An amazing range of quality teas, including some that are difficult to find elsewhere. Lovely atmosphere inside the shop.
Matcha latte was the best I ever had. Very smooth and not too sweet. There also was just the right amount of ice to keep everything cool. Would come back here again.
Great little mom and pop shop for teas, drinks, and ice cream. Price is a bit too pricy. Over $4 for an ice cream! People will still gobble it up, but think about it; over $4 for a cone? $3 would honestly be more appropriate in my humble opinion.
Really good souffle cakes, but i shouldnt have to wait another 10 min outside waiting in the order line when grubhub has said my order is ready for pick up 20 min ago. They should have an already ordered and pick up ready line, and delegate one of the 5 staff in there for that.
My favorite drink here is the matcha latte made with oat milk. The oat milk gives it a nutty base, enhancing the matcha flavor. The owners source their tea directly from Japan so its really high quality. Their soft serve is delicious and the smoothie is a great way to perk up on a hot day. None of their stuff is too sweet either, just the perfect subtle flavor!
Got the ceremonial matcha and iced matcha tea, both were delicious.
Well crafted authentic Green team icecream. A cup of their green tea will also freshen you up. Will visit again to try their green tea smoothie 😁
Smoothest matcha Ive ever tasted. The iced matcha latte was amazing, refreshing, and tasted like pure rolling hills bathed in sunshine, the kind of bright green vista that only exists in ideas of Scotland or that iconic computer wallpaper. Definitely worth navigating the congested, winding parking lot. Go here. Yes.
Hands down the best Matcha Green Tea ice cream in Little Tokyo. This small little cafe specializes in Matcha Green Tea, they serve all sorts of Matcha, from Latte to ice cream. My son and I will definitely stop by this place when we are in the area. He loves their Matcha ice cream. The only downside is during peak hours, the parking will be hard to find due to some other restaurants.
This quaint and cozy shop literally reminds me of the little traditional village shops in Japan! I’ve been to Japan 2 times and explored almost the entire country so when it comes to Japanese food and desserts I have really high expectations as I always compare it to the quality of the food there. I was definitely blown away by the quality if their matcha soft serve here. Right from the first bite you taste the perfect balance of the light sweet taste of the ice cream and the rich matcha flavor. I believe that they use quality matcha all the way from Fukuoka Japan and its absolutely incredible. A lot of ice cream places that have matcha flavors either use very cheap powder and you either barely taste the flavor or you just taste pure bitterness. However, Tea Master’s matcha have an astringent note that perfectly compliments the ice cream and pretty sure it is the type of matcha powder than you can drink by itself unlike the cheap bitter ones from other stores. Typically, high quality matcha does have a sweet aftertaste already without any added sweeteners.I also watched this guy whisking a bowl of hot matcha tea for other customers and you can tell by his finesse that he has down this for so long and is highly skilled. I would definitely come back here to try their drinks as I do love tea.I also love how their soft -serve matcha is fairly cheaper than most place despite the incredible quality.
A lovely small shop specializing in Japanese soft-serve with delicious matcha in the heart of Little Tokyo near downtown LA. Ordered a lovely matcha soft serve that was amazing with delicate creamy soft but not freezing cold soft-serve. Topped with matcha powder that gave it a distinctly Japanese green tea flavor but not overbearing. Just light delicate and fluffy soft-serve expected from Japanese cuisine.
After trying the matcha soft serve here, I no longer want to eat any other matcha soft serve. This is absolutely hands down the best matcha soft serve Ive ever had and now everywhere else tastes horrible. Its firmer and wastes more custard-y than other places, giving it a very rich creamy flavor. Its also topped with matcha powder so you get even more matcha taste. Everything about it is amazing, youre doing yourself a disservice if you dont try it.They also have free matcha tea samples that were very refreshing. The people here really care about their matcha! They get it straight from japan.
Great dessert and friendly service! I ordered the soft serve matcha and the iced green tea. The soft serve matcha looked quite small when I received it, but it was very deceiving. I couldnt finish it! Super delicious, it was a great balance of creamy and sweet. It wasnt too sweet and not at all bitter. The green tea was also very good and refreshing. I recommend this place especially if you like matcha!
