This is the sweetest place ever. The employees are so accommodating and have the warmest smiles. The coffe is great. The menu for breakfast and lunch is perfect. The food is on point. The vibe is so positive and relaxing. It was our first visit, not our last.

Southern hospitality at its best. Popped in for a small coffee ended up being educated in delights of shrimp and grits. Then some lovely cakes - must try the bread pudding - awesome!

I came back to revise my original review. I was upset about being inconvenienced twice. The owner called my husband back that afternoon and let him know she made a fresh batch of cinnamon rolls, and that they were on the house for inconveniencing us prior. I’ve been wanting to try them for so long. They were so worth the wait. The best cinnamon roll I’ve ever had hands down and the BIGGEST!

We were passing thru on our way home and found this place. Its amazing. The perfect coffee shop. The cinnamon rolls are fantastic and coffee is amazing. The service was the best. Very pleasent experience and we will be coming back the next time we are in town.! Will also be telling our family that lives near by.

The only reason this place gets five stars is because Google wont let me give it ten! Wonderful atmosphere and the staff are second to none. I needed a place to sit and work on homework and attend a video conference and Common Grounds was ideal! Michelle and the rest of the crew are the best! Will definitely come back!

Today was my 1st visit. I will definitely be going back. I had the shrimps and grits - which tasted good - but was a little thin - upon mentioning this to the manager - she offered to cook some more to give to me at no extra cost. I stated no because they were still delicious - that was very kind of her. Jack was very courteous and friendly. Exceptional customer service.

The Owner takes great pride in this establishment! She exudes the term “southern hospitality“ . The coffee here is strong and flavorful which is important for coffee lovers like myself, add the Shrimp n Grits the owner personally made for me and u have a 5 star review. Not only a coffee, but also a place to have a great breakfast.

Its took a while to post this but we visited Common Grounds in October on our road trip from Houston to New Orleans. The coffee and food were excellent but the welcome we received made the visit even more enjoyable. We hope your venture is continuing to be successful. Very pleasant. Food could have taken a wee bit shorter but was very tasty, and the coffee was wonderful. A very cozy environment with a pick-up-and-play guitar and nice view of the outside.

Michele and her baristas were an absolute treat. She was so accommodating and the keto special was a delight. Will definitely be back with a date!

Wow! What treasure for those of us who live further out from Lake Charles! They have great hours (you can get coffee on the way to or from work), amazing staff, and fun atmosphere! To top it off, the story behind the coffee house is inspiring! Im so glad to have a business like this in our neck of the woods :)

What a great little dig and addition to the Moss Bluff/Gillis area! The staff seems to be very polite and motivated, good atmosphere and a very clean facility. My wife and I ordered four separate things and there were no complaints, the food and drinks came out promptly and the plating was superb. We were definitely impressed and will surely be back, keep up the good work!

Local Christian family owned and operated.. Great place to chill, drink specialty drinks or coffee, listening to music and eat a muffin or whatever Michele has whipped up.. Also they have there own brew of coffee, that is really good..make sure you go by and support them.

Their potato soup is FANTASTIC!!!!And their stuffed tomatoes... OMG.I love their customer service. And the food is that much better. I love this place and will keep coming back. They are a Christian shop, which means a lot to me. And their servers are so sweet, too.

I was a fortunate traveler who happened to be staying at a VRBO at just the day and time of the Ryan St grand opening of The Common Grounds Coffee House! I arrived in a dither about how to access the lockbox to my room and was helped even though they were busy setting up for the event. I was never made to feel I was a bother or intruding on their time. Later, when I ordered a nice cup of hot coffee, I asked a few questions about what was going on and realized the event that was being prepared was the grand opening! After sitting in what I will call The Prayer Room, I went to the lobby to sit and listen to the music and rested up a bit as I drank my coffee. I was kindly approached by the owner who wanted to be sure I was ok and had what I needed. She was so gracious and had a lovely conversation with her. Common Grounds is a wonderful place for respite, reflection and positive encounters with attentive, cheerful waitstaff - which is not a surprise, given the example provided by Michele. This weary traveler is very grateful.

Coolest little coffee shop on this side of the world. Theres not many coffee hangout spots like this around the area. Where Im from its like a requirment to have a neighbor coffeeshop at ever corner. This is exactly that to this area, its a cool place to hangout with friends. They have many of there own unique drinks, and they even roast their coffee on sight. The environment is very comfortable for studying or relaxing. The music is cool too. Definitely give this place a try. Theres even outdoor seating.
