My family and I have been to this store several times to buy things and have like it. Unfortunately we went in on 8/14/2021 and it will be our last. Staff at the store was making fun of people, being sarcastic and decided to put a sign on the door saying dont come in unless you want to be made fun of. Seriously!! No one deserves to me made fun of especially kids. Will never be back.

I love this store and the selection of items. If you are a movie, music, horror, video game nerd or etc. This place is for you. They have tons of unique things such as action figures, video games, comic books, antiques and more! The staff are always nice and willing to help with anything you need.

Just bought a few games yesterday at this awesome place. You could spend hours checking everything out . A nice staff, quality cared for products and a great experience. My only gripe is that I live more than 2 hours away and wanna come back ASAP and spend more time there in your store !

The first thing that I noticed about this store that they had a sign on their front door that read no crackheads allowed and make sure to reuse needles to save the planet. In addition they warned customers that they themselves will not be wearing masks. Inconsiderate and a distinct lack of empathy. Viruses are no joke, in pandemic nor in those exchanged via blood.

Super friendly staff. I felt very welcomed without having to wear a face diaper. I was treated as a human being and staff was very informative and helpful in helping me find the right games for my family.

Experience was terrible. Gentlemen behind the counter was unprofessional. I backed out of buying a collectors edition for resident evil 7 that included nothing but the music box which came with no parts for 150$. Gentlemen was nice until I told him I didnt want it. I understood it was inconvenient to take something from the case but it came with only one part to the overall collectors edition for resident evil 7 but not enough to justify being rude. I seen no signs saying it was incomplete either.

The wife and I enjoyed the place. A great mix of modern pop culture and antiques.

Best experiance I have ever had. Awesome stuff for anybody no matter what youre looking for. Great atmosphere and friendly service. Sean really knows his stuff so, he is great if you need help with pretty much anything.

My favorite comicbook shop. The owner is great, he really loves what he does. The staff are awesome too, theyll help you with anything you need and will always help you find the best deal! You can set up a pull list to pick up once a week or month for current lines too. Highly recommend at least stopping in to see the shop you wont be disappointed!P.S. -There may be other shops to choose from, but i promise you wont get the deals that youll get by shopping at MBST.

We went on a three day trip to Madison, and two of those three days we found ourselves shopping here. This place has a lot of charisma to it from their signs warning of bear attacks to its employees. The selection is cool from glasswares to videogames to film. The staff really strives for a friendly connection with its customers and a fun, laid back shopping experience. Loved talking about films with them at the register. We cant wait to visit again.

A rather bizarre mix of comic book, used video and videogame shop, and antique store. If youre coming for antiques, there are much larger shops in the area. For the geekier stuff - in a small town, theyre the best and probably only shop in town. For travellers - skip it, because you probably have better places near home.

Great small town store. Sometimes you can snag a rare item or two. Prices can be a little high sometimes but they try to keep prices in line with other retailers.... Staff are wonderful and friendly.

Great selection of second-hand gear for gamers, movie buffs, and collectors. All electrics, games, and DVDs are triple-checked for quality, and the owners are very knowledgeable and stand behind what they sell. My son and I absolutely love this store, and shop here often.

Place never looks open. I want to go, but dont want to waste my time. Done it before when they were supposed to be open. Always had good service though when I was able to go.I recommend calling to see if they are actually open before going.

I really like the selection of vintage gaming equipment they have available, and the prices on most items are reasonable. Some of the antiques and less common games are priced quite a bit higher than what you would pay online, but I suppose thats the cost of convenience if you must have a 25 year old video game sooner than the one day delivery options available with many of their online competitors.The lady working the counter was friendly enough, and seemed knowledgeable in her craft. Checkout was quick and easy!A word of advice though- bring in your console and ask to test any games you may want to buy, because I bought a defective Sega game and was refused an exchange/return. If it wasnt for this inconvenient return policy, Id have given them more stars.Update- my wife had the police called on her by the jerk at this store that thinks the one hour loading zone on poplar is exclusively his. That loading zone is for ANYONE loading or unloading- not just pencil necked geeks that cant lift comic books. After calling the police on us for doing our laundry, Im not inclined to do any business with this establishment. I wouldnt recommend parking illegally or jaywalking to get to this store either because apparently they are more sensitive about that than a 90 year old woman.

