The only reason I am leaving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I have not had a chance to fully use the product. Recently I was in need of good quality leather work in a hurry. Rudy was professional, and assisted me tremendously in getting the product quick, fast, and in a hurry. Plus I got to support a Texas company. The product received was quality built, and included instructions on how to break in, and maintain. Thank you!!!!I wanted to update the product(s). The holster I purchased in March has broke in well, and I purchased a belt as well that is just fantastic. It holds the holster and fully loaded gun, as well as a cuff and magazine holder with no sag. I have two hand made saddles, and just bought two other belts made locally. I like custom leather work. They are nice belts but not like the Ranger belt Rudy made. I am enjoying the belt and have gotten several compliments already. I’m going to order my three boys each a belt. They will appreciate the custom made belts as well. Too bad there isn’t a zero star rating. I should have read the comments more carefully and recognized the padded good reviews. I contracted Rudy to make one of his off the shelf styles to fit the size I needed. There was supposed to be two small modifications to it. The holster was a beautiful finished product with one problem. The belt loop slot has a stitching all the way thru it at a 45 deg angle. This forced the belt to sit on the top of the barrel and kicked it out away from my body at a 45 deg angle. Sent an email asking why it was stitched like that and Rudy said he would fix it. Claimed he would send me a return label. After one week I hadn’t received it and emailed again. Got a return label that had already been used. 7 emails and no response. When I call I get voice mail and no return call. Apparently, if I had read all the reviews this has happen to many other customers in the past. Rudy will not fix any of his many mistakes.

I have been a patron of rudys for around three or four years. I just looked at all the reviews to see my old reveiws but could not find it.so i just ordered another item and figured i would leave another one. In the past i have ordered 2 shoulder rigs, 2 belts, 2 mag holders three and four capacity for the shoulder rigs and a stinger flashlite holder all have been far superior in leather quality fit and finnish by far over any big name mass produced leather company the difference is quite remarkable and for less money and deliverd quicker than any other custom shops.If your thinking about some gun gear give rudy a try you will be glad you did.

I just gotta say that Rudy is the MAN! Im gone for words to be honest. I think 5 stars aint enough to rate this mans work. As soon as i opened the box the rig came in, it gives you that sweet ol Texas leather smell. I could write a college paper on this but this review would go on for days lol the holster fits my Smith and Wesson TRR8 perfectly and the conchos are legit! Actually everything is legit! Rudy, your hard work really shows with your products my guy and I couldnt have asked for a better rig. Thank you 💪

I ordered a custom holster and speed-loader pouch from Black Hills Leather back in December of 2015. I spoke to Rudy directly and we emailed back and forth and I sent him detailed measurements and photos. Seven months later (July 2016) they finally arrived but were the wrong material and the wrong sizes. I called Rudy and he told me to send them back and he would either fix them or refund them. Instead, he shipped them back to me in the same unopened box and told me that I needed a return authorization number so I asked for a return authorization number and he told me that there was nothing wrong with the holster or speed-loader pouch.I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (check their site, there are several similar, unresolved complaints about this company) and it went unresolved. So now Im out over $400 and I have a useless holster and speed-loader pouch sitting in a box, taking up space.As you can see in the photos, the speed-loader pouch doesnt close and the pistol falls out of the holster. It was also supposed to be made out of alligator skin.Rudy never made good on his promise to make me a new holster or speed-loader holder, has refused to take my calls or respond to my emails, and has refused delivery of the things he sent me every time that Ive tried to send them back. Im just out the money at this point and regret not looking at his numerous unresolved BBB disputes before I tried to buy. The workmanship for these products is sub-par and the customer service is non-existent. Go somewhere else for your leathergoods. You can have your work done fast, cheap, or well-done (pick two), but you wont find quality, timeliness, or good prices in any combination here.If only I could give zero stars.

Very happy with my experience ordering from Black Hills Leather. I was a little hesitant from reading a few of the reviews, but decided to trust the many other happy customers and Im really glad I did. The BH7D holster arrived exactly as ordered, with really good instructions on how to ensure a good fit. My Taurus PT111 fits like a glove. Easy to get out, but holds tight enough that the pistol stays in even when the retention strap is unbuttoned. The spare mag is a tad loose in the holster, but after messing with it some I kind of like it. Dont want to have to fight to get that thing out if, God-forbid, I need it. After getting all the strap adjustments set it is very comfortable and conceals the pistol quite well. Customer service is great too. I had a question about my bill (thought I had been double-charged for shipping...turns out theres this thing called sales tax!) and Rudy answered it quickly and professionally. I got an email telling me my package had been shipped and it arrived 2 days later. I will definitely be recommending Black Hills Leather to my friends and family!

Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship! Received my Sheriff duty rig that I had customized with the hand tooled floral engraving and was amazed with the detailed craftsmanship and quality construction of the rig. Encountered a minor sizing issue with the belt, however Rudy was prompt and had the rig shipped backed to him and returned to me within a week. Very quality work and prompt customer service! One co-worker has already placed an order with Black Hills and several others said they would be ordering with them in the future. Pleased with my purchase and highly recommend Black Hills to anyone looking for quality leather work, especially law enforcement.

Excellent experience from the flawless sizing instructions for the belt to the required detailed firearm description for perfect holster sizing. The rig is an all around perfect fit. I normally buy ready made. This is my first custom and I will be buying custom from now on.

Rudy tells you that he stands behind his work but he doesnt. He only tells you that to get your order and money. If its wrong or doesnt fit, too bad for you. I will say that the quality of the leather is excellent and workmanship is good if he makes it correctly. The shoulder holster he made for me had things wrong with like no thumb break, poor fit of the pistol, the pistol twisted out 45 degrees away from the body making it impossible to conceal. Its too bad because I need 3 or 4 more custom holsters but they will not be coming from Black Hills.

Over the past 15 + years, Black hills has made three western holsters rigs for me. A cowboy fast draw called the Silver one. And the Drifter which is a high ride rig with a fast draw cut down the front for a faster draw for conceal carry, and the Morgan! Beautiful chestnut fast draw and reholster for hunting or on the ranch. And my Newest one, The Cisco Conceal Carry, Shown just below. Best workmanship Bar None. RUDY is the Best in the business!!!!!!!

Buyer beware. This was the worst experience in purchasing a product in my life. After many lies of a delivery date, I finally cancelled my credit card. That got Rudy Lozanos attention. If he was in a good mood when I called he would speak English. If he was in a bad mood he would act like he did not understand English and only spoke Spanish. He had one girl working there and she was obviously trained to give you no information. When his son happened to answer my request he just hung up on me.When I finally got my holster, 14 months later, it was for the wrong gun. After 7 - 10 phone calls at my expense I had to ship it back. I then received another holster, in which I had to remove loops, etc... just to make it barely functional. It turns out Black hills Leather is well known for scamming respectable customers and other companies. The holster came with scratches and was obviously used old stock. Stay away.

I received my Comfort Belt Scabbard in the time promised and it is without a doubt one of the most sturdy and comfortable holsters I own. Rudy pays attention to detail much better than the large holster companies. Will definitely be purchasing more in the future. Custom work takes a little time, but I can assure you that you wont have a better custom holster.

Took awhile for a custom order (about 3 months) and when it arrived, it was not what I ordered, although I gave great detail in what I wanted. I spoke with Rudy about it, and he cut a new holster exactly to my specifications and had it back to me within a week or so. The second attempt was perfect, and exactly what I wanted. So although it took awhile to get it right, Rudy was easy to work with and did all he could to satisfy my requirement. I would definitely buy from him again.

I just got the holster for the Sig 320 X-5 and it is great. Not only is it beautiful, but it fits perfectly.So far, Black Hills Leather is the only company that makes a holster for the X-5. I previously had one from Gxxxx, had to send it back because it was too small.Super High Quality leather, perfect stitching, heavy duty thread, stainless screws and fasteners, I cant think of anything else I could want. One of the things I like best is the magazine holders, which retain the magazines with tension screws instead of straps. I can use them for 10 round, 17 round and 21 round magazines.Once again, thanks for such a great job. You will be my leather go to company from here on out.

Rudy made a great Rig for a S&W 500 mag. The Rig compliments the revolver as much as the revolver compliments the Rig. Great craftsmanship and quality. I purchased a new belt, and would not fit my magazine pouch. I sent an e-mail to Black Hills Leather showing what the problem was. For an excellent price I placed the order. Just under a month the new leather magazine showed up in the mail. Placed it on my new belt and it was a perfect fit. AWESOME job Black Hill Leaher. I am very well pleased.

Rudy is a very good person to do business with and is a great craftsman. I had a holster made for a fairly heavy carry revolver and this holster was beyond my expectations. Makes carrying this 586-L all day feel like a J-Frame. It took a bit of time, but all custom leather does and was well worth the wait. Fit and finish are perfect, in fact this leather holster (avenger style) is molded so well the revolver locks in like it were kydex. Every bit as nice as a Mitch Rosen i have for a 1911. Will do business with Black Hills again without a doubt. Update I needed it a bit tighter and sent it to Rudy for adjustment and he added a retention screw and had it back within a week. These guys really care about their customers!

