Ive been waiting a few months to write a 5 star review for Just Desserts. Its a wonderful local bakery outlet in a great location. Wonderful pies, coffee cakes, ice cream creations, soups and baked goods. We love the dinner rolls and coffee cakes. As one would expect there are lots of great Dutch treats to sample as well. Its always great to see folks bring their kids in the morning for donuts. The donuts are generally awesome although surprisingly the apple fritters (which cost extra) are something of a disappointment having very little apple and to date every one I have purchased needed to be microwaved before eating. Why the 2 star review? This week my wife sent me for donuts as she does from time to time. The selection was low which was very unusual so I only got a half dozen. Sadly, when served back home we discovered the donuts were clearly day old (at best) not fresh. I went out and bought another half dozen from the Food Pavilion. These have always been fresh although up until now not our first choice when Just Desserts is open.Well live. That said, had this been our first experience with Just Desserts they would have gotten a 1 star review. I can get far better product than what we were served from a grocery store. For a specialized bakery at BEST thats 3 stars so I feel generous at 2. Thank goodness we werent serving company bragging about our local bakery as we have done in the past.Of course we will eventually be back. I am sure the temporary loss of our patronage wont bust them.Hopefully when we do I can edit my review at some point and rate them at 5 stars as originally intended.Bummer!
Our family LOVES Just Desserts as its within walking distance and were ALWAYS greeted with happy faces!!! The donuts are the best (bacon maple bar and sprinkles are our favorites) and we enjoyed the option of the frozen, take and bake Dutch Apple pie!!! The updates are great, new take home options are perfect for later on and when we visited on the Re-Opening everyone in line had nothing but smiles and good cheer to speak of. Thank you for providing such an adorable small town business for the community to enjoy and love!
Quality has decreased significantly over the past year. Service has never been great, but the quality, taste, and freshness of the donuts was always worth it. That no longer remains the case.
Their cinnamon rolls are yummy
First off, I have loved all the different types of baked goods I have gotten from Just Desserts and the Dutch Bakery. I love that they are a local business so I enjoy supporting them. However, today their customer service, or lack there of has made me hesitant to return in the future. I saw that they have newly reopened so I stopped in to pick up two rice crispy treats. These were in the self-serve part of the store and there was a family ahead of me so I waited my turn and kept my distance. After the family ordered they sat down and I moved up to the counter so I could pay when she was ready. She didnt once acknowledge I was even standing there waiting, not a smile, or Ill be with you in a moment or Im finishing this order, than Ill be right with you. So for atleast 15minutes I stood there being ignored while she was making milk shakes for the previous customers. I understand she was busy, and that things are more difficult now, but a little customer service would have been nice. Finally, she finished their orders and gave them their food. Its sad that the customers before me were more apologetic to me for the long wait than she was. My two rice crispy treats and 1 minute transaction was hardly worth the 15+ minute wait and poor customer service that I received.Next time Ill go somewhere else instead of wasting my time on horrible service. Its too bad because their food is really good and usually their customer service is outstanding.
Great eclars and creampufs
Just absolutely amazing goodies!
After taking some time to remodel and sort out their products and services, Just Deserts just reopened. We went there last Saturday. Wow! The deserts were great! They have added a take and bake section with some of their most popular options. There is also a new feature called a Pile up....a fresh mix of quality ice cream and baked pie. Think DQ Blizzard, but with fresh ingredients! The quality of the food and service was high. The prices were appropriate given the uniqueness of the products. This 2.0 version of JD is worth a return visit if you havent been there since the reopening.
Everything is so yummy! The grand re-opening of Just Desserts had my favorites and new items we loved. The pie L ups were delicious! I loved leaving with split pea soup, bisquits and s, and chicken pot pie to heat up when I want. Love the new carry-out items! Thumbs up here!! And of course, my favorite Carmelita bar! I may have to try that in a pie L up!
Just went back after they were closed during quarantine for a remodel. WOW!! I LOVE the new menu and great options. I had the brownie pie-l-up (you have to try it) and it was fantastic! Menu very reasonably priced, especially considering serving size. I will be going back to try every other kind of pie-l-up they offer🤣🤣. Happily adding to my quarantine 15! Highly recommend!
