He was very thorough in helping us figure out what we wanted and communicated effectively with each step of the ordering process. TJ installed the swingset as soon as it came in. I used to buy from this place all the time but since the owner changed the customer service is not the same. I wanted to order some brown mulch but was advised from the sales person to order different mulch because he said it was darker. When they brought it to my house the color was not even as dark as the brown mulch my neighbors put up awhile back. The result - is one unhappy customer.

Great service. They answered on my first call, price was right and they delivered within two hours. Will definitely be using them for pine straw going forward. I called another place before I found them, left a message and even sent an email and I still havent heard back. I have used this business for the last few years for all my yards supplies. Their conveniently located old Cherokee road in Lexington, and very easy to navigate to. I use them to get my spring and fall time pinestraw to freshen up my yard. I also use them to get my topsoil every spring to get our garden started for the growing season. Their staff is always courtesy and professional. Their yard is very large so it makes it easy if you want to use your own pickup truck to pickup materials. They also offer delivery services as well for those of you, that may not have a pickup of your own.Tip: they also honor a 5 percent military discount on any purchases...with the dispaly of your military identification card.

If you are looking for great service and a fair price on landscaping materials, and want it close by, Pinestraw Place is as far as you need to go. I use them for mulch and propane and have always had a great experience. I even got some high quality sandy loam from them at one point all delivered. Lewis and the crew are awesome.

Lewis and his team are super personable and delivered the top soil exactly when and where they said they would! Will be back for more stuff!

Very helpful and polite on the phone. They got my delivery of mulch out right away. I plan on using them for all my mulch, dirt and gravel needs in the future.

I sold my truck so I have them delivered sand, sod, mulch, whatever I need. They are reasonably priced and deliver quickly.

Previous customer (sod, pinestraw, etc). Stopped by in Feb for playset. Asked about time frame, delivery, box to surround with soft filler and setup/install of all. Was told one week for playset to arrive to the warehouse for pickup and a couple days for setup. Ok. I placed my order.Sales guy was in my neighborhood on delivery later that day so checked out our yard and marked possible location. That placement didnt work for us, so he was going to come out that following Monday to discuss options and get measurements for playground box.No call. No show.Waited a week. No call. No show.Waited two weeks. Still no call. No show.Going into week THREE, my husband called and inquired on our order and when someone was coming by to discuss location and material needed for the playset. He was told they would get back to us later that day.No call. No show.Week FOUR. My husband calls again and is told someone will come by that Saturday at 11am.No call. No show.Husband calls AGAIN around noon.... he is told someone will be there soon (please note, we live less than 2 miles away from Pinestraw Place).When the gentleman arrives he does not knock, but rather calls to say hes here and walking to back yard. We meet him there and begins with an excuse as to his tardy arrival. Ok... whatever... When we show him the location we want for the playset he doesnt measure, just stands there and ballparks an estimate for materials. He then proceeds to explain that the railroad ties he had suggested before were not available anymore because their supplier isnt responding to them. And suggests a lower quality option.He asks us when we wanted to have this done to which my husband responds... yesterday. And then he tells us that the playsets are backordered and if he ordered that week it would probably be THREE WEEKS before it came into the warehouse. But, wait...?!?! I placed my order at their location a month before?!?!Needless to say, we told him we would go elsewhere. And honestly, I dont leave negative reviews often, expecially for local businesses, but this isnt just about poor business practices, or the excuse after excuse after excuse... Its not even about wasting my time & my husbands time. This is about a 6 year old boy. It ruined something he was excited about. That is not ok.

Terrible business. Called about sod and pinestraw, the person I talked to said come pick it up. I come by 20 mins later and see the sod there and back up to it. I get ready to load it up and someone else comes and says hed like to buy the rest of the sod. So the person I spoke to about the sod comes to me and says hey man, how many pieces do you need? I told him 20. He says, well I already sold it all, sorry. Then I tell him I called about it, and he tells me I never got any call. At that point he just lost all my business and future business. I will never come back here.
