Worst place to rent from. Reserved a truck 4 days prior to needing it to move, the day of moving, they ran out of trucks. Already had schedule movers and was schedule to be out if state but they didnt care and couldnt get a truck for us. Went to Pendle and they saved the day and was able accommodate me at less price than Uhaul.Uhaul has worst customer service evertttr and didnt care at all. No guarantees at uhaul you will truck even if you reserve in advance. Dont use them!
If they’re open, they’re lovely. If they’re about to close or just closed, they are done for the day and apparently won’t go out of their way to help you. I was stuck sitting in their parking lot for two hours to get my truck when they could have very easily helped on their computer. Thanks for leaving me alone in the dark guys!

Rented a truck today for the first time at U-Haul. People was very friendly, check in & return was easy. Everything is as excepted (with price per mileage etc), very happy with this U-Haul!
Reserved a truck for 24 hrs. And later received a call that I the truck was only available for that afternoon. Be aware when you make plans to use the truck, it sounds like they only want to rent out the trucks for the rest of the day or have the trucks back by the opening of the following day. Plan to file a complaint, I will avoid doing business with this site in the future.
The only reason I’m giving this one star is because of the immaculate service Leon G gave! He was quick, personable and patient.Everyone else I experienced at this location is lazy and gives horrible customer service.
I dont normally post a complaint, but I ordered a hitch installation a month in advance of a planned move to ensure the parts were delivered on time. U-haul assured me that this delivery would arrive in time, however when I called to verify the installation the weekend before my move, they had still not ordered the part, nor had they notified me of the delay and they refused to reimburse the money I had payed for the delivery. The customer representative was kind, but I would suggest ordering months ahead since their service is extremely unreliable.

Don’t take your vehicle to this location for hitch installs. They didn’t take responsibility for the gash they put in my bumper that they removed to install the hitch. Maybe they have better quality employees at other locations.

Previous two online representative were unprofessional. They both were pushing me to get track back early, because they have another customer. Question.Why you are advertising daily price to customers?What does it mean?Representative can ask to know estimateor approximate return time but have not right to put customer under the pressure for returning time.

Truck was available when I booked it online. Went the next morning to pick it up and was greeted by a friendly worker right away. I did what was required on the app and was on my way in a very short amount of time with a nice clean truck. When I returned that evening, same thing. Quick process and friendly people. Great experience overall!

Absolutely horrible experience with waiting for a hitch install. Made an appointment for 10:30am and was told upon arrival that the car in front of us wasn’t finished yet but would take 30-45 mins tops. An hour later, nothing. Two hours later they move on to another car even though we were told we were next. Another couple hours go by before they even START working on our car at 2pm. It wasn’t until 4:15 until we had the hitch installed. About 5.5 HOURS after our initial appointment. We had to wait out in their lot ALL day in 85 degree weather for a simple install. Even after settling up we didn’t even get a simple apology for having to wait so long. What an absolute embarrassment.

Worst rental experience I’ve ever had. I rent trucks/vans routinely for my job. Never have I seen such a disorganized location and misanthropic staff. Employees were outright disdainful of customer presence and I even overheard one mocking a man who was struggling with English (as it was clearly his second language). I had just as terrible an experience the first time I rented from here but returned hoping to give a second chance. I won’t be returning and advise all to stay away.

I would give 0 stars if I could. Had an advanced reservation for a small pickup truck. Arrived 25m prior to our reservation to give us more time. The location had 1 person working who was unable to help everyone. This seemed odd on a Saturday. Finally 30m later someone waited on us only to tell us we had to do everything on our phone. When I told them that their website wasnt working and giving us errors (Plus theres not really good reception in this location), the newer worker told me he didnt believe me and then moved on to the next person in line. I finally was able to get the origional worker to help us after showing her my phone and the errors. We were asked to look over the car and upload photos of any different things we saw. When we did this, the site stopped working again. The worker blamed it on my phone. When I showed her it wasnt my phone, it was your site, she had me delete the differential we had to photograph & upload and we were finally able to leave, more than 45m after we arrived. It was a terrible experience and I would not recommend this to anyone.

