They took really fast but they scratched my one tire

I went to Pennsylvania Tire & Auto, located at their Lansdowne location at 2319 Marshall Rd for a inspection and oil change on 8/14/21 from 8-3. Was told I had a bad wheel hub bearing front drivers side & was charged $395 to repair it. I have been back to this shop 3 times since they initially worked on my car. I called & reported my brakes were acting and sounding weird & expressed concern on 8/16/21. On 8/17/21, I left work early, the car wasn’t making the noise it had been & when assessed, the problem was not identified. After leaving my ABS light came on. On 8/19/21, I left my car at the shop from 12-4. They were too busy to fix it on this day & stated that the wheel hub bearing they installed was defective & would be fixed at no charge. on 8/28/21 I left my car there from 8 till 3. When I picked up, I heard different noises then the one before On 9/1 another mechanic showed me that there was no bolt in the caliper housing another one was loose. This was the located on the same wheel they worked on just four days prior. Two other mechanics found no identifiable damage to they old wheel hub bearing they initially replaced. When I asked for a refund, they only offered to cover the new bolts installed. I rarely complain but this was too much. What about the wear and tear put on my car not to mention, the loss of money, time and my life being put at risk! Incompetent at best, shady at worst! Beware

I forgot, yes forgot, to get an oil change or even put oil in the car last year. I wont do that again. Staff was very helpful. It was a quick process. I will be going back for my next oil change.

UPDATE: I took it to a different shop and it cost me **$160** for repairs to pass!!! I’m so glad I didn’t cough up the outrageous $1400 at Tire & Auto. I knew my car didn’t need that insane amount of repairs. They were trying to rip me off, maybe taking advantage of me being a woman and not having automotive know-how, regardless of me being a new customer.I took my car to get inspected here because they have cheaper state & emission inspection rates compared to many other shops in the area. Now I know this is because they will completely gouge you on repairs to pass that may or may not be needed. I’ve had many used cars in worse condition than my current and have never been billed anywhere near **$1400** to pass inspection. I also did the math on the itemized bill they gave me, and the parts, labor and ‘other’ costs add up to be less than what they have printed. They’re assuming the customer won’t check. When I told him I would get a second opinion on the phone after listing off everything that was wrong and ending with the astronomical bill, he was rude to me when I arrived at the shop to pick up my car. I regret not taking my car somewhere else.

Rob the best always take care of me and make sure my car is safe to go bck on the road he definitely have a passion for people and his job. His honesty never take it personal he’s only helping you

My first experience with this shop was 1/4/21 for a oil change which I came across a discount coupon on Groupon. Once I arrived there and entered the shop I was greeted by Mr. Rob & Mr. Rich their customer service and professionalism was awesome from beginning to end!!! 😊😊. They made me feel very comfortable so much so that I was able to discuss needing tires and just like that Mr. Rob said that he could make that happen, and he didnt beat over the head with the price of the tires. I went back on 1/8/21 and got 4 brand new tires and my inspection done and was taken care of by the technician Matt who also had awesome customer service.! 👍👍 I will definitely be going back to get more services done.Thank you Much,Dawn Silva

Went here for an inspection and ended up needing more work done to pass. It was a great experience and Matt was awesome while I waited for the work to be done. Id recommend this place to anybody. I plan on going back to get other maintenance done as well!

I had a Groupon for service, I came in for an oil change. I made my appointment and was greeted so politely by Larry. He was pleasant and welcoming.My oil was done, tires rotated and I was given an overview of things that I needed to get worked on. No hard sell. Larry was patient with my questions and gave me suggestions. I will definitely be going back. I’ve already have told my friends and family about PA Auto and Tires.

Been mutiple times for oil changes and always been fast and efficient with them. Gives me updates on what is needed on my car and estimates. My daughter was even able to get a free drink while we wait! Ill always return

Larry is awesome! Customer service at this place is insane! You rarely find the good ole service with a genuine smile and laughter. I was waiting for my truck to get done and had the greatest time. They did a great job on my truck as well. This was my first time here and they just inherited a new customer for all of my vehicles! Highly recommended!

The gentleman who runs the place is AMAZING. To say he was pleasant and courteous is an understatement. I had to get some holes in my tire plugged and not only did I receive great service but he also recommended some other repairs I needed without being pushy. While I waited I watched as her graciously pumped gas for elderly patrons and greeted customers by name. I wont go anywhere else for my cars. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IF you are in the Delaware County area.

