I live in Texas but Michael made me feel comfortable buying a bike from such a distance. Zero regrets. Very happy customer. I would gladly buy from here again.
I love this little shop. I like the fact that the mask restriction is NOT mandated. Its easier to talk without it but being vaccinated helps. I digress. The lights are wonderful. They light up the complex I live in. Thank you for the great suggestion for the cateye lights.
The staff was very helpful; however, in the middle of me discussing a bike with a staffer, what I can only assume was the owner made a rude comment behind my back and sold the bike to a customer behind me. I never even spoke to them. I was flabbergasted!!!
Very disappointed with this shop. I bought my bike from them many years ago. Bike needed a tune-up, possibly new tire (was in storage for a long time). Went to pickup the bike, asked if theres any notes on the condition - no. Kickstand was not functioning, asked about that, they agreed to try and fix it which they did, and offer to replace it (I declined). Just surprised that they were returning it not working. No information on the receipt -- nothing circled - wrong color written in. Someone wrote a note on tell her dont -- called next day about it, was told that is not on the original, someone must have written on top of my receipt for someone else. Minor stuff, but shows careless attitude. Much of my receipt has double writing. Would have liked to get some comments on the overall condition for $85 worth of service. One positive - woman who called me when bike ready was very helpful in trying to get me info on bike hitches, and made some good recommendations (UHaul). She was great. Beyond all this, no one in the shop wears a mask during the pandemic either day I was there - says a lot right there.
The Peddler is the acquired taste of the Jersey Shore bicycling world. The other store in the area is over-polished, but the Peddler will undersell you every time. They actually refuse to take money for something you will not use or will use less than optimally, even if you want it! Going there is not always good for your state of mind, but it is great for your bike. Sure theyre crusty, but fair prices, good product, and the mechanics know what they’re doing.
The Peddler is a great place to buy a bike and buy your cycling needs. The staff is extremely helpful.
I couldnt be happier with my experience at The Peddler. I was in need of new bikes for myself and my two kids and wanted to make sure my next purchase of bikes was going to last. The owner, Michael, was super helpful over the phone and in person in a very trying time. He went above and beyond to make sure I had all three bikes built at the same time. I am thankful I went with The Peddler bike shop and supported a small local business.
It is rare when you find customer service that makes you feel at home. I was helped from the moment I walked in right through my purchase(s). I felt that the shop anticipated my needs and offered constructive ideas knowing that I was a senior citizen. I am glad we have such a place in the Long Branch area.
Not helpful or Friendly at all.
This place is the best service..I have been dealing with the peddler for over 25 years since redbank..still have my Cannondale super v fatty
The best bike store in Long Branch and the nicest owner I ever met. Michael went above and beyond to assist me in purchasing a Specialized Vado E Bike
Service is fast and efficient. Weve bought quite a few bikes here and always get a good deal. Great local place!
I have bought several bikes there, and use the store for all of my repairs and fittings I am happy to have them in my area Cannot go wrong
I recieved a bike here in Chicago boxed and shipped from this shop. It was meticulously packaged. I would highly recommend them for your pro bike shipping needs.
Get your bicycles here.
Super helpful, knowledgeable a fixture on the shore for years. Got my bike tuned up...on time, no extra charges. The service was worth the money.
I was late for the arthritis walk to cure 5k in Long Branch may 4 2019 and my jogging stroller had a flat. They opened early and saved my day by replacing the tube on the tire. At that point I would have paid anything . But that was not the case, they instead charged a very fair price. Thank you so much. On top of it they we very nice. Its people like this that make America great.
One of the few retail stores open during the covin 19. Very poor customer service if any at all. Left after ten minutes of the “owner/ manager “ never got off the computor than the phone, and still never acknowledged my even being in his store. On to DJs!
Really nice people and place. Thanks for the air and quick diagnostic.
The best part of my experience was that all of the employees I dealt with at The Peddler were friendly and helpful despite being clearly over worked due to the season.I ordered a new hybrid online which required some assembly. Once together, the gears and brake needed fine tuning. I took it to The Peddler, told them I just needed fine tuning of the brakes and gears and nothing else. They told me well, its going to be 2 weeks before we can do it. I was perfectly fine with that and so I left my bike with them. Two weeks later, I called to check and found that it was ready. Once in the shop, one of the employees retrieved my bike, and informed me that the price would be $85. I politely explained to the employee exactly what I mentioned in the previous paragraph and asked to talk to a manager (which turned out to be the owner). Again, I politely explained the situation and was told well, I can take $5 off. I told him fine, Ill pay it because what choice do I have, but that would mean that I wouldnt be coming back. At that point, he LOST HIS MIND. He said just take the Fing (he used the full word) bike and get out. I told him that Id be happy to pay a fair price but was told get the F out. I was stunned, and I said wow, youre nuts, to which he replied go F yourself.I have never been treated so unprofessionally, and I will be strongly suggesting to anyone interested in my opinion to take their business elsewhere. To top it off, as I rode it home I realized that the gears STILL werent adjusted correctly and the chain rubbed against the front derailleur...