The holster is excellent quality and fit and was delivered earlier than expected and was not a holster he had made before. I have holsters from High Noon, Wright Leather, Cross Breed, and others and the quality and wait time beats then all and the price is comparable or better. This is a great company. Tired of being ripped off by pretenders like Savoy Leather? I don’t blame you. Go with a reputable company like Black Hills and stay away from Savoy. Savoy does ok work but they are never on time for delivery regardless of their promises. Black Hills will provide you with a product that is heads above Savoy. The leather is way more superior to the cheap garbage that Savoy makes your product with. Customer service that is non existent with Savoy is not found here. Black Hills stands behind their products 100% where Savoy will just give some flimsy excuse to make you feel for them instead of feeling the anger that you should rightfully be feeling...and expressing! Stay away from Savoy and go with a company that is there for you...Black Hills Leather!

One star only because zero stars was not an option. After 4 months I still do not have what I ordered, although I am out $250. After numerous phone calls and emailing pictures of my desired holster, I was assured of high quality. Finally got a delivery after about 8 weeks the item was sent, but not made as requested. More phone calls, more pictures sent (because the vendor could not find the originals) I was assured that within 5 days I would have what I ordered. One month later, I still do not have what I ordered. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS GUY!!! I have requested a refund, but I am not holding my breath.

This is for custom holster for Samsung S 9 phone. Its perfect fit and secure along with a metal belt clip. And it looks great.

If I could give a zero star rating I would, I had a terrible experience with Black Hills Leather and Rudy Lazano, first off the holster was very low quality, it looked like it had been dyed purple andh some kind of varnish put on it whick made it so stiff that there was no flexibility to it at all. I was afraid to try to bend it in fear of breaking it. Enough about the holster, when I returned it for a refund I was lied to several times and was promised a refund by this Rudy guy. To no avail I was told after the fourth time Paypal had been contacted I was told I had not paid for the holster when I sent a copy of the receipt for the price paid I finally got my refund. In conclusion Black Hills Leather and Rudy Lazano is a very unsavory bunch and stayed away from. In all it took over a week to accomplish that.

Several years ago (2011) I ordered a belt holster for my Wilson Combat custom build....got the holster within a week (it was so fresh that I had to hang it in front of a fan for a few hours as it was still slightly tacky) PERFECT fit and quality!!! I could not ask for any more. If you want top tier quality for pretty much what you would pay Galco for (nothing against them, but Rudy does custom work) Call Rudy, you will NOT be disappointed..

Paid in advance and never received the items. They created a shipping label with a tracking number but the tracking number shows it was never received by USPS. I am in the process of filing a theft claim with my credit card company. Did I mention it has been two months since the products were ordered? Good Luck!

While the company had had some extremely negative reviews, Black Hills Leather produces some of the finest holsters in the world. This is not the kind of ill fitting holster you get 2 days after ordering it on amazon. These holsters are designed specifically for your gun and retain the weapon without the thumbreak snapped exceptionally well. It took me 3 months to receive my holster after ordering but its to be expected considering everything Mr. Lozano males is handcrafted. If you dont mind the wait, order from Black Hills Leather and you will very pleased with the results.

Fantastic craftmanship, I couldnt be more pleased. Rudy went far above what anyone could expect in creating the perfect shoulder holster for my Browning Black Label .380 Pro pistol with a NCSTAR Laser/Light combo. The pistol and over-sized laser fits like a glove into the custom made holster. I hope to purchase another shoulder holster for my Beretta 90-TWO with a NCSTAR Laser with a second holster for my Browning 9mm Hi-Power pistol later this year. One rig that will accommodate two individual pistols...what more could anyone ask.

Terrible....Here is my initial email to Black Hills when I placed the order on February 14, 2019 after placing the order by phone.Thank you for speaking w/ me today. I look forward to seeing your version of the ****** ******* ***** for my CZ Rami BD as mentioned below in our previous emails.To recap:Lined cross draw holster (Rt hand left side) in black cherry coloring for a CZ Rami BD decocker version in 9mm. Holster to be used with a 1-3/4 thick tactical web belt w/ Cobra Buckle.Full sweat shield.Thumb Break.Dragon Concho.EPG initials. Here is my email to Black Leather dated 05/13/2019. I did receive the holster today, but there is still a problem. In my email of Sunday February 10th and again on Thursday February 14th I stipulated that the holster needed to fit over an 1-3/4 gun belt. The holster will barely fit over an 1-1/2 standard belt (1/4 plus too small). I can therefore NOT wear the holster as intended. The holster also does not have the dragon Concho requested. After 12 plus weeks of back and forth, I would like to return the holster for a full refund of the $175.95 ($76.95 more than quoted). Per your initial email of Wednesday February 13th the holster was only supposed to cost me $99.00. Please see the email stream below for past emails. Needless to say my experience with your company has been less than I had hoped.I have since had to request a refund from Visa and am still waiting to hear back from them. I got an email today wondering why i wanted a refund. People order CUSTOM to get what they order, period.I had the hardest trouble getting a tracking number from them. They would tell me they sent it to both of the emails I had given them and texted my cell phone, but I never got it. Lies, lies, and more lies. The first time they sent me something they mailed it to the wrong address and the post office returned it to them. It was not until the second mail attempt I actually got a tracking number when I called them.Also, the holster is NOT lined as requested in my February 14,2019 email (date of purchase).

