Ashton was the best server we have ever had. We moved to Wisconsin a week ago and are so happy to have discovered Cafe Hollander! Honestly, the best food and service. I highly recommend the cheese curds and the pretzel bites. Their cocktails are also fantastic. You can’t go wrong! Make sure to sit in Ashton’s section for the friendliest/best service.

Great place to grab food and brews. Located in the shopping mall with plenty of indoor and outdoor convertible seating. Fantastic food options. Good ambiance and service is great too. Parking can be full at times however short walk from shopping mall parking.

I’m so glad to live in Madison so I can come here whenever I want! The food is always great and I end up leaving extremely satisfied. Our server Moses today was attentive and kind, making sure we had refills and extra coffee creamer when requested! I will definitely be coming back

Brunch, bloody Marys and mimosas were spot on. Great menu with tons of variety for our whole group - A fun spin on brunch with breakfast tacos packed with spicy chorizo, 4 cheese + roasted tomato grilled cheese with a buttery crunch in every bite, to classic eggs Benedict, burgers and wraps. Great location, lots of tables with umbrellas to keep out the sun and a fantastic waitstaff.

Stopped in for a bite after showing houses and running errands. We were seated right away. Our server was Isabel who gave us plenty of time with the menu, offered suggestions, and kept our drinks filled. She was fantastic! The food was hot, delicious, and unique. I was intrigued with brussel sprouts in an omelet and wasnt disappointed. We will be repeat customers!

Consistently good food and great service. Cocktails can be hit and miss, but the beer selection is good. A bit pricey being next to Hilldale mall, but to be expected for such a location. One of our go- to brunch locations when we dont want to stray too far from the west side.

Great experience! A group of friends and I came on a Saturday for brunch and we had a great time. Theres a wait for a reason, but you can have a drink at the bar or walk around beautiful Hilldale mall while you wait. I highly recommend the Bloody Mary, mimosas, and the short rib hash. What made the experience though were the incredible bartenders. Thank you James, Ester, and Caleb for being so attentive, funny, and just the best bartenders. You guys are amazing!

Went in with my family for my birthday and had a wonderful experience on a Sunday brunch. Our server Dart was very knowledgeable about both the food and the drinks Hollander has to offer! Our food came out within reasonable time and everything tasted great. We hope to come back and visit Cafe Hollander soon :)

They have the best local drafts 🍻 and the food is delicious. Should try the fried meat balls with curry sauce.

What a great restaurant from the ambiance to the menu to the service. There were so many options to choose from- I went with the brewcity eggs benedict and it was delicious. The potatoes were as well. Everyone I was with finished their plate! And our server Moses was very welcoming and reliable. Will be coming back!!

Service was good but the food was awful. The mussels tasted like actual human urine and the baguette was totally stale.Update: they donated the cost of the meal to the humane society, so thats worth a disappointing meal. Hopefully next time will be better!

We’ve ordered brunch for takeout many times over the last year and it’s generally been very good. We recently went for lunch during the week and it was horrible.We were seated quickly but waited at least 15 minutes for a server to even come by. Service after that continued to be extremely slow. We were sitting outside in the sun and so I asked for a box for my leftovers so I could put them in the shade. It took over 30 minutes to get the box and by that time the food was gross from sitting out in the sun. I told the server when she finally brought the box that she could throw it away instead because it had sat out too long and she just said “thanks” and laughed and walked away.The table next to us was given the wrong bill and also was clearly very irritated with the slow and spotty service. Maybe they’re short handed but if so perhaps they should seat fewer tables.The drinks we ordered were also very watered down tasting. In general the whole experience was disappointing. I would not go back for in person dining again, despite its very convenient location. We’ll stick to take out.

First time trying this place and the food was great! A little on the more expensive side for a meal but the food was worth it! The service unfortunately was okay, it took well over the 45 minute wait to get a table and our server was less than friendly, didn’t really greet us or anything on arrival and it took a few minutes to even order drinks after first being seated. Maybe we will give it another try when in the area but we won’t go out of our way to visit again.

Had to check this place out after all the hype. The menu looked drool worthy. The service was adequate, the atmosphere pleasant. Presentation was very well done. But for all the hype, Im gonna have to say it was a pretty average restaurant. Id definitely eat there again (the tomato soup was killer) but I dont think its on my favs list.

We just moved to Madison a little over a month ago and have been to Cafe Hollander 3 times already! Ashton has been our server twice and she’s great! Very courteous and patient. The food is amazing and they have a really nice variety in their menu. We enjoyed the atmosphere as well. Thank you for making us feel at home in our new city!

Im visiting from Wichita KS, and went for brunch today at Cafe Hollander. I admit I was concerned what quality of service and food we would encounter. Our wait person, Lauren, was absolutely AMAZING! She was welcoming, attentive, patient, thorough, and truly a hostess. The food was incredible. All the staff we encountered was so friendly and polite. The young man who had the elevator ready for us....was brilliant! This place rocks and truly deserves more than 5 stars. KEEP IT UP!!

