2 stars? Why you may ask.The suit alone would garner a 5 star, I loved the fit, the look, and the process. I got a great 3 piece suit and a shirt for my wedding a few years ago.The reason for not 5 stars? Customer service after the suit.I was told that they would be there for lifetime adjustments (nothing crazy but to take the waist out if my workout habits slack a little). Well 3 years later when I called for that very reason, I was told that they never offered it. I could be wrong, but I specifically went with this company for that very reason since other ones I researched did not offer those adjustments.The other reason was the referral credit. They offer a percentage to you after your referral purchases a suit. Well I referred a friend, he got a suit, and I was told that I had a credit of over $100.What wasnt explained till later was that you can only use that credit to buy a full suit. I was really hoping to use it for just a nice pair of slacks but I was told I couldnt. I mean, I get the business practice, you want me to spend more money, but it wouldve been nice to know that upfront when they first mention the referral credit.

Im the kind of person who loves to always be in a suit, i dont need a reason ill just wear one as often as I can and I can honestly say Ive never worn a better suit or had such an amazing experience buying a suit. The guy was very helpful and treated me almost like a friend, you dont get this kind of service anywhere else. I will definitely be going here everytime I need a new suit from now on

My wife and I met with Trapper Roderick to custom fit me for a suit. The consultation and fitting process was very informative and helpful. The suit and custom shirt we ordered arrived almost precisely when we were told and was as ordered. The fit and finish was IMPECCABLE. Not a single further alteration was needed. Trapper has an eye for detail and as a very discerning buyer, the whole experience was impressive and thats not easy to do with me. I will be returning to Trapper for any high end clothing needs in the future.

Trapper has been amazing to work with. Very knowledgeable about everyone his products and his ability to get a true fit. Will use him for all of my clothing.

Great Product. Great Service.Fitting was a little off at first but True Gentleman wouldnt let me be satisfied with anything other than perfect. They helped me through the whole process. It was great. And now that I have a perfect fitting suit and all measurements were taken, I can just reorder different colors and fabrics over and over again.

True Gentleman made my wedding suit, and it turned out PERFECTLY. Not only did I get tons of compliments, I was amazingly comfortable the entire day. I thought True Gentleman was the real deal after I bought a few pair of pants from Trapper, and received them in a timely manner (two weeks after the four weeks he told me they would be ready). They were great pants and fit well. I went back for a single pair of pants that I was wanting for a meeting in two months, which I stated. He already had my measurements and I paid him right on the spot. They will be here in 3-4 weeks, closer to four weeks, he said. I was completely fine with that because I didnt need them for two months. After six weeks had passed, I started contacting him and received no response...several times. After the date I needed the pants (two months from when I ordered/paid him) I continued to contact him because I wanted my pants. Finally, I heard something from him - he forgot to place the order because it is such a small order and not worth his time. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and told him I still wanted my order. He told me that he is placing the order as we speak. Well...a month went by and I heard nothing, not a word about the status or anything. I kept trying to contact him and finally I received a response with just excuses. I was very nice for the whole ordeal. After contacting him several more times and still no pants, I asked for my money back. I had to request this three or four times. Finally, I heard back from him and he told me to go elsewhere for business because it was not worth his time. True, it was only one pair of pants, but he already had my measurements and just needed to send them in. His previous business partner is a friend of mine and told me its just an email with the measurements, color, and its ordered. After five months from the order, I have not received my pants or money back. I still continued to call and text him but never received a response. Finally, a few weeks later, I received a text that asked me for my address so he could drop the refund off. Then he told me he was going to leave the check with some pants in my mail box from one of his previous order for me to try on. I told him I didnt want pants and just a refund. I got my refund (FINALLY) but I didnt want the pants and they didnt fit. I tried to contact him several times to pick up the pants and he never responded. I still have the pants and may donate them. Did I mention he was a friend of mine and I still got this service? I would not recommend doing any business with True Gentleman.

I went to True Gentlemen for my first custom suits. I made an appointment and was the only customer there. The guys were quite helpful taking me through the process from selecting styles, materials, colors and even buttons. Several weeks later, they brought them to my home for a fitting then quickly made some needed alterations. I think I look great in them. My thinks I look awesome! I recently returned for a sports coat. I would highly recommend them.

