More like Ice Cream Nay!!!!My granddaughter and I visited for the first time, and we entered the place to have 1 out of 3 employees hit us with a barely audible hey.We were the only patrons in the ice cream store at the time and they were all doing absolutely nothing.I had to say this is our first time so tell us how this works. The young man explained that they could do a vanilla ice cream base and mix any topping in with it.I asked for sprinkles and gummy bears to only get vanilla ice cream in a cup with sprinkles and gummy bears on top. So, EPIC FAIL... & when I asked that it be infused into the ice cream as he explained to my granddaughter and me... He acted as if we were bothering him. Go figure! So, last but certainly not least... We wont return due to the terrible customer service and the store being completely FILTHY!!!!
The matcha ice cream was amazing!! I wish I would have ordered it it for myself. I ended up getting the fruity pebbles ice cream which was good, but I dont think Ill order it again. One thing was that the ice cream melted really fast. I had to eat it quickly and still got it all over my hand.Im curious on all the other flavors now!
This is a nice ice cream place to go for something a bit different. They offer cones that are slightly flavored. I selected a red velvet cone. They have limited ice cream flavors but these can be combined with mix ins to make several dozen different combinations.Their portion sizes are very generous which helps make the higher prices more reasonable.Overall a nice experience even on a winter day. The cones make for great photos.
Been wanting to try this place as we have been searching for matcha soft serve ice cream place! We were out of town but visiting Kansas and found this place. Got it twice because we enjoyed the matcha soft serve so much on the first day!Got to say the second time was not as enjoyable, but still great and would recommend the matcha soft serve. Ube soft serve was good as well, but liked matcha better
Yummy ice cream! Servings are big. Would probably just get one cup next time to share with my husband
I do not understand why this ice cream shop is so popular. Dairy Queen quality soft serve meets breakfast cereal toppings. Boba straws and poky sticks are fun but not $6 a serving fun. Tasty, but not ‘wait outside in a long line for 20 min.’ tasty. Go to Sylas & Maddy’s where they put more real toppings in real ice cream. Park place is gorgeous and close to a little park and fountain. Plenty of seating outside. The shop is minimalist modern which is very trendy. Any place would offer bigger shakes. Also, it’s hard to find parking. Pretty but not worth it. Employees Looked unhappy and the shake machine & counter was covered in splashed ice cream. The rest of the store was immaculate. They took time to make each cone perfect. Whole Reese’s cups and whole chocolate chip cookies were nice. Fresh strawberries were good.
First visit and they had soft serve only (so no ice cream), they claimed the could not do twist flavors of any kind with the soft serve and they weren’t doing shakes (no explanation on this one). Chocolate soft serve tasted like coconut and was gross. Soft serve was very very soft almost like it wasn’t frozen all the way and started melting instantly. It’s was only 75 degrees outside. And to to it all off it’s a bit pricy. Won’t be going back.
Slow service but great ice cream.
Got the Oreo dream in a cup. It was just plain Oreo ice cream. With pocky sticks. But the cup was over flowing I couldn’t even eat it cause it was over flowing onto the disgusting tables and just sliding down. Unfortunately hipped up
Staff is slow. Place doesnt look inviting. Ice cream creations do not seem all that spectacular for the price. I most likely will not return in the next few years....😬
It was 100 degrees today, so perfect day for ice cream. My daughter and I loved it. I had vanilla with Reese cups and she had chocolate. The only thing I wasnt thrilled with is that they just stuck the entire Reese cup in the ice cream without chopping it up. It was a little awkward to eat that way, but still delicious!
The selections are great and creative. It draws a good crowd and serves amazing ice cream. Located centrally, this is one heck of an ice cream parlour. Service was amazing too, would love to return again!
The ice-cream is good. But they cant serve it well.First I got the strawberry shortcake in an artisan cone. I ate half, the rest melted in my hands.Next I got the same, but in a cup.Again, I ate half the rest melted on my shoes. They have such a small cup for 3 scoops of ice-cream, its laughable.
It is nice to have an ice cream shop that stays open late. This is a place with not a lot of flavors, but they have some fun mix ins and they make you ice cream look nice.
Im just never impressed with this place. Kind of inventive flavors but mostly its an overpriced ice cream store staffed by teenagers. Maybe just go to Freddys instead?
The ice cream was nothing special, and it seems like theyre more concerned about presentation and Instagram-ability than anything else. The cups are way too small for the amount of ice cream you get, so as soon as it starts melting (which it does very quickly) it just overflows everywhere.
