Nice small town Main Street appeal to go along with good food and friendly service. We stopped for breakfast and enjoyed the food...good pancakes, excellent bacon π₯ and a delicious Greek omelet. There was only one server so not the fastest service but she couldnt have been nicer. The space is adorable old school diner motif with booths and counter seating. Great location right on Lock Havens main street.
We havent visited since March 2019 when the whole Covid thing started. At that visit the bald gentleman working the grill was very rude to us when we placed a mobile order to dine outside. We went to check with them inside to see if it went through and he stated Are you just going to sit there all day or are you going to order something? Today we decided to try again and was disappointed. There was one waitress for the whole restaurant. She was visibly flustered and overworked. We waited 13 minutes to be asked what we wanted. At that point we were quietly discussing leaving. I understand short staffing. But limit your tables so your one waitstaff can handle everyone without affecting her service. I never got to ask her for more butter or sugar for my coffee, which I left untouched as it was too bitter to drink without. I also understand clealiness and sanitizing during this. But offering cold ketchup and syrup in metal serving cups is ridiculous. Leave the bottles and wipe them as you always have. We will not be back until this pandemic stuff ends. We love the Texas. It used to be our every Saturday tradition. But we get better service elsewhere.
Awesome place! Great inexpensive food, and a helpful staff. Only negative is there limited seating. Make sure to go before 10:00 am to beat the morning croud.
I Always Have To Go Here An Get A Growler When Im Home Visiting My Family And They Are Still Delicious. My fiance Got A Bacon Egg And Cheese Sandwich From There Today But I Didnt Get A Picture Of That But He Said It Was Better Than The One He Had From Sheetz Gas Station Yesterday. I Really Wish I Would Have Gotten The Name Of The Two People Working Today Because They Was Very Friendly Nice
We were in town for work and stopped here for breakfast. First, the food was very good. I had the eggs Benedict. If you prefer your egg cooked well, make sure you tell them because it arrived sunny side up on mine. My wife had the blueberry stuffed French toast and enjoyed it.The restaurant is similar to a 50s Era diner, but I would not call it that. Its long and narrow and has some larger tables in the back. I would say if your group is 10 or more that you may wish to call ahead.Overall, the people were friendly, the service was good. I would eat here again.

My friend and I ordered online for pickup today. When I picked it up, what a fiasco. The waitress was busy and passed by me 3 times before finally asking me what I needed. Yes, she was busy but was on the rude side. We ordered a Greek salad and paid over $9. When we got the food home the $9 salad ended up being a simple tossed salad that normally costs $5. While the rest of the food was good, the prices were quite high. We definitely will not be back.!!!
Awesome place for lunch! This landmark establishment in downtown lock haven has been a staple for delicious diner food for years! Their burgers and sandwiches are great, fresh cut fries, and retro diner atmosphere make this a nice stop. The famous growler with the delicious meat sauce is worth a try! The salads are huge and tasty and prices are great!

Guy behind counter was extremely rude and made me and my friends feel unwelcome. They were worried about COVID so much but gave our table one menu for us all to share. Went to pizza place down the street. Pizza King was much better. More welcoming and overall better service.

This place has been in business longer than I can remember which is like when I was 2 years old which was a long time ago. The only thing I can say is Im upset with the business hours cutting so short in the past five or so years maybe longer? Cause they used to cater to the drunk crowd at 2 a.m. they no longer do it over the fights and liability I cannot blame them but I miss their food on Sunday evenings or just randomly when they were open 24/7? Best place in Lock Haven Pa to eat a great meal!

Friend and I had surprisingly good omelettes at this mainstay diner in Lock Haven. The ingredients were very good quality, the potatoes very flavorful, and the Arnold Palmer very good. Very nice service. Dated decor made the place feel like it needed a good cleaning, but it was in fact pretty clean. Note that this is a diner and my rating is scaled against other diners Ive been to.

This place has been in business since 1918. I ate there growing up over 40 years ago and always make it a point to visit. Love the hot dogs and the sauce.
I live for the growler. Cornerstone of Lock Haven living. Remember going as a kid and its hardly changed. Staff is always nice, food is consistently awesome. Its a greasy-spoon. Perfect if youre looking for meat smothered in meat sauce. Not so perfect if youre looking for kale and wheat grass. Im not local anymore, but I always stop for a Texas Dog when Im in town. You should too. Just dont wear white.
Portion sizes are good and servers on duty today were all cheerful and good at what they do. Had fried eggs (a bit runny for over medium), home fries (some too blackened to eat) and sausage patties (cooked just fine). Else place is clean and obviously popular with locals.

Just had some soup and sandwichesclam chowder was ok. We had club sandwiches which were ok nothing out of the ordinary. About the only place open around Loch Haven. So its ok.

