This was at the beginning of the covid pandemic so I am going to excuse a little of what the repair guy did. He refused to let us speak face to face, (even with masks) and took great precaution to not let us in the store or even let us out of the car. as I said, I will excuse this due to this being the start of the pandemic, the problems started when he tried to charge more than the computer was worth when bought new for a simple screen and plastic case replacement. He also did repairs that I did not ask him to perform and charged me for those as well (he cleaned my laptops fans and cooling outlets.) the problem was that he did the cleaning incorrectly and completely blocked my fans outflow. (i had no issues with the fans or overheating beforehand.) the damage caused by that has caused one of my fans to start failing only a year after the repair. all in all, would recommend going to a competitor. Edit- Forgot to mention that they also took my original charger and handed me a charger that was both incompatible and half the size of my original charger. (I had to use it anyway until the 60$ replacement came in. it was a lower power charger than the original so after 2 days the charger overheated and then promptly broke. Idk how they messed that up, original charger had a matching logo on it.)

Out of all of the computer shops I’ve been to, this is by far the best one. They helped me find exactly what I needed for my gaming rig and at a really good price as well. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone ranging from a beginner to well-experienced in the computer scene, this is an excellent place to go for any of your needs.

Beware. Dont go to this store. I took my PC in to simply see if they could save my files on a drive. They sold me a whole new system that cannot run the applications that are installed on it. They said they werent aware of the applications I would run on the system and now I will have to buy a whole new system to run those applications. This is not true, I told them time and time again that I edit film, that I run adobe, that I run databases and spreadsheets. They only needed to open the computer and look at the apps to see what I run!! They offered to sell me yet another system. They want me to eat $1k I spent on their supposed repair, and suggested I go buy a second system. All of the attention and speedy call back will not make up for their inability to assess a problem with a computer and deal with it with competency.

I turned in my computer for a damaged screen, they did a diagnostic and because I damaged it beyond repair, they gave me a huge discount because they wished they could have done more. Such nice people that they even researched a new computer for me. Definitely Lubbocks best computer repair shop!

Left my computer to be fixed and the problem wasnt fixed when I got it back. All they did was basically move my data do a flashdrive and format my hard drive, but my computer was still acting as slow as it was when I dropped it off.They are, however, very understanding and willing to work with you if you are on a budget which was nice.Make sure you read all the signs and papers on the wall as most of them have important info that they wont tell you about. One, for example, says they can sell your stuff if you dont pick it up within 15 days of it being fixed. I didnt personally run into any problems regarding the policies they have on the walls, but thought Id give a warning.Overall, they are quite professional and willing to work with you to come to an arrangement that benefits everyone, but in my experience I just ended up throwing away a good amount money.

They sold my computer behind my back and when I asked for my computer they told me that they have 2 weeks policy and after that they sell people stuff so I asked them how come is only now that I heard of that they told me that they cannot each of their clients so they wrote a note on a small paper that they put on their wall and the clients are supposed to read it. Dont bring your computer there if it is an expensive one mine was $1100.

My computer crashed! I called Akram to see if they could save my data from back-ups because although I did perform back-ups I never learned how to use them. The staff were excellent. They sold me a refurbished tower at a great price and moved all my data from the dead unit to the new one. Recently the unit said my Windows license had expired and I needed to renew. I discovered the unit had Windows PRO on it. I knew that version wasnt mine, so I called Akram. They were great. They explained the PRO version had been on the refurbished unit so I had been upgraded when they moved the data over. I dropped the unit off for a bit, they did the license renewal for no charge and I will be a faithful Akram customer for life. They are patient and take the time to explain how to operate technology to me, a technologically challenged person. I would recommend their service and products to everyone.

Sent someone out before thanksgiving to work on my printer. They use contractors to do house calls. The contractor that showed up was more interested in collecting pay than repairing my printer.i got home that evening and could not get printer to work. I called Akram computers back and they told me it would be monday or tuesday before they could get someone out. Tuesday midday Mac, called and said he was trying to get someone out. I told him I had already had it worked on by geeksquad and I no longer needed them .i asked for refund and he said he could not refund my money but that he would give me store credit. Please if you want your stuff fixed correctly do not call these bums...

Called and expressed the blue screen failures my PC was having, as up to 3 or more a day occurring. Was told that they would be able to fix this issue specifically, and that they could clean it up too, likely fixing problem, and freeing of any viruses as well. Asked for Zip Drive back-up, in case of hard drive crash, and nothing else.And my Asus was the top priced PC from popular chain electronic store here, and 26 months old, so freshly out of warranty there.After two trips taking my PC in, they never fixed blue screen problem, though stating it was working free of this at their shop, plus installed 2 unwanted malware anti virus of lesser quality in also charging me over 100.00+ for free versions, after no asking for these from me. And so after two trips there, my PC still immediately blue screened as soon as brought home both times. Plus they then started acting like they didnt even know what a Blue screen failure was, even with my cell phone photos and video of said issue, showing them it doing it. After another week of frustration, I hired another PC Repair to fix this and clean, as Akram hadnt at all, come to find out. And new service from other company found 2 Trojan viruses, and removed them, and in so doing, that there by fixed blue screen failure too, all in one afternoon. After seeing it completely fixed correctly with second repair company, I called owner, whom was very excessively combative over his non repair of my PC, and also talked down toward me, as if I were just needlessly giving him a hard time, but finally he stated he would call me back in 4 days, after talking to his Tech, and if there were need be, he would give store credit refund. I said that is not what I want, as service was so totally inferior, and nothing gained at all, cept for Zip drive back-up. After my being friendly at taking in and picking up twice, as I thought issue was fixed both times, before taking home, and immediately reoccurring of all issues he was hired to repair, as soon as turned on at home, without even logging in to ANY website. Plus he never even called to say he would do anything more, after the stating on phone that he would.I will never recommend his company, and feel very cheated out of my hard earned money, as he couldnt even remove the 2 Trojan viruses, as were what was the cause of the blue screen failure, as was all fixed after the week of frustration, and fixed by new repair company, quite easily by new company.In final opinion, owner is very quick to make false claims of success in repairs, and adding 2 unwanted anti virus malwares, in cheap versions thereof. Plus no returning call, as he promised by Wednesday of this week, and now 2 days late, without any call, so untruthful in that too. VERY DISAPPOINTED ***BUYER OF THEIR SERVICE REPAIRS, ((PLEASE BEWARE)), VERY VERY MUCH SO***!!!!

Was not upfront about the feesHe charged us 49.99 to put about 10 photos on a disk so he could wipe out our computer. When we told him we didn’t want the photos he said he would still have to charge for it. He talked so much we could not get a word in. We wanted the disk rom fixed and he said he didn’t do it but it would be about $200 more. He kept insisting on how he went above and beyond for us which was ridiculous. Discounts discount discounts are all he talked about and it was almost like sales at the store, they mark the prices up and put a sticker with a lower price. We will NEVER go back there again.

College student called from storefront so the guy could explain what was needed, when I asked questions, he got offended and “passed” on our business because of the “vibe” he got. Simple questions like, should he back up his computer before leaving it, how long might the repair take so we can plan for that, etc. Super hard and quite offensive questions, right? Ridiculous business practice. Stay away.
