff are different from how I remembered back more than 10 yrs ago. Back then they treat you like they are doing you a favor by taking your money, the present staff are courteous and professional. Ask for Joseph, he is very helpful and always with a smile.
Cool place. Have rentals for everything, or you can bring all your own stuff. Only thing is if you bring your own posters, I think they have to be 18×24. The posters are the only thing I buy. Lanes are $20/hr.
Good place,friendly staff
Its okay i dont like the idea that they charge per hour most ranges just charge per lane here you kinda want to get a quick session and go other wise you pay an arm and leg
After we check in and had all of our targets approved and began shooting, the range master sent and employee to tell us we couldnt use one set of targets because they were two inches too short in one direction. Okay, so we switched a different set to pre-approved targets. A few minutes later the range master sent the same employee to say we couldnt use the color changing targets either. Now they arent prohibited by the published range rules, were also approved by the employee when we came in, and they sell the exact same targets for use on the range. We are pretty irritated at this point, but switch to a 3rd set of plain black and white full sized zombie targets. The employee comes back and says the range master says we cant use those either. He cant give us a reason or even look us in the eyes. We buy some targets and are finally allowed to shoot in peace, but as we do we notice that there are bullet holes in ALL of the walls, the ceiling, and the range dividers. We should have listened to the federal officer who told us not to use this range because of the range master. He came in because he was offered a discount for law enforcement, but when he went to check out he was told that he was the wrong kind of law enforcement officer and didnt qualify of the discount. Apparently the range master was very disrespectful to him. Today the range master wont speak to us at all and just kept sending that same poor employee to pick his pointless fight for him. The only way we would ever return is if they replace the range master and guarantee that no one will be shooting in any direction other than down range.
Friendly staff and clean facility
A good place to learn to start shooting. Just go and have fun. It has good membership options as well. And the hours of operation are also very good.
Great place. Really nice people.
Staff was friendly and the range was clean but they dont allow aluminum ammunition, which is my prime range ammo. Their ammo is enormously overpriced and not at all worth it, wont be returning.
Disappointed!!, Very close to home yet so far. They are leaches here I was shooting alone for the whole hour they will charge you an extra 15 min if you go over 1 to 5 min over, . I was cleaning my area picking up empty shells before I packed to leave. They Start clocking you as soon as you sign the form. So make sure are ready to go and shoot right away, they need every penny I guess. I dont think ill go back again and i will not recommend it any more. I was a regular until tonight.
Friendly staff, clean functioning building. Was a little worried about it being right next to some ghetto ass areas, but it is actually a nice building. This place definitely does not deserve all the hate its getting from these reviews. Every place has rules, its not difficult to follow them. If you dont want to pay a lot for ammo, then bring your own. Its pretty simple stuff, people.
Excellent service from staff. Friendly and very helpful. Decent prices, the service and knowledge makes it worth every penny
They never told me they charge per hour and charge for eye pro. Then got stuck with an $80 bill. WACK
Super polite workers happy to help anyone unfamiliar with firearms. Does get pricey if youre renting/buying everything from them though. I usually bring a personal gun and buy ammo elsewhere, but pay for the target & lane. Comes out to less than 50 at the range + whatever you spend on ammo
Was not too happy about them letting a mom drop off a mini van full of 14-16 year olds with their own guns. Whom just walked right in and were allowed to start shooting. Unsafe firearm handling was reported to the guys working the front desk whom just said oh ok, thanks.
Terrible place. The owner does not care the customer is new or not. There are so many newbie doing terrible things. I will never come again
The facility is descent. Clean and spacious. I live really close to it so decided to give it a try. Its way more expensive than my usual place in Orange County. And they wont let you shoot Aluminum ammo and you have to buy their store targets. Did not like that at all. Wont go back again.
Great range! Wish there was more light inside. Memberships available at a decent price if you plan on coming often.
Difficult place to shoot. No staff manages inside the range area, so theres a lot of screwing around, foul language and distraction. Most of the time beginners are doing unsafe loading practices or aiming the gun anywhere but down range.
Reasonable prices for a lane. Not sure what it costs to use one of their guns. Decent selection of targets to choose from.
