I like to stop by this coffee shop while I am in Long Branch. I dont understand the nasty reviews on this place. I have never had any issues with service or quality of the coffee. Today I had an Iced Chai Latte that was really good. The staff was friendly and the place is kept clean to follow COVID regulations. I will definitely stop by again the next time I am in the area.
After meeting with a client on Monday I stopped by the Corner Cafe for a quick bite. The Cuban Panini was delicious. The service was excellent. I enjoyed sitting outside and listening to the Atlantic. Very relaxing. So relaxing that I left my jacket with my wallet at the Cafe. I did not figure this out till I was home in CT 3 hours later. When I called, the Manager Micheal Keating offered to overnite the items back to me. This place rocks. I hope I need to go to the clients again so I can personally thank them.
The gelato is so-so. Coffee was burnt last time I had it. The breakfast sandwiches were awful :( I so want to like this place. The location is awesome and I love places where you can get a quick bite. But so far pretty much everything has disappointed.
This place was awful. The food was disgusting. The chicken soup tasted bad like it was old, one bite and I knew something was wrong and the panini was microwaved. My coworker tried to eat porkroll but the meat was unidentifiable. How could they stay in business. Completely inedible and I told the staff and they said oh sorry and dont get me started on the bathroom. Gross. Only reason to give 1 star is because it wouldnt let me post without doing so.
We been down to Long Branch a dozen times and always hit The corner Cafe.Today we had Strawberry Smoothie, the young girl behind the counter made a perfect frozen drink.
Its a lovely rustic style and very welcoming place.
Ordered mango ice cream. Got peanut butter instead because ice cream buckets were mislabeled. After I noted that they replaced the bucket but I was not offered actual mango flavored ice cream. Other flavors we ordered (strawberry, mint chocolate) were horrible too.
Great coffee, espresso, caramel macchiato place. Nice dessert and sweets to go with coffees. Also regular food as bistro emplys. Coffee is their specialty, but they also have a nice selection of cigars. Also the outside seating is excellent as well. Their decor is like a European cafe, and they accomplish this very well.
Iced Chai tea was delicious. However, I ordered a chicken salad with mozzarella and garden vegetables, unaware that that actually meant roasted red peppers and black olives. Although the grilled chicken pieces were delicious, the iceberg lettuce was still wet. It wasnt very pleasant to eat. My husband ordered a proscuitto panini and instead got a microwaved panini with baked ham and non melted mozzarella cheese.
Got gelato, probably the worst I had, and mango was peanut butter instead. When mentioned, they switched in fridge, but didt offer to correct the two orders that were messed up. Should have looked at reviews, I guess there is enough new foot traffic that they dont need to care about customer reviews.
Prosciutto panini came with what seemed to be baked ham, not prosciutto, which was a warm slice of meat on an otherwise cold sandwich.I guess the iced coffee was ok? Not worth the money they charge.
Love this place. Friendly and good coffee. And clean.
Service took forever and workers were rude while I was simply waiting for my food. I’m not saying everyone has to be cooking, but a ton of people were waiting for food and there were 3 workers just standing around not even updating us on our food status.
Cute vibe and convenient, a little pricey. Wish they served French fries! Their fountain soda was flat
Worst service and attitude from lady at the register today. Asked for what was in the cake pop and she literally shakes her head saying ‘I don’t know’. Rolling eyes and worst attitude. Not sure how management is letting this happen. Terrible place.
I just moved into pier Village and was excited to try this café, after looking it up on Google and seeing the horrible reviews I was disappointed but honestly a bit curious to see if they were accurate, so I decided to try it for the first time today. The 2 young girls at the front counter were a bit shy and nervous to answer questions but very sweet. I ordered a sandwich and an iced coffee; totaling $11 with tip included which is a fantastic price.I spent no longer than ten minutes looking at their rustic decor, it was warm and the desert counter looks like something out of a Baking TV Show. Just absolutely beautiful presentation, although I did not try any.The coffee was excellent, they use crushed ice and offer a self help bar for additions such as sugar and cream; I suggest getting a sweetened spurt of syrup. The breakfast sandwich was very large, almost like a 6-inch sub. It was also served hot and cooked through, however it had the quality of something you’d get from a public high school cafeteria... not my cup of tea >< but I know some people enjoy it, it wasn’t nasty but... it wasn’t good... ya know? >.
