We left the Natural History Museum, which wasnt quite right for my very hands on son and walked over to the CSC, my son was sleep before we hit the front door. This place is massive and I cant believe its free to get in. Because I was exploring for the both of us, I went to as much as I could. Loved this museum. Even the gift shop was affordable, which seems to never be the case. This was perfect for a kid who needs to touch and get up close to learn. I will come back the first chance I get
This place is totally worth stopping for. Parking was 15$ and the admission was 20$. My ticket included the Brick exhibit. The place is packed with exhibits, information, history. There is a beautiful aquarium full of amazing different species of fish. You get to walk around the machinery that creates the tide pool. There is small tanks to pet the sea anemone and starfish. Every room has different ecosystems to explore. The best exhibit on display is the shuttle which is an amazing part of US history.
I have been going here since I was a child. I really like it here and the Imax movies are all great. When we went this time, there were a good amount of exhibits closed. But there was enough open to keep us busy. The dog exhibit moved and is now free. The Endeavor is also free. The Lego exhibit is the only costly exhibit and its almost 20$ a person. Prices are pretty high now than before but they need to make their money too. I went on a Monday and parking was easy in and out but two weeks ago on a Saturday it took an 1 hour and a half to get out partly because their machines were broken. (We went to natural history museum and had to park at science center lot because natural history parking was full). Parking is automated which on that Saturday was a bad idea, but any other day it should have been fine. Parking was $15.My suggestion park on bottom level as close to the exit, because everyone tries to get out through the top exit.j
The kids loved it here. So much hands on learning. I enjoyed it too! Especially enjoyed the touch tank of starfish and the space shuttle Endeavor. The LEGO exhibit was neat but not the kind I like. It was mostly recreations of existing art using plain brick, no unusual parts usage. Impressive but not very creative in my opinion.
Great value for the price of admission. Would highly recommend one of the 3D IMAX movies, watched Born to be wild, great 3D all throughout the movie, very kid friendly and educational. Purchase of a movie ticket also grants admission to the science center. So much to check out for the cheap ticket costs, if you have people visiting LA would definitely recommend stopping by, the Rose Garden right behind, the Natural History Museum is next door, and more. 👍🏻
It was pretty fun. Took a child to visit and see the shuttle. Some exhibits closed but everything was pretty fun. Because of covid, we did both interact with much, but it was still worth it. We especially enjoyed seeing the aquarium section and of course seeing Endeavor. Great place to take the kiddos and learn about space.
Beautiful learning experience. Glad to have the family time. Great exposition for ages.Free entry (arrive early). But if you wanna do some special events you will have some price attached.Like the Art of the Brick and IMAX.Fun stuff to see like, aquatic, desert, so much natural and scientific learning, space exploration, etc.Parking fees was $12.Was definitely worth the visit.
Visited the IMAX theater and watched, Under the Sea. Im amazed how 3D technology has come a long way from those red & blue gelled paper glasses to holographic 3D shades and out of this world under water photography. The music was fun and kept perfectly with the film. Informative on our current and future ecosystems. After IMAX experience, we explored other exhibits here. I love to learn more about these exciting educational rooms, some with real live animals from land and ocean, even the creepy insects have a place to be awed at in amazement! Found my way to the space shuttle, the Explorer. So much to see, Ill definitely be back.
Did anyone say - Free? This place is a great place for family or anyone who enjoys science and Space. They have the Shuttle Endeavor and all for free admission. Its located in a peaceful relaxing USC Coliseum park that also has a beautiful rose garden park. You can spent the whole day here and just relax . Parking is for 15 dollars all day before 3 pm.
A wonderful visit for kids and adults alike. Truly enjoyed the diversity of what they had to offer and while many exhibits were down for reconstruction or repair, never felt lacking.
This is such a fun and educational way to spend the day. We started off with the Lego exhibit that was amazing! I never would have thought to build anything like that with Legos. There was a section that talked about viruses and how we can help slow the spread of covid. My kids especially loved seeing the different ecosystems. We will definitely be back soon.
If you are in to science, this is a wonderful place to visit. Lots of things to see and do for children and adults. They always seem to have some kind of special exhibit going on as well. These do cost extra, but are very fun. I recommend highly. This time it was a lego exhibit!
