Excellent quality food and great service. As of today proof of vacation is required. Arrive early, parking can be tight in the area. Well thought out menu, insightful staff, well spaced seating both indoor and out. It feels very romantic in the bustle of Silver Lake.
Everything is either spicy or extremely seasoned, which I personally absolutely do not like. Even my pasta was somehow spicy and it honestly ruined my night. The servers were really nice though.
Fresh Ingredients. Really Great Service. My husband and I weren’t a fan of the flavors. Dishes were over complicated but in a way in which made them taste bland.Ribs were definitely the best dish.A little disappointed but great hospitality.
We popped in here for happy hour. Lovely wine and the saffron risotto tots were fantastic! Definitely a must.
Upon arriving promptly at our appointed time (6:45), we were told by the hostess there is another party of four after us at 8:15. Maybe it is a common practice in Silver Lake area but in all of our travels/eating out, that was a first 🤯 Ok. We can compartmentalized that from the rest of our dinner experience. After all, we are here for the food. Let me be honest, Italian food hasnt been our thing for a long time. It used to be all we cook at home. I think we were hoping for a fresher take on Italian cuisine. Unfortunately, we didnt find that here. Despite the fact that it is the height of summer produce season, all dishes we ordered were BROWN, and a touch heavy on the salt. Preparation is superb but perhaps not suitable for a 82f summer evening in SoCal. Staff is great (minus the hostess of course). Our dinner just did have the right balance with the hot summer evening.
Craving for some good Italian, get a table for two. Service was very friendly and attentive (nothing like other reviewer mentioned) minimalist design and decor, simple and clean. We start with smooth delicious chicken liver pate, followed by tender octopus, just right amount of spicy ribs, al dente duck sausage lumache, all good but until acqua pazza show up, its just so far away from their Instagram picture (look like two different dish) and way too salty.Overall it was a great dinner.
Placed a pick up order, when got home the portions were ridiculously small, and the food was not good. Top it off, it was overpriced. Never stopping here again.
The most wonderful food and special wine, along with a kind and knowledgeable staff! Always a pleasure. Thank you!
The finest Italian cuisine is served at this restaurant. All is fine on the menu. The food is perfectly prepared. Single dessert is homemade. The waiters who served us were helpful and respectful.
What a wonderful restaurant and the best Italian food. We had many appetizers and they were fantastic. We also had a pizza and it was super crispy and flavorful. The green lasagna was so delicious. The best was the gelato with espresso. We had many desserts.
I wish all Italian restaurants tasted this good. Great food, good staff. Highly recommend.
The girl service is so Rudy and so slow for picking up order, just ask customers standing outside and can’t wait inside, ask them how long just tell you waiting, who’s the service the short with chunky girl, so disrespectful !Every restaurant can go inside whatever they are dine in or pick up food except your place, your retaurant made illegal policies to refuse someone to get in,I am not your food delivery driver not work for you,, i am same as other customers as picking up food!you understand why don’t you ask your dining customers standing outside eating, you can make that kind illegal policies against California law ! Try it
This is a high-end restaurant with excellent service, a wonderful Italian menu, and a warm ambiance. Thats a huge part of it. The black truffle pasta was absolutely delicious. Make a reservation for a table as soon as possible.
Been meaning to try this place for ages - ordered the Dine L.A. special delivery and it was amazing! The chicken sandwich and the radiatori pasta were both outstanding and the saffron risotto tots were divine. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Cant believe it took a pandemic (and a Dine LA special) to get us to finally try this place. Our only regret is not trying this place sooner!!!!!!! DELICIOUS!!!!
Small but well done menu, friendly staff.
Ive lived in silver lake for a long time and tried aliment for the first time tonight. Absolutely amazing. Probably one of the better pasta dishes Ive ever had... I look forward to more meals and dining there
Only book if youre certain youre able to make it, or face a $50 fine!I unfortunately will never get to experience the food at Alimento. The customer service, however, was very very poor. I booked a table for 2 through Resy two weeks ago and today had to cancel today due to a covid concern for my friend. I called and emailed the restaurant early in the day (giving plenty of notice) to inform them of this but didnt hear anything back. After several attempts I finally got through, cancelled and was assured I WOULD NOT be charged (as should be the case).Ten minutes later I received a call from another member of staff (Heather Rioux) telling me I WOULD ACTUALLY BE CHARGED $50 as their member of staff had made a mistake. She did not listen to anything I had to say, understand any reasoning for my cancellation, or even seem to care that it was indeed a member of her own staff who messed up. At the very least, if its your team who messed up, honor what they are saying and deal with it internally.Ultimately these people are in the hospitality industry yet clearly dont care about being hospitable, or supportive, or in fact care about you as a customer. Their main objective just seems to be to generate maximum money at all costs - in this case taking advantage of a covid scare.
