I filled out the request for quote on restoring a 100+ year old secretarial desk. I received an email the next day asking for photos of the furniture. I took photos and emailed them back that same hour I had received the request for a quote.Three days go by and I do not hear back from them. I then send an email asking them if they were going to give me a quote and if they did not want to do the job then let me know so I can find another vendor. Four days go by and no response, so I deleted their email and assumed they did not want my business, if they did they would have called me on the phone or replied to my reply to their email. This person, or business waisted my time. Time has value and I have a desk I hoped would be in for repair or back and finished by now, yet I have to start all over again.
These guys are great. They repair furniture and cabinet fronts, including painting and staining. Our 12 year old kitchen cabinet fronts needed touch up do to slight water damage, etc. Took several cabinet fronts and drawer fronts and they matched up stains beautifully. Now theyre doing some minor repairs and painting of our dining room chairs and table. Great group of guys
Great workmanship, quick turnaround, affordable.
Very good work!
Jose & his crew at A and A are awesome. In 2006 my Grandmother passed away. I shipped her antique furniture cross country & the shipping company ruined it. I thought I would have to throw it out. But Jose saved it & made it look like new. I couldnt tell it was ever damaged. Im now am having Jose convert my grandmothers bed from a full size to a queen. I cant wait to see the results!!!
Great people and they do such beautiful work. They refinished my Great Grandmothers cedar chest for $250 and made it look like new. They even fixed the loose leg on it.
I have had several furniture restorations done by A & A. All have been great jobs. The Chinese furniture from the 19th century was all hand carved and very intricate.....A & A did wonders with the restoration. In some cases, some carvings had to be replaced. The finish was well done and matched its orginal color. If you need a class upholstery job, A & A can assist you with that concern as well. No need to go to another shop.
Ive been taking furniture to A&A for nearly 17 years. They are my go-to guys if Ive got a piece that needs restoration or repair.Years ago, they did an old art-deco radio for me. It was in pretty bad shape. It had sat in a barely-heated Midwestern basement for probably 40 years, had water damage, had been home to several generations of mice -- just . . . not good. This was a full-on restoration - the original finish was NOT coming back. When A & A stripped it, they discovered that what we thought was an oak panel turned out to be pine plywood. A & A was able to recreate the original faux woodgrain perfectly. Youd never know, if you didnt know.On another occasion, I took them a 1940s-era wooden bed. Not high-end, just a nice veneer over what Im assuming was probably fir (this is getting to be quite a few years ago, so the details are a little foggy). The foot-board had a deep, wide scratch in the veneer, like something heavy had scraped past it at some point and left this long dent, for lack of a better word. A & A was able to pull out the scratch! After theyd re-stained the piece, you simply couldnt tell where it was. I looked for it the other day, and I honestly couldnt find it.Time and again, these guys have made my . . . lets call it INEXPENSIVE . . . old furniture look like a million bucks. Theyve never let me down.