I enjoyed this place not just for seeing the space shuttle, which was awe inspiring. They had a dynamite Lego exhibit. I thought it was amazing that they could duplicate works of art or organic shapes that seemed so real. It must have taken a lot of time and patience to put together. There was something wonderful and maybe a little sad about the space shuttle. It had so much promise that did not come to fruition.i remember seeing the shuttle on tv, new, crisp, clean, and very cool. When you see the space shuttle endeavor, you can tell this was a vessel that was used. It had been in space and back. There was a strange kind of honesty, respectability about it. They are very hospitable at the science center. They let you sit undisturbed, so you can really look at something. I sat and looked at the space shuttle, and marveled at it. This i really appreciated. Visit this place you wont be disappointed. There is a lot to see. Have fun!
Awesome experience. The price was great for what was offered. My daughter and I had a blast. There was so much to see and so much to do. We will definitely be back. I highly recommend stopping in and visiting.
I love going to this place. Went on a field trip the first time and then my dad took the family. Every time we come down to L.A we try going. And now we get to bring the kiddos. Couldnt really take pictures but they did have a lot of different things from when I came the last time.
Sunday was not so busy during 12-2pm! My family and I had to reserve tickets online though, which is completely confusing because the museum mentioned it was “free”. It was a 3 dollar fee for each person but I believe if you go in person it’ll be free. Keep in mind it’s not always guaranteed to go in though! Endeavor was free. The only closed exhibits were the discovery room and an indoor playground for children. Lots of hands on activities for children!! Parking was not difficult at all, only 15 dollars and we parked around A7! It was not difficult at all to exit. Prices were worth it :) (Rose garden was open too)
Expansive campus of interesting exhibits indoor and out. The pandemic has reduced some of the activities, and others had fallen into disrepair. Regardless, this is a great way to spend a day with the children!
Had such a great time with my family. My daughter loved the Art of the brick area along with the aquarium. Would like to come back because we were not able to see everything. The longest line was for the aquarium and touch tanks. Regardless, we had a great time and I felt the employees did a good job with the line management.
Fantastic place to spend a day with young kids. There are a lot of things to see and do. Really enjoyed the space technology section and the icing on the cake was the great space shuttle Endeavor!Highly recommend buying tickets for the Hubble 3D IMAX movie, it is amazing and it off this whole! The Body works part was the center is also great, it did not seem very popular but I liked the huge human body simulation. I thought it was great way to teach kids about human anatomy.Did not try the food in the cafeteria, recommend getting food from home since the cafeteria seemed pricy.
We had a great time here! I didnt know there was so much to see. We originally came here to see the shuttle Endeavor but we had so much fun looking through all of the exhibits and the aquarium. Such a great place to spend the day with the family. There are so many things nearby to see as well, such as the coliseum and the rose gardens.
1 20 2020 California science museum. Great weekend Iheart forum Coldplay palladium.
About noon time. Not so crowded, parking was easy, pay 15$$ for parking. I enjoyed Lego exhibit(not free admission)with family. Kids and family friendly place.Wear mask mendetory. Social distancing.
I only have one day off with my husband and kids and when we do go out we try to figure something out even if its a Monday. The only thing fun on a Monday was going to a museum and we chose to go to the California Science Center. Last that we have been here was both back in middle school and it was our childrens first time in here so it was all interesting and fun all over again we had a great time and we expected it to be small but it wasnt. We spent the whole day there from 12 to closing time and we had a blast there are multiple museums around this area so Im pretty sure theres more fun nearby. All in all it was a great day spent with my family and we only spent 15 bucks on parking it was free to go in.
The first time i ever went..It was a Great experience.A lot to explore and learn.
One of my favorite places in So Cal! Fun AND educational for all ages. Must see.
Amazing! So much to see! Really informative and eye opening. Great store too.
I love this museum so much! This is truly a place for everyone no matter how old or young there is something for everyone to do and see. Every time I go there I love seeing the adults play with the interactive learning stations and hands on areas right along with the kids. This is a perfect place for a family trip or a date with your partner. The L.A. rose garden is also right in their backyard and its free to walk around in. They have elevators and wheelchair ramps which come in handy for taking strollers. I went 2 days ago with my daughter and we took her stroller and it was very easy to get around (even in the rose garden) theres an aquarium there and also a walk through tunnel with baby sharks and HUGE fish. I loved the touch tank where I was able to touch star fish and a sea anemone. I was surprised to see how much stuff is open right now and there was alot of hands on learning areas. And also many handwashing stations. I was so happy to see things seem very normal there and it was such a blessing to go and spend the day with my family there. This is one of the best museums in LA county.
