I went to a couple of places before this one and Modern Bride was the best place! Everyone was really nice and not pushy, made me feel super comfortable to ask any questions and try on as many dresses as I wanted. The girl was very respectful when advising any changes or add ons to the dress. I honestly loved their service and their prices were fair. ALSO, their tailor was amazing!!! He took my dress from a size 8 to a size 1 and I looked amazing!

I’m out of state for the military but my family lives in CA. When I was visiting them, I decided to stop by and check them out. I went in and was immediately not given the best customer service. Fast forward, the pandemic happened and I asked about a refund. Instead of politely saying “unfortunately we can’t offer refunds” Johnnie told me to use common sense and continued to be EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional. I’m extremely glad I didn’t finish paying for the dress, they can keep that as well as the down payment.Maybe it will help him fix his attitude.

Beautiful bridal boutique. First impression was that it was small. Johnnie and Sylvia greeted my entourage and myself right away. Sylvia made me feel like I was the only person important to her while she was consulting with me. After trying on 5 gowns and critiquing small details on each one, Sylvia found the most perfect gown for me. Everything I was looking for in the other dresses. Where do I even begin. Weeks ago I went to look for a dress. I found one dress here that I thought it was the best one for me. So I thought about it and went back to finally purchase a dress. But before I said yes! I decided to try it on again and other dresses. To my surprise, I found another dress that I just absolutely fell in love with it once I had it on. After trying others, I was not able to get my mind off the other one. So I made my decision and said yes to the dress I tried on once! The staff was very supportive and friendly. The price was perfect and under the budget I had in mind! It was a great experience! I will definitely recommend others to check this place out!

THE BEST. I could not have asked for a better experience. In a time when other brides were not able to get their dresses, Johnnie was so easy to get a hold of and I had my dress. I was able to order a dress that was a new style and was beyond pleased. If Johnnie carries the designer, he will order the dress you want even if he doesnt have it in store. I am so pleased with my dress and going with Modern Bride.

I booked an appointment on their website and added dresses on my wishlist. Upon arrival, I told the man that I had an appointment and his response was, “Well, Mondays are casual so anyone can just walk in.” Off the bat, that felt unprofessional. I went on to show him my wishlist and looked at their availabilities in stock. Granted, some of my dresses were not going to make the timeline that I am in but he went on and on about the color ivories and pulling out dresses that did not have any similar colors or silhouette from what I wanted. He started talking in technical terms that I didn’t understand and actually accused me of not willing to cooperate with his suggestions when I gave off no such vibes. He also referred to himself as the “bridal expert” when none of his suggestions were flattering at all. In the end, I was turned off by his “I-know-it-all” demeanor and despite having an appointment, I did not even try on a dress. The worst part is that when my family asked him a question, he completely disregarded the question and accused me of not wanting to work with him when I was barely in the store for 2 minutes. I ended up buying a dress the next block over at Saint Alexis Bridal who were so much more accommodating.

Planning a wedding in 3 months is hard enough, my fiance was struggling to find a Wedding dress close to her size and the look she wanted in San Diego, we took a drive to Modern Bride OMG Johnny and his staff had many dresses for her to try on they took care of us no pressure and she found the perfect dress, they could even order a new dress and get it to us in a week. We just got the dress and its so beautiful. I highly recommend Johnny and his staff @ Modern Bride well worth the drive.and so many shops near by to look at flowers, accessories, centerpieces, best prices too go to Modern Bride they will make sure you get the dress you want!!!

I showed their team pictures of dresses I liked online, they helped me find a dress that would look the best with my size and body type, which ended up being completely different to the pictures I brought in. To make sure that I was completely happy with the dress, and because it was my very first time looking at dresses, Johnnie insisted that I go and try on different dresses at different shops. I spent the day in and out of other shops and I could not find a better quality dress, for a better price, or a more helpful staff. I ended up coming back to the shop to buy my dress and veil. This is the only wedding dress store worth check out in the fashion district. All the other dress stores dont have as many gorgeous wedding dresses.Johnnie is so helpful and he really cares about you finding your dream dress. His staff are amazing. So professional and helpful with trying on the dresses. I really felt like I had a Beverly Hills/ bridal boutique experience. I had several dresses lined up and my own dressing room and huge mirrors in front and behind me.When I went to other places in the area, I didnt get nearly the same customer service. I waiting in a long line, was not able to see myself in wall length mirrors .....In Modern Bride, I really felt like I had the attention I needed to feel 110% about my purchase.The quality of the dresses in the store are top of the line.At other stores in the area, the dresses were beautiful but the lace, lining and stitching were just not wedding material. I got an Italian made dress for a decent price. My dress has intricate stitching, lining and a design that fits my body. Im so happy with my purchase.

