Dave is the clerk and server that i met. Very knowledgeable and helpful. The best customer service representative IVE EVER MET. HE IS NICE AND I THINK HE KNOWS EVERYTHING. First liquor store ive been too with a bar. 3 drink limit. But a great selection of ipas and just good random (stong) beers. Will be back. Hidden gem. Glad i found it!!!!

An outstanding one-stop shop to find a selection of great craft beer. As a beer enthusiast on travel to Chicago, I was excited to try great local beers but did not have much time to frequent all of the local breweries. Luckily this store had a wide variety of local brews and a knowledgeable staff to guide my selection. The staff quickly learned my preferences and recommend great beers that I loved. The store clearly fosters a very personable and friendly atmosphere, which shined through during my conversation with the staff. The only downside is that the beer recommendations were too good and I will have to return tomorrow!

Great beer selection and lots of singles to create your own six pack to go, hell if you only wanted 2 singles thats fine too. Liquor laws a bit strange where Libertyville will not allow you to buy a single and the drink it on site. Not stores fault but strange. Furthermore only 12 oz pours and no flights. 8 taps currently and a limit of 3 drinks and you get cut off. 32 oz growlers available too.

What a great store!!! They always carry the best beer and regularly have the hard to find stuff thats sold out other places. They also have a beer tap that serves a rotating selection of some of the best beers. You can either get them in crowlers to go or enjoy a them outside on the patio. The employees are friendly and knowledge, what more could you ask for!

Im from out of state working in the area for a couple of months. I stopped in today for the first time and Edgar was fantastic! This gentleman really knows his stuff. He was very enthusiastic and was able to recommend some great choices for me to build my own six pack. As I was leaving he threw in another brew he thought I might like. I cant wait to try them all! The Craft Beer is a no fail. Ive been frequenting it since their old location a few blocks down South on Milwaukee. The place is great to grab a flight or a few pints, and the staff is always friendly.

I was very disappointed by my last visit here. I have sometimes been lucky enough to find a bottle of Blanton’s Bourbon here from time to time, and I was happy to see they had one on the shelf...marked up to a ridiculous $179.99. Blanton’s normally retails in the $60 range. To see them price gouging on something just due to demand is really unfortunate. This once happy customer will take his business elsewhere.

My go-to for craft beer. They get everything from Hop Butcher, Phase Three, Pipeworks, Riverlands, Energy City, OIB etc. and even stuff from out of state. They also have a good selection of ciders.

Prices are a dollar or so higher than large scale chains but supporting small business is worth it to others. Friendly staff with the ability to have 2 beers on draft while shopping.

Fantastic selection of craft beers, with new brews appearing all the time. The staff knows their stuff and can always offer great suggestions. They host weekly beer tasting events as well, and seem to go out of their way to support local craft brewers.Addendum for 2021: this place has grown a lot since I first wrote this review, so it’s time for an update. They now have 10 great beers on tap to try out, and an even bigger selection of cans and bottles, plus a healthy selection of seltzers, ciders, wines and liquors. They manage to get some rare beers you can’t find anywhere else in the state, and they really know their products, so if you know what you like they can steer you towards some new breweries you might not be aware of. We are really lucky to have a place like this right in our downtown- if you like beer, you won’t be disappointed!

One of the best selections of craft beer Ive ever seen. Free tasting events with breweries are always a good time. Free specialty tasting events (Hill Farmstead vs. Tree House and Heady Topper vs. Sip of Sunshine) are an amazing touch. People there are very friendly and knowledgeable.

Awesome place. Knowledgeable staff, unique varieties. Place has doubled in size since it started. Probably the only place in Lake County to truly provide a great selection of craft beer. They have small batch, barrel age and hard to find bottles for those beer geeks. Samplings are entertaining every week. Owner is a very friendly person and brewery events are encouraging because it shows they care and are passionate about it.

My cousin and I met up here for a quick beer after work and were lucky enough to find Surly Darkness on tap, among other limited release bombers on the shelf. The prices were fair - paid about $8 for surly. Understandably, if youre drinking there, they do limit you to 2 beers since they tap pretty boozy beers. The store owner and staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. Overall, this place is a gold mine if youre a beer collector or just looking to have a casual drink afterwork.

For those that appreciate craft beer, you will certainly appreciate what the Libertyville Craft Beer Store is doing. Their selection is fantastic. Im greeted every time I stop in. Many times, Ill just ask whats new in stock, or whats popular, so that I get some ideas. Other times Ill just mention what Im in the mood for (i.e. stouts) and ask for suggestions. Usually, theyll walk around the store with you and point things out. Its really great service! You should stop in and check it out - I think youll be happy that you did.

This place opened in August of 2014. Amazing assortment of craft beer. Tons of local selections too. Many of the brews are from the greater Chicago area. Its nice to see such a great collection of local craft beers! They have had tastings on several Fridays. Friendly & knowledgeable staff as well!

Just moved to the area and Ive been here nearly every day. The selection of FRESH local beers is fantastic as is their inventory from other states. They have 4 draft selections at all times and are frequently pouring from cans for tasters. Staff is super friendly and helpful!

The CBS has an excellent and changing selection of craft beers and coffee beans, along with some bourbons and wines. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly! I have spent many hours chatting with them about beer, and watching them help people find the right beer for whatever occasion/person they are shopping for!