Aesthetically pleasing but melts too fast. Still fun tho. Def get a cup of you get a cone. The cream melts like a river so eat it fast.
I tried the chocolate wasted in a cup and it was disappointing. It was watery and overpriced. My mom got matcha soft serve, which she liked. I really dont understand why this place is so popular. You could find better ice cream literally anywhere else.
Tried the Ube ice cream - dont let the strange name keep you from it. Its delicious!
I went with a group and all of our ice cream was dripping every where before we could even get it out the door. It was melting before when they handed them out. One of us got chocolate soft serve and it was so sour it tasted rotten. He went back in to tell the staff and they apologized but would not give him a refund or get him something different. They also continued to serve it to other guests after he told them it tasted spoiled. The other ice creams we got were nothing special, not much flavor. They also refused to give us a receipt for our purchase and said they don’t give them to anyone. All in all, we would not recommend this place and will definitely not be returning.
So very Yummy! The young ladies that work there were very accommodating and helpful. Youd be Crazy not have Baes...
Delicious ice cream, limited bar style seating inside but there is an outdoor area with seats. The ice cream looks fun and tasty in the cups. The normal size is a pretty generous portion come but there is a kid size as well.
Amazing Ice cream. will be back many times
Great presentation but its still just ice cream.
Cool vibes and great area to walk around and close to skating rink, ice cream is good not amazing but could’ve just been what I ordered. Definitely would go again to try something else. A bit pricey as well but portions are good.
By far the best ice cream in regions, states, and years! Was very spectical of prices and if it was worth it, bc it is a bit pricey for some, but the best ice cream ive had in YEARS! I felt like a kid again and the options are ao unique to any tates, young or older! So great. 😋
Ice cream was pretty tasty but the customer service ruined it for me
Cant begin to describe how amazing this place is! Will always be a stop whenever were in KC!
This place is delicious!I’ve been here a couple different times and have tried an assortment of ice creams. The UBE is to die for! The ice cream is great quality for the price. I’m not sure if they still offer their milkshakes but they are also very tasty! Since it’s in the plaza it can be hit or miss with busier times. Only downside is I just wish it wasn’t so far away from us.
We enjoyed the flavors and awesome patio/green area near by!
A nice little modern ice cream shop with prices better than baskin robbins. The staff is also very friendly.
Omgggg LOVE THIS PLACE!
My favorite local ice cream place!! I get the nothing but your average s’more. Its amazing
Ive tried the shakes the macaroons everything is so freaking good Love their location in leawood and also and made kc The best ice cream it completely tastes homemade
I cant even begin to explain how good this ice cream was. My order was pretty plain, but it still made for an incredibly tasty and a very instagramable treat. If youre on the plaza looking for some good ice cream, I would definitely reccomend Ice Cream Bae
We drove 30 minutes to get here to try it out. Your website says you close at 10pm, your hours on your door says 10pm, however the doors were locked and there was no explanation. There was someone inside but she never answered the phone or came to the door.
A million+ flavor combos? Its worth the trip for a snazzy insta pic if nothing else...but dont get it twisted, tastes just as good as it looks! Started with a lavender cone, filled it with vanilla bean ice cream they then blended with the cinnamon toast crunch I picked (the first of the two toppings youll pick out), and topped it with lucky charms mallows.. oh yeah, Bae has all the dank-danks just waiting to be discovered 👍🏾👍🏾
The line was out the door and around the corner so we did not get any.
Needs more plant-based/dairy-free options!
This place is for hipsters. They stared at my family and I the whole time. I practically had to be rude just ask a question about a cookie (like I was waiting there and no one would acknowledge me so I interrupted a cashier while she was finishing checking someone out). I said this place is for hipsters because the offer big city looking ice cream like why ya gotta be all fancy and pricy for a little bit of ice cream?! Suffice it to say, we went to Cold Stone and got their biggest size for about 8 bucks..
Fast And Friendly Service,Delicious Ice Cream Would Recommend!
My lady truly enjoyed the oreo milkshake. Hidden gem
Excellent service and delicious ice cream
The ice cream was good but the process was pathetic. Go here only if you have enough time on hand as there is literally only one ice-cream making machine which takes forever to make a single order. In a small shop like that they should really look into a token system for waiting, given that your order takes about 45 minutes to be prepared.
Lots of fun topping/cone choices and some pretty fun and helpful employees. Delicious ice cream but I wish there were more fruity flavors!
We ordered a make your own with chocolate ice cream, a fruity pebble shake and Cinnamon Toast Crunch ice cream. It was all amazing, great portions and price. The staff was helpful and friendly even though we had no idea what we were doing. The location is tricky to find, it’s in Kansas City makers market but once you go in it’s an awesome place. Sort of like a indoor market.