A sensational meal is the result. We combined our lunch with a delicious Italian wine bottle.
Ordered takeout well into the pandemic, and this is one of the best meals Ive had in a while. So clear how much care they put into even how theyve placed the food into carryout containers. SO full of flavor. Incredibly satisfying. Im blown away that you can get this experience to go during these crazy times. This is now one of my favorite restaurants, and I havent even ever eaten there during times that you can eat inside a restaurant. What a fantastic job this team is doing.
The food and drinks came out quickly and the rates were affordable.
This is a hidden little gem that costs just behind a terrible amount of extra steeply priced Italian restaurants. I truly recommend it.
Tried this on a whim.. and loved it. Then I researched the head chef/owner and read that he came from Sotto - which was top notch on the west side. Im assuming the menu is condescend due to covid, but man, the pasta and gnocchi are are outstanding - and the sauces are out of this world. Ive been back four times in two weeks (theyre not open everyday). A must try for lovers of pasta, and fun and decadent food.
Try braised lettuce bruschetta or the white bean soup
The best Italian meal of my life ♥️
Delicious food. Lived the chopped salad, risotto tots & chicken sandwich. Take out was efficient.
This place rocks.Love to see radiatori on a menu. Will be back.
I LOVE this place. I love the fact that they have every sort of pasta and every sort of sauce in the world. They will make whatever you want easily. Also, I am a veggie and they never give me that, What do you mean you dont want meat look?I took off a star for it being cramped. Otherwise, this place is awesome!
Excellent hybrid-italian shared dishes for two. Can be loud and over whelming inside. Had my first disappointing experience with a rude male host and understaffed service, had to leave after 10mins and no acknowledgment. Hopefully that was just one terrible day. Other than that I go here 1-2 times a month.
Highly fair. Its a place to eat in a hotel, so it cant be compared to various stand-alone restaurants.
Quick service although we werent offered a lot of thinking discussing the menu time. Food was quick but more importantly DELICIOUS. So good, wed go back tomorrow if were could to try other things from their menu. Radicchio salad was my highlight, so unexpectedly good. Also its not a quiet place but its fun and simple but classy decor.
This restaurant gives great service as well as delightful food. The best place ever. The food and drinks came out quickly and the rates were affordable. I recommend this place.
Food is amazing. Cleaned my plate. Interesting menu. Our server was a delight as well. We needed lots of clarifications on the menu and our waitress knew her stuff and was super nice. Small place, warm atmosphere. Really liked this place.
I constantly come grabbing some food in this place. I love the speedy customer service and well prepared dishes. Keep up the good work.
I live in Spokane Washington (East side of Washington state for those of you that are geographically challenged) and when I found out I was coming to LA for business, I marked this on my must visit list!I went over the menu and watched a few videos about the restaurant and people’s perspectives and chose the tortellini pasta, and here’s why...I have a culinary degree and I always love learning about food. When I discovered they had a reverse tortellini here, I had to find out what that was like. Instead of putting the broth/sauce on the outside to coat the pasta, they put it on the inside. Interesting thought. FANTASTIC outcome! So you don’t get very many for the price, but it’s OH SO WORTH IT for the experience! When you bite into these little slices of heaven, they pop open in your mouth and an explosion of flavor just flows over your taste buds. You have to be prepared because they come out hot, but they melt in your mouth and they’re SO good!I followed that up with the chocolate mousse type dessert and it was very rich and VERY filling. It may SEEM small, but I almost couldn’t finish it and I didn’t even eat lunch that day. Ha!Anyway, well worth the experience! And I’d go back to try more if I had the time and the money! Maybe next time, Los Angeles!
GREAT TASTEFUL FOOD
Came here on a date and left very satisfied. We ordered the calamari fritti, a salmon pasta in cream sauce, and a pizza. all the ingredients were very fresh, especially the seafood, and the pizza was a very refreshing change to the traditional pizzas found in the US. definitely worth a visit.