This place is great! I found them on GroupOn and they were the highest rated mechanics within 10 miles so I took the trek over. Larry and Iggy were very helpful and had me in and out relatively quick. This place is run the right way. I had my oil change, tire rotation and state inspection done collectively for cheaper than anywhere else I could find. Just know this place isn’t here to rip you off. They understand a proper business builds lifelong customers and aren’t after the quick buck.

Such a good find. I needed my tire repaired. Called and they said to come over, fixed it quickly, and didn’t charge me! I’d not used them before, but you can be sure I’ll be getting gas and other services there now!

I came is for some tire info and the service manager Larry directed me in the right direction. He was very helpful and clear. Tires are not my specialty so having someone so knowledgeable went a long way. There other genetlemen, Jonny g, Tony and Danny were also very helpful as well. Check this place out you won’t regret it.

Updated review: 8/20/20Had to come on here with an update because these guys took me in right away when my car window motor broke. They also allowed me to pay them over the phone because they saw that I had been a frequent visitor over the last couple of months, and I didnt have my credit card with me when my window broke. They definitely didnt have to do that but did--what a customer courtesy! They also gave me a water while waiting because I had just come from a long run. What more can you ask for! This is one of a handful of small businesses in the area that I actually feel comfortable at. I drive out of my way to get gas here to support them. You should come and see for yourself and hopefully do the same.These guys picked up where Nick and Tom left off—courteous, honest, and hardworking. I have already been to them numerous times for gas, oil changes, inspections, repairs—all of which were handled with care. Chris, with whom I have spoken on a number of occasions, is professional and positive, something that makes the experience of going here more pleasant. I feel strongly about people who are working hard to establish a new business in the community, and these guys are doing just that! Highly recommend!

I came in and was treated to next level service. Larry at the counter is a true god send. He was extremely personable made me feel comfortable and welcomed. He offered me snacks and refreshments as well as phenamonal conversation. The work to my vechile was great and proffesionally done in a quick manner. I worked with Larry F. the senior advisor to schedule my car for routine maintenance. He could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Lead Tech Tony C worked on my car. This place is the real deal. It is the local auto place we all want, and talk about, but cannot seem to find. They have the perfect combination of the highest standards, aligned with what seems to be a genuine interest in great customer service. We all need a place to look after our cars that we trust to both do a good, thorough job and treat us well. This is the place.

This afternoon I took my car to Pennsylvania Tire and Auto on Marshall Road to have my tire plugged from what I expected to be a nail. I called ahead of time and spoke with Chris because I would be leaving on a quick lunch break. Chris was professional and helpful on the phone. When I arrived I was greeted by a very happy gentleman behind the counter who took my car right away to be serviced. After waiting a few minutes he took me to the back and showed me exactly what was wrong (nails of course!) but also showed me some other potential issues with my tires. My car was serviced in under 20 minutes and everyone was so kind and welcoming. When my car was finished and I went to pay, my invoice was zero. Not only was the staff professional and friendly they took time to engage and knew I worked at the local hospital and thanked me for doing my part. Today they were the real hero’s. It’s not about the monetary part, but the compassion, gratitude, and professionalism they exhibited today. 5 stars for sure! Thank you so much!

This is probably the most positive experience I’ve ever had at the mechanics. They walk you through everything going on with your car and provide great insight. You should definitely stop by if anything is going on with your car.