Went in to get my rear tire flat fixed. He said there was an invisible wire in the tire and can’t be fixed. The tire needs to be replaced never heard of that but I did it no problem$55. When he removed the tire he moved the breaks and didn’t put them back in the right position. I couldn’t even roll the bike out. When I asked him he said it was good enough. A simple 2 minutes thing. Now I couldn’t ride the bike over the weekend and I have to go drive a half an hour away to somewhere nicer to their customers and get it fixed. Like literally all slanted the breaks. Of course he had an attitude and I just walked out. Not cool!
Nice selection of bikes but....My grandmother went to purchase an inner tube for my nephews bike and the guy in the back short not the tall guy who does all the repairs caught an attitude with her just because she ask if he can do it on the spot like are you serious it take literally 2 min to put in and we been long branch residents all our life good job! You lost a loyal customer!
Nice bike shop with a great variety of bikes. Mostly Specialized and Jamis but other makes are available. Michael was very helpful and gave me good advise to choose the right bike. I am now the owner of a gravel bike. Worth visiting!
Great bike shop and good service
When a bike shop has to put a coffee shop in to help keep the bike shop open, it means all you locals (and Im one) should be going to The Peddler buying coffee AND bikes/accessories whenever you need either. Even if its not in stock....or $5 cheaper on Amazon. You will all be remiss the day The Peddler closes its doors. However, with that said the owner needs to step up his game also to go the extra mile (pun intended) to those who have been loyal over so many years. Lots of new construction going on around you M. which I hope you monetize and turn into lifetime clients. A free espresso with a tune up or because we know we are paying more for those riding glasses than the price on Amazon? Might go a long way.....
Knowledgeable staff and positive attitude to helping biker owners.
Very bad experience ... the first day a bald man shouted at me .. leave my bike with specifications. and none of that was done ... almost a month and they had not done anything, because they had lost the receipt. what kind of person loses that. I returned for my bike and nothing that was damaged, nothing was fixed. I almost paid half of the cost of my bike for nothing ... difinitivamente very bad experience. In other stores they asked me you want to take the old piece and there nothing .. now Im unhappy as you look at my bike ... it looks like any bike😡😡😡😡🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Best place i ever went to the employees are excellent come here for a bike for riding and for trails.Try out the Electric Bikes they are the most fun and free try to.
No matter if your problems difficult or simple they always have an answer for you and fix it quickly. Great range of bicycles in the highest of the high end to just cruising on a beach, they have it.
The Peddler is an A-1 all around Excellent store. I worked for the owners dad 3 decades ago and their quality assurance is off the charts
Just bought an Elektra Townie for my wife. Ray was extremely helpful and went out of his way to help me get the bike ready. I will absolutely buy my next bike through the Peddler and Ray. Thanks a lot!
They are always very helpful to me and theyre great at what they do I would recommend the peddler to any person who likes to ride
Very good bike selection,Also has the best helping employees cant wait til i buy a se bike from there wise selection
Quick service and fair price! (Nice selection too!)
Fantastic experience. Went in to purchase a new road bike. The staff was attentive, helpfull and no pressure. Couldnt recommend Mike and his team more.
Walked into the shop on Friday 5/11. Looked around for 25 minutes before I could get any help or service. When I finally did, I decided on a specialized rockhopper expert. Was told that it would take 3 business days to arrive and a couple days more after that until it was ready. Since my hope was to have it by memorial day weekend so that seemed reasonable and I left a deposit. Was told they would call me when it came in or if anything changed. The following week passed so Friday 5/19 I decided to call to see if there was a problem. Was told this time my bike just came in and it would just be ready in a few days. Considering theyre open 7 days a week, I called again Today 5/22 hoping for an update, and NOW am told it wont be ready until next week.It is now unclear when if ever I will get my bike and am very disappointed with their customer service.
They know nothing about bikes obviously I Wendy to get my forks tightened and they told me I was missing parts and would have to pay labor charges for hem to find out what was missing, so I went to cags cycles and Dan tightened my forks no problem because nothing on my bike is missing. This is not the first time peddlers tried to tell me something was wrong when there wasn’t. And the prices for inner tubes are cheaper at Cags cycles
E-bikes are welcome in this shop, nice and friendly people.
Bought a great mountain bike from this store and loved their selection and the fact that they have reduced sales tax. Also, very nice service and very friendly repair shop.
If you live at the Shore or are just visiting for the weekend/summer, do whatever you can to avoid this place. I dont care if your bike breaks down across the street and your only alternative is to walk three miles to Asbury Park...start walking. The service is horrible. The prices are ridiculously high. They take care of the customers that look like they can be duped and dupe them into too much bike. They are - hands down - the worst bike shop in New Jersey (and I dont think they care). The guy that gave them five stars has to be a (distant) relative.
Best bike mechanics around, helpfully staff same guys been working here forever that says alot!
Great place to fix bikes!
Always great service and helpful staff.
Only place I go! Nice to be recognized by name when I walk in!
Have been buying all our bikes (various and numerous Specialized and Cannondale models) for my family at The Peddler of Long Branch since 1995. Simply cannot rate The Peddler of Long Branch highly enough!
Great people to negotiate with!!! Knowledgeable staff!
Friendly staff and clean store but zero selection of bmx gear within a mile of a skatepark? Seems like a missed opportunity
Poor service and bad prices, worse is impossible 🤦🏻♂️
Cags is better
Top rate place
Great people