I’m so stoked to have found this place!! Their matcha latte was super nutty and smooth, rich flavor. They make it with oat milk!! It brings out the umami flavor and it definitely complements the matcha flavor. The gentle man (I suppose the owner) made my latte wholeheartedly and I truly appreciated it..!!They have all these goodies like matcha packages and tea making sets and locally sourced baked goods! They also source donuts from the Ring and the baked donuts are made of tofu and rice flour. And guess what.... it was so fluffy, moist and spongey!! My husband loves donuts but hasn’t been able to eat donuts due to stomach pains. Now he has a go-to place to satire his donut cravings!! And matcha latte for me!!I appreciate their apprenticeship for matcha as you can see they care about the quality of their products and they support local business. Thank you for being a good business model :)$Tip: There’s a dollar fee for paying with cards. (Overall, prices are reasonable)
Overview:Came here late at night after a delicious meal of street tacos :P The shop is in the middle of a small plaza and so you wouldnt really notice it if you were just passing by, but definitely do not miss out on some of this match soft serve! Even after you walk in the place isnt considered a cute ice cream shop but where all the hard work is focused on is the sweet soft serve.Food:We all ordered a cup of the popular matcha soft serve and fell in love. Please note that if you are looking for a strong matcha blast to the taste buds then youre not going to find it here. This soft serves matcha flavor is more light and overall it is smoother than most matcha soft serves Ive had. I come here to enjoy a light dessert.
Really nice tea shop. Surprised they had sencha green tea and it was only $5!! Quick and nice service. Highly recommend
Really tasty matcha soft serve. I could go with an even denser matcha flavor, but it is wholly present. The soft serve itself is very creamy, and strikes that balance between light and dense that makes for good mouth feel satisfaction. The cold matcha tea was decent. Quite enjoyable, but I think wife and I are just forever spoiled by our green tea experiences in Kyoto.Service was incredibly friendly and informative, and I was walked through their sencha and matcha selection in detail to help me decide what I would like to drink on a daily basis. Ended up going home with two bags of sencha that Im very satisfied with!
Tried the matcha soft serve, it was creamy and had a soft texture. Enjoyed it, not a very strong flavour of matcha but a light and fluffy taste. The sifted matcha on top helps bring out a bit of matcha taste. Would recommend if you like matcha, drinks were also available but didnt have a chance to try.
The matcha soft serve has the perfect blend of creaminess with matcha flavor. You get a good amount and Im pleased every time I come here.Definitely a place to stop by when in the area.
This place is delicious! They have matcha donuts, matcha lattes, matcha tea, they also sell a matcha set and tea paraphernalia. The owners are super nice, and the vibe is very peaceful inside. I love this place so much. I bought a matcha canister recently, I’ll update the review once I’ve tried it but I’m sure it’s going to taste amazing and authentic.
Highly recommend! The shop owners are very polite, call you by your name and take great pride of their products. Small shop but absolutely love the zen ambiance it exudes. They offer a wide selection of authentic matcha products from high grade teas, to soft serve ice cream and various smoothies. Their products are true to its form, refreshing, with a slight earthy organic taste of pure blissful matcha. You can ensure their products are of great quality as they actually go to Japan, close the shop, to get their products directly sourced. Their matcha smoothie and matcha soft serve are my favorites!
The matcha latte, iced is EVERYTHING! Perfectly sweet, and rich matcha.Everything here is amazing. Definitely try the smoothie if you want something more earthy.Plus the staff is AMAZING too!
I finally made it!! I remember the previous store was closed over the weekends and this one finally isnt and I was able to get my matcha soft serve! There was a tiny line I came around 330pm on Saturday. Theres only 1 guys working probably the owner and he does everything! From cashier to making everything. Most people were ordering the soft serve and matcha latte. Even though there was a line he took his time, he was calm and polite. I was surprise since if I saw that kind of line I would be rushing my ass to get things done quickly. Give him props for being so self composed. The soft serve was good. I had Midori and this one and they both good. Not sure which one Ill go to more but glad to know theres two choices on each side of little Tokyo. Funny that I heard quite a bit of Cantonese people here while I was waiting.
