We just bought an electric 88 key piano with weighted keys. Both on the phone and also when we went to the store the service was fantastic with excellent people to bounce ideas off of. Both of my children have also taken lessons and we have purchased their school instruments here. This is a place that Libertyville cant ever lose.
We took our instrument in to be serviced. There is a covid-19 waiting period. The service is completed out of Deerfield. They provided a loaner instrument. Great friendly service.
Great, friendly service even for novice / beginner musicians
Im a pretty experienced guitar guy but not too good with a soldering iron. Tried to fix my grandsons guitar and failed. Not wanting to disappoint my grandson I took the guitar toLibertyville Music. Mark took a quick look and carefully found and fixed where I went wrong. He was careful and did a great job but more important, he was able to do it right away. The price was more than fair. While there I looked around at their stock. This is a nice store. If you need a guitar or a repair, stop in here. They know what they are doing and have an excellent selection of fine instruments.Best of all they know what they are doing. They will give you solid advice and they sell excellent guitars and amps. Stop in and say hi you wont be sorry.
If they do not have it in stock, they will order it for you. Helpful staff.
Ive been going here for years. I try to stop by every time Im in town. They really take a lot of care in selecting which instruments they put up for sale, and I appreciate that. Everything in there is solid, and and at an excellent price point. All my guitars were setup and wired, and rewired by Mark, the Grand Master luthier and technician. It was a bummer to hear he didnt work there anymore. But Ill still stop by every time Im in town. I will always remember this place. Its where I got my first electric, my first amp, won my first mixer in the opening day raffle. Great local music shop.
They were great. Everyone is knowledgeable and friendly and they took great care of me!
Great service. Nice to deal with.
The best. The day this place closes its doors will be the end of whats good. Matt and the gang are musicians that are laid back, knowledgeable and personable. Youre going to pay retail because theyre in Libertyville paying rent (not cheap) but supporting Libertyville Music and shops like it is essential to community fabric and Americana. This place and doing the hokey pokey and turning yourself around are what its all about.
I have been going to Libertyville Music for many years. I have two children that play band instruments, Clarinet and Saxophone, so I purchase reeds and books for them. I have their band instrument team service my childrens band instruments too. Personally I have been playing guitar in local groups for fun for over 30 years. The team at Libertyville Music has worked with me to customize my guitars and amplifiers so that the equipment I use to perform works the way I need it to work.Libertyville Music has a very knowledgeable staff. The management team has solid backgrounds from working at big name custom shops. They also understand music from a musicians perspective because they play a wide variety of music themselves. Over the years Ive come to rely on them to provide services for all the musicians in my house. Ive sent my friends to them as well, all have had positive experiences.
Not what you would expect from a local music store. great group of people eager & willing to help customers with questions or concerns qualilty of instruments is impeccable. strings. picks. repairs lessons.its a one stop shop they got it
This is the classic neighborhood music store; great products and great people. Matt and Mark seem to be the key guys -- extremely likeable -- huge amount of knowledge and experience. I have had my old 1964 amp repaired there, bought my Tele there, bought amps there, bought an acoustic there ..Why buy online when you can buy from great guys who are a better deal ($) and can service your stuff with a smile? Guitar Center and Musicians Friend -- are not your friend.
Best guitar shop in lake county. Hands down. Good guys. Very skilled luthiers.
Prices are extremely unreasonable not to mention the skinny kid behind the counter called me man so many times I thought I was in a Cheech and Chong movie.
Awesome shop and great guys. Mark has worked on someof my guitars and sold me on an amazing Seagull acoustic. A musicians music store. A+
Nice staff, low selection.
Awesome staff! Matt does a killer guitar setup, and everyone their is so kind and accommodating. Thanks guys!
Friendly staff. They offered us a military discount, which is much appreciated. I highly recommend the store.
I have had a great experience with Libertyville Music. They have sold us instruments and equipment and have always steered us in the right direction, along with being available to troubleshoot and fine tune any products they sell. The repair and setup services have been prompt, technically outstanding, and priced fairly. Any items not currently in stock were ordered quickly, for competitive prices. The staff is helpful and friendly and will always take extra time to answer questions and chat without making you feel rushed and hurried. As a novice musician they have taught me a great deal both during lessons and through casual conversation. Highly recommended and a great community resource.
These guys are my guitar techs. They did an excellent rebuilt on my crashed L-4 (neck reset, rims and cracked heel repaired), and have done fine work on my other instruments.
Awesome music store great staff and very knowledge. Place best for repair work on all instruments
The staff here is great knowledgeable and helpful. Good prices.
Eric is an incredible teacher and guitarist.
A few years ago, I was a non-musician looking to start playing acoustic guitar. And now, having experienced other music stores, I have to say this:1) I do not in any way regret the choice in guitar that the shop led me to. They seemed to know what they were talking about at the time, and I believe now they really truly did.2) Everyone was super friendly and, even though I was a complete novice know-nothing, I got more than the time of day. They took the time to explain things to me and treated me like they appreciated my business and wanted it again--not something Ive always come in contact with since (at other music stores).Simply put, Libertyville Music listened to what I wanted and paired me with the right guitar--and for a good price, too. The more and more I visit music stores, the more and more I fondly remember Libertyville Music.
Great product, great prices, and great service. What more can you ask? Also, the owner/manager of this store goes the extra mile.
Ive lived in Libertyville for fifteen years and I have really tried to support them. I teach band locally and have a busy professional performing schedule and would love to have a local business that I and my students could use for guitar and band instrument repair, and to buy supplies and equipment. My experience with them has been the worst every time Ive been in. Their store stock is woeful. Twice I have left nice guitars with them to be set up. The first time I couldnt tell that any work had been done, but there were little dents on the back of the neck. The next time (Iknow: why?) they just sat in the store for three weeks while I waited. Then when I picked them up (no work was ever done) there were marks all over the cases, as if they had been tossed around. They are rude, unprofessional and totally disorganized. Students Ive taught who took lessons there (not at my suggestion) learned nothing. Just another jive guitar store run by morons.
Great music store right in Libertyville! Perfect!
A friend of mine is a big-time sound guy in the Chicago area. He does sound for major concerts and events. So when my Fender 57 Reissue Twin Amp (grossly overpriced tweedy Custom Shop model) mysteriously died on me, I called him to ask where I should take it. I expected hed recommend some obscure pro equipment repair place at 34th and Kedzie in Chicago or something. To my complete surprise he said take it to Libertyville Music. He said hes taken lots of stuff here, and had great experiences. So I did, and was hit with two more surprises. First, they said they would run a quick diagnostic and let me know in a day. Not 2 weeks like at Guitar Center. Second, when I went to pick it up, I was informed that the problem was just a simple thing...so he didnt charge me! No inspection fee (even though he had had to open the amp up), and no repair charge. I was halfway home, before I realized I hadnt paid anything. This is not imply that they do free repairs. But I do think this speaks to their integrity and the way they do business. I would have paid for the inspection, and if they been less ethical, they certainly could have made up some bull about a transformer resistor blah blah overload and charged me big bucks for the repair. This is a small shop compared to the big box stores, but their service demonstrates just how important it is to have a shop like this around.
Great personal service.
The staff is great.
Very helpful sales guy.
Mark has been doing work on my guitars for 12 years and I wouldnt take them to anyone else!
They helped me find my dream guitar, and 2 years later I still swear its the best guitar Ive every played.
Great service!
Nice people and friendly
Small shop with friendly, expert staff