I heard a lot of good things about this place so I was very excited to finally visit with my wife this past weekend. The interior has that cool, retro diner feel to it. Staff was very friendly and our waitress was very responsive. The food was just ok. I ordered a steak salad and it was underwhelming and small. For $11+, I expected my salad to have more than two handfuls of lettuce (some of which was the core of the iceberg head). My wife had a chicken sandwich that she enjoyed. I may try this place again and get something different, but if the food isnt remarkably better, it isnt worth visiting for the decor alone.

This is a great little restaurant in lock haven. They have been around for 100 years. They have really good food and are known for their hot dogs. They serve breakfast all day which great for me because breakfast food is my favorite. They are right across the street from my work so we get food from there often.
Been here a few times and today has been the best service Ive ever gotten. Normal the wife and I are waiting to get everything from menus to the bill to leave. This time the staff greeted us and was vigilante and kept asking us questions. Turned what use to be an hour meal to a peaceful 30 minute breakfast date.
My boys and I go to Texas lunch a few days a week before school and we always have a positive experience. Jackie is usually our waitress and she never fails to make the service exceptional. I would definitely recommend this local diner to anyone that visits town. Great people and friendly atmosphere!!

Ive visited once with good expectations based on the reviews and dont think its worth giving a 2nd try.I ordered the burger with chili and it came out very rare even though I requested medium. The burger itself was of similar quality to those you find in the frozen aisle. The chili was also rather uninspiring and fries were soggy. I would have given the quality a pass if the price reflected it, but it didnt. There are many better places in town to spend the same amount of money I did here.At this point, I would have at least given this establishment 2 stars, but the final straw was the staffs performance. There were 3-4 other tables at the same time as us, and I timed us waiting 27 minutes between when we said we were done and actually getting a check. (I bothered timing it because of the lackluster service up until that point) The waitress just chatted with the cook/played on her phone while we sat there.I honestly dont know how this place has 4 stars. My visit may have been a fluke, but I honestly dont care to revisit and find out.

A Great place with a lot of childhood memories. Janice has been here for years and I look foward to having her as my waitress as well as the great tasting food. Gravy fires are my all time favorite with extra gravy of course! Cant forget those amazing growlers as well!

I love this place so damn much! i would go almost every weekend when i was younger! now iβm older & cant get over there much. it is SO SAD that i have to say this, but i went on over with my mother about an hour or two ago. we went inside, seated ourselves at a booth, and then some other people walked in behind us and sat directly behind us, and they were waited on first. We let that slide but then more people come in and they got waited on before us as well. the waitress was the heavier girl with the long black hair. i know for a fact she saw us come in & sit down before anyone else! so my mother and I looked at each other and said letβs get out of here, all of the workers, besides the one girl i know (who is actually very nice - her name is chantelle. plus she was busy unlike the other female) saw us not being waited on. and no one said a thing. not even when we stormed out of there. i have dreadlocks, so my mom thought thatβs why we werenβt being waited on.
Ive been going to the Texas for around 20 years and have always gotten good service and food. The other night after being at work for 14 hours and getting home my son and i decided to go to the texas for dinner. I understand it was 7:30 and they closed at 8 but how i saw our food prepared was unacceptable. I watched the fellow preparing our dinner drop the seasoning container on the floor which i believe he unknowingly kicked before picking it up and the water container then proceed to use them both for our meal preparation. Needless to say we didnt eat much and left.And to get a response from the supposed owner like the one below is even more unacceptable. Perhaps we call newswatch 16 investigative reporting and have them take a look at your cameras? That is if you allow them too. The only food we ate were our hotdogs because they were already cooked when we had arrived. I brought an issue to your attention so instead of arguing with a long time customer save face and address the problem.

Since 1918, TEXAS LUNCH has been serving up the Texas Hots for a long, long time. Ive had Coney Islands/Texas Hots from all over and I can honestly say that this might best the best chili Ive found. They also cook up a great steak so dont be afraid to order one from a hot dog joint :) ... Step back in time and visit TEXAS LUNCH. The people here are friendly and will make you feel like youre at home.
Terrible terrible terrible !!! Dont know why I let people talk me into going back there. Cant stand their food. I know there are long time business and are famous for their Growlers but I can make better ones at home at least the hot dogs are done. And cheese fries with a slice of American cheese melted on top what the hell is that? Get some real cheese sauce

I was just there after getting passed by 3 times for service. we brought to their attention and today gave them a second chance. the service was slow and rude. when we got our food the eggs went cooked and burnt, that takes talent in the worst way. the potatoes tasted like fish, her eggs were slimy and the toast had a rubber thing going on like it was reused. This was like it was intentional u cant be this bad without trying to be. we brought it to our waitress attention she said ok and gave us the bill. I used to come here 2 or more times a week with my family. never again I learned my lesson.I would give minus stars if you could but I cant.