Incredible food. Eveyrthing blew my mind. Every course was beyond my expectation. Please order as much as possible. Service is amazing as well. Love their house made soap.
A favorite location for delicious italian food. Ill return family next time. The bill was good for what you get.
Seems like a restaurant without a vision. Flavors and styles were a bit random and didnt compliment each other well (Vietnamese rolls as entree on an Italian menu?). Service was fine. Wine list was fine. Bench seating was awkward, putting those seated on it a good 6 inches lower and half-reclined. 🤔Not worth the money or hype.
Wonderfully delicious food, our host made phenomenal wine and menu recommendations. We had the chicken liver mousse, the chopped salad, the Gnoc, the tortellini, and the duck sausage pasta. They also have a great bottle of natural wine - Zorrettanera. Make a reservation for inside.
A fav location for delicious Italian food. I will be back with my friends. Prices are appropriate.
Food is amazing. Cleaned my plate. Interesting menu. Our server was a delight as well. We needed lots of clarifications on the menu and our waitress knew her stuff and was super nice. Small place, warm atmosphere. Really liked this place.
The drinks are wonderful, the staff is friendly, and the food is authentic Italian full of flavor! Always a fun time and always consistent.
Great local place for comfort food! Amazing service! We love walking down the street and sitting outside on a sunny day.
This place is amazing! The cured meats are to die for. I have never had a bad dish here. Service is attentive, personable and professional. If I could afford it I would eat 7 days a week, 3 meals a day here.
Fantastic food!! I will tell all my friends and definitely be back for more 😎
We picked this place on a whim. There are some really cool things to see in the store and pub. Service was good and there was a lot of items on the menu. We tried the Italian pizza and salad bar. The salad bad was good. Unfortunately, we did not feel the pizza was the best choice we could have made. We will definitely will give this place another go but will probably try something different. As for desert we tried their gelato and it was excellent!
Made reservations for 8:30 PM but they didnt have a table for us. We waited for 30minutes and nothing. I was really excited to try the food.
This place is truly a staple on I-5 in Northern California. The food is good and the portions are large. I dont think this place has quite the appeal it had before the fire a few years ago, but it is still a must stop.
Best part about my trip was the meals at this AMAZING restaurant!!!
Alimento has a lot of delicious food to choose from. My favorite is their scampi with marsala sauce. The staff are friendly and it makes you feel like your in Italy. I will definetely come back there!!
On top of all these delicious dishes, they even gave us a complimentary dessert! My friend had found a small string in her pasta (which most likely held some ingredients together), and the staff made sure the proper accommodations were made to see that she had a great time.
Definitely not one of LAs finest. Very noisy when crowded, so its hard to carry on a conversation. Food was good but tomato sauce on my lasagna was sub-par for an Italian restaurant. Good meeting place for young urban pros, and thats about it. Friendly staff. Valet parking was good.
Had a meatball sandwich and a Caprese salad. Both great. High quality mozzarella, fresh tomatoes and great meatballs. Its all about high quality ingredients & they have/use them. There is no seating inside but there are small tables a few chairs outside the front and back entrance, quite present if the weather is nice.
Great food but why does only half of the water fee go to charity? I feel like its such a small part of the bill that it should all go directly to the charity its supporting.
Good selection of pasta, cooked al dente; proper. Their tortellini in broth definitely shines, yet it would be sadistic not to mention the Radiatori, which is a perfectly balanced dish. What impresses me the most, however, is this restaurants indisputable consistency.
Great family-owned restaurant. Everything cooked to perfection and so flavorful. Words cant describe the experience.
Great place with lots of good food items to choose from. We ordered chicken liver pate, which came with perfectly done bread, chewy inside and crunchy outside. The pate was smooth and full of flavor, outstanding paired with perhaps fig jam and sea salt. The octopus salad was excellent, chunks of octopus was soft, not chewy at all, a little Smokey and good balance with the seasonal vegetables. The chicken sandwich was surprisingly delicious. I wasnt expecting much but the chicken was so tender, I thought I was eating fried fish fillet. The dressing was almost tartar sauce ish with less mayonnaise. Overall it was a great experience, and its less expensive than we expected.
