Just visited The Book Shelter Lake Wales for the first time to take advantage of their location closing deal [50% off] and I am so glad that I made time in my afternoon to do so. & I will be visiting their location in Dundee in the future. I have only been to the Dundee store front that recently opened, but I’m giving it five stars because the selection of books and price range are fantastic! I was able to find something for everyone in my family (that reads for fun) something and I didn’t pay more than the price of a brand new hardcover book at a chain store! Staff is super friendly and helpful in finding what you need and answers any questions you have on their Facebook page quickly and efficiently.

First time going today and in my 20 minutes of being there I found 11 books to take home with me. I hadn’t even looked at the whole store. I was very impressed. I also love the large section of children books. Good vibes, do recommend.

I found The Book Shelter by accident and Im really happy that I found it. It is a hidden gem in downtown Lake Wales. Stop in and see what they have in stock. They have great books, a fairly flat pricing structure (special editions will cost more), and the pricing is low. Great for any bookworm!

I stumbled upon this magical little bookstore tucked back in an alley and instantly fell in love. Their selection and prices are excellent. I was very pleasantly surprised by how many classics they had...shelves and shelves! Highly recommend!

Great place to get used books, large selection off books for 1-13 year old children. Was able to find adult books that I liked as well. The place is set up nice and neat, not a large building but still able to shop easily. Great prices, bought three bags of books. Definitely worth the time to stop by, won’t be disappointed

This place is everything you want in a small-town bookstore. While they do keep a large selection of books (I usually find what Im looking for, plus a couple of few more!), its the friendly atmosphere and service that keeps my family coming back regularly!

My husband and I went there last Friday for the first time and this store is awesome, amazing bookstore. Friendly staff and very helpful too and even go out of their way to help you too. We love their loyalty programs and their prices. It is a Wow Wow store and we will definitely be back. We do wish they were open more often. They also have great books!

Nice place and very much needed here in Lake Wales! This store has a great variety of interesting books ranging from childrens to Christian books...diet and exercise and they also have audio books and board games. GREAT little spot in charming arcade in Lake Wales. Neatest environment around. It might not be a huge store but its FULL of great titles and quality books! Saw the sign for “The Book Shelter” as I was on my way to ride around the lake. On my return I saw it again and thought I’d check it out. I’m so glad I did!! The used book store is clean, organized and well-stocked. There are so many wonderful incentives available too that encourage you to keep returning! The staff was very helpful and kind. I had a wonderful experience, I went there looking for a specific author, and though they may not have had it, an employee assisted me and helped me find books similar to the ones I was looking for. The books are good, and the cost is cheap.

I was so impressed with the selection, quality and price of the books at The Book Shelter. What a fun theme for a book store! My toddler had a lot of fun going through the childrens books and we were able to sit and read a few before purchasing. Sam was also very helpful with sharing books that my little guy might like, while helping me find books that were on my list.

I’m so glad we have a quality used book store in lake wales now the gentleman at the counter had the best customer service I have seen in a long time. I took my nephew to pick out some books and the gentleman was very helpful with suggestions. After my nephew spent 25 mins picking out some books ( because they have a large selection) we left with 7 books at a great bargain. Will definitely be a repeat customer.

My wife and I absolutely love this place. Located in the middle of downtown Lake Wales, The Book Shelter provides a great selection of books for any age reader. We recently stopped by to just say hello, and ended up leaving with several books for my 1 year old daughter. Everyone should check them out.

I dont get to Lake Wales very often, but when I do I make sure I go on Friday or Saturday. That way I can browse in this wonderful little shop I discovered on vacation last July. They have a huge selection of well cared for books at great prices. The service is great and there is truly a book for everyones interests. Stop in and see what I mean!

My daughter and I were in the Lake Wales area one weekend and just happened to see The Book Shelters sign. It was their opening day, so we lucked out. My daughter loves reading, so she never goes by a used book store without stopping. The Book Shelter is a small place, but its well stocked, well organized, and has a friendly, helpful staff. Plus, they really seem to love getting kids into reading. Their Book Hero program allows kids to get a free book every week.

Great quality of books, friendly service and a great place to bring your kids to spark a passion for reading. Dont forget that theyre only open on Fridays and Saturdays! Very affordable prices and a wide variety of books and movies. They even have some board games.

Cute little hidden gem in Lake Wales. Ive heard about this place through fellow homeschoolers but didnt find it until driving home from Bok Tower and I decided to follow the used bookstore signs. The customer service is great and they spoke directly to my young children to find out their preferences and led them to the best bookshelves. He even led us to a great ice cream place nearby inside of another bookstore. The loyalty program is also great and I will definitely be back!
