We went this morning for the first time and had a Wonderful Experience!Service- friendly & attentive (filled our drinks quickly)Taste - delicious!Portion- very good (We each received enough food for two meals)Price- reasonable!Presentation- beautiful and appetizing!I had the omlette and chose Red and green peppers, crispy bacon, and the fresh cheese. Chose the hash browns and pancakes for my sides.My friend had a skillet.We sat on the deck and enjoyed the fresh air & breeze.They have βregularβ items and authentic Mexican cuisine- truly something for EVERYONE ππThank you Jorge!!
I came in with my husband and 3 kids 9/26/2021 for brunch. Each of my kids ordered the Mickey Mouse pancake and a kids drink my husband order a taco and I order the cream cheese crepe. It was all pretty good. Food came out fast. The only reason why I gave it 1 star is because of the service. I felt rushed to order and when it came down to paying we payed $62.49. I thought it was outrageous so I check my bill and I got charged twice for my kidβs meals. I came back to get it fixed because it was approximately $20 extra being charged and the waitress argued that it was right. She tried to explain but the amount did not match and she left to take care of her tables. I felt terrible from this experience and I donβt think the food they serve is worth the treatment of the waitresses. I got stolen from on the spot.
Very good food. They are just getting their legs about service, itβs a new rest. Both entrees came out about five minutes apart. They were very attentive. They havenβt gotten their liquor license yet, but will soon.The owner came out and greeted us. Very nice people who work there. Iβm sure by the next visit I will give 5 stars.
Such a great place to eat. The homemade mole sauce is awesome. Everything was tasty and seasoned perfectly. Equally the guacamole, creamy and fresh, not heavy on cilantro. Hubby had the Carne Asada, used the mole sauce, he loved the flavor. Service was great. Will definitely be back for a breakfast try soon. Nice to have a good Mexican restaurant in the are that is not pretentious, family owned and takes pride in good food.
Food was great. Everything is fresh, we had berry french toast as dessert after the steak tacos, fajita burrito and skirt steak. The service was great, even met the owner who shows so much pride in his restaurant which you donβt find too often anymore. Will come back soon.
Ever since the original White Alps closed, there has been a breakfast place void waiting to be filled. This place has the potential to do that. This is by far the best out of all the restaurants that have been at this location. Additionally it is a Mexican restaurant, but it has all the things you would expect at a breakfast joint (eggs, pancakes, meats, skillets, omelettes, coffee, ect). I havent had the dinner (yet), but I have heard it can compete with Tacos El Norte in terms of price and taste.
We decided to try this place for breakfast and loved it! Authentic Mexican dishes. Itβs definitely more than a breakfast place. They have everything and it was delicious. Way better than any of the other Mexican places near by.
Ive been here twice, both for lunch, we thought it was great! Free chips & salsa, generous on portions and an appreciative & attentive staff. I wish them well!
Me and my sister called to pick up food from here and the place was beautifully decorated inside but the food was just not it. There just was no flavor or it was either questionable to what it was. Itβs just not authentic.
Fantastic went here with my husband to try it out and everything was wonderful. We ordered horchatas and they came in a margarita glass the big margarita glasses well we did order a large so it was nice. The people there were very friendly and the atmosphere was very nice as well. So if youre looking for a place where you can get great Mexican food I highly recommend this restaurant.
So I went inside to pickup an order and approached by the waitress, I am waiting for my order to come out and she serves another customer when I came in inside first and she was waiting on the car. Both orders were over the phone but she decides to help the lady. Plus she forgets what I order for drink. I see post of this restaurant looking for new business but cant handle hoping the correct customers. This post will also be going on Nextdoor appAddition,I just received a call from the people who take orders. So she cant explain the reasoning as to why they have a misleading structure of placing orders. So just to clarify above. So apparently the lady paced her order in person then decides to wait in her car. But I have placed my order through the phone. Apparently they gave the same numbers to both of us but dont explain that they have a in person order or a phone order. Very dysfunctional process I would say. She asked me to remove my post but no. You need to earn that respect to do so and speak with manner.
They did really good on service on the Pub Crawl but they should have 2 bartenders. It would have been even better.

Great family owned business mixing American breakfast with Mexican spin and spice. Food is cheaper that other similar Restaurants in the area. Alot of food for little dollars. Very kind workers with delicious food options for all. Will be back again!