I found my dream dress from Modern Bride for my summer wedding!. Johnny, the owner is a pleasure to work with, he works with you to help you get the dress you want at price you can afford. This store saved my wedding day. I was there last year just days before my wedding to buy my wedding dress. It was an emergency since the dress I had made turned out really bad. I fell in love with a lace gown from Italy and the owner Johnnie gave me such a great deal. I never thought I would find a gown that I could only dream of, get a great deal on it and it was only 2 days before my wedding day. I was on the verge of tears. I have to hand it to this professionalism and caring facility for earning my trust and money, when most other bridal stores didnt want to take the challenge of finding me a couture wedding gown in my short time frame. I had 40 days till my wedding and Johnnie took the time to search within 6 major brands until he found me what I deserve and still hooked me up with a great package price. Even though it was a bridesmaid dress I had bought elsewhere, they were so kind and steamed it for me!While waiting, I looked around at their wedding dresses. Do not call if you want your bridal team there, it’s saving you a whole lot of time! I called because I wanted my mom, sister, soon to be mother-in-law and soon to be sister-in-law and my maid of honor to be there because those are the most important women of this wedding. Anyway, called and the owner himself was soooooo rude! Telling me I don’t need that many opinions, I don’t need to be shopping for a wedding dress if I have that many important people and that I’m ridiculous, while still being polite! And let me tell you, for the location, prices are not the best! Save your time. Don’t waste it here!

This store only focuses on doing the best possibilities for brides at lowest possible prices and yet great costumer service. Its mostly walk in i believe and thsts to keep costs lower so they can offer better package prices .I saw a dress at a boutique outside of downtown which was over $3000 and i got it under 2000 here .Plus they made me a beautiful veil to go with itThank you modern bride and the owner for helping me all the way to the end 😘😍😘😍

Horrible customer service! The girls that work there are ok, but The owner is VERY rude. We tried to purchase a dress off the floor that was dirty and missing some of the embellishments and he was so rude about it when we asked if he could give us any discount to have it cleaned and fixed and he told us to go buy our dress somewhere else! He kept telling us about how lucky we were to buy our dress from him and stated and I quote “ I don’t need your business I already have other customers”. He also said that to him this is just a business and he only cares about he profit. Like I said SUPER RUDE!! It was the worst experience ever for wedding dress shopping. Only go there if you want something to ruin your mood and make you feel horrible when buying your wedding dress. SUCH A SHAME for someone like that to own a WEDDING DRESS SHOP.

If you are ever planning to get married in a quality but affordable dress, definitely come here! Modern Bride carries designer names like David Tutera for mon cheri and Sophia Tolli. Silvia was so kind and patient when helping me try on dresses; she has years of experience and you can tell she loves what she does! I had an idea of what I wanted when I entered the store, but left ecstatic with the new dress she chose for me. She knows how to compliment your body type and age. Johnnie (the owner) will work with you on payment plans and is super flexible. He was able to answer all my questions over the phone and made sure my dress would arrive on time. Please come prepared at least 6-7 months before your wedding date to choose your dress. I came 3 months before my wedding and he was still able to meet me needs- how amazing is that?! They also carry other wedding amenities like head pieces, veils, flower baskets, ceremony coins, and crowns. Thank you Modern Bride for finding the perfect dress for me! They have a good selection of dresses at more affordable prices, the vendors are very friendly. It is necessary to make an appointment on Saturdays and Sundays, from Monday to Friday they can go by without an appointment.

Needs more privacy. They should take time to offer water at leats from an ice chest. Dollar Tree has some. And the lady who smiled the most, let her have it by force After all, thousands of dollars are what they charge for dresses.