On Friday,September 11th 2020 @7a.m. I took my car to be serviced at PATire&Auto in Lansdowne Pa. for inspection and additional mechanic work. Later in the evening I called and spoke to the service manager Larry F. Since I never received a call to informed me if my car was ready or there would be a delay. Larry F.stated the parts didnt come in and my car would need to remain at PATire&Auto until the full work is done. Larry F. stated my car would be done on Sat. September 13th by 12noon and he would contact me. I never received a call at 12noon. At 2pm I went to PATire&Auto and noticed my car was on the lift. I questioned Larry F. about not receiving a call. Larry F.stated the parts for my car hadnt come in. Larry F.assured me again he would call me when my call is done. By 530pm I arrived at PATire&Auto to see my car parked in the lot and the service area is closed. Only the gas station remained open. I spoke to the gas attendant John (great guy and helped me track Larry F. down who had left the shop to go home and leaving my car).In addition I was informed my car registration and car insurance was missed placed therefore I couldnt drive my car off the lot. I spoke to Larry F. on the phone he stated my documents were misplaced. I questioned Larry F. about lack of communication, leaving the premises without searching for my car registration and car insurance. Larry F. told me that I could take my car home and come back on Monday by than my car registration and car insurance will turn up.How can I drive my car off the lot without my proper documents or paying for the car.Larry F. stated he was driving home but a minute away from the shop. Larry F. returned andhe was very 😡 with me because he had to return back to the shop and search for my documents. I watched him as he turned paperwork after paperwork over in different bins. Still couldnt find my documents. I questioned his management skills as to why he would leave the shop without reviewing work done on my car as well as securing my documents and payment.From than on the situation turned ugly. Very unprofessional Larry F. raised his voice loudly as I did too. Since I was upset that I couldnt drive my car without my car registration and car insurance and the fee for services wasnt completed upon my arrival. I took the paperwork from Larry F. hand and went outside to inspect my car on my own the work that was indicated on the paperwork as completed.Another few hours wasted while Larry F. located my documents (at last found). Next Larry F. had to submit work completed into the computer system as I patiently waited. I explained to Larry F. Im a long time customers for 20years at this gas station before he started as a manager, and never had I been treated like this. So unprofessional, disreputable, disorganized,lacking face to face customer skills and lacking pride in caring for customers car. informed Larry F. that PATire&Auto lost a customer.

Great business! Took my car there for state inspection. A few minor repairs needed to be addressed. Tony discovered a broken stud, possibly due to a different business replacing my tires. Larry was very personable, kind, and seems to enjoy meeting new people. Will definitely take my business there again in the future.

These guys are the best. Ive continued going here since Nick and Tom(the grumpy brother) decided to retire. Chris and Robert came right in and joined the neighborhood immediately. They are both knowledgeable, personable and explain everything without trying to bury you in BS. I have done most of my own work for 40 years, so I know whats going on. I am so happy that Robert and Chris decided to continue a business in our neighborhood. Thanks for the great service.

I had a great experience at this place. I showed up with two flat tires and one with a nail in it. This is my first car and I had never been to a mechanic before so I didnt know what to do. They were extremely kind to me. They took my car in, repaired my tires, and showed me the only thing that was wrong with the car, which were the dry rot in two of them. And they did it for FREE! Anyway, I appreciate them (I think Chris was his name) for actually helping me and not taking advantage of me. They were recommended to me by a friend, so I am recommending them to everyone... I will be returning!!!!

Had to take my car in for inspection and an overall check.  So I took it to PA Tire & Auto where all of my needs were met.  The staff kept me up-to-date on the repairs, provided me with an estimated cost, which the final dollar amount was very close to what was quoted to me, and they were very friendly and professional.I plan to go back to them for any future car services.

I buy tires here, they put on, in 2 days i found out they had my tires rubbing ball joints. They changed all tires again, this time in 2days I have blow out. They replaced one NOW my car rides bubbly. I call them they say we did not sell you BAD TIRES, THERE WERE NEW. but why did I have blow out then. Talking bout my front end. So they just dont CARE and put tires on whatever without inspecting first. Facts of life cost me $1600 dealing with CROOKS.

Work was done quickly and efficient gentleman named Larry was at the desk very helpful and accommodating.

I stopped in because my tire was low and I had a slow leak. The staff was friendly, courteous and professional. I was advised that my tire had a small metal piece in it, they fixed it and I was back on the road in no time.

Chris is awesome. Went in for an oil change and didnt realize my inspection lapsed. He gave me an appt for an inspection for my truck. The end of the day when I went to pick it up, he apologized that they were not able to put stickers on it because of some rust underneath the rocker panels and advised me to get rid of my 09 F150 Truck. I took it to a body shop that not only passed the truck because they said just because the rust was there didnt mean it was coming through the cab and there was no reason to fail it.

This particular gas stations prices are usually it like $0.20 above average which is extremely inconvenient. There are no other gas stations within a mile radius but if you drive an extra mile you can save $0.20 a gallon. They are prices for car repairs are through the roof. Day off also offer full service for free between certain hours but I noticed during those hours at times Ive had to get out and pump my own gas regardless. Im not too sure if they even realize that they offer full service between particular times

Super duper great customer service

First time going to this shop after I was referred by a friend. My car was making a noise every time I went over a bump and Chris was super helpful in diagnosing the problem and showing me exactly what was causing the noise. Turns out, I was missing a bolt on my break and it was hitting the rear body of my car. Chris was able to get the part and install it on my car the same day. I am really happy I came here after two failed diagnosis of what was causing the noise. The other staff were very helpful as well. Great experience.
