This record store is pretty unique. Its located in Silverlake, Los Angeles. Kinda around the corner from Dodger Stadium.Great shop back in the day when you could walk into a record store and hang out and browse. It deffintly has a rock museum vibe.I would reccomend checking out this store / website if your looking for hard too find vinyl and posters.Ive sold some media to Wayne years ago and he couldnt have been more honest and professional.I havent been there in a few years, but this is one store to go to, to find some hard to find stuff. One reason is LA is full of record executives and old school collectors that eventually sell off their collections.Anyway thought I would stop by and leave a good review, this used record store hopefully lives on and reopens brick and mortar soon!!!!
Sad to see this store close, but theres too much easy money in insanely overpriced collectibles for them to bother with retail anymore. Thanks for all the fun over the years...Ill miss you.
The staff is extremely knowledgeable and have one of the best concert poster inventory in the business. Not only that, but their prices are fair making them a true asset to the poster collecting community.
I have been to this location a few times over the years and have fond memories. ive purchased a few records there and also some CDs. i went one year for record store day and they were really busy. the parking lot is pretty small but ive never really seen it get too packed. the area its located in is nice to go for a walk around after looking around at their inventory.
Fast shipping 🇺🇲 to Italy...🇮🇹
Wayne was very knowledgeable and fair
I love supporting this place and I love that its still here! I still remember when they used to be across the street. Great prices and great customer service. If youre looking for something rare this is the place to go!
Friendly staff, decent selection. Advice to the owner: Get a turntable for the customers to use, its a record store. (That cost you a star.)
Wow! This place is great. Great mix of records definitely worth checking. Workers are so nice and helpful!
My favorite part about them is their daily sale deal! I forgot the exact details, but it was somewhere along the lines of getting a dollar off each used record if you buy three or something like that.
The number 1 place for music and movies. I go to CA at least once a month and always make a trip for some movies. The selection is out of this world and there are always deals! I recommend following them on social media to get all the updates on concerts and giveaways and sales. Love this place.
Vinyl is too expensive
My favorite Record store in Los Angeles. Always a pleasant experience, and always at least an hours time spent. The staffs are both contribute to this particular shops appeal.
Excellent store. They have a great selection of used/new stuff on cd and vinyl, from rock to jazz, world, rap etc...the kind of store you go to find treasures. Good prices and friendly people. You can get new releases for 5$ or less.
Prices are decent in general. Some genres are definitely more stocked than others - makes me wonder what kind of demographic the store wants to cater to. For example, the Latin and Hip Hop sections are very small. A record store this size and that has been around for so long should have a wider selection.
Best prices on used CDs hands down, though their vinyls not badly priced either. Friendly staff. Great selection.
Rockaway Records, in my mind, is the best record/cd store in North America.
Lots to see. Great place for used media. They also have a lot of collectables in store and on-line. I just wish they kept later hours. I used to visit after work, now i can only visit on Saturdays.
Very nice store with some great records, all meticulously organized. Will definitely revisit.
L-O-V-E this place! Went here to drop of some of my record collection:(. The store itself is a throwback to the old school record stores where you browse and hang out, and end up buying more than you had planned.
Good place to find used CDs. Sometimes their introverted customers are sort of rude when you want to look for something while digging thru their pile.
Always make it a point to stop by whenever Im in town. Always a satisfied customer.
Very cool, probably 98% rock. Everything else is contained in about 4 crates. Still very cool store
Awesome place for finding vintage, hard to get classics and collectibles. But thats not all, they also have more current offerings with all the expected paraphenalia. And the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. What more could you want?
My favorite place to look for music and movies. Friendly workers and great prices. Ive been coming here for years and I will continue.
This is definitely one of Silver Lakes finest collection of classics and hits from the earlier decades.
Great place been coming since 1980. Gary is cool and andy is great..always great stuff
Ive been a customer here for literally decades. Its probably the best remaining record store in SoCal. Highly recommended!
Always a good one good music great feals
This place was fantastic! Huge selection of vinyl, CDs, and DVDs in all sorts of genres that are all organized, spaced out very well, and arent outrageously expensive.
The place has always been awesome. Miss the old crew, with Marty and Annie.Way to many hipsters, but then again, its Silverlake.
Not only do they have probably the best selection Ive ever seen a rock vinyls, but the employees were some of the most helpful Ive ever experienced in the music business. Very knowledgeable very helpful very friendly and Im glad to point you in the right direction if they cant help you
Always a pleasure browsing and purchasing here. Great selection and collection of vinyl, CDs, merch- you name it. Love this place
Love this cozy yet very well stocked place
Rockaway Records is pretty awesome. They have a ton of vinyl and some pretty amazing memorabilia. Its one part record store, one part museum. A very solid place to shop on that side of town.
Great record shop with a good selection of second hand vinyl.
Love this spot! Excellent staff!
Best prices. Coolest staff.
Great place to peruse a plethora of used gems at unusually fair prices. I highly recommend spending some time & money there.
Great place to pick up some music!
Great vinyl selection. Expert staff. Easy parking. Great memorabilia.
Good selection of used CDs at low prices.
Great used record movie cd store. You can find some gems here
Great selection. The used vinyl is always in great condition.
Cool store i found a couple of rare vinyls but not much of a selection
CD selection has shrunk due to massive expansion of hipster records. Still the best place I know of for good prices on used music though.
Old school real cool. Must visit
Whenever Im in the area I go to Rockaway. Simply the best.
Great selection of all levels of media!
Good record store with a huge Beatles, and Elvis section. They have music memorabilia, CDs, and a huge selection of vinyl
The best high end Beatles records and Memorabilia second to none
A lot of the Beatles stuff and rare vinyls. Poor modern rock selection. No punk or hardcore records.
Learned a lot about 45s LPs especially that the ones that come from the jukebox get pretty thrashed not really worth much after words
Rockaway is simply the best record store when it comes to collectible grade records - you will rarely find any LPs here less than VG+/VG+ and if you do, its because it is an item that bears having in lesser condition for its rarity. The prices are on point, for what the item is, AND the condition it is in.They are also the best store to sell your items to, as they give the highest payout of ANY of the LA area stores. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and Dave or Gary are a fountain of knowledge, great guys, and they are always happy to see return customers. As a bonus, super cheap CD, DVDs and Blu-rays - if youre into those things! There is always a wealth of collectible LPs and rock memorabilia around to look at, and when industry people sell off their collections, this is where they seem to go to do it.
The granddaddy of record vinyl stores (and other mediums to hear music) in Los Angeles. I love this store for many reasons. First of all the staff here is fantastic. The other great thing about this store is one never knows what they will find here. Very strong with respect to British invasion original albums as well as vintage mono editions of Rolling Stones recordings. Theyre famous for their Beatle vinyl and collectables. Almost endless amount of Beatle vinyl from all over the world. The other categories that are strong are The Beach Boys (including collectables), and a good selection of Bowie/glam era artists. They also have an impressive selection of experimental/electronic music from the 1960s. Superb store!
Great independent record store.
Love it, cheap cds, cheap prize for it and plus theyre not scratched
Great place for music and movies at a great price.
Wonderful place. Well curated.
Best record store Ive ever been to
Third time in CA and yes, this is the biggest record store that youll ever find, I can spend hours digging here, all the staff is friendly, from new stuff on vinyl to second hand records and cassettes, dvds of all kind, posters and music gear in general, hope to come back some time soon.
Parking lot is a plus. Good for collectors, not great on budget buyers.
Great selections good service
Great place !
Didnt find much...
Great place for rare stuff
I love the store
I loooove this place, nearly everything is a steal!
More than shopping, an experience.
