Busy today but excellent service! I ordered lamb stew meat ahead of time and it was ready when they said it would be. AND!! It was the best lamb I’ve had in a very long time. Clearly fresh with no off-flavor. Best meat I’ve had in a long time. Thank you!

Great bbq with daily specials. Price is low food is better than good. Ribtips were the special today for $6.95 with two sides. Portions were very large and the sides are out of this world. Throw your diet out the window to eat here and indulge. Wide variety of sauces to choose from. Not the biggest or the best, but still gets 2 thumbs up from me

They state open to 7 pm during the week. Showed up on a Wednesday at 5 pm and was told they are closing and I wouldn’t be served. What a great business model!

Very rude. Went there 3 times. There was an older woman that helped me with the sliced ham and cheese that was very nice. Other than her everyone else acted like I was trash for no reason. The meat was good, got two tomahawk steaks and some pork chops. Will never go back unfortunately.

Absolutely cannot get better steaks anywhere between Chicago and Indianapolis. Meant for a charcoal or gas grill, broiler or smoker - do not miss this absolute hometown treasure! Extra friendly staff and niche market/local/microbrew beers, delicious deli salads and dairy treats. When life is good and its time to celebrate? D&R is where we are!

This place is not a super well decored or fancy place but it has outstanding food. Some what of a limited menu that changes day to day. But everything is very very good. Drop in and enjoy lunch or dinner sometime.

D&R has the best smoked meat in town. I also love their sides. I can only give them 3 stars because the last few times they had a severely limited amount of meats available for sale.

Our first time going there they had exactly what we were looking for. They even offered to order any item if we couldnt find it. We was treated with dignity & respect. We will definitely will be going again.

I used to love D&R but theyre not requiring employees or customers to wear masks. This is unsanitary and shows a lack of care for the community. One sick employee, who could have no symptoms, without a mask could lead to well over 1000 infections. Thats approximately fifty dead people because a business thought that masks were optional. Ill change my review to match my opinion of their goods and services when this policy changes.

Amazing food, quality is unmatched! Meat is literally not comparable with similar local butcher shops. Produce is fresh and delicious! Staff is polite, helpful and well mannered, always smiling and happy to assist. Always a pleasure to shop there. Prices reflect shopping experience. You get what you pay for.

I didnt go to D&R, I went to the Dollar General in the same tiny plaza. But have been to D&R back in 2016. Really good food. Slightly pricey but good food. You can carry out or eat in.

From the time I was little, my parents always shopped at D&R. Now as an adult, I shop here too! Their meats and produce are always wonderful and fresh. I cannot live without their thick-cut bacon!

To be honest, I expected more of a butcher counter experience. It seemed everything I wanted was in the cool cases. Some of the items looked a little grey and not something I would normally purchase. I found the prices to be fairly expensive. They had some good craft beer choices so check that out the next time you need some meats.

Great place for whole food, fresh food, and meats/cheeses. Seasonings/Beer/Wine/Condiments etc. All in one little shop. Their homemade brat creations are amazing. Especially love the Maple Blueberry brat.

They have stopped carrying most of the exotic produce that I mainly came for. but they have super specialty meat items most made in house that are outstanding (if you love brats go here for sure) a very decent gourmet and healthy variety selection, not to be found elsewhere.

The butcher meat packages are great and affordable. You can mix and match the items if you dont want everything in it. We go there usually twice a year for grill items and are always happy with the quality and service.

This is the only place we will buy hamburger. We know it is of very good quality. We love their smoked pork chops.

Specialty store with a wide selection of hard to find frozen meats (alligator, quail, veal, foie, etc.) and good quality fresh meats (beef, pork, chicken, lamb). Fresh seafood here is highest quality in town. Some good shelf stable products as well. Four stars because produce looks neglected at times and prices on some items are unfairly high — for example, the same whole frozen duck from Maple Leaf farms costs twice as much per pound here than at Meijer down the road. Overall a good place to know. One last plus: they sell fresh morels in the spring.

The Mac and cheese is incredible and so is the pulled pork sandwich. Definitely suggest it!

Best butcher in the lafayette area. As a Grocery stores it is a small family affair which is nice but the only have so much rooms for stock. They are responsive to stock requests and will resaw or re-cut things to suit you. A little pricier but you know what you got and its value. The only place around that has a good selection of lamb.

Here’s an honest review of our catering experience with Patrick and D&R market. After quoting 100 meals for our wedding a year in advance, we changed the number to 150 4 months before the wedding and got confirmation, quote, the whole nine yards from D&R. The first issue was that confirmation and info was not for our wedding, they’d put our name on some other girls day for 450 people and her name on our 150 person wedding. Got that fixed and emails made it seem like they had it figured out and they told us “confirm a final count the week of the wedding.” Deal. Monday comes, wedding is Saturday, we say 150 is perfect. Patrick the owner, manger,? Not sure his title but he was running the show confirms 150. They confirmed water, tea, lemonade, condiments, and a vegan meal. Day of the wedding, caterers show up after people are already seated in the reception, luckily the receiving line and photos made it seem like they were on time when in reality they were 2+ hours late. That’s not the good part, the good part is halfway through the guests eating, foods gone, there never actually was any water, the whole 2 gallons of lemonade they brought was obviously gone, along with the tea gallon. Plates and silverware were gone around person 90 so people literally used the metal serving trays (we have photos). Long story short after all the back and forth and confirming and double checking, they showed up with food for 100 at best, no water because they didn’t have any in stock for this 100 degree outdoor wedding, all the tea and lemonade they had (3 gallons of liquid total) for 150 people. Let the excuses begin, for starters when the catering workers were questioned they were rude, offensive and when they went to the restroom said some not so nice words about my now wife and in front of guests. Sorry for calling out your mistakes? After a month of waiting I finally called them to get a bill even though I shouldn’t have paid anything for this display of ineptitude. They’d lost our paperwork for everything and hadn’t found it according to Patrick. The bill comes and they fully expected us to cover everything they brought even though it wasn’t close to what was ordered. We negotiate come to terms and that part wasn’t terrible, but the way they excused their mistake made it pretty obvious they have a system built to mess up weddings and caterings. We agree on an exact price, the wife shows up to pay, the bills wrong because they forgot some items.....of course!!!! The wife says no this is what we agreed on. Patrick throws out that he can’t control how much our guests were eating? Is this a joke to you? You openly admit to bringing 50 meals less than ordered and still want to defend yourself in that kind of manner? Disturbingly unprofessional. He tells my wife “pay whatever you want then.” For fear a legal fight I would’ve cut a check for $5 just because the portion of food that did actually show up was good. He ended our last emails, calls, and payment with “I hope there’s no hard feelings?” Of course not, y’all just showed up late, talked bad about my wife on her wedding day, didn’t feed half my guests, and tried to make me pay for stuff you said you’d bring but didn’t.In summary: I wouldn’t recommend catering from D&R for an event you want to be stress free and fully provided. The food that shows up will taste good, but if you want the guests to be fed after the wedding party, get a party sub or 2 on standby. This review based on a true story.