Please do yourself a favor and go to True Gentlemen Custom suits is you’re looking for an affordable and stylish custom suit. Lead time is around 3-4 weeks. In my previous experience work ordering custom suits (from another company that shall not be named), not only does it take months to get them back but when I would get them back the sizing and fitting would be completely wrong and I would have to make 2-3 different alteration appointments to get it to fit properly. At True Gentleman my suit arrived quickly and it needed only one small adjustment to the sleeves (which I think is pretty reasonable because your new suit is getting made from scratch for the first time for you). Once your measurements are all dialed in you can order new shirts and suits at any time and they fit perfectly. I just ordered a second blazer from Trapper (the owner) and the fit is perfect and it needed no alterations.You also get to choose a custom interior for the suit jacket and they have hundreds of options to choose from. It’s fun customizing a suit, especially one that makes you look sharp! Go see Trapper in Sugarhouse. He’ll make you look like a boss.

I came in to True Gentleman when I was getting married because I wanted to be the best dressed groom. The suit Trapper and I designed from the littlest things like the thread used for the buttons to the pattern used for the suit was decided and I couldn’t have been happier. The suit turned out amazing and every single person was jealous. I highly recommend Trapper and the guys over at True Gentleman for any suit needs for any occasion.

I used True Gentleman to design and tailor a custom suit for my wedding. Even though this was a very large expense for me, I was probably one of the lower paying of Trappers clients. That being said, I wouldnt have been able to tell the difference with how well Trapper treated me. He made sure everything fit me well and guided me through the whole process. My suit coat wouldnt fit quite right after a few alterations so he made a completely new one for me, free of charge. Trapper worked with my own schedule to make sure that he was always at the store to meet me. Everything was ready just in time for the big day. If you want a high quality suit, a great customer experience, and have the money to pay for it, then Trappers your guy.

I was really impressed with True Gentleman. I was fitted for a few shirts and pants. The pants came back slightly tight on my calves. The staff adjusted my pants, and only a couple days later, I was able to go pick them up. When I returned, they fit perfectly. I will definitely be back!

I made an appointment with Jade clear back on April 18th for a wedding suit. He was a nice guy, very professional, easy going, got everything done in a timely manner, kept checking up on me making sure the appointment worked out with my schedule and everything, got all the measurements done, and said the suit would be ready in a month and that they would keep updating me on the status of the suit. A month goes by and I haven’t heard anything at all, so I text Jade and he said that he had actually quit the company and that he would get in touch with one of the sales guys to touch base with me, another week goes by, so I send a few emails and leave a voicemail, and my mother does the same. A couple days later they get back to my mother, saying they are trying to figure out where the suit is and that they would hand deliver the suit to my home the next Monday and they would let us know how everything was going. Well that doesn’t happen and at this point it’s two weeks to the wedding and they have not done anything they said they would. I call back and they don’t answer, then starts the texting back and forth. Finally we schedule for a fitting Wednesday and surprise! the suit doesn’t fit, they said because my wedding was the next week they would but my suit on “priority tailoring”, and would be ready in a couple days. Friday I text back, asking if it was ready and they said come in on Monday! At this point bridal photos are out of the question, everyone is getting stressed, and I still have no suit with one week to go! Finally this morning I go in for the “final” fitting, and it still doesn’t quite fit, but I’m fed up with this so I just take it and leave! They do not take care of the customer unless they are face to face. I will not be recommending them or going back there.

I am on my third suit from True Gentleman and am sold for life on custom suits from Trapper. Service has always been top notch, and Trapper has always helped me tweak and adjust any minor fit problems to obtain the best possible look and fit. I dont wear my trim-fit Nordstroms suits anymore--they feel baggy and boxy compared with the custom fit by True Gentleman.I appreciate Trappers personal touches, from a Sunday morning home delivery, to text updates and a personal thank you for providing referrals. Trapper is a good friend of mine and I wanted a suit from them for my wedding ever since I photographed one of his suits at a wedding a few years ago. I ordered a double breasted vest with a lapel for the 3 piece that I bought from them as well. He worked with me through every step of the process and was generous with his pricing to keep me in my range. Super impressed with the suit that I got for my wedding. Its definitely one of a kind and was the first suit like this that Trapper had made! It came in time just like he said and needed a few alterations which was paid for. It turned out just like I wanted and even better. I have had over 25 custom suits made in my life, mostly from Asia and a few from Europe. My True Gentleman suits are some of the very finest I own. As with most things in life, details matter, and you will be pleasantly surprised with the level of quality and service. It also doesnt hurt that Trapper is a true gentleman himself. Ive had multiple experiences with True Gentleman and loved all of them. My last experience netted me a snazzy good luck jacket that I wore at State XC. Needless to say, I was the sharpest dressed guy in any of the championship pics.Before my experience with Trapper, I had never worn a custom suit. Now, Im looking for reasons to get another suit or jacket. Who says confidence doesnt come with patch pockets?