A great place where Kids can learn about science and nature though exciting visual and interactive displays. Highly recommend taking your children here for a fun day of learning and play.
I cant believe this is free, I wish all states had centers like this. Amazing place for hands on experiences, cool exhibits, and fun areas of science for kids to explore
Great experience. This is a nice place to spend a day with your kids, family or friends. You can learn a lot about the space and e joy of fun rides and a 3D movie.
Lots of cool stuff to do and see. General admission is free, other exhibits cost very in range. Lego exhibit is currently there, but is over rated and over priced for the disappointing size.
So much to see and so much to learn! Worth the trip and the kids had fun here.
WOW You get a lot for $3. Took our 3 year old and he had a blast. Theirs a lot to see, a bit overwhelming lol loved the aquarium area and touching the starfish. They have some food vendors outside which is nice! Selling hot food off a grill, fruit cups and toys. We will be back to check out the Lego area :)
Place was over all amazing. Cant explain in words. I dont ever capture photos, but this was an exception. These are huge and you cant grasp the full scale through image. Somewhere you have to visit if youre a big fan of space/aeronautics like me.
Great place to visit. Exhibits are interactive, the Endeavor is amazing, and the Rose Garden is beautiful. There are waffle cones made onsite, the smell will lure you in. Great snack break.
Really nice place to see a lot of science things
Fun science museum with lots to see and experience! We especially enjoyed the VR and space shuttle experience (paid). We visited in June 2021 and reserved tickets in advance for the timed entry. Admissions free but you pay $3 service fee per ticket.
Fun, knowledge and interesting facts are available under this roof. This place is suitable for all ages. We are lucky to have the Art of the Brick as a special exhibition. Its a lot of art work in lego pieces! Just FYI, 3 hours wasnt enough to go through the entire center so plan accordingly if you want to go through every section.
Lots of fun! Including at imax movie, we spent 4 hours here. The exhibits are really cool, the gift shop stuff isnt that badly priced (compared to universal studios). The Endeavor exhibit is amazing. Also the taco vendors outside are AMAZING! save money (dont eat inside, so pricey)
🧚♀️Family outing to spring break..🐾🎶🔻There are many different and beautiful blocks. 🧱✈There were many interesting and artistic works.⌛🛰There are many good sources of interest in the past,🚀🌝 present, and future space of the lunar probe.🛸✡🛶It will be a learning material for children who dream of the future.🌠
Super fun place to go and explore different aspects of Science. Its easily an all day adventure. Only complaint is that I personally feel its a little more pricey than its worth and their food options inside arent anything spectacular either.
My kids love this place. The IMAX was great, the hands on learning was the best and safety measures were all in place.
Weve always gone to the science center but this time we really enjoyed it. They updated the life exhibit finally and we had a great time overall.
I had a great time here. I definitely will come back once the building for the shuttle is built.
I have always loved the science center, now that I have kids, I love it even more. We visited the Lego Art exhibit and explored the rest of the ecosystem exhibits they had and we had so much fun. Great place to spend the day
Very cool museum! Great for all ages. Plenty to see for everyone, space, nature, science!
Ok me and my husband went here as part of our mini local vacation and so much fun! We saw the Under the Sea 3D at the IMAX across from the science center and it was amazing. The detail in the 3D mode wow!! I will definitely be going back to watch their other shows!! We also did two simulations. One was the endeavor ride and the other one I did was the hurricane one!! 80 mph winds!!! Omg!!! The ecosystem part of the science center was great too!! Seeing a flash flood in the desert! Omg I felt like a 10 year old! Yes that excited 😂
I went here on a first date and I absolutely loved it! There was about 6 or 7 parts of the ecosystem to go through and they were all their own exibits. There were even living creatures in some of them! There was a whole ocean ecosystem with a very large aquarium and it was an amazing experience. I also went to see an imax movie called under the sea and that wasnt too expensive and very enjoyable. There were some exhibits that were closed (especially one of my favorite ones) but Im not complaining, I still had a great experience!
Enjoyed going to the California Science Center, Los Angeles. Here, you can see models of space crafts, see a kelp forest, see creatures involved in decomposition and a great many other things. My favorite was seeing the Space Shuttle Endeavor.