Amazing treats, especially the pumpkin cream cheese loaf. Staff was incredibly friendly. Will definitely stop by again next time I am in or around Lynden.
Ever since the reopen I have yet to come in counter with a employee that had good customer service. Every time I have been into this establishment I have been treated as tho I am a burden and it is my fault that either their product was stale, or there wasn’t enough change in the till. No apologies or empathy for their own mistakes. Instead I get an eye roll or an attitude as if I did something wrong. I am having a hard time wanting to return, for the most part I love their products. However, their customer service ruins my experience.
Stopped by Just Desserts this weekend and it was amazing! The donuts and cream puffs were delicious! The staff was friendly, kind, and helpful! Looking forward to our next visit.
Lynden Desserts has the absolutely best pastries and desserts in the Bellingham area ! The staff is friendly and the service is exceptional.
Every time I give this place a chance to improve customer service it doesnt. I wanted to please a crowd with about a dozen items. The price is 12.99 a dozen. I asked for the 15 at bulk discount ea. They declined... a little common sense, even if I wanted 2 dozen, they didnt have them. So. I bought only the dozen. The original store nearby is cute, but this place is more convenient. Some nice things; I just hope the human side, the customer comprehension will improve.
Highly priced tasteless desserts.
Nice selection of traditional Dutch favorites. Good take out meatball soup. Friendly service by masked staff.
One of the best places to eat in Lynden! Great food and some of the nicest people. They make our small town proud!
Mmmmmm.....not a bad treat in the bunch!
Just desserts has taken a little while to find it’s footing, but with this latest re-opening, I think it has really found a great little niche as a business. We have always enjoyed their doughnuts, which although not cheap, are phenomenal and worth every penny. My kids are also major fans of their scones. The most recent additions have really got me excited, so rather than a doughnut or scone, we tried some of the new ice cream options. The stroopwaffle pile up and raspberry rhubarb pile up were ridiculously good. I mean RIDICULOUSLY good!! I thought the pie crust would get soggy mixed in with the ice cream but it doesn’t AT ALL - seriously so good!!! And it’s actually a very generous portion. Yesterday, we went back and bought cinnamon rolls and turnovers from the frozen section. I didn’t realize that the cinnamon rolls would have to rise for a couple hours before baking, although the instructions clearly say to let rise until double in size, I just didn’t know how long it would take. The turnovers could be baked immediately. But holy moly, both were amazing!! And having the option to have them fresh baked at any point is so awesome!! I didn’t buy any of the other bulk type items, but the bag of frozen cookie dough rounds and the bulk biscuits and shortcake seemed pretty cheap to me for the time it would save you!! Also, the new girls on staff were super friendly and sweet. Just Desserts has had a few bumps in the road, but give it another try!!
The cookie dough is to die for!
Friendly. Best drip coffee. My family loves the donuts!
LOVE Just Desserts and so glad you are open again. From your reasonably priced lunches to your authentic Dutch pastry, youre a favorite place for me. Saturday on opening day, I stopped in for a dozen Olie Bollen, authentic Dutch donuts. You had them hot and ready, and I brought them out to a work crew at Bender Field, working on the Rotary Park. When they saw it was Olie Bollen, they dug in a ate 1, or 2, or.... they loved them. So glad youre open, youll see alot of me.
A month ago I would be giving a 5 star review. It was one of our familys favorite places. We would visit weekly, if not more. The reduced menu is unfortunate but what sucks even more is now what you do have is precooked packaged then heated with a microwave. Breakfast sandwiches are not appealing now. I cannot order eggs on the side of my husbands buscuits and gravy. To top it off, there was a raise in prices for donuts. Oh, and all the awesome girls that worked there dont seem to be any longer, besides 1 that I have seen. There is a new employee that seems to be working full time and is, well, fine I suppose but eh...
Drove all the way out there and NO LUNCH!They need to update their online presence.VERY expensive donuts....
Great little bakery and deli! Very good sandwiches and baked goods!
So good! Cant wait till we are back in town!!
Very good treats, only probably website says it opens at 7am. Not true sometimes its 8 or 9.
My food was dry and gross. Since you got rid off Miriam I wont be coming back EVER!! And neither will anyone I know or talk to . Youve made a big mistake and your food sucks.
A great place for a donut and cup of coffee!
Friendly atmosphere
Delish!