Online menu doesn’t match the menu in the cafe. Food is good though
Good coffee and very friendly service
The iced coffee was watery and the egg sandwiches were made with pre made microwave eggs, confirmed by the staff. Go to Dunkin’ Donuts.
Great singing duo of Sheri and Pete!
The staff was very rude and had attitude; the food (if I can call it that)... where do I even start:1. Tomato and mozzarella panini was just a loaf of bread with tomatoes and not melted mozzarella. It wasn’t warned up or toasted - came out cold. “Panini” bread picture attached below.2. Roast beef panini came out with nothing but meat on it (they forgot to add the cheese). Meat tasted like rubber.3. Bagels with ham and eggs were stale, one boiling hot, one stone cold. They used frozen eggs on both bagels (an egg patty - like McDonald’s).4. Watered down coffee. Now to the positives, chips weren’t bad - but I’m pretty sure that’s because they didn’t make them.
Sandwiches missing ingredients, soup never came. The stuff we did end up getting was bland.
We ordered two ham, egg and cheeses on a bagel. The eggs were microwaved and the cheese wasn’t even melted. Not to mention it was close to a 15 minute wait and there was absolutely no hustle in any way shape or form from any employee we saw. Would not recommend.
Breakfast: decent cup of coffee and breakfast sandwich. Pretty quick. Coffee is def better than the pods in hotel room, and well worth the morning walk at the ocean.
Great service. Owner is very nice
Very very rude staff. When I ordered they were rushing me, even though the place was empty. When my food was brought out to me by the girl with glasses she literally slammed the food down on the table and was very rude. If u dont like your job, go work somewhere else. The food overall was decent, worth the price. But staff, needs a lot of help. Btw it says they are open till 8, but at 4:40 they were rushing me that they are closing. The girls working here should think a little.
Couldnt get waited on. One server/cashier was helping an undecided customer & his kids. I asked another server/cashier if she could help us, & she said the other server/cashier waiting on the man would help us, because she was busy cleaning. The 3rd server/cashier was cleaning behind the counter also. Ugh!
Used to drop in whenever visiting friends... Griends stopped going there for same reasons we did.... RUDE CRUDE and Mediocre!
Horrible experience! The wait for about 40 minutes for three sandwich. No plain bagels and it’s only mid-day. Sandwich were drenched in mustard. The only good thing was the chips that were added towards the sandwiches and the frozen drinks. Other than that, customer service does not deserve a one star.
Genuinely bad food
Slowest service ever! With being the summer in pier village they should hire people who a bit more capable of handling a lot of customers. Literally the employees take their sweet time, stop working and have conversations with each other while customers wait for them to be ready to work
I would give ZERO stars if I could! The service was the WORST I have ever experienced. I normally don’t write reviews but my experience was SO BAD I had to do something about it. The staff was incredibly rude and acted like they couldn’t be bothered. The food took over and hour when it wasn’t even busy. To top it off, the food when it finally came out was HORRIBLE. Do not come here!!!!!
Excellent little coffee shop. The food is good, the coffee is fresh, the people that work there are friendly. It is easily accessible. I would definitely recommend this place.
I happened to go on a really busy day (July 4th), and it was clear they were going to be busy, and the line was going to be long, which is ok. The problem is that being that was the case (busy 7/4), the staff was not trying to be quick at all. One of the girls at the register couldn’t even get the order right! I asked for 4 cappuccinos, one of them decaf, and she understood something totally different, after repeating it 3 times, she understood. Then the two girls making the coffees, were taking their sweet time making them. Once the fireworks started one of them said while moving her hands “shoo shoo, fireworks started”, I’m sure she was joking, but she should have not done that in front of customers. When I asked to please hurry up with my four drinks, she said with a really nasty attitude “it takes time you know”, and she started taking more time to finish the last cappuccino, which it looked totally on purpose.I shared this with a friend of mine who has a place in Long Branch, and told me that the staff there is not terrible only during busy days, they are terrible even on their slowest days. The two stars is because the cappuccinos and muffins were not bad! You need to work on your staff.