Loved the matcha ice cream!!!
Honestly, I could rate this a 3.5 out of 5. My initial review on FB “ I came in and waited in line. The employee apologized and said it would be a moment he would need to wash some dishes. That was completely fine and understandable. When he came back he looked at my family, and then back to this girl who cut in line. He promptly took her order and waited as she took her time to decide on what she wanted. He continued to look at us in an apologetic way. If wanted her business before us, then he can have. We went across the street to Shake Shack. Check them first before you waste your time with awful service!” Shortly after the company reached out to me asking for more information when this occurred (1/18 around 4PM). They stated that my family and I could come back in, reference this issue, and next treat would be on them. I wasn’t looking for a handout, but I really appreciate the company reaching out so quickly. I leave two stars because I rate based on Customer Service, Taste, Presentation, Price, and Location. I don’t live near KC, but next time I am up in the area, I may give it a second chance! I’ll update then.
Omg this place is so cute☺️. Inside the Made In KC Marketplace. It’s connected to the boba bros place. They have specialities. I got the ube specialty and it had fruit loops I believe. The machine they use to make the ice cream is fascinating lol. They even put crushed fruit loops into the ice cream so it’s throughout and just wow. VAAAOOO. They put this sour straw candy thing in the cone too, and it just complements the ice cream perfectly. I love it. It tasted so good. And the colors and aesthetic are mmmm👌. Wow. More baes 🍦
1st time going and it was an awesome date for me and my boys. And it wasnt expensive. Definitely going back
Ice Cream Bae is located at the Plaza, inside the KC Marketplace. It was definitely a cool spot inside, with tshirts and other KC memorabilia for sale and bar area. It was hard to find being located inside another store and the a tad pricey for ice cream. They do have amazing concoctions and flavors, I will have to try. It was delicious ice cream, very fresh, I got the fruity pebbles cone, and all the fruity pebbles had maintained there crunchiness(if you eat this type if cereal you know how fast they get soggy!) Laid back, casual atmosphere. Definitely a fun place to go for delicious and giant ice cream creations!
The ice cream was really good and it is worth to mention that the ice cream place is inside this cool small schooling center. The ice cream in particular is a bit out of the norm as they use a lot of cereals to complement it. My first time I had difficulty understanding how to put the ice cream together as the choices are different than what you usually would get at a ice cream shop. However it was great. If you like different approach to ice cream this is the place for you.
The creamy ice cream creations and the cookies will keep me coming back. Oh the Yum!
The ice cream was very delicious
I took my grand kids here this past weekend and it was great. They all got cereal mixed ice cream concoctions and were so happy. Thanks to you guys
🥰🥰my shake was great omg awesome and the ladies were soooo sweet excellent experience and service ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Truly unique boutique ice cream experience! I never would have thought to add cinnamon toast crunch to my ice cream before, but Im definitely a fan and highly recommend it. Pairs extremely well with the crispy waffle cones. 👌 Staff was very kind and patient with indecisive first-timers like myself!
Went here with my friend a couple weeks ago and we both got awesome ice cream! the matcha one is amazing and there’s also one that tastes just like Trix cereal. a little pricey but they literally make everything on site a fresh. 100% recommend.
The pics are way cooler than the real thing and out of the 3 guys working only 1 knew what was really going on around there. The menu isnt clear....including me, there were several people just staring at the board trying to figure it out. The ice cream was good, but the same can be purchased elsewhere for a cheaper price. My husband got a fruit smootie....super tart, if you like that kinda thing.
Visited them in the iron district to try their Ube and coconut vegan ice cream for the first time. My family and I absolutely loved it!!!! We havent had better anywhere in Kansas City. We were told they will soon have another vegan flavor also, and they have strawberries, mini Oreos, and Teddy Grahams as vegan toppings. We will be sure to patronize them again when we are in the area. Thank-you both for serving us!
I was able to try the Joes BBQ ice cream while they had it. Delicious! Everything is so good!
Very expensive.
Delicious ice cream creations! So many combinations. The staff was so nice. We sat outside and enjoyed our dessert but there is inside seating also.
I love gimmicky stuff as much as the next guy but they took it to the next level. I ordered one of those instagrammable ice cream sandwiches and it was pretty legit. Id definitely return in the future.
It was good. The dude working there asked me three times if I wanted a cone, I said yes. He gave me my ice cream in a dish.
Ice cream is delicious
