The look is awesome, due to COVID they closed the boating. Its well be great to enjoy the fall colours from this lake view.

What a sweet place for two dogs to spend an arfternoon.Stop here for a picnic, rent a boat or go out for fishing with mans borkest friend.First you gotta pay the parking fee which helps maintain this park for mutts to wag in.

We love coming here. Its a nice play to relax, fish, hike and spend time with the family. The bait shop employees are always great. The park attendees are always helpful and nice. The park is well kept and clean.

Right now theyre open Friday Saturday and Sunday the gentleman that works there is kind and will help find what you need the lady works there is awesome too.

Took my kids out fishing...it turned into a day of relaxing by the water 💧 loved it!!

Nice, quiet, lots of picnic tables with grill; fishing spots, kayaking, trail walking... You need a day parking pass ($5.00) and if you fish, you better have a fishing license handy (Park officials check them often 😛)

Sweetwater is a place for all your outdoors gateways. Theres alot of places a family can set up and grill out. Some offer pavilions close to the water so the kids can fish. Lake or river your choice. The mill ruins over looking the shoals is definitely a must see. I just wish there were some bass in the lake. Bluegills are over populated.

I felt like there were more turtles to catch than fish and thats what the one Star is for. The park is clean, great for relaxing, boat rides, or walking so that would be a 5 star

Sweetwater Creek State Park is an excellent place to go if you enjoy the outdoors and hiking. Trails range from easy to quite strenuous. The trails are nice to walk or run on. Ten years ago, the park was very rugged and trails were sometimes difficult to navigate, but the park has been revitalized and now boasts camping, Yurt camping, revitalized trails that are roomy and paved with gravel, making a trek through the woods pretty pleasant. There is a lake to fish or picnic nearby. The historic Sweetwater Ruins are fairly easy hike in. The ruins sit next to the creek, which is magnificent. The roaring waters not only provide a beautiful sight, but also cool, refreshing waters. This place is a wonderful way to spend the day with family. The park also offers an interpretive center that explains the animals found in the park as well as the history. This park is one of the most visited state parks in Georgia. Its a break away from the often rushed live of living in the city or suburbs. Take a day and go visit the park. Im sure you will enjoy it.

Such a great family friendly park. We love feeding the ducks, some of them will come right up to you. You can rent paddle boats, kayaks, and other water toys... Really cool! Thats just the beginning. Head further in and hike down to the rapids where you can jump and play on the rocks. Set up shop and have a picnic! It can be busy and parking sucks, bad! Doesnt take away from this gem just down the road from six flags!

Cant speak for the bait shop as I didnt think it was open yeah, but as the park in general Im found here at minimum three days a week love it

There is no way to swim and they will not let the people to rent boats. I was fishing today and I saw other people fishing and no one catched any.

You can by duck food and feed ducks if you arent fishing. Great place to take the family. Lived near here for years, been here growing up. Its a beautiful park. 😊

The trails are great...1/2 trail to the old Manchester Mill...that is ehere Hunger Games was filmed. The red trail is by the creek leading to the ruins. Several films shot there Hunger games...Rampage...Jungle juice.. Plus tv shows Passage.. The Resident.. So a great place for friends and family to get out and enjoy nature.

I visit this place often, because I like kayaking! Beautiful lake, gentle breeze - its so much relaxing. Later in fall, the color surrounding the lake is pretty awesome!They have lots of different boats for rental and the stuffs are very nice.

Love this park, the perfect place for family Functions....the lake is beautiful. Gone spend some time there on my lil boat this summer

Great park on the reservoir for Douglas County. You can canoe or paddle board. No gas motor boats allowed.

Great place to go grill out . just watch for the ranger . they can be a lil bit of a pain in ya ass. But over all . nice .

Small, but friendly staff

We come here often to use the paddle boards. Its a nice enough state park, and while swimming isnt technically allowed, no ones watching if you want to jump in on the other side of the lake.

My family and I had the most awesome time fishing, hiking, laughing, talking, eating, playing in the park today!!!
