Went to this store the other day and had an amazing time. The produce was super affordable and the cashiers were nice and helpful. Every time I’ve gone to this store I’ve enjoyed the service there. An amazing store, I definitely recommend this place to everyone.

I love this place I have a small version of it right by me. But I choose to drive right by it travel 3 miles further .The produce is always fresh the butcher sells prime meats the deli is very Italian the bakery is great. The prices are very reasonable each department is individually owed. Forgot to mention the fish market always busy but expensive .PS THEY SELL FLOWERS AT A GREAT PRICE !!👍👍👍👍👍

Rock bottom prices on whats normally very fresh herbs and vegetables. You do have to be mindful of what you pick as sometimes the stock is on the older side. Good prices on a small selection of seasonal things. In the winter they sell Xmas trees in the lot in the summer they sell plants. The groceries in cross island is no bargain as is milk or cheese, however it can eliminate another stop. This review is only of cross island fruits as there are independent vendors in the store including fish, butcher, baker, deli, and a card/convenience stand. Parking is fairly ample. The store is somewhat rundown, but not awful. Cashiers are young and frequently make mistakes ringing you up, rarely in your favor. One cashier was cleaning her belt when my wife went and the bottle of windex she used was on our receipt. Selection of fruit and veggies is excellent.

This has an incredible variety of produce and the prices are very reasonable. Unfortunately, the staff is beyond rude and somehow unable to help with pith some kind of snarky remark or complete disregard for your questions. This is not limited to the floor staff, the cashiers, the fresh seafood counter.You name it. Bitter, sour, and miserable staff from all ages and races. I rather pay higher prices than to ever visit this place at all. Good luck.

Great watermelon fruit best meat in long island

You have to shop here... get your wine making supplies in season, annual flowers, Christmas trees, etc. During the whole year they have an awesome produce department, and an amazing assortment of groceries that really will make stop and shop take notice. Friendly service, easy come and go. Worth the trip!

This grocery store has the best prices for fruits and vegetables. It has a huge selection, especially of Italian products. I also like its own little meat store within the general store. A must stop food shopping experience.

We go here several times week. Butcher, deli, and seafood department are great. The vegetables could be better.

Cross Island Fruits is one of my go-to stores. CIF doesnt have as big a variety as larger chain stores like Stop&Shop or King Kullen, but the low prices more than make up for that. You cant beat their produce prices, especially in the summer. Their meat department is clean and the meat is always good quality. Their burgers meat is the best. The same can be said for their fish department. Cross Island is the only place I go to buy flounder/shrimp for my annual NYE fish dinner. Their deli has a nice selection of Boars Head meats and cheeses, as well as many Italian brands. The deli clerks are nice and friendly. The bakery always has fresh rolls and cookies. Also, Cross Island is the only place near me that sells those freezer pops that come in a thick tube that you have to snap in half to eat them.

Whatever produce you buy eat it fast. I think they buy stuff on deals, a lot. I can tell a lot was repackaged. Good for quick eats and low prices

Until very recently I had enjoyed patronizing Cross Island Fruit. However, on an early morning in May (2020) I stood in a somewhat closed area at the fresh fish concession to make a purchase. A young employee of theirs past me several times (neither of us was able to distance more than 2 ft in the space). I reminded him that his mask, hanging around his neck, needed to be worn. There were 4 other employees present wearing masks. The young man continued to pass me without the mask...seemed like a taunt. I located the gentleman who I was told was the manager and he followed me back to the fish concession and noted the young man. He asked his employee to meet him in his office and within a few moments told me the employee was sent home. I thanked him but hoped that he would address the issue with all employees.My next visit was worse. After observing a customer remove his mask and lift some cantaloupes up to his nose to smell for ripeness, I noted an employee stocking oranges with his mask around his neck! I asked for the manager and was directed toward the office. This new manager told me he cannot and will not supervise his customers on the floor and insisted the unmasked employee (who he could not see from his office) was just resting. A woman came out and said, ‘He’s the manager and the owner and he does what he wants.’ They both told me I should not be out shopping! Needless to say I left without my groceries! Today I’ve become aware that Retail, Wholesale, and Department Store Union President says you are wrong! You, little old you, are FULLY responsible to manage your customers and employees use of masks!