For collectors of different things its a cool place

I visited this establishment today and absolutely appalled by the owners treatment of a customer. The gentleman had several items in his hands ready to purchase when he asked the sales clerk about a piece of old money in one of the cases. He appeared to be very knowledgeable and even looked the item up to verify the value. The owner came up and the customer asked if he would take any less for the item. The owner was very condescending and stated that the item was priced fairly. The customer was polite yet stated the item was over priced by approximately $130. The owner was sarcastic and rudely told the customer he was uninformed. I was shocked! The owner proceeded to tell the customer that he owns the store; therefore, he knows the value of items he sells. He said he paid $200 for the item and the customer simply stated that he paid to much because that was the retail price. The owner told him to lrave and never to come back. The man turned and left the store. The owner proceeded to follow the gentleman outside to where he was parked and was yelling at him that he didnt know what he was talking about. The customer said you are a crook. The owner became completely belligerent and began using profanities and racial slurs including calling the customer a punk and white trash. This is completely unprofessional. There were other customers present including youth. The language was inappropriate and a very poor example of how we should all treat each other. I will be contacting the Madison Chamber of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau to report this business owner. I personally will never support his business and will share this experience with friends, family and coworkers. I am thoroughly disgusted!!!!!

Always a good experience..Always find something in the store you wanna take home with you!quite a bit of old or vintage stuff along with plenty of electronics and everything in between If your trying to sell items, he will be Blunt about what he is willing to give, no playing the back and forth game..Has always been fair to me.One of the best shops in Madison.

Decent place, however the owner ( the male one ) is very rude when asked a question, he said his answers are not free, hope that was just a bad day, either way he lost a very good buyer, I love antique to Vintage items & live to spend my money, I personally dont reccomend this place, only due to his very hasty & rude remarks, thats not a good way to run a business.!!!

Low ballers and when proved wrong they turn aggressive. Personally work for the person who helped them and do lots of business with, they had the audacity to say their shop would go nowhere....theyve been in business near a decade and have two main Street store fronts in two counties, looking to expand to TX. Unfortunately they were not open today, but a pawn shop across the river bought my item 3x their offer, 40$ more than my original thought.

Stopped in saturday i hadnt been able to get down there for a month or better and this place has turned into the funko emporium and the pricing is wright too definately the best place aroung here if your a funko fan and be sure to check in the locked case thats where the good stuff is i picked up the other step brothers funko i have been after thanks guys

Interesting finds, unique and a trip down memory lane

We come back to the Madison area a couple times a year and I always try to stop here and browse the records. They are the closest thing to a record store in Madison. They have a lot of other things too, mostly electronics, games, instruments etc. Overall it is kind of crowded but the prices are mostly fair.

These guys are AWESOME I had came in 2 weeks ago and got my son the starter pack for skylanders giants video game for Xbox 360 at a very good price and my son LOVES it and started asking for more characters I looked everywhere for them and couldnt find them but remembered that they had some so I took a trip down here and they where very helpful and even did some research for me to figure out which characters from other skylander games worked for my game then helped me find a bunch of them so my son will have more for Christmas and at a better price then where I found them online THANK YOU so much youve made a 9yr old VERY happy

I just was in here a few days ago bought original xbox replica third party controller got it home it was damaged took it back and shawn replaced it with another one shawn is really nice and a really cool laid back dude I also bought jade empire for original xbox that day I was in there which was awesome since it is a more rare game for the original xbox they have awesome rare games that you cannot find anywhere else and the prices are fair and affordable I would recommend this place to anyone its great jesus bless