Got to check out the The Art of the Brick exhibit at the Science Center, and it did not disappoint. 100 lego sculptures by Nathan Sawaya just blow your mind away. Worth the $20 per ticket.
A gem in LA! Very informative, and you get a lot for your money. Different experiences in different parts of the museum.; culminating with the display of the Endeavour shuttle. A good place to bring your kids as well.
I grew up visiting the Science Center with my mom and younger brother. Now I get to take my daughters here! Awesome and fun educational experience for all ages! p.s. Go see the NASA space shuttle Endeavor!!!
We had a wonderful time at the California Science Center! Even with the Discovery Rooms closed, there was still plenty to keep us occupied.
I took my two kids to see The Art of the Brick by Mr. Sawaya. Thank you Mr. Sawaya for your beautiful contribution to art we really enjoyed ourselves! It was artistically awesome! Everything is realistically built from millions of legos.😍 The things you dreamed of building as a kid but thought impossible has come true.
Great place to see so much! Today we went and saw the worlds largest Lego display! Definitely go! Nathan Sawaya is the man! An artist, a builder, a man with a vision. Very cool stuff. Recommended at the top!
You have to visit the Imax presentation. The 3D graphics were amazing 🎉.
We went to both the NHM and the science center in the same day and got to say we were more impressed with the NHM. The science center does have a better food court and snack area. The icream cookie sandwiches are really good. The overall layout and exhibits dont seem as well organized. The flow of the whole place is terrible, we kept having to back track and werent sure where everything was. We almost left without even seeing the shuttle and had to go back to find it. Even then it was hard to find and we got caught in several dead ends. The exhibits seem a little empty, not a lot of content there. Most of the interactive exhibits were closed. The sea area and touch pool was fun. Overall its ok, just feels really hap hazardly assembled and arranged. We went during the Lego art exhibit and that was a bit of a disappointment. First of all most of the science center is geared towards hands on kid friendly exhibits but then the LEGO exhibit is all hands off, so its not surprise its hard to keep the kids from touching the Lego art. Id pass on the Lego gallery.
Such an amazing place to visit. We saw the Art of the Brick Lego exhibit and the Space Shuttle Endeavour. Had to make reservations and pay online in advance. Parking was $10
Fun and amazing place to learn and interact with cool activities. The rose garden outside was an extra bonus.
My grandsons love ❤ this place ❤ 💕 💖 interesting 👍 🤔
Great to take the kids to learn the cool side of science 😎
Love, love, love it! My science nerd heart is so happy!!
The facility is great. Especially the LEGO exhibit. The parking is absolutely horrendous. We left the facility at 5 - when it closes - and got stuck in traffic in the parking garage. Weve been sitting for over an hour in the parking lot waiting for it to clear out - many families have young children and are also stuck in the parking lot. Theres been no movement in the cars in over 20 minutes. Theres no staff in the parking lot to assist or help clear out traffic. The gate is only letting one car out at a time even though parking is paid prior to going back to your car. This is absolutely terrible design. Weve spent more time in the parking lot than in the Science Center at this point. Again facility is great, parking sucks.
One of the favorites! Very educational exhibits, great gift store with many unique toys for children to choose from. Theres also a great cafeteria with seating available outdoors overlooking Exposition Rose Garden. Lots of activities for a child or adult. Beautiful walk through aquarium, and an open air smaller one to touch star fish. Loved the imitation of a storm in a mountains with water flood and thunder. All space related exhibits always give me goosebumps and excitement like a for a child who wants to be an astronaut!
Art of the Brick (Lego) was amazing. And have been waiting to see Endeavor for almost 10 years. What an incredible experience. CoVid protocols were in place so felt very safe.
Amazing 👏 loved art of the brick ❤ so much fun 🙃
I went back as an adult and it is actually really fun. There is a lot to learn and the interactions are so interesting. The weather exhibits are very interactive. My favorite is the water exhibits and the one where we are able to see the animals and touch them. The Endeavor exhibit is expanding to a bigger exhibit. It is such an amazing place to spend the day and learn.
Id forgotten how cool this place was. It has a lot of interactive activities that are fun for kids and adults. There a bunch of simulators, and movies you can pay for as well as the special exhibits, but its totally worth it considering the bulk of it is free. You can pay to have a more theme park like experience, but its great to get down there for all the free info and interactive activities available. I went with a friend and my 7 month old, so it was really for me, but the place is totally clean and accommodating enough to have spent 5 hrs there and the three of us went home happy and ready for a nap.
