I had only ever bought violins and accessories online so I was really nervous and anxious about going to a shop to purchase an advanced violin. Anya gave me a fair price for my trade in and was SO kind and helpful and patient with me while I tried out violins. The violin selection was large for such a small/cute shop and she was very knowledgeable about the history of each one. Anya made my first serious violin shopping experience not just easy but actually really enjoyable. I will absolutely go to her for future repairs and purchases!

Took a trip from Mandeville to look at the possibility of upgrading one of the kids violins. Beautiful shop, and a good selection of old beautiful violins. Service was excellent. My son loves his new violin, he says it was the perfect one.

We live an hour and a half away from SOLA, but made the drive after a recommendation from my sons violin instructor. We were in search of a cello small enough for my other son. This little string shop is such a gem! Anya spent a long time fitting my son for his cello and answering all of his many preschooler questions. Anya and Chris are both so pleasant and welcoming. The store is beautiful and the instruments are obviously high quality. Once we made the hour and a half return trek, we got home and a cable broke (our cello was a rental and the broken cable was a result of use and not workmanship). I emailed Anya that afternoon and she was determined to get my son up and running and even offered to drive out to my home the next morning to make the small repair! I was able to convince her to allow me to meet her halfway and she did! She repaired the cello in a coffee shop and did so with a smile on her face and friendly conversation! If you need a string instrument, do yourself a favor and skip the online shot-in-the-dark and support a lovely local business that offers excellent, caring craftsmanship and ol school customer service. Go to SOLA! Anya has ensured continued patronage from us!!
