Never a bad day when I get to visit Ralph at Alternate Reality! What a Fantastic Comic shop! I would give this place 10 stars if I could.

One of the best comic locations in the Las Vegas area by far. When you enter the store for the first time like I did today, everything popped out at you and made you want to see what was going on. It’s a remarkable way to run a business and to create that inviting atmosphere. To top it off, Ralph was amazing on assisting me with showing me some good reads and would highly recommend talking to him about anything comic related as he was extremely kind and helpful with doing that. Thanks for the awesome first experience!

I love this place. Its a must stop every time Im in my home town. Culture and tradition in the store. Ralph is A+ and really is about community. Lots of selection. New Issues, back issues and trades. He has it all. Lots of parking, however very busy lot. So park out some for easy departure. 2 entrances from the main corners. Great prices and well organized. Follows all safety covid protocols. Webpage and pull boxes available. Highly recommend this comic book store. Very big on supporting local artist. This is a Vegas stop for sure.

This place was amazing! Went there today and can definitely say it was one of the highlights of my trip. They have everything you could want, and you can get lost there for hours searching everything. The comics are also super high quality and well maintained. The owner was extremely nice and helped me when I was searching for something in particular. I’m from Puerto Rico and the content could be limited, but in this store, they have a ton of Marvel comics, DC comics, graphic novels, manga, and even more! If you’re interested in comics at all, this is a must. Will definitely go there again!

Whenever I visit Las Vegas, I go out of my way to stop in at Alternate Reality Comics. Hands down one of the best comic shops Ive ever been to, and Ive been to an awful lot of them.

Nice place and the owner was friendly enough, nobody asked if we needed any help, the place felt like a maze to go through and we felt we couldnt really find anything without looking at everything, not a bad place but not our favorite, just didnt feel a good vibe when walking in, definitely should stop by and visit it but this is definitely not our go to store.

Alternate Reality Comics is the real deal. They have a fairly complete and eclectic selection of books and they seem to stay on top of the best new books coming out. Ive encountered their staff (and I think the owner) at various comic events around town and at their own Free Comic Book Day event (which was awesome, btw) and they all seemed pretty cool. The owner (I think) talked me into an amazing series at one such event and I came back to buy basically all of the available trades from the author. This shop has some amazing memorabilia and artwork (its maybe worth a stop just to check that stuff out). If this place were closer to my house (and I had actual free time) Id probably be in all the time. I will say that the prices on my chosen vice (trades) sting a bit; its hard to feed the habit at full cover price. I imagine this is just a business reality though as its certainly been a tough year/decade for comic shops in the Vegas area (well, everywhere, I guess). Basically, Id say you should come looking for quality not discounts (youll certainly get the first and you might get lucky on the second). For my part, I try to prioritize/limit my online purchases to those books with the steepest discounts and then visit Alternate Reality (and other shops) to fill in the gaps (and maybe/hopeful even find something new). I say you should never leave a shop without buying at least one book. Anyway, give this place a look... Its worth your time.

Best comic book store in the city!

Amazing comic store! Best one I have seen in Vegas and probably one of the best I have seen ever. The owner is super friendly and knows a lot of his trade. Best thing is that they have a huge selection of comics by the best writers in the medium like Alan Moore, Grant Morrison, Warren Ellis and many more.Keep up the amazing job guys!

I was in Las Vegas on vacation and stopped into Alternate Reality. I had a great experience from the moment I walked in. I met the owner Ralph who was very helpful and great to talk to, he shared with me about his own experiences collecting. The store is set up with a large selection of dollar comics as well as both modern and vintage books at great prices and Ralph gave an added discount as well. They have some t-shirts, figures, and interesting artwork. I walked out with some cool books and a Stan Lee autographed framed piece. Will definitely stop in my next trip to the area.

Not a overly friendly place

Very much like this place. Its clean, has lots to look at, unique touches, and even a sitting area and beverages. If I lived in the area, Id become a regular. One note: Google directed me behind the store near a 99cent place... Its in the front of the next row of buildings/shops.

A great shop - besides the standard stuff, theres a curated staff picks section to help you find cool indie stuff. The owner knows comics upside and down, and hell talk to you about finding anything you might like. The shop itself is tapped into the local comic scene, so theres a decent community aspect to it, too.

I have been looking forward to visiting Alternate Reality Comics for months now, since learning I would be joining my wife for her work trip to Las Vegas and looking up hobby shops in the area.Though the vibe I got from the website was promising, the actual experience of exploring the store and spending over an hour visiting with owner Ralph was far-and-away the best time I have ever had in a comics shop.It is a TRUE comics shop. While there are some Funko Pops to be had, and a handful of board and card games, the focus is on the rich diversity in the comic book medium.Thank you, Ralph, for making my morning and the 3-mile hike more than worth it!

Nice place, had the Green Lanterns I was looking for. Managed to pick up a lot of what I was looking for. My first 50 of the 90’s Green Lantern is almost complete.And they even had Crossed on the shelves. Would recommend this place and will be back when I come back to town.Thank you for the good experience.

This place is for people who want to read comics. Not just a trendy place to sell over priced toys.

