I went in the other night and ended up being $11 short for my purchase. The checker was being extremely patient with me and we were trying to figure out what to take off (I was paying with food stamps and had bought something that wasn’t covered) she asked her manager for an override. The manager, Shon, then handed her HIS PERSONAL DEBIT CARD to cover the cost!! I thanked him profusely and could not believe it! I have never experienced that anywhere else. A manager paying out of his own pocket when he could have easily approved an override and left me to figure out some form of payment or leaving me to leave items behind. It was an amazing experience. I already absolutely love this store and the employees; this made it that much better. Thank you Shon and my local Safeway!

I always get pretty wonderful service here at the registers. If I choose self-checkout, they always have an attendant ready and available for anyone who needs assistance. The store is easy to navigate and find what I need.

Because of the Covid-19 and the current puppet in the WH, the prices are still reasonable. The people are great and very nice.

I have grown up with a Safeway as my main grocery store. That will never change . I know where every item is, I just love Safeway.

Rotting produce surrounded by knats and lots of customers ignoring the state mask mandate. It was impossible to socially distance my children from them, as they clearly had no respect for personal space. From now on, well drive the extra 10 minutes to Bellingham, where people are educated and have personal hygiene.

Looking for a salad, I did not find one that look really good. Left empty handed.

This is my favorite place to buy groceries. They carry all the brands that I like. You get good quality Signature brand, at great prices. The employees are always cheerful n willing to help.

Clean, unfortunately minimal dairy-free and gluten-free. The flow is a little confusing as they have pasta next to fruits and vegetables and bread at the other end of the store. Juice is over by fruits and vegetables, with all other bottled beverage milk cheeses yogurt Etc over by the bread, for a smaller store. Dont know how other people shop but I would prefer to get my heavy items like cases of water or juice, dry canned goods, then refrigerated and fruits and vegetables then Frozen stuff but if Im getting anything out of the hot case last check out and leave. I feel like I have to ping pong across the store to do it in that order every time Im there. I think I have maybe had one other person besides the Starbucks Baristas ever offer a smile

Safeway has been taken care of me and providing the best produce, meat, dairy, and bakery products for the last 25 years

Great little local Safeway in Lynden. Has everything you could need from fresh baked donuts, pastries to wine and beer and sushi. The staff are always friendly and will help you find whatever you need. Even in these weird times during the pandemic.

I am not happy with them. They dont make people wear a mask while in their store. That means they dont care about the people that work for them. If people dont like to wear a mask while in the store they can go without food.

We love this Safeway. Staff is great, fruit is always top notch.

Most of the employees were real polite and helpful, except for a lady at the customer service desk who was really rude when I was trying to receive money from Western Union. Another lady was helping me when the rude morning associate manager came up and started yelling The sign! The sign! Cant you see the sign?! because theyre not technically supposed to do Western Union until 9 AM and it was 8:35 AM! Doughnuts are kind of expensive though.😕

I accidentally put in my phone number incorrectly, I told the checker and was told there was nothing she could do about it. I didnt get any of my u clip coupons, personalized deals or get to use my rewards that expire tomorrow. Nothing like a store that runs you through the hoops to save money and still manages to take advantage people at every opportunity.

Small store. Did not have most of the grocery items on our list. Lots of empty space on the shelves. I am sure it is because of covid affecting the supply chain.

It was about 4:00 pm . Very Busy! Wrong hour to shop. To crowded. Dinner rush!People not following Covid safety rules, going the wrong way down isles. Not keeping distance.However the store was well stocked. Mirror lay out from Bellingham Sunset store.Seems like a busier store.I think everyone in Lynden must shop here. Im sure this Safeway has put all other local grocery stores out of business.Also the town seems to have grown around this Safeway . Many more restaurants and businesses since my last trip to Lynden.I also felt the prices were good.While I was at the check out.My husband stood in line at the Starbucks with others to get a coffee but gave up as he said the worker seemed to have blinders on and had her back to the customers, not seeming to acknowledge them as she washed dishes.

There is no place better for decent food. Always a pleasure

Prices way to high . pharmacy one person tells you one thing another person tells you something else. They advertise about the covid shot 1st come first served you go there and they tell you you have to make an appointment. Then they tell you they dont have the jonson and Johnson.

We stopped by Safeway in Lynden, after dinner at Coconut Kennys, to pick up eggs as wed forgotten to pick them up on an earlier trip to a different grocery store. I was impressed with everything they offered.

Well stocked. Clean store, but carts werent cleaned after use when I was there.

Its the busiest grocery store in Lynden but the prices are the best so if you have time its where to go. If youre in a huge hurry opt for food pavilion. Easier in and out to quick grab a few items.

Ordered groceries on line for pick up. Safeway made it easy. Four stars as the produce ordering is a little confusing. It would be helpful to know if items are ordered by pound or number of vegetables (ie tomatoes do you say 4 for 4 tomatoes or for 4 pounds?).

Lynden safeway is one of the best locations. Whether you shop early early morning or during the busy hours everyone there is helpful. I have gotten to know quite a few people who work there and so its nice to have that connection when going through the store.

Safeway rocks in lynden, wa..my son had grand mal seizure while in the store. A young gentleman staff member helped us out to our car. He was very kind and patient as well as the pharmacy. Staff.

Very good store! Clean, friendly, affordable....unless your coming for anything candy! HOLY SMOKES! Im diabetic and need affordable sugar free products. Here in Lynden I can buy a small package of sugar free candy AT SAFEWAY, for about $4 bucks ooorr, I cand cross the street and get the same package of candy 🍬 the local $$ store for for A BUCK!! All the chocolate 🍫 and candy 🍬 products there are very expensive. This store is also usualy very crowded. Not a good thing at all during a pandemic! Yikes!

Great staff, reasonable prices, deli is standard but staff is great and helpful. Pharmacy is very helpful and fun. If you want something special they try to find it for you. If you have a problem they are very quick to respond and take care of you.

Its a Safeway: just like the others. But here in Lynden, it does have better produce than the other local supermarket. Green Barn produce is fresher, but more seasonal in selection.

I came in the store at night and the cashier was very friendly and made good small talk. At one point he took the liberty to clarify to me that he was silencing his phone and he indeed was giving me (the customer) his undivided attention which any consumer can fancy. I believe his name to be Calvin. This made me feel valued and important. Thank you Calvin ❤️ Until next time

Too many staff members not wearing masks or wearing them below nose or on chin. When I mentioned this to two staff members they responded rudely. Majority of shoppers not wearing masks. Ive been shopping at that store for many years. Now taking my business elsewhere. Too bad...good pharmacy.

They have some great variety of on sale items, as well as fruit/vegetables & meats. Be sure to check your receipt or watch as they ring your groceries thru, I have been charged a higher price on 2 items the last 2 visits ($8.00 total) if you dont catch it at the till like me, you have to take more of your time and go get a refund at customer service. To end on a positive, the staff were super friendly & efficient!

I was shopping late...in their way of trying to stick the shelves.. but they didnt blink an eye. Every worker I meet was super friendly and very helpful .. asking if I was finding everything o.k. And even my checker was super nice and helpful also.Much appreciated !Thank you Safeway employees