I would absolutely not recommend this location to anyone, EVER and give negative stars if possible! The single staff member (manager of this location) working at this location was not helpful and very rude. We arrived to our appointment to pick up the UHaul 10 minutes earlier to ensure we could ask the appropriate questions for how to pick up and drive the UHaul since this was our first time driving one of the trucks. We paid for the truck online prior to our appointment and were then told we needed to complete the final check in process online. There was awful reception at this location and were receiving errors and rather than supporting us through the check-in process, the staff member kept telling us that we dont know how to work our phones, dont know anything, and should have been prepared (I agree, we should have been more prepared so we wouldnt have to deal with the jerk of a manager). The manager gave us short answers and was rudely hurrying us along to get us out the door so we ended up missing key details about the contract of the truck. We ended up having to look up how to use the truck on our own online to ensure we knew everything about how to drive the truck. The truck itself was fairly clean and driveable but the experience with the staff member at this UHaul location ruined our morning and added unnecessary stress to the start of our trip. I would highly recommend picking up or returning from a different UHaul location if you want to interact with kind, respectful, and helpful people.

The manager Kenneth is an absolutely great guy who is professional, kind, and focused on the needs of his customers. They didnt listen, care or help in any material way, the branch manager just repeated himself, repeated company policy and told me to find a friend to rent a truck for me. I spent hours researching a process that the CA DMV created to help people without physical copies of their current drivers license to rent vehicles for essential needs (e.g., moving). The DMV said they would provide electronic proof of my licensure. No one at the branch or main customer service seemed to care that I have a 17+ year history of renting from UHAUL consistently. The manager people would rather engage in petty bickering in the same amount of time it would likely take to get the problem solved. 8 or 9 times out of 10 you will likely get a well functioning truck or trailer but, if you have a special need or request, or maybe need help due to Covid-19 (and shutdown DMVs), for example, dont expect a solution from UHAUL.
We reserved online and the trucks were waiting for us, clean and ready to go. Thanks to Kenny and his staff for making it easy! We are lucky to have you here!

Been renting uhaul for 40yrs as a pro mover in every state of usa. i am a senior. i walk out to get in my 2 day pickup truck staff just jump in back of truck with a huge blower and they didnt wash truck and manager allowed this. i went straight to car wash after leaving .5 days it took to resolve. the same manager at atwater village threaten me 4 times that he was going to put me on uhaul alert to prevent me to ever renting a Uhaul, cause i reported him and his crew as the rudest and laziest and disrespect to senior citizen
Only two people working here now. I usually pick up trucks here because it’s so close to home. The online quick pick up option didn’t really work and I was redirected between the two people multiple times before she completely remade my order. Also said I could pick up online at 8am on Sundays but the store didn’t open till 9. Infuriating way to start a move.
Im not sure why there are bad reviews; everyone I dealt with at this location was knowledgeable and friendly and went out of their way to be helpful even when not necessary. I recommend them.
Reserved a truck and was told there were none available. This was some how our fault. The workers IQ was so low James Cameron couldnt bring the bar back. Luis on the other hand makes the other mentally disabled workers here seem like genius in stark comparison. Dont go here, let then die slowly. They deserve it :)

The woman at the front desk acknowledged me while having her eyes glued to her phone. She had a tone in her voice that made it seem like she hated her job. I was giving her my information when suddenly I received a call, I told the lady one second and she ignored me and continued to talk over me while I was on the phone. I wanted to tell this lady off because when I walked in she wouldn’t even look at me but she didn’t like when I got on my phone for thirty seconds
Check all the reviews, it does seem interesting actual customers give the same information; rude service, lost reservations, added charges on return. The five star reviews are all by Local Guides, many with no written review. Seems a little fishy.......