Highly recommend. The teas I purchased are delicious! I will definitely be buying more. I LOVE my Cobalt Brown Betty teapot also!
Their matcha latte was unexpectedly amazing: non-dairy, mildly sweet, and the full flavor of the matcha shines through despite the add-ins.Also, Ive been hunting for a good gyokuro tea for months. Finally found it here. Now Ill have to return for the matcha set and powder I was balking at.
So great! This is my favorite place to study in the area. The drinks are great, a little pricey, but what can you expect from a little hipster coffee shop in the heart of Old Town Pasadena. The ambiance is nice, they have a lot of space, and its a great, quiet place to get work done, but not so quiet that its weird. They play good music, its peaceful, but not elevator music. Really want to try their food out sometime!
The best, most affordable, highest quality matcha you will ever taste! I came here with a friend after eating lunch at Daikokuya, and was blown away by their green tea soft serve. Probably my favorite from any green tea shop I’ve been to. Perfectly creamy and delicious, and good for sharing! I also tried their iced matcha latte, made with oat milk. I had never tried oat milk with matcha lattes before (I generally use unsweetened almond milk), and honestly can’t imagine my life without it, as it’s the best alternative to cow’s milk on the market. I usually like my drinks on the sweeter side, however theirs was perfect. No matcha latte from any other tea shop will compare...ever.
The prices are wrong on the website and when you show it to them they make up every excuse so they can overcharge you . I can go to Freebirds and get something Just as much but Ill get more food .
Nice little gem of a tea shop. Small but homely, yet lively, all at the same time. The cute Japanese couple owners run the shop well. Very friendly, welcoming and polite. The decorations are pleasing and their drinks and especially ice cream more so. The tea options are interesting, ranging from a snack to great green tea fitting for Japanese tea ceremonies.Definitely worth a visit, although visitors should plan ahead as parking can be limited.
Great coffees. Great bowls. Loved the Chipotle Chicken Bowl; a nice Korean twist with Mexican ingredients. Kind staff.
Great Euthopuan iced coffee with Oatmeal.Hip place along LA Cresenta . Wort the driving if youre looking for a flavorful coffee place. Will definitely come back
A good old cup of life and the avocado toast started my day in Pasadena. The pickled veggies on the toast took it to a whole new level. I got there fairly early on a Saturday morning and Im glad. The line was out the door when I left. I recommend for a quick non-pancake start to your day!
Very friendly service and matcha tea is good!
My friends has been praising this place for a year or more. It not only lives up the hype, it shatters expectations! The mouth feel of the ceremonial tea is wonderful. Theres quite a bit of wait, but well worth the wait. I dont believe they make anything ahead of time besides the cold steeped teas. Even the soft serve is made to order, perhaps because of that, I had zero brain freeze inhaling the soft creamy goodness! Even the matcha powder dusted on top of the soft serve is flavorful, not chalky or bitter only!!I will most definitely come back again!!
Worth every penny. Frothy, steamy, yummy. Phil really knows how to make his coffee. Great attention to detail - I really like the mint leaf on top. But...I tend to get my coffee and go. I just dont find the decor very appealing. Second rate furniture thats cramped in. But, the coffee, the coffee makes it all worthwhile!!!
Amazing service and even more amazing matcha latte. Everything there is made so meticulously and it shows.
Green Tea Master Matcha Cafe and Green Tea Shop Serve is amazing. Just get it. Its very very delicious. Perfect amount of sweetness to pair with the bitterness of the matcha powder. Amazing combo. I felt sad when I finished it because I need more!
Very cool spot. Unconventional setup making for a very relaxed and comfortable environment. Had to ask if I was in a dispensary just to make sure because it felt too much like home. Great quality flowers. Definitely recommend.
I dont like matcha-flavored things, but the soft serve they have here is fantastic. Not too sweet and a good portion size for $4.50. Limited seating available. Usually, I park on the street in the Arts District and just walk over.
Quaint little breakfast spot in Pasadena, the street parking isnt too difficult to find. The services is fast and efficient, food is delicious. Will definitely swing by again when Im in the area.
It has the best matcha ice cream
Very good teas here, I came here recently and got a simple matcha green tea and it was so yummy.