Very Good Place to pi k up Groceries and meats

I normally dont have a negative thing to say about this place or the shops inside of this location. I honestly never give negative reviews. Today, a man wearing a confederate flag shirt was walking around casually shopping. I went to the manager to express how uncomfortable it made me feel. The cashier and other staff within earshot told me hes normally in the store every week and all he wears is confederate paraphernalia. The manager told me theres nothing he can do to help me since the other customer has freedom of speech. I attempted to educate him that freedom of speech was null when its hate speech. The manager told me he cant make him take off the shirt. I attempted to explain that its his responsibility to make customers and his employees to feel comfortable. The manager said, hell try to talk to him. Either you will talk to him or youre not... The fact that customer shops here every week, with that on, means no one has done anything to prevent this from happening.7/17 - I followed up at the request of the owner/manager - Im not sure if they were the owner or the manager on duty. In our call the he explained to me that he couldnt control what people wear in the store and the confederate flag meant a different thing in the past. When I asked him what he meant by his statement, he became enraged. He told me if I was uncomfortable shopping there I should not shop here and hung up on me. Youre right I will no longer shop here and I want to make sure other people know how youve treated me.

This is a great supermarket, especialy for Italians, for the great selection of their favorites products.

The prices are really good here. I usually get my meats, fruits, and veggies here. Very fresh food. In and out. The only thing is that you have to pay for meats in the meat department, the deli in deli in deli department, bakery in bakery department, and regular groceries in the front. Would be easier just to pay once at one register. Thats my only complaint, otherwise, I love the store. They offer canning supplies, plants, flowers at really good prices. Quality you pay for is excellent also.

Love it great selection of fruit great bakery and best meat. Oh and flowers plants too. I’m updating this review, I have been shopping here for years. Everything is still great . My complaint is about the Bakery (I don’t think it’s part off the store) but the last few months I have seen 2 different girls. Extremely lazy & unmotivated, people with that attitude don’t deserve a job. Plenty of people out there who are looking for work. The girl today also looked like a slob seriously clean up your act and do your job.

When you want quality produce, fresh seafood, and the best meat that money can buy, you should visit cross island fruits. My family has been coming here my entire life, over 30 years and its as good today as I can ever remember.

They have EVERYTHING that you need! The produce is always fresh and the prices are fair. Helpful friendly staff. Bring cash for the fish market, bakery and meat dept but you will not be disappointed. Seriously bad parking though! Wine making products available.

Most prices are reasonable. A mini grocery. Meats,Italian specialties,fruits and veggies and fish (tho the fish market in the back of the store seemed a bit pricey to me and the fish seemed not so fresh). During the spring/summer months, they carry a variety of plants,also pretty reasonably priced.

Great butcher

This is the best store in Lynbrook/Malverne neighborhoods. I can find fresh produce, groceries, as well as my favorite Italian/Turkish snacks. They also have fresh fish and meats, a bakery, and a greeting card booth within the store. They have barrels for wine making. Its a unique store.

Ive been going to cross island fruits since I was a kid! This place is amazing. Its a one stop shop! From their great produce to their seafood shop that has one the best lobster tails Ive eaten, tobthe butcher shoo that has top of the line meats with butchers behind the kitchen that are more then helpful! Whether its a huge party or a small dinner this place has everything you need for it!

Our local and fresh produce provider for our daily trips to this market for todays meal. They have everything you need and then some. Seafood is fresh as can be. Its like living near the sea - we can get what we want. Meat is fresh as can be. Deli is fresh as can be. Bakery is fresh as can be. Whatever I decide what we want for dinner, we get all we need there market fresh.

This is my go-to for several itemsprices on fruits and vegetables beat the supermarkets, and they have a variety of herbs and other produce conveniently packaged and priced rightthey always have pasta at a buck per pound even if its not on salethere is a meat department which is clean and well organized with a good variety of products and the willingness to customize like an old fashioned butcherthe bakery has always featured crusty Italian bread and other well priced items

Closing manager was yelling at a fellow young man co-worker at the produce department. He continued to yell in the back and resumed when he got back to the floor; a woman nearby was also upset due to the drama.Very unprofessional and uncomfortable.I really like shopping for produce here and other products. Unfortunately, I can not find my Hispanic products. They only carry GOYA. I also couldn’t find queso fresco (Hispanic fresh cheese) :(