I had no issues reserving a truck 2 hours before the pickup. Nice staff. Overall, had good experience over the phone and in person at the store. Thank you!Edit (11:49pm): Eveything was going well until I loaded the truck with my stuff and was ready to hit the road... and this is what happened... cant start the truck; battery is dead... no lights were on inside the cabin nor they were in the back... didnt need any light as I was loading my stuff in the afternoon... called 800 number for a roadside assistance... was told that help should arrive in about 60 minutes... waited fot 90 minutes and nothing... got another call from Uhaul telling me that the Alpha Towing guy (who was supposed to show up after 60 minutes) got into an accident and he cant make it to my place... I hope and think he didnt; he just didnt bother himself to drive on a Saturday night. While Uhaul was trying to find another available dispatch, I drove with my car to a closest CVS to buy a lock, cause I knew the truck will be outside tonight. It was 10pm... Got another call saying that they found someone who should arrive within 60-90 minutes... 45 minutes passed and finally another towing company showed up... they did their job and told me to keep the engine running for at least 1 hour... it is freaking 11pm at night... wait for another hour in the truck?! Man... you gotta be kidding me... well, you gotta do what you gotta do. It is 12:10 am now... I am going home now... sleeping on the floor is better than in the truck...
I rent trucks once a month for my business. This is the second time I have been refused service at the Atwater location and decided I can no longer remain silent about the terrible customer service. Both times I was refused service by the customer serviece rep. Kionia. This time she refused to look up my online order, based on a bogus technicality. She claimed her training and policy would not allow her to. She repeated this phrase several times, Mam you are not hearing me, I can not help you. I walked 40 min. to the Brand Blvd. location, where the true professionals promptly helped me with my order. I filed a formal complaint against Atwater Uhaul, and was told the manager would contact me in 48 hrs. Its been a week with no call. Save yourself the headache and time. Avoid this location like the plague.

I arranged to get the free one month of storage with a one way move at this location. I received a reservation email with this facility and called and received an additional confirmation on the morning of my move. After arriving here, I was informed that they had no units available and that they had no reservation under my name. After calling the same number from the morning and speaking to the same representative I suddenly had no reservation in the system, and there was nothing available in the entire Los Angeles area. After several frustrating phone calls, they managed to find something in Pasadena, but I would have to wait until the next day since they were closing in ten minutes. I finally got a unit a third smaller than what I reserved and had to throw out some of my stuff to fit. There is a disconnect between their reservation system, call center, and the local franchises and they are willing to modify your reservation after the fact to cover their mistakes. Needless to say I will not be using U Haul for any of my future moves.
Went to get two propane tanks but never got them filled. Waited over twenty minutes only to be rudely told by the employees that they were two busy to help us and we would have to keep waiting. Save yourself the time and go to an exchange or literally anywhere else to get your propane tank filled. Understaffed and rude.
The manager @ 2617 FLETCHER DR., LOS ANGELES CA 90039 is a racist accusing me of my returned van had a strong fishy smell ask if his female confirm when she was never close to the van which she confirmed yes probably because he see me as ASIAN(SOME FROM THE SOUTH REALLY THINK ASIAN ONLY EAT FISH) I immediately disagreed as I never ate fish since was a toddler!!! I went to hospital 2x when I was young because of fishbone lodged in my throat! He also surcharges me $25 and insist that the VAN was dirty of minor dust for a one week of rental which I had only used once because I was just lazily and not in a hurry to move. Because this manager was DIRTY and corrupted to score unprovable charges, common sense should concur that I would not have dispute $25 from a $275.18 bill! Its not the money, its the principle of STRAIGHT SHOOTING HONESTY!!!BTW, HE HAD WANTED TO CHARGE FOR $75 FOR DETAILING WORK BUT HE BACKRED DOWN. HE HAD ALSO GROWLAT ME WITH HIS TEETH LIKE A DOG...I WAS SCARED BUTSHOOK AND AMAZED, REALLY!!!I hope this rant will help even just one future renter become aware of THESE DEVIOUS BUSSINESS PRACTICES OF UHAUL AND/OR THEIR STAFFS FOR BONUS CHEATING PRACTISES!!!

The UHaul representative in Los Angeles charged me for a 20-foot truck but rented a 15-foot truck to me without notifying me of the change. This is fraudulent. It necessitated a second trip to California to pick up items that would have fit in a 20-foot truck.
