This is the tourist grocery store In Lahaina, and you will pay tourist prices.I havent tried this Safeway for the fish yet so I dont feel fair about my review fully. I will probably do an update when I go back for a fish. However, as somebody who likes to get fresh produce at least twice a week...I have some serious issues with the way that theyre storing their fresh food in store. After 3 weeks, Im under the distinct impression now that this store is seriously lacking in refrigeration and is having issues. Ive shopped here at least 5 times, each time picking up fresh produce and sorely disappointed in it when I brought it home. Safeway produce doesnt last more than 2 or 3 days long with refrigeration at home, If I even get a full day out of some of them... I am disappointed in the lack of refrigeration that they have for these items that they are asking a high dollar price point for.Im trying to find other solutions to work around this problem by finding other vendors who will be able to sell me fresh quality produce. If youre looking for quality produce do not come to this store. If youre looking for alcohol selections or any other thing that you need from a grocery store this place is fine. But like I said, I havent tried the fish yet so maybe Ill change my mind about the review.

Island chaos! Everyone was there and it was extremely busy. There was no place to park and the lines were moving very slowly.I had to take a step back and remember where I am and why Im here...to slow down and understand again what really matters. Be careful what you buy here, I have noticed many dry-goods and boxed products have a 2020 expiration date (in 2021). The donut area often seems to be infested with ants, but you dont realize theyre in the donut box until you get home (so be aware of that). Excellent customer service.

Other than the extremely rude local in the parking lot (maybe if youre not happy about tourists you shouldnt live in a place that full of them year round?) my experience was pretty good.Safeway needs to update their self checkouts though or figure out how to split people so that those with more items end up on the registers with bigger bagging platforms.EDIT: If you dont mind being ripped off, shop here. I discovered that the Times Supermarket in Honokawi (just up the road 10 minutes, across from Papakea Resort) is significantly cheaper with just as good if not better selection of items all around.

Newly remodeled, lots of variety, big wine selection, bakery is huge, lots of fresh prepared meals in the deli and absolutley huge poke selection and good quality.

About 80 percent of the time, your bill is wrong in their favor always. When I realize they overcharged me, I asked for the computer be change but they dont. Plus deli has copious people behind counter but no one to wait on you

I was able to find most of what I needed. Milk prices were more then double of what they are in the Phoenix area. Prices for groceries all round were higher as well, but understood as they have to bring everything in.

Food land doesnt anything thanything that comes over from the mainland is always sprayed.. So I shop at the stores where they have local produce.. And remember always by went on sale...

Its a grocery store near resorts so you can expect expensive items, but their alcohol is cheaper than at the resorts. I had a hard time finding things because I dont think Ive ever been to a Safeway. I came here June 1st and Im not sure if the shelves were empty because of Memorial Day, but they were out of almost everything and the prices were pretty high on everything except pineapples. I went to Times Supermarket and it was stocked with everything. So if you go to Safeway and it is empty you may want to try there.

Safeway is your gateway to purchase all your grocery you need in the Island. Prices are more expensive by at least 30% compare to mainland USA. Do not get to the store late at night as all the merchandises you want to have are gone. Expect delays at 10 PM due to inventory report check if you decide to visit the store. Else all good.

Stopped at the Lahaina Safeway a few weeks ago. This is what their homemade bread looks like. Im going back to Maui in 2022. I will definitely not stop here for my grocery needs.

Self checkout machines are a mess! The weighing scale is so sensitive that anytime you move your food it gives an error and a staff member has to fix it for you.People werent really social distancing in the store and we saw several shirtless people around (given we are close to the beach but still)

Probably the best grocery store / supermarket on the west side of Maui. You can find almost anything youd need. Fresh cut pineapple is always really good. No complaints worth mentioning here. Expect long lines / few cashiers at certain times of the day.

WOW...!!!.....we are frequent visitors to Maui. The new Safeway/Lahaina side is a super super store.......finally fresh sushi, 20 pokes (!!), the sparkling and fine wine section is first class, floral A+.......they should be very proud

Pretty standard selection, store is clean and fairly well stocked.

You really should check out this supermarket for the seafood selection in the back. We were offered samples of smoked marlin and some kind of fish jerky. Really good stuff! The poke and ahi options were incredible. We loaded up! They also had a great wine section with the huge cold space in the back.

Amazing selection, good loyalty program, and good service. If you are looking for something thats a little harder to find on the island, this place probably has it. Excellent pre-order and grocery pick up service, too.

Very crowded and the shelves were bare. They must have not received the shipment or not put on the shelves. Also very expensive.

Selection is good. The majority of produce is buy the pound on hawaii. Like cucumbers and peppers. Prices are higher than the Mainland. Pricing for those products are about 25% higher when you buy by the pound.

This is a fantastic grocery store. The layout and selection options met everything my family needed on our 9 day trip.

If you like a post-apocalyptic feel to a store where the shelves are constantly stripped and the produce is either gone or low quality, this is the Safeway for you. Otherwise, checkout any of the other grocery stores nearby.

Very busy between 12-5 no parking close by park half way across parking lot, understaffed in the meat and seafood dept. Waited 10 minutes while tourists tried different poke, wanted cuts if meat but employee was helping seafood dept.

HWaiis major grocery store chain; where you could buy a lot of stuff, including alcohol, but the pinnacle is loaf of bread for $9, LOCAL produce at triple the price than in NYC, Lays potato chips for $8 and so much more.if you are struggling all your life with portion control and never succeed to achieve it, you should move to one of the islands.
