Gulf Coast Avionics put a Dynon glass panel in my PA28-180 August 2020. I priced three avionic shops in the Tampa Fl area and they had the best price. However, price isn’t everything. Avionics Manager Sarah Smith kept me informed every step of the installation and sent photos. I had a budget and not finish with additional upgrades. When that happens I plan on having GCA do the work.

The folks at Gulf Coast Avionics are great! They did an excellent job with my Cessna 172N. I took it to them for a full panel upgrade and they made my plane beautiful again! I contracted with Gulf Coast for a completely new glass, touchscreen panel. The entire process from estimate to completion was painless, except for writing the check—and even that wasn’t too bad. Sarah Smith was a pleasure to work with. She sent progress photos every week and answered every question during the process. After completion, they gave me an instructional flight to my satisfaction. I don’t know how any process could have been any better. I really love my new panel and I strongly recommend Gulf Coast.

Our 1979 Cessna TR182 underwent a panel reno and avionics upgrade at GCA. This decision was largely determined by the online reviews of customers and finalized after an on-site visit. We presented what we wanted, then listened to their (Matts) recommendation, and came up with a great plan. Sarah (avionics manager) kept us informed throughout the process. Very satisfied. I recently had my Cessna 182’s avionics upgraded at Gulf Coast Avionics in Lakeland. I was extremely satisfied during the entire upgrade process. I initially dealt with Matt and later Sarah for the actual service/upgrade. I was contacted by Sarah for a progress report and upon completion provided with an “educational” flight to learn how to operate the equipment safely. They have a very competent maintenance staff you can trust to work on your aircraft. I have used the equipment on many cross country flights with as advertised results.

The Team (Managed by Sarah Smith) did absolutely fabulous work on an enormous job of bringing my 1967 PA30B Twin Comanche into the 21st century. Not only did the GTN 750 and 650 (With remote transponder and telligence) go in perfectly along with the EDM-JPI-960. But they also got all the circuit breakers out of the floor (The way the Comanche was designed) and up to the panel where they are visible and accessible, all without gaining weight! Its PURE ARTWORK! They also fabricated a whole new panel of powder coated aluminum, to complete the ensemble...I couldnt be happier!

Replacing an entire panel including the digital autopilot takes a great degree of technical expertise, organization, and experience. I am now about 1,600nm into a 2,600nm. cross country flight that began a week after my PA-32 had her panel replaced by Gulf Coast Avionics.....and I could not be more pleased. I will also comment that throughout the process Gulf Coast provided excellent communicationand responded to my questions promptly. I can highly recommend Gulf Coast Avionics if you are looking for avionics work to be done on your aircraft.

The team at Gulf Coast Avionics did a great job updating the panel on my 79 Baron B58. They are very easy to work with. They replace my existing steam gauges with a new Garmin panel including a new radar and AP. I would highly recommend them.

We dropped off a vintage Mooney with a plan for a face lift and wound up benefiting from Sarah’s can-do attitude and pursuit for customer satisfaction in the midst of uncovered surprises during the midst of the COVID resurgence. Over the past 15 years, Gulf Coast Avionics has been the avionics upgrade center for my Seneca III. They have completed three major upgrades for me during that time, including Garmin G500 system (synthetic vision, charts, etc), radar altimeter, GDL 69 and 88 (ADS-B), GWX 70 radar, GTN 650, G5 as a backup, GNS 530 (early on), etc. Most recently (this year) they installed a complete Electronics International electronic engine management system replacing all analog equipment. Along the way, they designed and installed new custom panels to accommodate all of the new equipment. Their workmanship is unparalleled, the customer support phenomenal and they treat their customers like family. They offer the best prices in the industry. I’m working on my commercial license and was in desperate need of a new headset. I was immediately able to purchase a Bose A20 at GCA’s booth while attending Sun ‘n Fun. I was impressed at the stock available and how friendly the staff was. They even agreed to hold my purchase for the day while I enjoyed the airshow. My headset has immensely improved my flying experience and I can’t thank GCA enough!

Ordered a yoke and throttle control that was back ordered for 2 months. Totally not GCAs fault, covid and high demands fault. They were always polite, courteous and helpful when calling for an update. We received the items before the anticipated arrival date. Highly recommend using GCA.

I ordered some flight sim controllers from Gulf Coast and one of the items had some buttons that were sticking. The manufacturer was not helpful and told me to deal with the retailer. Odd, I figure its a manufacturer issue and not a retail one, but whatever. I contacted GCA and spoke to Heather. She went out of her way to make sure I was taken care of and I have a replacement item that works great now. I highly recommend Gulf Coast for above-and-beyond customer support.

