Walk in and the quirky and typical LB funkiness hits you. Odd angles, weird stairs going off in all directions, theres a basement and a second floor to check out. In the basement, you can look up and see brick archways and little round glass blocks let you know youre under the sidewalk. This could not be done in these modern times.

Fantastic variety for any voracious erudite. Support this local bookseller when in Laguna!

The demotion of pickled ginger to condiment status is a disaster.With Covid it was inevitable, I guess but I still dont like it.

I love local bookstores! It always has a character of its own. Laguna Bookstore is no different. You can find the warmth and vibrancy of the beach inside the store. Beautifully decorated. The best thing is little reviews by staff, dangling from the shelf - it really helps to choose a book, especially if its a new author for you. Staff was very helpful to find and suggest me the kind of book I was looking for. The childrens section is also very well stocked. Apart from books there are some fun collectibles too. If I were a local, I would spend hours here!

Not my genre, but the cafe options with the gamut of magazines to peruse is well worth the trip. Service was very friendly. Space is airy. A little weird open window in the restroom connected to the inside of the building is a trip, but adds to the quirkiness of the space.

Been coming here since the store opened when I was a kid. Christopher is amazing and can help you pick out any book you could want to read. Any of the staff there will be helpful and friendly every time you go in there. Great place to get a book to read while youre on the beach or even just hang around and make conversation. I would highly recommend anyone who comes to Laguna Beach to go here.

Great selection of fiction, and the employees are helpful and friendly. I wish that their used books section were larger, but its probably not a huge part of their business.Still, I make it a point to stop by whenever Im in Coolidge Corner, and thats definitely a sign of a good bookstore.

Great place I frequently visit. Wonderful selection of books. I also attend their book club that meets once a month. Very interesting discussions. Chris is a great coordinator.

FANTASITC! ! Every book seems to be selected based on merit rather than profitability and publisher. There is only so much room in a small bookstore like this so you end up with the highest quality books rather than the mass market shotgun approach of piling every book on the shelves. This place seems to have a purpose much higher than money: joy of good reading and community.

The location, the books and the staff book knowledge are worth travelling to visit this store wheneverI am in Southern California.I always find some wonderful books to buy thanks to the staff picks. When I am not in the neighbourhood, their website is very useful.

Was buying a book for my daughter and asked for a bag to put the book and some other stuff I had in it. The lady gave me a smug remark for asking for the bag. Wish I could have spent money elsewhere. Not doing business here again.One day later. Couple we traveled noticed the exact same problem. Owner is stingy with her bags

Rather small, but eclectic, attention grabbing selection that makes parting with your dollars the culmination of an adventure. You may have to park several blocks away. Dont forget where you parked!

Great assortment of books and excellent service by the owner of the place that attends you personally, super friendly and with a great knowledge about the authors and books, I was impressed by the general culture that has and the way in which it explains similarity between Several authors and styles of writing, it is definitely a unique library of its kind in this beautiful city.
