I inherited my grandmothers 1950s Royal Quiet Deluxe typewriter. Though it was in decent shape, it needed some work (alignment, cleaning and a new platen). Ruben reconditioned the machine and it now looks and types beautifully! He shared photos/videos and sent updates throughout the process. Hes truly passionate about these old pieces. Nice guy, very knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

Ruben was able to take my thrift store Hermes 3000 and basically make it like new, including setting me up with a fancy (like new) leather top case. I would recommend him to anyone who is interested in restoring an old typewriter, but understand the process can be painstaking as the machines are old and parts can be hard to come by. Ruben is very upfront about timeline and cost as well as possible delays, but hes always delivered for me. This is my 4th machine with him and we are starting on a new machine right now.

Ruben is absolutely incredible! My dad bought me a 1930s Underwood Typewriter that was in pretty rough condition, and I brought it here to be completely restored. Ruben worked with me to get the best deals on any parts that needed to be replaced, and stayed in contact with me throughout the process. Ruben and his brother Danny are master typewriter mechanics and they have repaired and restored multiple machines for me. If youre lucky enough to have the opportunity, they can make your typewriter type like its brand new, and possibly better with their fine standards for tuning and precision. This Tower President typewriter from the 50s was given a complete overhaul, including a deep cleaning, replacement/upgraded draw-band, and new rubber for the platen roller. Its such a joy to type and with his expert cleaning and lubrication, the machine feels snappy and smooth. This is the third machine Ruben has repaired to such fine working condition for me. He is extremely meticulous and knowledgable about manual typewriters, and if you happen to be in the market to use one, or give one as a gift, Ruben is the best you can get to restore your typewriter.

A few years back Ruben restored my grandfathers WWII Royal KMM (which he somehow swiped from the army after the war, shhh!). Was not inexpensive but the results completely exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended.