GCA just completed an IFR upgrade with GMA 345 and GNC355, linking same to my dual screen Dynon HDX Skyview system.Work is exceptional. Replacement of Aera796 and repositioning of existing GNC 255 were perfect from an ergonomic perspective.Quality of work from aesthetics to actual install were top notch.Project came in under budget and on time.Highly recommend GCA.

Purchased $1500 in “brand new” products from gulf coast avionics”. They sent me used and defective customer return products. Obviously it was intentional. Seems they hope that I won’t go to the trouble of getting a refund. Think again fellas. Refuse to even reply to my complaint at all. Just dead air. Then I noticed that they do this same exact thing to people all the time. Try to cram garbage returns down your throat as their warm impersonal thank you for choosing their shop.Some might consider that a shameful way of doing business online. Just a thought.

Superb shop. I needed an avionics upgrade for my 1965 Mooney, including ADS-B, and had shopped around a lot regarding what equipment to buy. GCAs suggestions were perfect -- far superior to what I had in mind -- and were priced well below what I would have paid elsewhere. These guys are serious about avionics. In addition to the sales staff, they have an extensive electronics lab. The install team went above and beyond the call and their attention to detail was impressive. All in all, well worth flying to Florida from Ohio.

I will not purchase from this company again. On 8/30/2019, I purchased two David Clark H10-13S headsets. Both arrived defective. David Clark helped me repair one by sending set screws for the microphone. The other headset had a loose volume knob and the mic wouldnt work. I called Gulf Coast Avionics 3 times. I left a message as instructed but did not recieve a call back. Their computer answering system gives a customer the run around and then just hangs up. David Clark Customer service advised skipping them as a middle man and dealing direct with the David Clark company.

Nothing but good things to say about Matt at Gulf Coast Avionics. Professional, helpful and quick service. Items ordered, shipped same day as order placed. Will be using them again in the future.

Bought and paid for an D.C. Pro - X headset, after I paid I was informed they didnt have the item in stock, had back ordered it and had no idea of when they would get it. AFTER taking my money.Dishonest. Take your business elsewhere

Great work installing GTN 650, GMA 345, and GTX 345 in our light twin. Work was done exactly as discussed, on time, and with lots of communication throughout the install. Avionics installations are major purchases, and Gulf Coast made us feel comfortable throughout the process.

Absolutely the worst company I have ever dealt with in aviation. I ordered (and placed a deposit) my custom panel for my Velocity at Oshkosh 2012. After a million unanswered phone calls and e-mails and at least 3 trips to Lakeland (the only way someone would actually speak to me sometimes) my panel was finally delivered (sans switch covers, labels, missing a few switches as well, etc) (actually, we had to go retrieve it) July 2013. When received, there was virtually no documentation (no circuit diagrams, etc) other than pencil marks in the margins of the various install manuals. At least 75% of the panel had been wired incorrectly and had to be redone. It took another 6 months of work to get the remaining items delivered and I never was able to get documentation or support. I still dont know where the wires for the dimmers are connected (and they dont work). While the price seemed good, it cost me double when you add the extra labor to actually get an operating panel. Not to mention the 18 month delay in getting the aircraft into the air.

I just called to confirm that an order I placed online needed to be cancelled, as I saw the product from another pilot and preferred another model. I placed the new order and sent the canc notice. I then called, and I spoke to a gal with a great attitude (obviously she doesnt sit in OC/LA traffic - LOL) who told me that she already acted on my cancellation request and after FedEx confirms, Ill be credited in a reasonable timeframe. My initial experience with the Install of my IFD540 and Transponder (along with a few other panel tweaks) was not what I would call ideal but they have gone WAY out of their way to make things right. In the final analysis, the key points are as follows:1. They did excellent work and I was extremely happy with the result. There were some hiccups with installing the ADS-B before the STC was available, but they took care of me after the install, much to their credit. (To be fair, this was an Avidyne issue...not their fault).2. Price point was great... I shopped around to several FL avioinics shops. GC does not nickel and dime and they WILL work with you to get the most competitive quote. This was great and the primary reason I went with them. This is a big deal when doing avionics!3. A minor headwind was that my logs were misplaced but they got things back on line and spent MANY hours making it right. The Company President (Rick) came onboard and personally got involved to make sure all matters were addressed. If they screw up (hey this happens in any complex install) they will own up and make it right.4. They have new nationwide customer care person (Chris) who diligently followed up and took extra care to make sure things were 100% on target AND that I was fully satisfied (he reached out to me, very unusual). Because of the issues, Chris offered additional services at no charge to make sure I was completely satisfied. If they treat other customers like they treated me, their business will grow as word gets out.Overall, the experience and outcome was very positive. They clearly care about their customers, even ones with little airplanes!