Really disappointed. Returned home without getting our entrees. Waitress dropped the plates in front of us,, walked to another table.. I called her back bc she brought wrong food. Didnt apologize for bringing wrong order, waited for another 10 minutes, did not deliver our food, so we paid for our margaritas (not very good) and left.

Extensive, really good menu - lots of breakfast options, served anytime. First time here. I had the Benedict Mexicano (con chorizo); she had the burrito (huge - more than enough for two meals). -1 star for prices, but well be back.
Enchiladas verde were good.However, yall didnt have corned beef hash the one day I come through. Gah.

I liked the place, took me a couple of minutes to figure out where the entrance was haha, looks clean. It wasnβt very busy when we got there but when people started to arrive I noticed that is quite understaffed. Seems to be a family owned/run and needs some more organization to better serve the customers. Food wise ordered a skillet, huge portions with extra hash browns or potatoes just way to much food for me. The meats were flavorless and overcooked it was hard to difference the chorizo from skirt steak or pastor they all basically tasted the same I was hopping for all the flavors to be there. My husband ordered some waffles and he said they were ok. Friendly staff, reasonable priced. Not sure if I would go back.
Everyone in the Lake Zurich area should support this restaurant. They have great food, great service, and good prices. We have enjoyed their fabulous breakfast and dinner as well. This is definitely one of my new favorite Mexican restaurants.

Parroquia Burrito was fantastic! The char-grille flavor they get on the chicken and steak are what really stood out. And that red sauce...great heat!

Food is authentic, fresh, and they give you lots of food for the price. The BEST Mexican restaurant in town. Dont hesitate try them, youll be hooked. Their staff is super nice too!

Restaurant is open for outside patio sitting as of 6/6/20 . They have 5 tables outside.The quality / price ratio was great. The breakfast for 4 people was $60 (without tips) for food and drinks and we had to get a 2 to-go boxes because they offered 2 sides for each breakfast entry. Service was nice and fast. I think this is the 3rd time this restaurant changes the name/owners during last several years and hope itll be the last. So far this is a great place.

Many restaurants have tried to make a go of it in this location. Based upon our experience, La Parroquia Mexican Pancake House is going to be there for MANY years. DONT LET THE NAME FOOL YOU!! In addition to unique breakfast items with a Mexican flair (available all day) they also off a full menu of traditional and wonderful Mexican dinner items. Everyone in our group loved their meals. The service from the wonderful family that runs this establishment was also attentive, timely, and terrific!! We all left there talking about what we were going to have on our next visit!! Youre going to love it!!

After numerous other Mexican food joints at this location I think we have found one that is going to stick!Their food was very tasty, drinks strong, and service friendly. Even the bill was light on the wallet.
I have to start by saying that we have a favorite Mexican restaurant in LZ that we frequent regularly and we wanted to see how La Parroquia compared to them.The stand out was the salsa. It tasted very fresh and was AMAZING! The quality of the meat in all the dishes we had was very good and portion sizes were generous. The seasoning/flavor varied by dish - the chicken fajitas were great but the burritos didnt have a lot of flavor. The chips were a bit different...most were hollow and they were quite greasy. That didnt stop us from eating them though because we needed something to use for the awesome salsa! it wasnt crowded at all when we were there but it took a long time to get our food.Overall, a solid place to eat but I wouldnt pick it over our normal go-to.
You should go here! The food is always beautiful and delicious and the staff is so kind and considerate. Ive sat outside for brunch in the summer and inside today for breakfast. They accommodated out group of 8 in our own space. Individual menus, hand sanitizer at the entrance. Fiesta Crepes, mexican coffee, eggs benedict, hash browns, everything is generously sized and delicious! Yuri kept us filled in coffee and water! Thank you!
We went to La Parroquia to try out the authentic Mexican food. Jorge (the owner and chef) and his wife Kary (our server) were amazingly friendly. There was so much food. The food was fantastic and weβll definitely come back soon. Jorge said that in the next few weeks theyβll have Taco Tuesdays and drink specials. HOW BOUT.....NOOOOOOOO!La Parroquia missed the mark. I placed an order online and went to pick it up. What a waste of gas.I was terribly UNDERWHELMED.So sorry. Not sure what the other reviewers are RAVING about. This food was borderline - Ter-ri-ble. No Flavor, VERY bland, with an over powering pepper flavor. I would like to point out, I am not afraid of flavor, spicy, or HOT. It was none of those. In all my years, I dont believe I have ever experienced BLAND MEXICAN FOOD. Even If I didnt love it, it had some sort of flavor to it.And for whatever reason the person that came out to bring my food, seemed to be AFRAID? It was WEIRD.La Parroquia - NECESITAS HACERLO MEJOR!