My 3rd holster set was a tooled belt slide on for my M&P Sheild 3 inch with a tooled mag pouch to match, simply fantastic work and a super deal . My original order arrived quickly but was the wrong size for my glock 19. I sent Rudy an email and text and he called me that evening. I sent him a short video of my holster. He said he would email a prepaid label and I could send it back for an exchange. A couple days later he emaile the label and I returned the holster and mag carrier. I told him what I wanted and he said he would mail me the replacements. I had the replacements about 3 weeks later. I can only speak to MY experience with Blackhills and it was all positive. Rudy called, texted and emailed me. The fit, stitching and detailed boning were excellent. I had an issue with the initial order and he promptly made it right. The holster and carrier are high quality. I know hand tooled and formed leather is time consuming. I am very pleased with the final product and how he corrected a minor issue. Thanks Rudy.

I was looking for a vertical shoulder holster for my Remington R1 1911 Hunter 10mm, this led me to contact Rudy at Black Hills Leather. Rudy told me he could make a vertical shoulder holster, I was a bit hesitant, let several months go by before I finally placed an order.Now I have several shoulder holsters made by Brand X for my Colt Defender and Sig Sauer P320. I thought these were the best shoulder holsters at the time.I finally get my vertical shoulder holster, I pull it out of the box. WOW! This is made with heavy leather unlike Brand X! The shoulder straps are wider and much thicker than Brand X. The holster and mag holder is made with heavy leather. No way will this shoulder holster ever break or tear. The quality and craftsmanship are second to none! I love my shoulder holster from Rudy at Black Hills Leather.I’ll soon be ordering a shoulder for my Sig Sauer P220 SAS.Thanks Rudy!!!

I was referred here from someone on Facebook a couple years ago when I was briefly on that waste land. I ordered a shoulder rig for the .357, and was immediately impressed with the quality. I have since ordered another for my EDC and one for my son. Most recently a new OWB weapons light compatible for newest item in my daily carry arsenal. Quality is unbeatable, just dont be in a hurry. :)

I have bought three holsters from Black Hills Leather. The first was a BH333 customized western rig for mu Ruger Redhawk with a seven inch barrel. This holster is perfect, I love wearing this holster. I have received several comments when I wear this holster in public. The second holster I bought was a BH55 basket weave for my stainless steel Judge with a four inch barrel. This holster is even comfortable wearing when Im driving which surprised me. The third holster was a BHMRC-D for my S&W model 60 Performance Center with a three inch barrel. This holster is beautiful and the workman ship is second to none. I am still learning how to carry inside the belt but, its not the holsters fault. I ordered a BH 75 high ride with matching double magazine holster for my Sig. P229 in .40 cal./.357 Sig. I can hardly wait. I had to wait a little longer than was first promised for these holsters but, the workmanship and quality materials Rudy uses makes it worth it.UPDATE.. I have received the holster for my P229 and it is great. Thanks BHL and Rudy. I really want a detailed shoulder holster with a 2 magazine case for my 1911, .45 acp

Ordered a custom item. Store owner gave a timeline and never adhered to it. Their claim was that local customers expected items to soon even though I was only expecting my item because of the timeline given to me by them. After several calls my item was finally complete. The item was of sub-par quality and I strongly believe they made it like that out of spite. The cuts were crooked and un-even and didnt match up. I will not be ordering from them again. I now have to look for a shop to fix the mess they made.

When I ordered my holster I talked to Rudy and he handled everything right as promised. It was delivered on time and exactly what I ordered.

I ordered a holster on March 16th. As of May 1st nothing. I made 3 phone attempts to speak with them, and sent 2 emails with ZERO answer from them. I opened a case with PayPal and asked to cancel and receive a full refund. 3 days after I opened a case with PayPal I got a call from Black Hills Leather wanting to verify my address. Then I was sent a tracking link that was issued May 11th. It is now May 13th and the tracking number does not show that a package has ever been picked up from them.05/16/2016 I have now received the holster. The quality of work looks great and the product is what I ordered. I originally gave Black Hills Leather a 1 star, and that is because of the total failure to communicate with me until I requested a refund through Pay Pal. I find it troubling that in order to get any response I had to cancel my order.I am happy with the product so now I give a rating of 3 stars.The product is great and as expected, but the customer service is very poor. As long as you know this before you choose to do business with Black Hills Leather, then I guess you know what you are in for.

Ordered a custom holster. Was told by Rudy it shipped this past Friday, Dec. 19th. But refuses to provide me with a tracking number. I am sure this company is not listed with the BBB. Lots of promises but no action.