The food is good but inconsistent.. we had six dishes for three people the beer and wine recommendations were not very good, first dish was great however the chop salad and scallops were mediocre, it seems like they hit on some dishes but completely miss the mark in others I dont mind then price but .. I keep wondering if the place merits it. I made a reservation for two and when I called back to change it nobody answered the phone and I called about ten times . The decor looks a bit incomplete .. Im guessing budget was an issue so again does the price merits it? You cant look hole in the wallish and charge certain prices. I really wanted to love this place like really really, definitely more hype than substance, service was good, place is extremely loud, lots of room for improvement, I want to give it another chance as I feel the identity is not there yet. However, next time it will be just my wife and I, as our guest was not impressed at all, hope you guys get there!
Wonderful dining experience. Small and quaint... Unusual dishes
Very polite to the customers, very rude to the delivery drivers
Interesting dishes that were delicious! Great service. Mark DiRuzza is a wonderful chef!
We Feasted!!! The food was fresh, well paired and flavorful. The staff was witty and friendly and we ordered 7 plates with crusty bread and Rozay until we were in a serious food coma. Best Eatery for Me so far as a newbie to LA!
Great food.....but do not try to go there more than 6 people...they have a weird policy to celebrate a birth day for more than 6 people. And 1 week to have a reservation...if you are lucky!
Delicious high quality food. A cozy place with gurrmet food. Good prices. 10 ⭐ place.
Small, intimate restaurant that offers delicious family style dinners. The staff is professional and provides excellent service. A great place!
I had such a great time here. The service is great and the food is awesome!
Italian food and service at this spot is excellent. it has a nice atmosphere.
First of the good, the food. We had the braised octopus which was delicious and the barbeque which was good but not worth it for the price. Which brings me to the one star. This place is way over priced, and really annoyingly priced. Let me explain. Overpriced = $130 for 1 starter, 2 entries, 1 glass of wine, 1 dessert. Annoyingly priced = $5 valet to park car in lot 5 ft from the stand, $1.50 per person for filtered tap water then some complicated nonsense about tipping both the wait staff (presumably 20%) and, separately, the kitchen staff (another 20%?). Ive lived in the neighborhood for 30 years and love what Silver Lake has become, including the many wonderful restaurants that have always been here or joined our community. This is one we could do without.
Great meats, salads, and desserts are delicious. Awesome service and great ambiance.
Unpretentious yet intricate plates and pastas. Cozy atmosphere. Wait staff anticipated every need and gave thoughtful recommendations without hovering. Go!
Pretentious and not veg friendly. Not into pretentious pork-eating Silverlake wanna be chefs.
Excellent food and great atmosphere. The tortellini is divine. And Im not a pasta person at all!
Very unusual Italian food with a crazy variety of ingredients.
Every dish was spectacular in its own way! Highly recommend this place! Will be back
Excellent meal w/ great service. Perfect spot for date night.
Mouth-watering Italian food, some dishes authentic, others with a California twist. Great service. Neighborhood gem!
I accidentally walked into Alimento on my way to get some sushi but boy am I glad I did!! Everything was top notch from the food to the service! I’d give it 6 stars if I could. I’ll be back Alimento!
One of my fav places for tasty italian food. nice place to relax, people watch, eat good, etc. the place has an awesome feel to it.
Lovely, bustling Italian spot in Silver lake. If you like Bestia in DTLA then you like Alimento.Top food options:- Pork Meatballs. Light and delicious. Order it!- Faro Salad. Hearty, tasty and exactly what you want in winter months.- Dungeness crab spaghetti. Very nice, maybe a tiny bit too salty, but overall a good dish.
I have been going to this place for 8years by far the best Italian restaurant in the city no other place reminds me of being back in Italia other then Mona Lisa . I have tried everything they serve from the best calamari starter to the gamberoni con cozze al san marino wow thank you and grazie Maurizio for giving me and my Bella a great authentic Italian place that not only is great in the fresh food but great service as well .
Some good food, some almost inedible, mediocre room, overpriced.
Wholesome no frills solid food. Service and foo up to par, def revisit
This restaurant is fantastic. The food was impeccable. The fusilli clam pasta and farro salad were out of this world. The wait staff was great and attentive. Finding a reservation was easy. We got a table at 7 but by the time we left it was packed.
Amazing pasta and wine, a true Italian feast.
Foods was great, serve was good, a little cozy so you might hear your neighbors conversation, but you could use it as a chance to meet new people!