Strict rules but chill enviroment. $40 per hour, but we had 3 shooters so not bad. Plus side is theyre open from 11-11 daily
I was leery of going to this range because of the reviews I was reading - but I decided to give it a try because its a good location for me and I have most of my own stuff.A common trend I saw in the comments was that the staff was abrasive, the prices were exorbitant and theyd nit-pick your personal equipment to make you buy their own.Let me address those in order:Treat others the way you want to be treated - I found the staff to be perfectly amicable. My guns, ammo, and mags were quickly checked over but it wasnt anything out of the ordinary. The paper targets Id brought were too small for their regulation - I didnt really understand that, but for 75 cents a paper youre not breaking the bank to just use their targets. Lastly, id forgotten my ear plugs and they charged me another 75 cents for the ear-pro. I can see how one might feel like the little charges were just adding up. But honestly - it was an extra 3 dollars. I have single rounds worth more.
It was alright. relay run down . antique ventilation system dosent work at all. not even a breeze moving in the range .
Well the staff is very selfish with the air conditionerInside the range it was 85 Impossible to shoot comfortable. To hot 😡😨 to enjoy If you want to go shooting at this range think twice. Also the staff are like robots no personality BLAH👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽
Ok place. Its old and run down. Certainly no frills. Pricey. Oh how I miss Santa Anita Range in Monrovia.
Good place! But I like field places, I just moved here 1 year, who knows it in LA? The nearest field firing Range?
Its close to my home and work, I love this range I come all the time
This place is pretty cool my friend and I came here in a friday we were the first ones here people started showing up as the hour went by but for a little over an hour of shooting and 2 targets it ran is less than $40......well worth it..
My first experience at this range was fine. My second trip was today and I wont be back. The manager decided for no reason that we couldnt use the targets we brought even those meeting their own posted policy. He wouldnt even come to the desk and discuss it with my husband after having his poor staff member come and interrupt us on the range twice. He was apparently too busy stuffing his face. He wasted a good part of our paid range time and even his staff could not explain why he singled out our party or why our targets were not acceptable. We spent nearly $200 in ammo and range time for our party today. We shoot regularly but next time we will take our business elsewhere. Too bad a jerk manager who was too concerned with making a couple more dollars will cost this business hundreds in repeat business.
Gr8 range different areas to shoot from.
BEWARE : They DO NOT know CA gun laws. I was told I could not shoot there because I was from out of state. I have a membership at another Southern California range, and regularly shoot at: Insight, Burro Canyon, Angeles shooting range, FT3 and other on occasion. ALL with my AZ ID. They specifically told me it was ILLEGAL to shoot there without possessing a CA drivers license. If they dont know who can and can shoot at their facility I would question them on their knowledge of any CA gun laws. The man I spoke with wouldnt even listen to what I had to say about the other ranges. Every range in CA needs to support our rights in every way possible, not stop American citizens from enjoying a constitutional freedom. I hope you guys get your act together, not knowing guns laws is why so much has been taken from CA already.
The staff is really friendly answers any questions you have.
Great place (indoor shooting) they r open late
From what Ive seen it isnt busy to the point where you have to wait. Prices are decent, but overall its a good place to practice some shooting.
Friendly staff, good selection of rentals 10/10 would come shoot again
Decent place. Nothing to compare it to though since it was my first time at an indoor range. My buddy seemed content with the pricing.
Ill NEVER come back to this place. Overpriced and too many restrictions and by restrictions i mean they scam you to make you spend more money on their overpriced gear. I brought all my own gear to save me some money (my own gun, 2 boxes of .38 ammo; a box of Federal and a box of Winchester, some eyes, ears, and targets) I felt like I was being interrogated as this guy was rifling through by shooting bag and telling me you cant bring in this, or that, or this.... (Dude, its my shooting bag and of course Im going to have random calibers of ammo in there. Hello... ITS A SHOOTING BAG!!! I happened to have old boxs of leftover 12 gauge slugs and 30-06s in my bag.. Because its my shooting bag and thats just the sh** I have in there... Besides Im only here to shoot my .38... What the hell am I going to do?) Just ridiculous!!! I was told I couldnt use my Federal box of ammo because they didnt allow it. Meanwhile they sell that same exact brand for the same exact caliber, hmmmm. I can understand an ammo restriction if youre shooting with one of their rentals but this was with my OWN gun. And I couldnt use my own targets because there was a dimension requirement. Also, they sell reloads at a higher price than the name brands. This place is VERY overpriced, courtesy towards customers is none existent. Save yourself the hassle and the money and go somewhere else!!
