Plan on taking your time. The place is packed with so many things, such as books, table top housewares, dishes, candleholders and furniture. The furniture is a bit expensive, but the prices reflect the very high quality. There are also a lot of reasonably priced items for smaller things, under $10.Parking is metered on Sepulveda or down one block on a side street for free ( check the parking signs). The upstairs is currently closed on this visit, but previously, the upstairs attic was jammed packed with tons of treasures. Hopefully in the future the upstairs will reopen.Masks required at this time.

Amazing variety. The prices are astronomical! That Disney story book was $15, the lamps are all in the hundreds. The name makes this resale store misleading. Its not for low income folks. Its NOT a thrift store. It is more like a prop store for those in the film industry or like bougie home decor? Idk who has that budget for these items.

The best antique shop i have ever been to. They have a second floor private show room. Oh my god. Heaven for anyone who appreciates antiques.

Pretentious vibe, feels overpriced for what is there. The website is not well updated and the charity site also is not well updated. Hard to find information about the charity in general, actually. Wouldnt recommend.

Will not be back due to being overpriced / inflexible. Good selection but managed poorly. The owner does not allow the store employees to set prices on non-consignment items that the store owns outright, therefore if you are interested in something, you must wait around a long time for the owner to get around to talking with you. She gave me her price then walked away. Did not even wait for my reply. Unrealistic prices. Not open to negotiation. A couple employees are rude. You basically have a bunch of elderly people wanting top dollar for their dirty old, broken items. Just go to the Orange Circle instead. The shops are run much more efficiently.

The owner of the store is so nice! I didn’t feel I was being pushed into making a purchase, which I really liked. The store has so many nice things I wish I could put it all in my home. I highly recommend this store!!

18 months ago I made the move from London, England to Los Angeles. I packed up my home in the UK to start a new life in California. After finding a great apartment it was down to the somewhat intimidating but exciting exercise to furnish my new home. I have always enjoyed treasure hunting, restoration and breathing new life into something somebody else no longer cares for. So I set about scouring all the charity stores in LA.I stumbled on Children Charities Resale Store purely by accident. An Aladdins Cave run by 3 terrific gentlemen, all of whom have a good eye for quality and craftsmanship.Over the past year I made monthly, if not weekly trips to see what I missed the previous visit, and what new things had turned up.Displayed over 2 enormous floors, you can find enough wonderful things to furnish a palace. I told the gentlemen if they were going to tempt me with more things they would need to start looking for a new apartment for me.Kass, Pedram and Errol have a real talent for display and you will find things laid out by country, genre, and period with interesting mixes of all of the above. Everything is fairly priced. As I am sure you have concluded I have successfully and satisfactoraliy furnished my new LA home with everything from light fixtures, carpets, furniture, books and object dart.I have very little space left but can not resist making regular trips to visit my friends at Children Charities to see what recent treasures they have found. If you love treasure hunting like I do Children Charities is a must! ENJOY.

They do not donate to charity I went a while back and I tried talking to the owner Im assuming he was real short with me and followed me around I guess it was closing time but I tried to talk n be friendly so I asked what charities do they donate to? And Ll of a sudden he didnt understand what I was saying . They do NOT donate to charities I think they are the charity because he said 100% of their inventory is donated to them he doesnt buy antiques well dang must be nice to have 100 percent profit off off false advertisement. I almost donated to them. That should be illegal hes probably getting it from families that are really old or are grieving a loss.

Update: Employee Pedram self-reviewed this business after I posted my review. This unethical behavior convinces me my instincts were correct when I made a hasty retreat.Packed to the rafters with discarded furniture, mostly 70s & 80s reproduction “antiques” and all of Grandma’s collectible chachkis. Read: Llardo & Waterford. Might have found something if I dug, but I was literally looked up & down when I came in, & then followed around the store the entire time I shopped. I felt distinctly unwelcome, so I left. It shouldn’t be this hard to give s/o money. 🙃
