I stopped in here yesterday for a quick bite, and I was so pleased with my experience! The employee greeted me with enthusiasm and told me she had just made a fresh pot of tomato basil and spinach soup. I decided to have the soup, which turned out to be an excellent decision! It was deeeelicious! I the prices are reasonable, the service is great, and the environment is cute and welcoming. Definitely stop by if you find yourself in the area! I know I will!

Please please please SELL this to someone interested in running it . It was a busy shop with good food. I used to come several times a week. Then it started being closed for no apparent reason. It wasnt worth the trip to see if I might get lucky and find it open. Such a shame!

I use to go to this place all the time. The owner was one of the sweetest people in lansdowne but over the years here mental health has detoriated and shes changed as a person. I hope she can sell this place and take a much needed break for herself. Im not sure what happened but the shirley I knew was a generous and caring person.I love shirley and Im really sorry to see that shes going through a lot. The cafe is a beautiful space and under there right hands i think it can be restored back its glory.

Excellent coffee in the heart of a thriving small town business district. Fresh baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, quiche, and other cafe nibbles offered in a cozy, local art filled, family run community hub. Often the gathering place for local groups and idea sharing. Also a presence at the seasonal weekly farmers market held across the street.

To be honest, i havent been here in years. I lived in Lansdowne 8 years ago, but i still remember this Cafe. I used to sit in and drink hot chocolate and eat snacks with my friends. I cant say I know what its like now, but I can say that I miss hanging out and studying here.

This place was a local gem for years. Now it’s rarely open it’s posted business hours. My partner had been scolded twice for walking in the open front door during posted business hours, being told “we’re not open!” by owner. The food is generally good and there’s good coffee. Service varies.

This is a fantastic local gem. I love the environment and decor. Also they are super quick and their food is so good! Their drinks are also good. I highly recommend becoming a regular here or stopping by if you are in town.BUT, know what you want before you get in line. This place is kind of known to pitch a fit if you mess with their efficiency. Which is exactly why I love it!

This I had a ham and swiss cheese breakfast sandwich with eggs on toasted sourdough bread. It was delicious. The owner and cook, Shirley, is a wonderful baker and makes some of the best quiche Ive ever had. Her potato leek soup is also worth a try. The cafe is situated in the center of Lansdowne and the interior is cozy with art and photography always hanging on its walls.

Quiet, enjoyable space with art on the walls and lots of window seats. In the heart of Lansdowne. I like the coffee here, the espresso drinks are a little too sweet, so ask for little or no flavor/syrup. Food is good, not crazy spectacular, but Ive never been let down. I love sitting here in the morning and people watching.

Something is askew here. Great location, spacious interior for a cafe, information hub for local happenings, interesting, thoughtful menu, but poor, poor, poor, service. In my experience at Regency Cafe, I was berated by the owner for asking about soup.I have a dairy allergy and asked if the mushroom soup had cream. The owner started throwing pots and pans and spatted at me that she worked so hard to make the soup and had a long day. Then she challenged me saying - if I want grateful for the soup she made, I should go elsewhere. After reading other reviews on here, I deduce the owner is hot and cold. It appears that some patrons have positive experiences and others dont.I speculate those that have positive experiences frequent the cafe and never have issues or questions with their orders.Anyone else that has a question or an issue, faces wrath. Its unsettling to think about. Who wants or supports forms of bias, favoritism, inequality, and unwarranted, misplaced anger served with their latte?

Quiet and cozy cafe on Lansdowne Avenue. I like the unassuming vibe of this place. Its a nice place to work, chat with a friend or read a book. Coffee is robust but not too acidic. The pastries are fresh and some of the sandwiches have flavorful options like gruyere and carmelized onion. The prices are average to below standard cafe prices. There is a parking lot across the street for $0.25 an hour. One of my favorite spots in the area. I also love the owner! She is great and Ive never had a problem with service.

As soon as I hit the door I was asked to leave in such a disrespectful way. I had a wawa bag with a pretzel but came in to buy something because I have never had something from this cafe before I didn’t even get a chance to put my bag down before the owner yelled then demand me and my friends exit the cafe. I have never been so disrespected in my life, I feel she could have asked us in a respectful way instead of immediately yelling for us to exit the cafe, she mad a fool of her self infront of her customers and that was very unprofessional. I do not recommend coming to this cafe. If I could give zero stars I would

I used to go to this place all the time and it was great. Today I went there to do some work. I bought a small coffee and began to work. I was there for about an hour and half. Then I needed the WiFi password so I went to the owner who was the only one working and asked her for it. She then flipped out on me saying I only spent $1.75 and I should leave. I was shocked I could not believe what had happened. I was the only person in the whole cofeee shop. So I left the shop and will not return.

I work across the street every Saturday at the farmers market, I usually go in and grab something when I go to use the bathroom to support the local business. Today, I went to use the bathroom but didn’t have my wallet, and the owner (who was working) refused to let me use it, stating it was for customers only. But, she wouldn’t even talk to me about another public local bathroom, she was arguing and yelling at me, which is so rude. I then went back to my car, got $2 out of my wallet and walked back to this cafe. I didn’t want anything from the cafe, I just wanted to use the bathroom. So, I offered the owner the $2, but told her I didn’t need anything. She then proceeded to be continue raising her voice, denying me service and wouldn’t take my money. I eventually had to buy something I didn’t want or need, just to get access to a bathroom and business I usually support every week. I don’t mind that the bathroom is for paying customers only, but the rude attitude I was treated with as a patron was shocking. In my opinion, that’s no way to run a business.