Great place to learn and kids will like it a lot. Parking is nearby and reasonable ($12 for the entire day). They were open even with COVID restrictions and maintained social distancing. Only negative was some exhibits had long lines so we didn’t get to see Kelp World. Seeing the real space shuttle was amazing and awesome. The Hubble IMAX movie was also awesome and worth seeing if you can.
Had a lot of fun with the kids though I do wish they open more up and listen to the words of Fauchi and Pres. Biden and end the mask mandates for those who are vaxinated.
Had a wonderful time at the Science Center. Loved seeing the Endeavor and the Lego art exhibit. Cant wait to go back
Admission is free, nice and many interesting things to see.
My children learn while having fun! Also my favorite part is the ecosystem section because of the aquarium. We enjoy coming back to see the new educational movies as well. 🐠
Everything about the subject science!!! The great search with pictures, videos and some are real. Very educational place!
Education is always a great experience for the old and young alike. Cant wait to go back.
Best as ever! Been here since kid. Some exhibit need attention but still good. Support by donating!
I recommend if you have children then you definitely have to take them here! Theres so much to do, its educational and fun!
The Endeavor alone is worthy of five stars! That being said, Ive always enjoyed the wealth of knowledge offered here. You can easily spend an entire day reading through and interacting with the exhibits and displays. I havent been here in ages, and I can see that some of the center is inaccessible due to construction. I hope they can finish soon because I definitely look forward to coming back again!
Interesting exhibits, timed entry works very well.Always impressed with displays. Took my 12yr old niece to see lego exhibit..amazing!!
Amazing range of exhibits free and available for purchase. Felt like a kid exploring
Getting tickets in advance cost $3 for service fee each ticket, showing up and getting on site at the booth is free. Just pay parking overall really fun for pretty much anyone. Security guard there needs a raise made the experience that much better
My man loves space and we had a great time seeing all of the exhibits at the science center and watching several IMAX movies. The Endeavor was the icing on the cake. We wish the fuel tank had been better presented...but it is understandably huge.
Lots of fun, tactile things for the kids to do. The space shuttle is amazing!
Lots to see and do for a very cheap entrance fee!! Very fun for kids, loved the aquarium areas!
Great place for the family to experience new things. Amazing planes that span from first flight up to the SR71. Don’t miss out on the Endeavor, it’s quite the display. Each room has something to help teach the kids while entertaining them at the same time. We had a blast and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Don’t miss out on the Nature Museum right next door, also worth it.Parking can run around $18.00. There is a parking garage that is shared between so the facilities.
All of us liked it from 2 year old to 63.Have a lot of interacting games must visit
Absolutely worth the money! Our kids had so much fun here for hours. We had to pull them away! ALSO the people selling mexican drinks and food outside was the BOMB. We had the watermelon juice and Horchata....heavenly to say the least! Lastly do NOT leave this area without going to Grand Central Market and trying all the goodies. Its my favorite place!
Loved it, brought back memories from a field trip in 7th grade, good times. The California hot dogs are the best. May have accidentally snuck into a private event held by Childrens Hospital, sorry we got really confused and we didnt see a place to get a map anywhere.
Great I love the entire place. My son loves it too. The space shuttle is so beautiful the IMAX movie is so high quality. The gift shop is to die for you might wanna buy just about everything in there. 🥰🙌🏽
Well curated! Great layout. Informative and helpful placards. Staff tried to be helpful but often did not know the answers to questions about exhibits. Seems they are there more for guidance through the center and monitoring. But otherwise an excellent experience.
Loved seeing the space and flight memorabilia, but it was sad that many of the hands on events werent available due to covid
I loved it! The Art of the Brick Lego exhibit was a lot of fun, but they also have some of the coolest permanent exhibitions. These include (just my favorites):The ACTUAL Endeavor space shuttle, which you can see and read about!A very enlightening exhibit on ecosystem, with interactive displays and a petting aquarium.A air and space section with satellites and actual space pods and space suits! And lots of other interesting interactive and non-interactive things to do.
Fun place for kids and adults . There’s a lot of green space for picnics.
It looks beautiful there me and my son really enjoyed it so different from when I took my older kids when they was younger must see so many changes very interesting and exciting especially the space shuttle
Love all the new exhibits
A great place to go on a weekend trip had a great time.
