I LOVE THIS STORE, MY UNCLE USED TO WORK HER BUT HE PASS AWAY LIKE 2 YEARS AGO, FRESH CUT MEATS, I WONDER WHAT EVER HAPPEN ITS BEEN CLOSED FOR 2 OR 3 WEEKS, AND THEY HAVE GOOD POP HERE,

This neighborhood party store/meat market has been here for many years. Unfortunately, there is a lot of competition with larger supermarkets in the nearby vicinity. The prices are double for what you can buy at Meijers 5 minutes down the road. This is convenient for liquor, lotto and at times, meat. Staff is friendly.

Food market and liquor store. Its owned by a nice couple who have had it for the 26 yrs Ive lived here. Excellent meat. He butchers his own. Always have what you need in a pinch.

Nice little neighborhood store a good people

Lansing (just like everywhere else) is constantly changing. Nates, and to me, this place will always be called Nates, is one of the few places that has NOT changed. It looks the same as it did 40 years ago. It smells the same as it did 40 years ago. Nates has not changed. You can still walk in and get quarter candy and those kid sized lemonheads.Nates managed to do something very few places in Lansing can. Hold on without changing at all. Bre z coin wash went under and is now empty. 7 11 turned into whatever it was called and i believe it went under. Steves Lounge turned into Augies. Even Tonys up the street at Miller and Cedar isnt the same. Sorry Tonys, youre not the same after the fire even if you retain the same name. I remember what it was like before.To the owners of Nates: youre not just an owner of a store. Youre a peice of Lansing history. I feel guilty for moving away and no longer able to buy stuff from you like i once did. Look how much the southside has changed. F&M plaza, Shell, Michigan National Bank, Pappys Pizza, Montreys Pizza, Kmart, Eberhard, Blockbuster. I could go on forever.The point is, time and change is a hard thing to stop. And yet, you have. Youve maintained in an economically depressed area. That alone is worth something.I recognize what youve done. Im proud of it, even if you get passed over and the Pulse makes no mention of you. (Or maybe they have and i just didnt see it.)But the point is. Ive been watching Lansing change all these decades, and i see this little store still remains untouched. Im glad to know there is still a place that looks the same as it did when I was a kid. I wish could support your store more. Thank you for what youve done and thank you for the memories it has given me.Sawyer will always be Edgewood, just like youll always be Nates.