Went to this comic shop three times during my recent trip to Vegas for a marathon. Totally enjoyed my time wandering around Ralphs shop. The owner and his staff were really friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend anyone looking for back issues and a good place to spend your time. So lucky to find ASM 134 and other old gems. Would love to come back to this store if Im in the neighborhood.

Ive been buying from Alternate Reality Comics for over 10 years. As stated, the collection is very comprehensive. Even more comprehensive is the owners, Ralphs, knowledge of comics! You can ask the guy about nearly everything. Hes very up to date, and you can ask him if a comic is good; hell tell you honestly, saving you time and money.The deals are comparable to every other store Ive been too (with Maximum Comics beating a few deals). On top of this, theres a good range of merchandise. Theres a very good atmosphere for comics. In the past few years, Ralph has somehow managed to gather quite a few artists and writers to hang out.Highly recommended.

My sons and I always enjoy visiting A.R.C. We visited yesterday at opening and bought store t-shirts which are beautiful, cool and colorful. Ive been wanting to support the store and Ralph finally had store shirts in stock for us tall guys. Ralph is very friendly and knowlegable and can answer all your comic book questions. One of the best if not the best comic book store I have been to. Its organized very well lots of selection on back issues graphic novels and action figures. The staff is great they answer questions and chat with you wand I love to chat about comics :).The store looks very nice. They have really cool alternate reality shirts for only $10 I got one. I really suggest you check this place out.

Loved this place! It may be a little small, but the curation is top-notch. I enjoyed the inclusion of a strong LGBTQ+ section, as well as a robust shelf full of Image and other smaller comic publishers.

Very friendly, great selection! I only had 15 minutes to browse but could have easily spent an hour or more. Epstein the Ska Lizard is a great mascot, too. If Im ever back in Las Vegas Ill be shopping here again for sure.

I was able to visit 2-3 comic stores while in Las Vegas for work, and found a lot of cool stuff and well priced back issues. This is the only store I bought from, and I walked out with a couple of key books below book value.

Alternate Reality is super clean, well organized, brights, colorful, and filled with a variety of comic books, graphic novels, art, and even a few art books. It has a diverse range and you will find something for everybody. Family friendly as well as a safe space. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. You will LOVE this store.

Visited during our trip to Vegas and it was well worth it. Love the layout of the store, get a nice look at all the available comics and trades. This comic shop is incredibly well-stocked and very well-organized. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable but also content to let you browse, offering a great atmosphere for shopping. Best comic shop we visited in Vegas and vicinity.

Got a fair price and a lot of information on some of my comic books i had for sale.

Alternate Reality Comics features quality works from a diverse range of genres. Most other comic shops in the area are predominated by superhero comics, and their handfuls of alternative comics tend to be on the lower-end of quality. Alternate Reality is a bit of a drive away for me, but always worth the trip. The storefront is very fun and inviting, and the layout of the store is very open and has many displayed covers for easy browsing. They feature works from local artists in a small gallery section in the back of the store, which is always fun to check out. Their discount sections are worth a browse for more obscure titles on the cheap.

Unless I’m missing something, and I may be, this place isn’t all that good unless you want TPBs. I saw LOTS of them. But their selection of comics was much smaller than anywhere else I’ve ever been. They have racks of currents all over, mixed in with TPBs of every variety. I wanted to try an out-of-town shop and was really hoping for a much larger selection of comics. Was pretty disappointed in that respect. I asked about variants and was told they basically had a single box. I’ve never seen that. I did end up buying a few books on my wish list. But looking thru their stock I realize that I had to be very careful; a lot of their books aren’t boarded and many aren’t even bagged. Lots of dinged corners and small rips.Like I said maybe I’m missing something. But it’s a small shop so unsure what I may have missed.On the plus side the place, on a weekday evening, was pretty busy. Their clientele seems to really enjoy being there which is a good thing.

One of the best comic book shops on the east side. If you are close to UNLV, I highly recommend stopping by. They got a great selection and good volume of Indie titles.

Nice place

Been going here for years. Whats not to like? Ralph, the owner, is knowledgeable and honest. The larger location is great. Almost all the people who come by for events are on the level. I have been through all of the stores in this town, including the now long closed ones (Remember Cheeseboy Comics?) and this is the one I will always return to. They have my loyalty.

It was great while it lasted. But lately over the last few months theyve been consistently messing up by forgetting items in my order. Its gotten to the point that I dont feel like I can trust this store anymore to make sure I get the comics Im looking forward to. Mostly disappointed because I really did like and appreciate this shop for over a year now.

Omg wowwwww this place brings you some great classics in comics. Now you see all these in the theater like The Avengers and Iron Man but back in the day this was what you read if you loved those characters. Amazing store and of you have any question they know it like true comic book experts. If you have kids take them too. Just great stuff.

So on a road trip from New York visiting Vegas, in need of comics so I stopped in this shop, the owner is the coolest even service Donuts and coffee and has more Indie comics than shops that I go to in New York cant wait to get back there in March if youre out in Vegas stop in its also like a comic book art page museum inside.
