I cant recommend Jeff at Action Machining enough. He is a genuinely nice guy, and an absolute expert at his trade. I was turned away and given a hard time at a few other machine shops in the area, and was just made to feel like I was inconveniencing them. Jeff was beyond helpful and even better, had it completed very quickly. If youre reading this review, dont even go to anyone else in the area. Just go see Jeff, he will win you over by just talking to him. This trade is an art form, and there are not many people like Jeff left. If you go anywhere else in Northern Virginia you are wasting your time and money. I took a chance on using his services and I am so happy I visited this shop. The attention to detail is outstanding and turn around time is the best I have experienced in this area. FYI, I fired six different machinists before I found this business, so I know what I am talking about. Jeff has earned my business for sure.

I cant say enough good about this shop, I took them a very small job to look at, being impatient I took the same small job across the street to see if the could do it faster, they couldnt and I took it home did what I could but fell a bit short on finishing the job. I get a phone call from Jeff just checking in to see if the other shop was able to get me taken care of, this for me.This was very good customer service in my mind. We agreed on the phone I could swing up same day and wait while he wrapped up the project, having the special tool I needed. I was surprised when I walked in the shop how organized Jeff was. He showed me some rollers that he had milled today ( Really nice work ) and took care of my small issue for $40 bucks same day, while I waited. Way to go Jeff you have a customer for life that will recommend the shop as well.

I had some e-brake cable brackets that wouldnt fit my new calipers. Jeff drilled out one hole on each braket within minutes (smaller bracket pictured)! Perfect fit after visiting Jeff! Price was perfect! Ill be coming back to Jeff for some custom fabricated miscellaneous brackets once my car gets off the dyno!

This is a great machine shop. I needed a part fixed for a piano lag bolt. They had it fixed in less than an hour and charged me an extremely reasonable rate. I would recommend these guys for anything you need.

I’ve had a great experience with several pieces that needed to be fabricated or modified recently. The work is as good as I could ask for and with a quick turnaround. I’m definitely a repeat customer!

Jeff is absolutely amazing. I had a broken stud in my turbo that would not come out and he stayed a bit after closing to get it fixed for me. Highly recommended. Even if he is unable to do something he can refer you to someone who can.

Jeff is a nice guy. 30 years experience, professional, knowledgeable and has good rates. Turn around time for my small project was same day! Although I cant guarantee how long he would need for any project. Other shops I had contacted wanted a week or more for what took Jeff 2 hours. Definitely will recommend him to friends and return for any future machining.

FANTASTIC! I had a small job for Jeff- Bending a brass rod and tapping the end for a brass knob to make an iron gate latch. I called Jeff at 12 noon and he said bring it over. As soon as I arrived he took my pieces, finished the work in less than an hour and charged me a very reasonable price. I could not have asked for more. His great service makes me look for more jobs to take him.

I called a machine shop that was closer to me, and they said they had a four-week backlog. They suggested I call Jeff. I did, and he was able to do the work the same day. Quick turnaround, professional workmanship, and a reasonable price. Couldnt ask for better! As Schwartzenegger would say, Ill be back!

We called Jeff on a Saturday with an unusual problem - I had been reassembling my telescope and had accidentally cross threaded the lens cell. It was completely stuck - half on, half off. We had called other machinists who were largely uninterested in tackling such a delicate problem. But when Jeff returned our call later that day, he seemed intrigued by the challenge and told us to bring it by.Well, to make a long story short, he got the pieces apart safely and cleaned up the mangled threads so they would go back together properly and then sent us on our way. Throughout the visit, Jeff was friendly and professional. And we were very pleased with the amount he charged us. Would highly recommend Action Machining to anyone!

I was having a serious problem with some pipes on the exhaust system on my boat. I took the pipes into Action Machining and asked if they could help. They helped me out right away and solved my problem in a quick and professional manner. I highly recommend Action Machining!

Jeff was excellent. He stopped what he was doing and focused on my problem. In 15 minutes, while it was still on the vehicle, he removed the remains of a hardened bolt I had snapped off in the rear differential of my truck. Excellent job Jeff. And thanks again.

Can not work directly on vehicles because of Business Park owners 🙁. He has the lowest hourly rates around. He has been doing projects for me since 1995. Great Guy.
