I’m definitely biased as I worked at the Ace on the west side until recently, but it’s interesting how the two compare. This location on Beck Ln was seriously understaffed both times I visited, I wasn’t greeted or offered help either time, and when I did need help I had to search all over the store just to find an employee. That would never ever happen at the west side Ace.The garden center, on the other hand, was exponentially better than the garden center at the west side Ace (sorry Xena, I know you do your best). It was much larger, extremely well laid out, perfectly organized and maintained, just everything about was just in a totally different league.I’m sure these differences, positive and negative, are almost exclusively due to differences in management. Since all Ace stores are independently owned franchises and the one on the west side at least is very much run as a family business (not sure about the other), policies can and do differ dramatically from store to store. When I lived in Missoula, MT there were four Ace locations that had a distinct specialties – two were just hardware, one was just a garden center, and one was just small machinery like lawn mowers and such. A totally different business model. Anyway, a well-run Ace Hardware is the best place to go for any of your hardware or garden needs, in my opinion.

Came in here for info on Blackstone grills. These guys are so knowledgeable. Gonna wait to see if they have any good prices on Black Friday. If not, they will still get my business.

Clean professional employees, how about everything what you want

Great customer service. If one employee cant find what Youre looking for then I always go to what I call a senior employee (someone whos been there for several years) and they know what you need and where to find it. Thank You 💙

Couldnt get any assistance so I had to buy couple different ones to see which one would fit. The prices are high, considering the price shouldnt the store look better and have better employees that care about the customers. FYI- Customers are the only reason you have a job.

I was completely unimpressed with this store. I tried several times to get an employees attention to ask a question about a product to purchase and they walked right past me as if I werent even there. After standing there for 25 minutes, my daughter and I decided to leave. This store does not employ the company saying of being the Place with the helpful hardware man Will not be back here again!!!

Great outdoor items for yards and gardens. A lot of variety you dont see at the big box stores in Lafayette. Very helpful employees. Great shopping experience.

Ive had delivery, orders put on hold and always found what I needed in stock, in store. Its a plus Im supporting small business.

I believe the store should have a meeting and make every employee aware of the products they do offer and do not offer we were told we could get new screens for our windows. We got a call saying they were done we came up here and a totally Different person was claiming that they do not do new screens they only repair screens which is Not at all what we were told we waited over two weeks for these to get done only to get our old screens back that did not even need repaired we only brought them in for size comparison and framework which they don’t do frame work either. They expected us to pay for our old screens stating they repaired them when nothing was wrong with them in the first place. Only the frames were messed up. What a huge mess. They will never get our business again!

Convenient, but there is a bit of a mark up on prices. As long as you understand that, the convenience is worth the markup. Then yeah 5 Stars.

Places very small I would say compared to other stores but the staff is tentative helpful and when something is amiss they go out of their way to correct it

They have a bigger selection of bbq rubs and sauces than most places. They could benefit from having a larger building to accommodate a larger grilling section

I got a new grill. I was helped when picking it out and the same man brought it to my house put together and right where I wanted it within about a half hour. He was extremely polite and a great help when shopping and delivering. Assembly and delivery were free and we got a great deal on the grill and all the cooking tools I needed

Truly is the helpful place. I never have to guess where something may be. Every associate I have asked takes me right to thg he product Im looking for. Usually there is someone when you walk in ready to help. Best little hardware store plus they have a pretty good selection of Craftsman products.

This Ace is near my home. Beck Lane and 231. As an elderly person I can get wonderful healthy plants here without walking a bigger box store. The CashierDenise, was so sweet and helpful . Id go back just to see her. The ladies in the plant dept. Were very helpful. Will assist in getting your items to your vehicle.

They had the drill bits I needed.

This place has good deals on SOME THINGS. You have to wait for the sales, but they have decent prices on plants along with a variety. Not meant for big home projects; more like quick fix and a little higher price then volume stores.

Everyone is always very helpful and friendly in this store. If they dont have an answer for your question, they will find someone who does. Its always pleasant shopping here, even if all you need is a key made! Dont forget, they have unusual items that are hard to find, too!

Ace Hardware has long been a benchmark remains very well recognized for the traditional tool and hardware store industry. Unlike its box superstore counterparts, it is relatively small by comparison although its literally chalked just as full of every manor of home improvement and repair part, tool and gadget that you might need or find elsewhere. It has one significant benefit for the novice homeowner, which is a friendly, courteous and knowledgeable staff ready to answer your every question and keep things in practical laymans terms. There are only a few drawbacks in that, where their small store size certainly still translates to a quicker trip to the parts store and with their help its easy to find that one or two parts that you may have forgotten, but if you have a larger list, it always seems so incredibly crowded with barely enough room to take a cart down an isle.

Staff is always friendly and courteous and always has an answer for my questions. They have tons of hard to find items to boot!

Steven who says he is a manager but needs me to come back tomorrow to speak to the real manager because he is not returning a $50 saw because it had no battery when I opened the box so he is making the assumption that I purchased a $50 saw to take a battery!! If you are buying anything from this store open the box before you leave the premises. He even told me I could stare at him all I wanted and he wasnt changing his mind. I was just in awe and sick to my stomach of what he was practically telling me in my face. That I was a thief. Hell yeah Im gonna stare at you with disbelief.