Terrible experience at this coffee shop. Bought coffee and desserts for our ride home from the beach. Honey /almond custard dessert tasted like it was immersed in soap. I thought it was just something I wasnt used to however, my friend had biscotti that tasted exactly the same :/ awful. Also the bathroom was completely disgusting, worse than a frat house. So I called to speak a manager and a rude employee asked me why ... Are you even kidding me? This is why. Never again. Way overpriced.
Great service. Supper clean
Egg white panini is actually just egg whites and bread. It’s what I ordered, but not what I expected. The bread wasn’t toasted or pressed. The staff is a bunch of 14 year olds who need a lot of practice in customer service—no eye contact and not friendly. Would not come back.
Useful spot if you are in Pier Village and want a quick bite. I like their paninis, and espresso is pretty good. They have in and outside seating. They also offer desserts, smoothies, ice cream and cigars.
Absolutely disgusting. Have no idea how they serve the food they do.
I ordered a hot coffee and it was cold. I also bought an italian cheesecake and guest what? It was not fresh, so i didn’t eat. There was an only person who work there at this time and she was hoovering when we were sitting in the cafe. Yes, may be the cafe close at 6 or 7 pm but stil it is nonsense.
Standard café with industrial-sourced products. Salads, sandwiches, etc, to stay to go. Large inside seating area. Efficient, gets the job done. In NYC we’d call this a deli. The milkshakes were serviceable and prices are decent.(Also, there’s a large selection of cigars, and the café apparently roasts its own coffee.)
Not a lot of options but not bad
As I write this I have been waiting on line and for my food for over an hour. The customer service is terrible and the employees move incredibly slow. For a breakfast place in a shore town with tourists - there should be more employees working and at a fast pace.Do not come here. Make breakfast at home.
Terrible service!!Rude and unprofessional.. don’t want to come anymore.
The owner was very nervous when I was ordering, also made a tasteless latte
Coffee is good and the atmosphere cozy. Aside from the deserts Id stay away from the food though. For the most part, the staff is aloof.
Ordered grilled chicken panini with mozzarella and spinach. Received it without spinach and chicken was undercooked. I had to send it back to be cooked thoroughly and still without spinach. Staff is also rude. Maybe they were having an off day but I doubt Ill be coming back here again.
This place should be ashamed for selling their Taylor ham, egg & cheese panini. Every person who ordered that sandwich opened it and had the same surprised/disgusted/offended look on their face. There were two incredibly thin slices of pork roll that were thinner than a slice of prosciutto. The egg was a microwaved version of scrambled eggs. Very disappointing. How can you serve this to people with a straight face? Especially embarrassing considering this location is in a prominent Jersey shore area where guests are paying premium $. For non-NJ people looking to try an authentic Taylor ham, egg and cheese sandwich, do not come here. Find a diner or deli whos honest enough to give you a decent sandwich. Ps. This is not about money. This is about having integrity in the services you provide consumers.
Wish we would have read the reviews first. We scoped the place out the night before and it looked so cute and inticing. The next morning we headed over. No good morning, no hello... that’s ok, they were busy tossing napkins at each other from behind the counter, the food was not what I expected. Just like the other review mentioning the poor quality and lack of appeal. The bagel was so hard, the eggs were formed and rubbery. This cute little place has such great potential, but they are missing the mark.
Service is terrible. They take forever to get you the food even if you order a simple turkey wrap on a non busy day. You’ll still be there there way too long and they’ll mess up your order. Whole staff needs to be fired
Very very rude counter help and the Vesuvius dessert was not fresh. My husband had pistachio gelato that had little pistachio flavor. Not coming back!
