This is the first time my husband and I are here. I cant believe we never knew about this place! I chose the lasagna, husband had a sandwich. The lasagna blew me away it was so good! The sauce was not too tomatoey and had just the right amount of spices. The portions are very large, my husband and I could only eat HALF of our lunch. The prices are very fair and the best part of this review is I have leftovers for dinner! The owner spoke with us and give us a little history about the restaurant. Rich in history, we found her story very enlightening. For sure, we will be back!

Have ordered here many times for the pizza and pastas (love the pizza, but pasta is hit or miss). Incredibly dissatisfied with the lasagna. It was like a cheese burrito with a sprinkle of meat covered in tomato sauce.

Pineapple pizza was full of Pineapple, what I love.Cheese wasnt not to grease. Steaming vegetables were perfect cook, crunchy, the way I like it.

I/we used to go here every week in the 1970 to 1988 when we moved away. Service was great, I think Katherine was our waitress. We ordered a large Hawaiian pizza & Alfredo pasta. Salad & garlic bread was amazing; pizza & pasta not anything to write home about.

Wow. Here our thoughts guys. We ordered 2 pizzas chicken barbecue and vegan.The first one is a joke, cause only a few pieces of chicken and everything else is cheese. If we want to buy cheese pizza what it would look like?!? Guess will be the same just no chicken. Cheese in vegan pizza as well.$22per pizza plate. Honestly, we expected way better quality. I assume it just wasnt our day, but you guys need to improve your quality as our lunch break was ruined.

I love this place I have been coming here for years I lived in Long Beach for some time and then I moved to Buena Park I still drive over here there Matterhorn Pizza is the bomb. So is there chicken alfredo so are the employees theyre very nice and humorous.

My 50 year romance with Marris is over - because of trust over a side of forgotten meat sauce.I was introduced to Marris as a child 50 years ago and over the past 3 decades as a father have gone out of my way to bring my family to the tasty pizza joint of my youth regardless of where Im living at the time. Thats all been changed now due to one bad apple among their staffing choices.My last family order was take out and was a bunch of dinners and a few pizzas, but when I got home I was missing a side of meat sauce that the receipt showed I paid for. I trusted it was an oversight, but since it was 7 miles from my house, decided not to drive back. I figured Id get it the next time I ordered. Turns out I was wrong.I was placing my new order today and mentioned the meat sauce issue and was told Id have to call back tomorrow and speak to the manager who would need to look up the receipt to verify that I actually ordered the side before they could do anything. The girl was very matter of fact and short, leaving a very bad taste.Well, that was enough of an insult to break what was previously unbreakable for 5 decades. Yes, I cancelled my order and will never go back, nor bring my family to this restaurant again. Ive spent many thousands over the years and they dont trust my word that I was shorted a $5. item.Im very bummed, but there are far too many good food choices available, if thats all it was about. I was going back for the belief of supporting what I thought was family.

Been going here for 20 years. The fresh mozzarella is heavenly! I suggest it in salads, on pizzas, and in pastas. And the cannoli is amazing. Just like in New York.

Marri’s dates back to the 1970s for me when they were located on Broadway between Atlantic and Alamitos. The best Italian food on Mother Earth. I was elated to discover their store on Stearns in LB. I could hardly believe they were still around. Check them out. You won’t be disappointed.

This is my first time in this place. My daughter picked the place!! We ordered 3 different dishes and all of them were delicious 😋😍!! The prices are reasonable and affordable 👌!! And all the staff are very friendly and professional 👍👏👏And thr size of the dishes are perfect!! Highly recommend and definitely come back again

I have to say I have not been a pizza eater in many years, however when the gal opened the pizza box I blurted out how beautiful the pizza was. The pizza smelled so good and the cheese and crust had my mouth watering . The pizza was amazing and it tasted so fresh and flavorful. I definitely will be back again . We ordered the family meal that came with the cheese pizza we added sausage, spaghetti with meat sauce, salad, and garlic bread.. the meal deal said for 2 but it could feed 4-5 people for sure .

Amazing restaurant! Me and my husband stopped here on our vacation and it has been some of the best food we have eaten. We ordered to go because we had our dog with us and everything was fresh and hot. Absolutely amazing!