I went in and ordered coffee and a slice of quiche. I paid. The cashier told me to have a seat; she would bring it out when it was ready. Then the owner came out and demanded, what are you doing in here? Waiting for a friend? Why are you just sitting there? I was quiet and sat for a moment trying to collect my thoughts - my head was spinning - what had I done to receive this treatment? I told her I was waiting for my food. She said, What food, Ill make it making it clear I wasnt welcome. So I started videotaping what happened next:She decided shed rather give me my money back. I said ok, and told her I would put this in her review - she immediately got defensive. She reached out and swatted and grabbed at my phone twice, hitting me in the face both times, then screamed that my video was illegal. I said, videotaping is perfectly legal, but it is illegal and unwise to hit your customers and try to take their stuff.I left with my money, talked to a cop about the situation. I intend to file charges of assault in the civil court - her behavior as a shop owner is shocking. If you have had a similar experience at this cafe, as Im sure you have, feel free to get in touch.

I am outright appalled at the lack of service I was given today by the counter person. This woman refused my requests, yelled at me and embarrassed me in front of her other patrons(who so happened in this moment to all be Caucasian). Sadly, this may have only been the case because Im a person of color. I made an attempt to reach out to the owners of this restaurant(by calling), as this is my first time here. But I doubt highly I will come back. This is FAIR WARNING, do not patronize this business if you feel as though you are willing to be discriminated against for common breakfast. My simple request to know where the coffee was from trigger a HUGE issue with this woman at the counter. Maybe once someone tells her this is NOT how you treat someone it may be rectified. If not, there is a dunkin donuts a block away.

For over 5 years, I frequented this cafe. I loved the decor, the food and especially the quiche until recently. I came in as I always do to work or meet a customer or potential client. I quivered with expectation of finally being able to stop in to sample one their cute quick cuisine quiche specials. Then as I quietly conducted business with my client the serene fabric of the place was broken by the owner screeching at one of her employees. My customer and I, were immediately offended that this owner would speak to anyone in her tone and mannerisms. Her disgruntled behavior was reminiscent of my children before they knew the proper etiquette to display in public as well as common courtesy given to others when correcting them.Well, little did we know that we were next on the hit list to be screeched at and scorned. It seems the cafe was in the midst of a change of art work on the walls. The owner unceremoniously asked us to move. As we were about to conclude our business, we asked if we could move in a few minutes. She mistook our response to be no and began to raise her voice at us that we were the only ones that wouldnt comply with her Demand. Because of the earlier episode, my client was shocked, offended and angered at her infantile attempt to shame us and manipulate us. She all but jumped up and down and rolled on the floor. Of course what ensued was a shouting match, we left vow never to come again while other patrons try to dissuade us that she did not mean this.As I have frequented the area many times, I spoke with close sources in the area and found out this is not the first time for such altercation with employees as well as customers. Patrons beware for you may be the brunt of her next rave.....two thumbs down and if I had more thumbs they would go there!!!!!

I am extremely disappointed that I have to write this poor review. After YEARS of frequenting this business, I was sadden and shock to hear of the behavior of the Regency’s manger/owner. Now, just for background knowledge, this customer visits this café at least twice a week. I myself stop in at least three to four times a month. Today I was horrify to find out that the manger/owner of the establishment yelled at a frequent customer who was waiting for a client to arrive before ordering anything. The manger not only publicly yelled and scolded the customer (rather loudly, l may add) but she abruptly and aggressively threw the customer out. As a community member, I am embarrassed for the town of Lansdowne. This business is not any representation of the love and respect this town has for one another! I have no interest in continuing to support this place and after reading some of the reviews, I suggest you reconsider as well.

I arranged to host a bookclub here. I emailed the owner a month in advance and thru email we arranged a time that would work for both of us. I reminded her 2 weeks before with the number I was expecting, and all was well. When we arrived today she said she was going home early and to come back tomorrow. Then proceeded to scream at me (scream). Thank goodness the great staff at the avenue deli were able to accommodate us on no notice.

NOTE: The crazy manager/owner you see mentioned in many reviews online only bought this place within the last few years. Prior to 2015, this was my favorite cafe and Id come here twice a week. That being said...I have NEVER been treated as poorly as I have been by the owner here. She screwed up our drink order this morning due to a misunderstanding on her part. When I tried to get her to fix it, she insulted me, lectured me, blamed me, and then she did something Ive never seen a service worker do before: she walked over to my seven year old daughter, took the food OUT OF HER HANDS, and threw us both out. That food was mine, it was already paid for, and this lunatic pulled it away from a child. Im telling everyone this story. This woman has always been unstable and bad at customer service, but after today I have contacted the borough to see if the community can do something about her. Shes unhinged.

I am appalled and flabbergasted to say the least. My colleagues and I sat at a table this morning for 15 minutes. My two colleagues arrived 10 minutes before me and told the waitress that they would decide on what to order once I arrived. When I get there my colleagues and I immediately jump into a conversation - the waitress never followed up to see if we were all ready to order, instead the owner Kat, walked over to us and said in a very disrespectful manner that weve been here for 30 minutes (which was not accurate), and that we can NOT sit here and just talk - she snatched the menus off the table, my two colleagues were startled and told her that they had intentions on buying breakfast (but with her disgusting behavior they wouldnt dare buy anything from her). Kat, proceeded to open the door, had the menus in her hand, motioning us to leave and yelled for us to get out! I frequent this coffee shop on many occasions. My colleagues and I are residents and entrepreneurs in Lansdowne and could never imagine treating our customers the way The Regency treated us today. I will NEVER return and I will make sure that EVERYONE I do business with in Lansdowne knows about the horrible experience I just encountered!
