Champagnes has some of the best daily plate lunches in the area. Everything Ive ever had here is super delicious. Thats one of the main reasons to go, but Ive also had a few of the to-order items and theyve all been delicious. Top it off with the fact that its very fairly priced, and you cant go wrong.Also, this is one of the only places that I found in Lafayette that has an actual slush puppy machine. Everybody has icees, but this is the real deal slush puppy. You would be crazy not to try one at least once in your life, if you havent before.

I grew up across the street from this place! It used to be Mrs. Bs then Mr. Darryls and eventually came to be Champagnes! I have so many memories going here as a child! They had the same counters they do now (maybe upgraded now) its like it never changed! Boudin was always available for the boys around the neighborhood and it was always a one stop shop after school! All of us with change or lunch money we saved to go get our treats! I couldnt be more proud this place is still as it has always been and I know the food is still outstanding!We got our sodas and watched the Cajun Dome being built back then! I found my first stray cat right outside the door there! If you want history of Lafayette its definitely a good place to start!PS outdoor paint job looks good!! Geaux Ragin Cajuns