I am a Chicano, born and raised in south central LA (everything in this review is important to me). We started with 2 for 1 pizza, moved on to little Ceasars; which quickly changed from selling pizza, to selling cardboard inside a pizza box and calling it pizza, but hey, it has cheese on it, who cares right? Well, I did! To say I lost hope is an understatement, so on a hiatus I went. After maybe 15 years (yes 15 years away from pizza, I know) of avoiding the normal pizza place, pizza palace, and pizza, Gods I decided to jump back in. After all, my dates were getting expensive, and which girl didnt love pizza right, it was a no brainer. To my surprise, the pizza regime had somewhat gone cold, in other words, a good pizza was hard to find, no biggie, Ill go to New York, travel a bit, and draw on those pizza taste buds. After all, New York is the champion when it comes to pushcart pizza vendors right. Hold it like a taco, and cram it down your face they said, SO I DID! For only a dollar, we rationed pizza like soldiers wading off hunger. It was good, but not excellent. I left with the desire to find my pizza savior. I was not satisfied. Upon returning to Los Angeles, here I was, back at square one. To make this short, King of New York pizza, some Chicago style places (super dense stuff), and thin crust advocates all failed me. Some people dont care, some people say, pizza is pizza and I dont need that negativity in my life. I refuse to settle for less, those people are cheap seats, with cheap liquor personalities, Im not one of those people. To make my point clear, I hope you realize what Im saying, are you picking up what Im putting down!? So if youre like me and have been waiting to be able to raise a giant pizza box over your head and say, I FOUND IT! and have stopped in to Marris pizza, I congratulate you. I too have been able to relinquish my pizza history, stand tall and devour these airy, fluffy, smorgasbord of pizza pies. I dont care what they put on top of these things, just give me the pizza I have been waiting for all my life. I am near 40 years old, I am very healthy, and after all these years I can honestly say, this place fills my heart with pizza love. To the world famous Marris, thank you. I commend you for staying true to the pizza Gods and gracing my presence with such a fulfilling experience. The place, the flavor, and of course, the customer service. Not much else can be said except I love your pizza, and thank you. Thank you forever, for everyone, all of us. Amen.

Marris Pizza have always been my number one place to eat. With so many options on the menu you can never go wrong with their awesome fully loaded pizza. At the moment you will not be allowed to dine in, so its best to call ahead or place your order in person. Enjoy!

Nothing compares the style of pizza and pasta of Marris in Long Beach. Its recipes are so much better with a unique taste then the the marris in Anaheim its completely different recipes. I drive miles just to Long beach to get my fix. You must try.

Been to this location several times. Always delicious except my last order was enough for me to never go back again. The pizza crust was half raw and half stiff like they got it out of a day old dumpster. For shame! Ill take my business to Prince st pizza.

Yesterday, was our first time eating Marris. There were people coming and going. Everyone we spoke with told us of our amazing the food was. The owner Kathy was amazing, friendly, gave recommendations, and told us the history of the restaurant of how they started in Italy. We order meat lovers pizza, pasta with mushroom sauce, salad, and garlic bread. The food was amazing and I kept going back for more. Great place, great food and great people. Marris is highly recommended.

The “small” calzon was big enough to fill me up and have some for later! It had a lot of cheese and I asked for pepperoni and most of it slid to one side but it was still good.

I’ve been wanting my boys to try this pizza for about 8 years now. My neighbors gave a slice back then and it was delicious. We drove past Marri’s yesterday and it reminded me!I ordered a medium bbq chicken pizza, medium meat lovers and small Marri’s special. Let’s just say we are a large portion family of 4. There’s still 1 1/2 pizzas left. It is so filling and delicious. Not much difference between meat lovers and Marri’s special. Stick with the meat lovers.Only reason for a 4 star and not a 5 star is that they don’t take American Express cards.

Literally my favorite restaurant of all time. My family has been going to Marris since my dad was my age, and weve gone here when we visited California ever since I can remember. In 20+ years the flavors have never changed, and the people are always the best. Now that I live in California, even though Im an hour and a half away, I always go for special occasions.

Really good pizza, they are not stingy with the toppings the matterhorn is a one slice for me. I can eat 4 or 6 of round table. Asparagus artichoke salad but the dressing is blah . The pesto cheese bread was wow . We are looking forward to trying there sandwiches the bread looks great.

Best Pizza in town!!!!Just dont appreciate standing outside the business....breathing the heavy and very unhealthy cigar smoke blowing directly on Marrus customers awaiting their orders.Additionally. This place was recommended to us so we decided to try it... we started with the pesto cheese bread which was very cheesy & pretty good. We ordered the meat lovers pizza & the veggie delight. My son said the meaty pizza was delicious. He said he’d recommend it. The veggie on the other hand, was very disappointing. The veggies were thick cut, thus not allowing them to bake properly. They were somewhat raw still... the mushrooms were canned, rubbery. But the most disappointing part of this pizza was the crust. It was tasteless & hard. For the amount of weight with the cheese & toppings, i would have thought the crust would be affected— maybe softened. Anyway, I’m willing to give it a second try on a different meal.The service is excellent though. Very friendly.