Nothing but love for this company. They were incredibly accommodating with my husbands schedule and his appointments always felt so thoughtful and thorough; never rushed. There was not a single detail ignored and they LISTENED to him and gave him an overwhelming amount of awesome options to choose from. He couldnt even believe it. **** BUYER BEWARE**** the first experience we had ordering a suit from Trapper was fine, the suit came out very nicely so I decided to surprise my husband with one as a gift for Christmas. Trapper said it was the perfect gift because he already had all my husbands measurements and so it could be a total suprise. Well it ended up being a nightmare. The suit did not fit at all like his original suit when the measurements were supposed to be the exact same as his previous suit. My husband contacted Trapper and he began to make excuses about how it was because of his body type, he has an athletic build, it was just supposed to be the exact same? The suit was again completely off, Trapper made it seem like it was a huge inconvenience to him to have to change anything, Im sorry but when Im spending $1400 on a suit is it too much to ask that it actually fits?! Finally after 3 attempts he said he would be dropping it off at our house at 2 pm, when it was 3 and we still hadnt herd from him my husband sent a text just asking if he was still planning on coming, the normal response from a company would be for them to apologise because they know you time is valuable and dont want you waiting around all day but instead he went off on my husband and gave him some guilt trip about having to cancel his own plans to come drop it off. Like his time is way more valuable than ours and once again we were being an inconvenience. That was the last straw, this was supposed to be a fun gift for my husband and instead it has been nothing but a headache with terrible customer service and we are left with a suit that still doesnt fit right that we will have to pay someone else to fix and bad memories associated with it. I absolutely love my suit from true gentleman. I was able to customize everything on my suit. I felt like my suit was very individualized to me. From the custum fit and tailoring, all the way down to the buttons and the stitching. I will never buy a suit from anywhere else.

I ordered 2 suits was promised they would be done in 4-6 weeks. 4 months have gone by and I have only 1 suit.... Sam and Trapper have not responded to multiple calls, voice mails or text messages. The suit quality is very fine, even excellent, but I WILL NOT buy from them again.

True Gentleman was referred to my by a friend. trapper originally came to make my husband a suit and when everything was all said and done about 35-40 days later we had completely redesigned everything in my husbands closet, ranging from slacks, and shirts to, suits, blazers and sports coats. He even helped us pick out casual clothing to accompany everything he made for us. The service was better than I had ever expected and have already recommended him to several friends.

I surprised my husband with a suit for Christmas. So after Christmas, Trapper (owner of True Gentleman) measured & helped my husband get his suit customed designed. He was very knowledgeable & helpful. There were lots of choices to pick from at all price brackets but I think the best part is how custom you could make it. (You could have every button hole a different color if you wanted.) We ordered the suit and we got it back pretty fast. My husband loves his suit, its the best he has ever owned. We will for sure only be buying our suites through True Gentleman.

I posted this on Yelp in 2015, but forgot about Google, and really, everyone should know about this. My cousin was wearing a suit from True Gentleman, so my husband and I asked him where he got it. Turns out it was custom made down to the very last detail - buttons, buttonholes, linings, etc.I made an appointment with Trapper and he came to our house to get my husbands measurements. We asked him if we could have it by Christmas, and he promised it to us by the beginning of December. This first meeting was at the end of October. Beginning of December came around - he forgot to place our order. I understand, mistakes happen. Since then however it has been nearly impossible to get a hold of Trapper. We never got the suit, and when we asked for a refund on 2/17/15 he told us it would take 10-15 days to receive it. It has now been 6 weeks and still no refund. In the last 5 months since he forgot the suit my husband and I have sent 12 emails (to both of his listed emails), 6 texts, and called twice and hes only emailed back half of those times to set up meetings (both at our house and at his tailor) that he never showed up to. The tailor informed us he didnt even put the meeting on the schedule with her. He wouldnt send us updates on the suit, nor updates on the refund of his own accord. He may seem too busy to respond to our various inquiries, but he had no trouble posting his own suit modeling shots on Instagram 36 times in 6 weeks! This just seems like blatant irresponsibility and disrespect from someone who is supposed to own his own business.Over this 5 month period since we first ordered the suit in October, weve missed family pictures, two weddings, a wedding anniversary, a funeral, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Valentines Day, and five job interviews we wouldve liked that suit for. No worries, we were able to buy a less-expensive suit through a different business and have it tailored within a week. Now we just want the refund.In summary, dont use True Gentleman for your next suit or do business with Trapper Roderick unless you want your messages to fall on deaf ears, and never want to see your suit or your money again.Update 7/16/15: Trapper tried to bribe us to remove this review and not sue him by giving us a suit (ill-fitting/untailored, and without the rest of our order). When we said no and left the negative review he began to harass us through various outlets until we had to block him. Beware of other reviewers being bought for a positive review. Others have contacted me in response to my review - this behavior seems like a common occurrence. Buyer beware.Feel free to read some of his responses to these reviews and see the type of professional he is who wont take responsibility for his actions.

