Had ADT for a year. I was verbally told I signed a 1 year contract. I called to cancel after the year due to a better price with a different company. I was told I signed a 36 month contract and that I would have to pay 75% of that to get out of it. I had a copy of the contract emailed to me, and sure enough, in 10pt font in one corner of the 9 page document, it states 36 as the term length. 75% cancellation on a service that isnt even going to be plugged in or used is highway robbery. I do not recommend ADT.
Absolutely hate this company consistently knocking on my door while Im working from home. This is 2021, if im interested in getting an alarm system from you I will call you.
I was given false info from the person who sold and installed the system. He sad batteries where replaced by ADT at no charge. When I called about a low battery. I was told I had to pay for the battery and for the service tech to install it. When I explained what the first guy said, he came back and said they covered the control panel and the outside alarm, but not the other batteries. I made the tech appointment and there was no mention of a service charge. The tech that came out said that ADT didnt pay for any batteries and there would be a $25 service charge in addition to the cost of the battery. I told him what the others said and he told me that they had lied to me. He also told me that the outside alarm was useless and I should cancel that, even though the guy who sold it to me said it was a great feature. I am not happy with a company whose employees will lie to you to get your business. I pay a monthly fee of over $50. Apparently that only covers monitoring, which is done mostly by computer. I am not happy with ADT.
Adt rep safe haven tried to charge me while parts were still under warranty. Adt set the appointment and fixed it free of charge. Dont agree to service that has the 75% cancellation fee requirement. You dont use the system as much as you think you will. Only the smoke detector is worth it for monitoring when not home.
The tech did apply any cover for wiring where here spliced from my original doorbell to the ADT doorbell mount. If I were a criminal and walked up to the entrance, the wiring is so obvious. He didnt advise me of it so I did t inspect b4 he left. Otherwise very courteous.
Horrible service, the equipment is trash. The salesman told me i signing up for a 2 year service called to cancel my service since my contract was over in July, the lady over the phone wanted me to pay $400 to cancel my contract. I asked her why since my contract was up in July and it was a 2 year contract, she replied you signed a 36 month contract and only the state of California give their customers 2 year contracts i decided to call my neighbors who got the service the same time I did, all said it was a 2 year contract and when they called to cancel they told them they have to pay hundreds of dollars to get out of the contract because the salesman lied to them about the contract.
Cancelling services with ADT was an absolute nightmare. After multiple phone calls, ADT drafted $445 out of my account without my authorization. The CSR I spoke to on my last phone call was rude, stating they couldnt just wait around for me to pay them. For six weeks I had been asking for my final invoice so that I could submit it to my new security system company. They bought out my contract. I was told something different by each CSR I spoke to, and there were several. I advise against setting up auto payments with ADT.
What a great company and great customer service. I called for a service call and they were out the same day! I have been a customer for over 20 years and this was my first time needing service, it was great service and the technician was so professional. Thank you ADT!
It takes MULTIPLE VISITS FROM THE REP TO FIX A PROBLEM. I receive a daily recording about a problem with system s communication. I already had a service come work on the system. I have called MULTIPLE TIMES TO DISCONTINUE THIS RECORDING. YET I AM NOW GETTING CALLS TWICE A DAY. I WOULD GIVE IT A ZERO STAR IF I COULD.
Terrible service and equipment on top of a long contract. Delt with them and paid for 3 years of junk.