This is the best family restaurant in Long Beach. The owner is very family oriented. They use the best ingredients in their food. The staff is fun. Tyre owner takes pride in her restaurant. Used to go to the Marris pizza place on Long Beach Boulevard tag those walls big time. my husband found you guys around 9 years ago and Ive been going there since love you guys keep up the good work ( on Stern Street)

Best Italian takeout spot around. Only other place I compare it to would be Lomelis way out west. Definitely go for any of the specials theyre all excellent. The chicken parm sandwich is a sleeper and always get the salad!

Good Italian food from a varied menu. Reasonably priced. Large portions ensuring leftovers for another meal or two. Recommend the half carafe of house chianti. Pasta with the rose sauce (red/ white mix) is also good. Place is rather small. Been in business a long time. Parking difficult at peak hours. Take-out available.

We had lunch today and it was amazing. The service was fun and efficient. Our waitress (Cathy) asked what we like and custom made our lunch for us which was perfect in every way. We started with a salad and homemade dressing, seafood ravioli in a vodka sauce (to die for), garlic bread with pesto and cheese (Authentic), and pizza (two different kinds) and because that wasn’t enough two different types of chicken sandwiches. Seriously, everything was fresh and fantastic. We have food for three days!! We can’t wait to take our family there when they come to visit. I highly recommend this place for everyone.

Honestly I love Marris pizza, I have been ordering their pizza for years. I always refer marris if people have not tried their pizza. Toppings under the cheese so delicious! Now for why I have one star. The last time I ordered Marris, there was a bug in my salad. I couldnt keep eating it. I called the restaurant, It was nicely explained, there have been issues with farmers. I understand things happen and the establishment is doing their best to wash the lettuce. But maybe however they do wash the salad isnt working. I ordered again and one of my salads was compted. Right now I went to eat my salad and there was another bug. I was hopeful it was ranch and then I could see a wing. I absolutely love their salad but I cant eat it once I find a bug or hair. I assumed because I had a bug in my food before that it wouldnt happen again. That was my mistake to assume. This establishment has great customer service. But even the pizza when I ask for light sauce still has sauce, coming out of the top of the pizza. And the cheese falling off with the toppings. I guess what sucks is I thought my business was taken serisouly as a devoted customer. To find the same thing happen again. The worst part is the salad and dressing are so good, I want to finish it but then I imagine myself eating more bugs.

Ordered lazania and submarine sandwich, normally great food but this time the lazania was good but the sandwich was made on old stale bread and did not taste very good.

Today I picked up a 10inch Sausage and Pepperoni Pizza. All I can say is very well worth the 3.8 mile travel to pick up this delicious pizza. The pizza is uniquely assembled with the meat on the bottom and all the mozzarella on top. Ill be back.

Have been coming to this place for at least 10 years and it is still a great bargain. Will definitely go back again. The person I was with remembers it opening in 1957 when his son was born.

Outstanding locale, outstanding food and outstanding service!! The best kept secret in town, do yourself a favor and visit this jewel of a place. Homemade pizza baked in a brick oven. Doesnt get better than that!!

Tried some of the pasta and the sauce was good. Pizza had to much cheese, but the crust was good, but I mostly tasted cheese which might have been better if cooked longer. Service could have been more attentive and friendly as well, maybe just a bad day for our waitress. Ill probably try again to go have pasta there.

The food is always hot and fresh. Love their pizzas. The pizza is never greasy and the toppings stay on the pizza without falling off. The pasta is fresh nice portions. Always have left overs because you cant finish the food.

I love Marris is the only place I go for pizza. But I was surprise when I picked up from them the other day and I ordered an Italian sub, a meatball sub and some pasta and my Italian sub was awful bread was old and the meat also the meat was hard and the pasta was no good. I wont order subs or pasta anymore but I will always get the pizza.

Love this pizza people pretty nice but one thing that irritated me is there services was bad taking all day to take our order. Other than that don’t have any other issues with this spot. Thanks marris best pizza I’ve had in long time really cheesy.

Delicious New York style Italian food. The front of Marris looks small but it expands in the back. The decor is a combination of Italian motifs with local sports memorabilia. The staff is friendly and the service is decently fast. That being said, it does get crowded so you can expect a wait. The parking lot is also moderately sized so there can sometimes be problems parking.

Drove all the way from Chino to go here.

A wonderful neighborhood place to take the family. Great food. Friendly staff. The manager, Cathy, went above and beyond making us feel at home our last visit. She was awesome!