Stopped in for breakfast this morning and was not disappointed that we did. Food came out hot and was super flavorful. Sever was sweet and Im not sure if it was the chef or owner but, he stopped out to check on us and out experience. Will definitely check it out for dinner.
Staff is very friendly, food is flavorful and large portions. Jorge (the owner & chef) brought out a lightly fried chicken tender for each of us to try before he adds to the menu. Im sure once they have their liquor license Saturday nights will be busy! Well be back!

Dont let this jem pass you by. They know how to do it all from waffles to authentic Mexican breakfast. This place deserves more reviews. So my husband ordered waffles which were so darn good and I ordered a cactus burrito. Both were delicious. He ordered a side of rice a bean. All was eaten and plate was basically scrapped clean. My burrito could have been eaten all but I wanted to savor it for dinner. Mmm mmm please stop by and taste for yourself.

We went there for dinner tonight. The food is terrific! We had huevos rancheros and one of the combos. Everything is delicious, and the portions are large. Its a nice family place. No need to dress up, but do be prepared to be impressed. Friendly people, good food, good service. What else do you need?
Had a really great breakfast here with friends. The service was very good and the owner also came by to make sure everything was ok and also introduced himself. The strawberry pancakes were excellent as well as the breakfast quesadilla with 2 sides. Lots of options on the menu and there are also American options as well. Liquor license should be coming soon but donβt let that stop you. We were very pleased.

Like many in the 60047 area I was extremely cautious when I heard that Carlos was under new ownership. I had been to Carlos once. One and done and didnt really want to give La Parroquia a chance until it was discussed on Next Door app.La Parroquia didnt disappoint at all. From the fresh nachos, guacamole and salsa to my skirt steak with garlicky shrimp all were great. In fact, do I dare say, better than tacos el norte. Ill just keep that between us.Give this place a chance like I did and let the food and atmosphere change your mind. Im so glad I did.Breakfast is next.1/1/20-Breakfast was great ! I hope all give this place a chance.
This food is so so so disappointing. Worst Mexican food I have ever had. I got the torta pastor it was flavorless and tough. Chips where greasy and unsalted. The salsa they gave was sad. The service was awful. They had one waitress that was trying her best, but we waited 15 minutes for her to take our order and another 30 to get our food. The atmosphere of this place was awkward. No music and I can hear everyones conversations. Just dont waste your time or money
The worst. Horrible service. Food all came out to table at different times. Waited 20 minutes for check. Staff was condescending and rude when presenting a coupon. I will never go back and will inform my family and friends to do the same.

Despite good reviews from everyone, we didnt have the same experience. We went there with 2 other families for lunch. Kids meals seemed ok. Macncheese with fries. The adult Mexican breakfast meals we ordered were not good. Wife vomited for 2 days after eating there. The dishes were so bad, no one else could finish their plates. My skillet didnt seem fresh. It was as if old ingredients were used. Servers stopped coming to check on us or provide refills even though we were the only ones there. The guac lacked spice or salt.
We had dinner with a large plateful of food. It was tasty. We will try breakfast soon π

Long story short, we ordered through grubhub for breakfast and its been an 1.5 hrs after the order was placed and we just got the food. Order was accepted, we arrived at restaurant. They claim no order and they dont do grubhub. Staff does not speak english and the manager on duty refused to come out the back.Zero communication so were only told to wait. they (unbeknownst to us) made the order from the info on my phone (grubhub app) and wanted onsite payment...45 minutes after we expected the original order and still at this point have not seen a manager.We paid, got our grubhub order refunded via grubhub agent (since restaurant made us pay onsite) and finally about 90 AFTER we ordered for a pickup, were back home with no manager communication and no apology.You can tell a lot about a place when things go wrong... Im kind of in the camp of the place just not being worth the hassle and most likely wont come back.