We went to Long Branch to spend the day. Most restaurants were busy, but this was almost empty. We went in to get some icecream because there were no lines. Big and expensive mistake. Bad service and worse icecream.
Food not that good for high prices...slow service...it took 25 minutes to get bagel with butter...never go back
Great service, it was busy but workers were attentive and fast. A large selection and good fresh food!
I ordered 2 small size sugar free black cherry gelato for $3.99 each & they gave me only half a scoop on each cup. What a rip off !!!
Very unmemorable from a food standpoint. They have some nerve charging what they do. Staff aloof as heck. Slow service. Take your money and loved ones elsewhere.
The manager that have glasses is very unprofessional no costumer service and the owners are even worst. I won’t recommend this to nobody plus the food service sucks.
One of the WORST experiences I’ve ever had in a food place ever. I ordered a belgium waffle that came out completely raw and uncooked. I apologized for the inconvenience to them (even though the café was practically empty) and their servers just gave me odd looks and took it away. After receiving a second waffle, that was also very much uncooked, I brought it back again and asked for something else this time. I was never once apologized to, and was told by a server that it wasn’t their fault and that they use a machine so there was nothing they could do about it. Frustrated, because a restaurant should never serve undercooked food to paying customers, I was given a refund and ordered a toasted bagel instead. They literally burnt it until it was black, and so I just left. Like I said before WORST EXPERIENCE ever, I would not recommend this café to anyone.
Very rude staff and long wait time. Overcharged my card, no apology at all and very bad attitude.
Went to get a pastry and coffee cashier said we are doing ice cream now and never took the order. Not returning
I order capuccino just with a little bit of steam almond milk, they end up putting a lot of almond milk..well i reorder a espresso with the frosting on the side and i made my capuccino....italian style. Is hard to undwratand when you are not a batista
Didnt really like it to be frank. The coffee just wasnt good and the vanilla protein smoothie was almost tasteless. There are a lot of ice cream flavors here that looked good though.
Love life and family!
Great place in Long Branch to get a quick bite to eat at reasonable prices
Good friendly beach coffee shop. Average on the coffee and food.
I only got gelato here. But their gelato is pretty good. They gave a heaping pile of gelato for a reasonable $4 so it satisfied my craving. If youre looking for ice cream near here this is a decent place to go. The employees here werent very happy to serve and were slow to come help us.
On a Nice, Summer day, enjoyed Refreshing MANGO Gelato @ Corner Cafe in Beautiful Long Branch, NJ 😋
I got very bad food poisoning from the eggplant panini. Avoid!!!
I had the chai latte and egg panini. Chai latte was very good but the egg painini had no taste. Served with just egg and bread, there was no lettuce, no tomatoes or salt & pepper. I would only come here again for the chai latte not the panini
Luv the place, great food n drinks, luv their coffee/lattes
Terrible place, rude and totally unprofessional crew, the manager on duty today was helpless and clueless, the worst part about it they dont care at all. I wish I could rate them below one star, its too high for this place, take my advice and dont step into this place.
Rude staff. Expensive drinks.
The employees were getting upset with other customers and, upon ordering, the menu is different than what’s posted (no waffles at all on gameday-a Saturday; no cheddar etc.)
Never get a frozen cappuccino, taste like your drinking straight cinnamon I felt like I was repulsively vomiting with every sip
My order got lost and the salad was inedible
Very disappointing that a bakery has nothing freshly prepared in the morning. Most items were there overnight and possibly for days. 7-Eleven does better.
Coffee is not really good and pastries sometimes not fresh, but location is convenient and prices not that high as for that area.
Good live music on Saturday night.
Good gelato and lattes..worst pork roll Ive ever had .
Great coffeeeeee, and service with a smile
They have the best pumpkin latte
Love their Cafe Latte
Slow service, low quality food
Workers are very nasty, no kindness no smiling but good coffee
Great coffee
Horrible! Asked about allergy information and the Manager Greg was so rude.
Loved the staff
Great bistro
Very good milkshakes