Update: after this review, Trapper reached out to harass me about my negative experience. This is what you sign up for when you purchase here: a business novice who cannot assume blame for communication lapses and untimely product delivery. I have my shirt, as the only worker concerned about maintaining good business practice—Cole— delivered it to me at work.Judging from other reviews I might be in a minority of purchasers, but I highly doubt it. Professionalism is not the strong suit of this business, and especially not something Trapper values. Communication was untimely, often leaving me waiting over 24 hours to hear back from the owner. Delays being a common theme here, my suit was over 3 weeks late. As recompense, I was comped a shirt that I was promised would be here for my wedding day. I was left scrambling to find a shirt for my wedding when I was informed 3 days before it wouldn’t be here on time. In fact, it was also 2-3 weeks late. I was home from my honeymoon by that point, which is when Trapper ignored texts and then began a rather uninventive story about how he would be closing down TGSC, something that worker Cole claimed was not happening. When you spend >$1000 for a suit, you deserve better treatment than this. Do yourself a favor and just go to Hugo Boss.

I very rarely leave reviews, but True Gentleman makes awesome custom suits! The last time I wore my suit at my friends wedding, I had 4 different people ask me where I got my suit! If you want to stand out and have a great quality suit, go with True Gentleman!

Trapper took care of us and made sure my suit was perfect for our wedding. The only bad part is now I HAVE to go to True Gentleman because no other suit compares.

If you are expecting one shred of customer service, this is not the place for you. Similar to other reviews contained herein, I had to do all the leg work with following up on my order and making sure my suit would be completed on time. I am entirely convinced that had I not followed up myself, they would have completely forgotten about my purchase.When it came time to pick up the suit, I was told that if I could get to the store before 1:00 PM, I could pick up the suit. I arrived at the store at 10:30 AM and the store was closed. I was then told that everyone else was out of town and it was my fault for not coming to the store the previous day. This conversation actually happened.Even if TG was selling a new suit for $1.00, I would not buy it. These guys act like they are the only game in town. They are not. But even if they were, I would happily drive to the next town over just to spurn TG.

I had my husband, father, and father and brother in laws all in TG suits for my wedding. They all got soooo many compliments and looks so sharp and amazing!! They all turned out perfectly and made the family pictures look amazing!

I bought a suit from TG a while back. I had an interesting experience with my custom suit. I made a final round interview with an investment bank in SF, which I wore my suit to. Unfortunately, I didnt get the offer but I did get feedback on why I didnt receive it. Apparently someone who interviewed me thought I was dressed too nicely and that turned him off to me as a candidate. Anyways, definitely the strangest feedback I have ever gotten and I never expected to out dress Wall Street, but thought it was a story that speaks to the quality of TGs products. I will definitely be back for more suits!