Convenient.. one of the remaining if not the only remaining firing range left in SGV.
Second time coming here.Staff was really helpful.Overall good experience will be back.
Decent place, not too busy. Looking at their prices for ammunition I may need to start reloading
I won’t be going here, just reading all the negative range master stuff. Sounds like he’s a jerk. Who’s got time for that, what a shame.
Came here was a bit worried after reading all the negative comments but was happy I did price was great and the staff was friendly
Besides there reviews I personally thought it is great place to shoot my gun. prize is ok. service is great.
Great place for Chinese families since the owner can instruct you in Chinese.
Always been a good range . Thinking about going back again soon.
A little high in price, but its a convenient location.
Range! Very nice, in oldtown old valley area close to the sheriff department
Been going here since i was a kid.
Half star, guns jammed with the Glock 19 on 3 different occasions employee told owner owner walks by me and said user error (3 times) traded the gun new gun also jammed, employee said he didnt see anything wrong with it, they charged me the time they spent looking at the gun! SMH!!!
Staff is great & met some nice shooters, including a guy who competes with a nice 1911 45ACP at 50 yards, and EVERY SHOT was dead center!! Most handguns & 22LR rifles are ok. I shoot my XD9 & GSG-AK47 in 22LR, which is very fun & popular at the ranges! Mine is only the 2nd one the manager has ever seen. ;)Only complaint after 3 visits is the lane price (currently $20/hr if you bring everything else), but theyre open later than other indoor ranges. Sooo... you want/need to shoot, you pay. 😉Tip: Cops, other LEOs & CCW Permit holders who need to drill may want to buy an annual membership. Come & go whenever theyre open, no min/max time limits, the membership is the way to go if youll use it. $300/yr for LEOs & military vets, $350/yr for everyone else.Oh, and theyre very lax on ammo you bring... just no exposed lead. CA environmental laws to follow, ya know?!?
Nice range, really tidy, decent selection of firearm rentals
The staff are nice people, the guns are low price but the ammo is pretty expensive.Still a good place overall.
Good firing range for handguns, usually not that packed
READ ME AND BE FOREWARNED. YOU are being lied to! Heres MY story: About a year ago, I went to LPFR for the first time in a while and didnt bring enough ammunition for my .45 with me. No biggie, ill just buy more... The price was 27.99 for a MAGTECH ammo box of 50! (Regularly MUCH cheaper) Not wanting to go back to turners, i took the box which was handed to me without cardboard sleeve and didnt think anything of it until we started shooting. I noticed that the primers were marked, unlike factory ammo. Outraged, i asked if i was just sold RELOADS and was met with: OH NO! WE dont do that! Its too dangerous... one grain over and things explode which is somewhat true... i carried on and was told they would NEVER sell reloads... actually the owner was very annoyed by my inquiry. I paid and left... FLASH FORWARD a week later: Its 6pm and a friend and i go to test out a new gun... as we are walking in, the room which is on your left of the entrance was lit up and inside I saw a FULL reloading station and all the dies necessary to reload common calibers!! Looks like theyre taking spent cases, re necking, re finishing and re loading them and selling them at ABOVEA RETAIL... guess what? You gotta use THEIR ammo to shoot a rental... hmmmmm
Little pricey we went through two boxes of amo in 35 minutes so we will bring our own next time an they dont have an auto loader other than that staff was nice n helpful plenty of lanes available we had a great time
This place close to my house
Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Pricing isnt bad on range time, targets, etc.
Good experience.. and fast servive..
Good range, but a bit on the expensive side. Extended hours is convenient.
One of my favorite places to be on my day off
We were charged a $70 lane fee for 1hr and 15min. The pricing structure was ridiculous
Best range in town!
Nice place organized, and helpful staff
Could we play AR15 here?