I love shaved ice! Ive only been here once and I cant wait to try some of their other flavors. Im sorry I dont remember the name of what I got but it was nice.
EARL GREY BINGSOO is so delicious! It doesnt even seem like I am eating snow. The snow is topped off with some sort of whipped cream mixed with earl grey flavors. The snow was light and fluffy. This one is the winner, yall.
Hidden gem! If you’re in the area it’s worth the trip. You need to try the ice cream. Perfectly creamy. Good customer service. It’s a cute tiny place (:
This is my favorite Tea Master Matcha Cafe and Green Tea Shop location! I think most of the Blue Bottles are consistent, but this one is most consistent. I always get either a latte or the New Orleans cold brew. Lattes have good espresso:milk ratio, and cold brews are flavored smoothly. This location is definitely one of the busiest Tea Master Matcha Cafe and Green Tea Shop Ive been to, but worth it to check out.
While portion size may not be a lot, it is by far the creamiest green tea ice cream in little Tokyo. It seems to be family run business and they do a good job. Indoor is relatively small so be prepared to not have seating.
No other place does matcha soft serve better.I used to come here more often when it was relatively unknown and by word of mouth, but they exploded in business recently. Great for the owners, but if you’re expecting to get some soft serve, get there fast after dinner time because they will sell out now.
Amazing place for your matcha green tea cravings. Fantastic customer service. Best matcha place in town. Highly recommended!
Hidden gem in the Honda Plaza of Little Tokyo! The soft serve comes in only one size and only one flavor (makes ordering that much easier). Great subtle matcha flavor, not artificial tasting at all, with a smooth and creamy texture. Safe to say this is the best matcha soft serve I have ever had in LA!Highly recommended if you are in the area.
You have to get the Matcha soft serve, it really is something special and the texture is just so fluffy and delicious. I will say its not the fastest place so if you are in a hurry this might not be your kind of shop, but if you are hanging out with friends or on a date in Little Tokyo suggest this place and be a hero.
The green tea ice cream 🍵 is the best ever here!! Would highly recommend stopping by
This is probably the best matcha Ive ever tried. I love the hole-in-the-wall feel and personal touches the owners have added throughout the very small storefront. Its been packed every time Ive come here but the line moves quickly and in any case it would be well worth the wait. The serving sizes are pretty generous and the ice cream is suuuuper creamy.
Only came here once late at night. We got their matcha ice cream scoop and it was delicious. They have some seating inside and cultural decorations to look at. Parking is cheap or free, I got in because I told him I was coming here for a quick scoop and leaving afterward.
Really nice tea shop
Best matcha green tea ice cream in Little Tokyo. But parking is $3 in the Honda plaza where its located. So what we do is eat lunch or dinner at Sushi Gen right across and safe some room for dessert here.
This place is quite small and not a place to really hang out with a big group. However, with about 5 full stars and over 600 reviews on Yelp, definitely a place to visit again and again.I tried the matcha smoothie, which was very delicious and not too sweet. They are also known for their ice cream, which I didnt get to try.The reason I am not giving 5 full stars is because I think its a bit overpriced, especially for the size of the ice cream that you are paying for.Other than that, its a delicious place for a day trip.
Always a favorite esp. among the college crowd. Its a small mom and pop shop so the wait times may be longer than lets say, McDonalds. However, its worth the experience. Their matcha is very strong and the tea is made in a traditional manner w/o additives like sugar. I had to get a vegan donut to go with it. Served and presented in a refined manner. The cafe was small but pleasant enough.
Patrick was a great help. Quality tea, great tasting ice-cream, extremely cute interior. Definitely a hidden gem.
I really love this place. Located in Little Tokyo. They let you park in the lot if you tell the guard. The matcha latte and soft serve are the best I have ever had. Too bad the soft serve is so tiny. I could easily eat 3. Everything here is cute and tiny. Hours are too limited.
One of the best places for green tea related products. He is the tea master, plus, the green tea does not have that grittiness that lower quality green tea has. They take pride in their green tea, so dont expect the fastest service.
Great place, very creative breakfast and lunch. Wonderful people run it. Score, nice surprise.