We got a suit from TG and are obsessed about the fit and fabric.... Turn around time is about 6-8 weeks but so worth it.. Ive purchased two pants and one suit from Trapper, so as you can see the initial orders went fine overall. My wife purchased a suit as a surprise for me for Christmas which we just now finalized.One of the biggest problems with Trapper / True Gentlemen is the pure and utter lack of communication. When Im paying $1,500 for a custom suit I expect a certain level of professionalism which I did not find with TG. Im the one that had to constantly follow up on the fixes which there were over 3, ultimately he ended up having to remake the jacket from scratch because they couldnt get it right (its still not right). The final straw was when Trapper said hed be at my house around 2 on Saturday. I responded pleasantly and rearranged my day so that I would be there when he shows up. Come 3pm I ask should I still expect you soon?. Again, Im following up with him, I never once received a simple text letting me know when he would show up. He responded with still in meetings hoping to get done soon if it needs to be later I can come this evening. Mind you this is a Saturday, Ive already changed my plans for him so I respond with I changed my plans for you thinking it would be around 2. Trapper responds with well wade looks like we are just a bad match, Im rearranging taking my grandma to her cancer appointment to meet you today so I guess it sucks for both of us, you never once said anything earlier.This is when I start to get really mad, call Trapper some bad names and go off on how terrible his service is. He tries to make me feel guilty by bringing his grandmother into this when he offered to bring it by on Saturday. He tells me we are a bad match after I was simply trying to understand where he was and what time he would stop by. I wanted him to know that I rearranged my day to meet with him at the time that was convenient for him, not me.We go on texting for quite some time as he wont pick up his phone to have a conversation, Trapper doesnt want to own up to anything. He doesnt want to admit the suit was bad, that he has terrible service and doesnt communicate. And if you hear from him or anyone at TG that Im the crazy person, well you can call me crazy if I expect to be updated in a timely manner about my $1,500 custom suit and will absolutely call him out if he doesnt. If he responds to me like that and goes off on my wife then Ill definitely call him some 4 letter words to get my point across.There are other tailors in the area that will better serve you and are more sincere, go to them, do not gamble with Trapper.FYI, I have since blocked his number. After my wife posted a bad review he immediately started to text her again... such a waste of time.

We absolutely loved working with True Gentleman Supply Co.My husband is 68 and has a difficult time finding suits that fit perfectly. True Gentleman came to our house, measured him, he chose every detail and material he wanted added to the suit. We gave them the price we could spend and they made it work perfectly for our wedding day!! The suit looks incredible and he always says how comfortable it is. He is so happy I bought him this amazing present. We will never buy a suit another way. To top it off, we received a free Italian tie and the suit was delivered right to our door when they said they would deliver it, incredible service, never had to leave our home or try on suits at a store!!! Mckay Anderson and the team at True Genteleman are just that, true gentelmen. They not only took the time in helping me create my suit, which I absolutely love - they made sure the fit was perfect, coming to my office, working with my schedule and truly going above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. Not only will I continue to buy suits from them, but would recommend them to anyone looking for both a great experience and an excellent product. I am a fan!

About 5 weeks ago, I got into contact with True Gentleman. Prior to this, I had been measured and fitted for custom suits by Sam Surin and Beckett & Robb. To put it nicely, both were off-putting experiences; with Sam Surin, the pants fit wrong and were too tight in the buttocks, and I felt like I was being man-handled by Beckett & Robb… In fact, I’m still waiting for a suit from them… (It should have arrived 6 weeks ago… yeah, I’ve been waiting 3+ months). To confess, “I know what I want… so please just give it to me at a reasonable price”. Upon reading reviews, I was hesitant... thinking that my experience with True Gentleman would have be the same as Sam Surin and Beckett & Robb. When meeting with Trapper, I said quite bluntly, “Listen, I’m looking for a white/cream double breasted suit, buttons and stitching all white, slim fitted, 2-3’’ wide lapels, with no pleats nor belt loops and buttons sewed inside the pants for suspenders. I need it in 5 weeks for two events and possibly to use for working at the Provo Town Center Temple. My budget is $1,000. Can you make this work?” Pulling out his measuring tape, he measured me up, showed me the options in my price range and told me he could rush it (I’ve heard that before). Afterwards, we exchanged contact info and I left. Throughout the entire ‘waiting’ process, Trapper emailed me, text me, even called me to keep me updated. Then, to my surprise, he text me a week BEFORE the deadline, telling me, “The suit has arrived. Where would you like to meet? Trying it on, it fit like a glove… FIRST TIME, NO PROBLEMS. The suit arrived in 1/4 the time of Becket & Robb, cost half the amount, and unlike Sam Surin, fit perfectly with no alterations. Then I did something crazy and purchased a maroon double breasted suit, a charcoal gray suit and a navy cream-windowpane suit. I’ll admit that this wasn’t what I was expecting to do, but is something I’m proud I did!! True Gentleman, if the experience is similar with my future suits as it was with my first suit, you have a customer for life!!

Amazing suits. On the more expensive side but well worth your money!

Trapper is the man, since 2014 he has helped me with the best suits possible! Don’t buy a suit anywhere else period..
