OMG!!! I didn’t expect to find the fishing boat if my dreams when I walked into Semper Speed and Marine!! We recently sold our beloved sailboat because we are getting older and it was getting harder to manage… so we decided it was ‘my time’ for a fishing boat. They got my warranty transfer done and a couple warranty issues taken care of within a week as well selling me some accessories. Mark is an acquired taste for sure, but let me tell you, as soon as we got through the no BS outer shell, working with him for the past 6 months has has been one of the best experiences weve had with a major purchase.Im not an easy customer to deal with, Im needy, I want to know every little detail about everything, and I had an unending list of questions. Mark never once gave me a reason to think that my questions were unimportant and was always willing to spend the extra time to make sure I understood the why, not just the because this is how it is of an answer.Ill say this, if youre the type of person who prefers dealing with scummy used car salesmen, go find another dealership. If, on the other hand, you respect straight answers and can appreciate knowledgeable assistance from someone whos ultimately there to make sure you get the right thing, give these guys a try, in the long run, youll be happy you did.

Bought a boat from Mark Semper all the way from Idaho... he was excellent to work with and very helpful... made the process easy.After the fact, I had a warranty issue with stereo in boat, he sent me out a new unit right away... great customer service!

This is the only negative review Ive ever written and I hate doing it but I just cant help but share my experiences with Semper. From the moment that we bought our boat there we have felt nothing but disappointment for giving Mark our money. Unfortunately hes the only one that sells Monterey boats in the area or we wouldve taken our business elsewhere. He is dismissive, condescending, and is not a good face for his company. His staff works very hard to try and counteract the faults of their boss but even they know its an uphill climb. After trying to get confirmation of an issue with my boat which would literally take 30 seconds, the service manager and the mechanics were not able to walk out with me as Mark would not allow them to without charging me at LEAST a 30 minute service fee but more likely would be a 60 minute service fee. Imagine my surprise, I spent a good amount of money here between buying the boat and having it serviced here only to be treated like that. I immediately left and drove straight to Rons Marine which is where I shouldve started in the first place. Ron himself took the time to talk with me and provided great customer service. I never asked much of Semper but what little I needed always seemed like pulling teeth. The best thing that came of this is that I found a great new company to expertly service my boat for a very fair and reasonable price.

I have waited over 60 days to write this review. Let me start from the beginning. I purchased a used boat from Mark Semper in as is condition. He insured me everything would be checked out and boat test run. When I picked up the boat his cohort/mechanic had a video of boat reaching a plane at 60 mph. When I signed paperwork from office woman she insured me again that she wanted me to have a great day on the water and everything checked out. When I Got boat home that day took boat out and found that it would only turn 2500rpm and would not get on a plane. Immediately called Semper and of course no one answered phone or returned my message. Checked engine and noticed spark plug was hand loose. Next day took boat to local certified Mercury dealer and repair shop found the fuel line was completely plugged, the ceramic filter in engine was so plugged with sand that you could not blow thru it. Then after further inspection found that the ECU was not operating correctly. My mechanic also told me that the only way the boat would ever get up on a plane is if other people were sitting up on the bow. So clearly the video I was shown was bogus. I feel compelled to warn any prospective boat buyer to steer clearly away from this business. Also have not received my registration/tags still!

The staff is extremely polite and knowledgeable, if I have any questions about boating or different types of boats they are always extremely friendly and will answer any question that I may have. I would recommend this place to anyone if you are interested in buying a boat.

Semper is Awsome! Bought my boat there from Mark, knew exactly what I wanted and they had it there in stock. I bought a Alumacraft classic sport 165 for fishing, and they were the cheapest and I shopped around 5 different dealers in the state. So this year I decided to buy the factory Bimini top. Needed it fast but didn’t want to pay extra for shipping, ordered from their parts department, Genghis got it to me in four days! Again great service and better yet great prices.

My husband And I had been researching looking on the internet and via phone around Madera and Fresno countys after our boat head died out. We wanted something used and a good condition. On the other websites were completely farce. The pretty man by giving you a cheap average price on a boat but not adding in the insurance for the loan the boat trailer in the engine So when you call these people to talk to him they acted like you were wasting their time when their website didnt have any truth behind it. Semper Speed and Marines website with completely honest with the information compared to over the phone and in person. There is no lies no gimmicks no games. We met with Mark he was honest very approachable had a boat ready the entire process took exactly 3 hours from the time we left home to go and pick it up and then back home again. I read some of the other reviews and I see that people dont like actual honesty I guess they just want to be told what they want to know, And thats not just how the world works. We think Mark and the other employee members for not wasting our time for being honest and having a really good boat on their lot for us to purchase, thanks again

Mark, the salesman, was so helpful and nice. We didnt feel pressured at all to buy, and he was very personable. Mark stayed late with my husband and i on multiple evenings, showing us different options around on sales floor. We loved our experience at semper marine. Mark and the entire semper team made our experience exceptional. Wed buy a boat from them again in a heartbeat.

We had been shopping for a new boat for a few months, we were overwhelmed to say the least. We had an idea of what we wanted. WOW, this place has a lot o boats. Yep, its a boat place for sure. You can get one in just about any color you want. From a little row boat to a realy big one...one you could even live on. If thats what you want to live on. I dont have a boat nor do I want one. Not even real sure why I was there.

Boat a used boat from Semper and have nothing but problems with the boat. Have asked for help in fixing the problems, and continue to get the run around. No bilge pump was in the boat, almost sank the boat on the first time out. They shipped the boat without ballast bags in it, and then asked that I install them myself. Because there was no bilge pump, the engine compartment filled up with water and sprayed water on the perfect pass, which is now not working. The only thing I keep hearing from them is to Send in the boat to us, but I live out of state. This is totally inconvenient, I keep getting blamed for the problems, and no one wants to accept responsibility for what is occurring. I am a business owner, and if I ran my business like this business, I wouldnt be in business very long.

No help!!!! Walked in looking to buy a new mastercraft. My wife and I looked in every boat and still couldn’t get help. We were the only customers in there today. Went next door to Water Sports Fresno and got service immediately when I got out of my vehicle

I recently purchased a Tige Z3 from Semper Marine. The overall experience was extremely positive. Mark knows a lot about all types of boats and brands. He was very responsive to all our questions and provided a ton of information. He was honest with the information and listened to what my wife and I were looking for in a family boat. He made recommendations based on what best suited our needs and was not pushy in his approach. He allowed us to really dive into the nuances of the various brands and features as we explored his inventory.Once we decided on the Tige, the finance team was great at working with us remotely while we were back home in LA. They provided us all the required information needed to make this transaction seamless and were quick to follow up with us to make sure we were satisfied.When we picked up our boat, Ridge accompanied us to the lake to go through every technical and mechanical detail we needed to know or had questions about. He was patient with us through the process and very helpful. This type of boat was new to us so he made sure we were 100% satisfied before he left us at the lake. Ridge is the kind of guy you could surf or wakeboard with while you explore the capabilities of your new boat.After running the boat for some time over the next month, we ran into a minor sensor issue and Semper was quick to respond to the problem. They were thorough in their servicing of the boat and made sure no other issues existed.Overall, my wife and I are extremely satisfied with our new Tige Z3 and our experience with Semper Marine and the entire team. It is the perfect boat for us and our family. I highly recommend them as a seller and servicer of boats. In fact, my brother is now interested in a new boat and is planning to work with Semper to get him what he needs.
