Great restaurant bar. Ive been coming here for years and it never disappoints me. The food is traditional Brazilian/Portuguese cuisine. Large tasty portions at a very decent price. The service is attentive and the environment cheerful, sometimes they have life music. You must stop by if in the area.

Had a delicious dinner with friends. First time there, but it wont be my last.

Sunday 11 July 2021This was my first time ever eating in a Brazilian restaurant. It was also my first time in New Jersey.Miss Raiza, a very nice and very cute waitress was great from start to finish.Jose Carlos, the cook did an excellent job. My friend, her and I both liked all the food.My only disappointment was this restaurant does Not give Free drinks Refills on sodas like other restaurants.The food is great and a very good menu, but it is very difficult to talk or hear the other person due to the very loud noise of happy people.

Great Sangria.Friendly, professional service from the all-female staff..Theres a reason why all the local Portuguese come here...Its really good authentic food.Really big portions, reasonable prices.Only one complaint- they serve a steak that cooks on a stone at your table - Im sure its delicious- But the smoke gets to be too much and they dont have an effective smoke removal system.

Robbbberryyyyy!!! This place automatically adds 20% gratuity to your bill. Then suggests you add an additional tip… Absolute robbery. On top of that it’s dirty and service sucks

I try to go to Por do Sol at least once or twice a month... They have great food... I often have the Shrimp in Garlic Sauce or the Cheesesteak Sandwich with fries... Their Calamare Frito is also good... I usually drink a Coca-Cola or a glass of wine... Great Bar/Restaurant...

Read a lot of the reviews and decided to check this place out. Both the food and atmosphere were great. Service was on point and we enjoyed the entire experience. Big portions and very satisfying.

Recently ordered paella marinara for home delivery. It was fantastic and too top it off the staff added two complimentary desserts. The food was a hit with my guest.

It is a beautiful place to enjoy a beautiful dinner.Its a family place were the entire family will enjoy a good dinner and have a wonderful time toghether. Hands down the best Food outside of Portugal..No more trips to Newark for us!! Even better is their elegant sister restaurant Mar Belo just down Broadway. The ambiance, food and service are absolutely 5 star. They even opened up another room for catering. We are very picky so five stars are normally hard to offer up but from the sangria to the HUGE succulent shrimp they really nailed it.

Food was good! Place is way to busy and loud! Not a restaurant feel but a loud bar feel. There is NO parking you have to park in the street. Which can be hard to find! The staff is nice and fast! Place would do well with a separate place to eat without the bustle of truckers bar!

Amazing food! Ive been going here for quite a few years now and Im just impressed with their food. The bread is amazing and fills you up before you even get your meal. I love how they have small bowls of olives for you to sample while your waiting your food. The staff are nice and friendly. I normally get the filet mignon on a hot stone. Basically, they bring out the cut of meat on a burning hot stone with butter and salt so you can cook it to your liking. This place is great if you want some amazing food. It is a little expensive but I think its worth it. If you live in the area, or your just visiting, this place is a must.

Terrible service. We werent even seated, we had to seat ourselves and it took ten minutes for someone to come assist us. They rushed us the whole time and the waitress didnt check on us ONCE throughout the entire night. Not to mention, they forgot a part of our order and I had to remind them twice. They let alcohol sit at a table with kids who were clearly MINORS. When my wife and I paid, they asked for a tip in a very disrespectful tone. Our waitress gave us dirty looks during the entire time we were there and the food made my family and I sick.

I forgot really important documents on my table and I went back to take it, but the waitress said it is in the garbage and she didnt even apologize! And I didnt like the meat it has no flavor..

It has been better in the past. Service was excellent and friendly but the quality of food is just ok.
