I paid for brake service. Shortly after leaving, my car began to stall and my engine light came on. I immediately returned to the shop. I was told my brake light sensor was broken. My receipt shows “replaced brake light switch”. My brakes were still “spongy” and I drove it like this for 2-3 weeks thinking it was something that would go away. It didn’t. I returned, he said the pedal needed an adjustment and adjusted it at no charge. One week later, my brake lights won’t go off and my battery is constantly draining.

Was in town for baseball and hung up a plastic splash shield under my engine and pulled it loose. The push pins were missing so I couldnt put the panel back in place myself. I bought some push pins at an auto parts store that were somewhat close to right, but the car sits so low I struggled to see well enough get it all aligned and secured.The plastic splash shield would catch whenever I backed up, so I needed a fix quick. We saw Sons Auto Repair nearby and he was open on Saturday morning, so I pulled in. I explained what the issue was and showed him the pins I had bought. Those pins I had bought were really somewhat wrong for this application and were really for interior door panels. Fortunately Son had the right pins.He put the car on the lift and got everything back to right quickly. I both agreed that $20 fair for his time and 6 pins. Very fair, friendly and competent. Good guy.

I was quoted $1100 just for the labor to DIAGNOSE my ongoing A/C issues at another shop who shall remain nameless.I brought the car here and within 2 hours got a call that they knew exactly what is wrong, and whether I wanted to pick it up by the end of the day.I was expecting something high, $1000 at least, but fixed the problem for about 400 bucks. Had my car by the end of the day and the A/C is COOOOOLD BABY! Im currently *CHILLIN* in my car.If you want a straight forward shop who wont try to shake you down, go to Son Auto Repair, SON.

We were passing through Lafayette pulling our trailer and our ac broke down. We were told by auto part place that it was the compressor and it would cost us $700 to $900. We fortunately found Son and he dropped what he was doing and fixed it immediately. It wasn’t the compressor and it only cost us $250. Very honest and reliable. Thank you Son!

I called Son at 3:50 on a Saturday, he closes at 4. I was broke down in Lafayette and trying to get home to New Orleans. The radiator on my car busted. He gave me a number to a tow truck service and I had my car towed to his shop. He stayed until 7:30pm and was able to get my car repaired. It was very reasonable and done with great care. Highly recommend him and his shop.

Son was able to find and fix my idling issue that two previous local mechanics had already misdiagnosed and been unable to fix. In the 5 months weve been using Sons shop, hes fixed our idle sensor, motor mount, tire bearing, replaced our oil pan and done the oil changes, transmission flush, and replaced a broken light. My Subaru XV Crosstrek has high mileage and needed a wheel hub bearing assembly replacement. Ive been to winwood fournets a lot and they take care of me there, but this time I couldnt make it back because the damage was SO SEVERE. I was over at advance auto parts and searched around the immediate area (not too far to drive) to get pricing and read a bunch of reviews of these said shops... and I didnt feel like either; the techs were competent enough or reliable/honest enough to service my needs. I eventually landed on this GEM and boy am I glad I had a problem that day. This wonderful human being understood the predicament I was in and gave me his best price and boy was I shocked (in a good way)! The price was unbelievable. I brought it here and was able to get in and out faster than I could walk around the block! The price was so good I had to ask what his normal rate was because he did an amazing job. Once again, shocked I was - I thought the guy gave me at least $25-$50 off his normal pricing, but the discount was only about $10!!!!!! Yall.... my jaw dropped. I cannot believe how reasonably priced, friendly, personable, attentive and SKILLED this man is. You can bet I will keep bringing my vehicle here and guarantee you wont be sorry either. I love that hes open until 6PM and also on Saturdays.