They have the BEST french toast I have ever tasted. Potatoes was very good. O never saw eggs that had season on them. All in all, the breakfast was delicious and wonderful. Our server was great. I really liked her.

One of our favorites for brunch. Delicious mimosas, bloodys, cocktails, and coffee drinks. Food has never disappointed! I personally love the Cinnamon Streusel French Toast as a go-to favorite!

Another fabulous experience at Cafe Hollander! The Sconnie and cheese curds are a must, as well as a Berried Treasure for those 21+. Dart is phenomenal and always makes us feel so welcomed and special. You can’t go wrong sitting in his section!

Always very happy when I visit Cafe Hollander. Food is always of a high quality. Very good beer selection. Ambiance and service is always spot on as well. This visit I had the Grand cafe club and it was very good and I would order again.

Some of my coworkers and I went out for breakfast after a streak of 3-12 hour night shifts. Moses was our waiter and he did an excellent job. He tolerated our over tired group and provided great customer service. He even indulged us when asking if he knew what an egg dipper was. Thank you for the fast friendly service and for being open so we had a place to go to relax after our long shifts at the hospital.

Wonderful place with fantastic breakfast items. We ordered the Pretzel breakfast sandwich and another one that had avocado, both were outstanding. We want to return to try other items on their menu.The place was packed for brunch so you have to be prepared for slower service. The food took a while to arrive but it was worth the wait. We recommend this place for brunch.We will be back to this restaurant on our next trip to Madison. We would like to see how their night life and dinner items stack up to brunch. Its rare to find a combination of amazing food and service, but Hollander has both. Our server Aston was knowledgeable about their extensive beer and food menu, and with such a great attitude and fun atmosphere I have to say this is one of the best spots in madison.

I ordered the hot mess, which was supposed to come with two types of sausage and over easy eggs. Instead, I got over-hard (see pic, over easy eggs shouldnt be Soo solid you can pick up the yolk with a knife....) And zero sausage.Although the meal was nothing like the menu description and missing any attempt at including sausage, after waiting about an hour for food I ignored the fact to not further de-rail fathers day brunch.Other meals at my table were similarly wrong, but we all looked at each other and ignored it to avoid disrupting the day even further.

Got a plain grilled cheese and there was meat inside do not recommend for vegetarians

I’ve been to Cafe Hollander several times and always enjoy my experiences! Their non-alcoholic beverage options are delicious and makes brunch fun even for non-drinkers like myself. Their beignets are to die for! This time my server was Moses and he was friendly and attentive.

The food and the service were excellent! I had the eggs benedict and potatoes. The potatoes were phenomenal, very well seasoned! I asked for ketchup but never used it! They were that good.

I love coming here for breakfast with my coworkers after working 3rd shift - the food is so flavorful and satisfying, plus the fancy mimosas and cocktails are super tasty. Our server this time, Moses, was very accommodating and put up with our sleep deprived antics. This is definitely one of my go-to spots for breakfast in town.I just wish they had a hotter hot sauce available lol

Kate was absolutely amazing last night. Our daughter has Celiac Disease and she went above and beyond to ensure the cooks knew but also made our daughter feel very comfortable by sharing she too had food allergies. Had a wonderful brunch at the bar. Brandon took great care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. I will be back again to see him at the bar, definitely bringing friends with me next time. We took out of town friends to Cafe Hollander after the Badger game. While there was a wait for a table, we found seats at the bar. All three bartenders were attentive and friendly. In addition to a GREAT beer list (served in glasses specific to the beer style), our appetizers were also great. The Bloody Mary offerings were also enjoyed. Our friend enjoyed the overall experience so much, he bought the bartender staff each a drink to enjoy after their shift! Thanks Cafe Hollander for working through the Covid times with a smile ....we couldnt see it 😷, but we felt it!

This is a pretty good brunch place in Madison, and the best on the west side. Its almost always busy, so be prepared for a wait.The food is excellent -- especially the French toast. They also have pretty good mimosas; I tried the berry option -- excellent! Their chocolate waffles are also outstanding.The service is pretty good as well, especially considering how busy they are. Overall an excellent place for brunch and then shopping at Hilldale.

Today we had a family brunch to celebrate a birthday. Our server Lauren was Amazing!! She played a game with us that ended with a surprise birthday dessert, consisting of a mouth watering peacan pie! Wow!!! I just had the best salad ever (Chicken Chopped Salad). I am not usually a salad eater, but when I saw it arrive at the next table I knew I had to try it. I didnt even add any salad dressing. The food was great, the atmosphere was relaxing and my server Mary was very nice. I cant wait to go back.

Ive always enjoyed eating at Cafe Hollander and this location was no exception. The restaurant always has an open, free feeling atmosphere with beautiful decor. Its unlike any other restaurant. I ordered a medium-well done bacon and cheese curd burger and it was the first time a restaurant had nailed those unique cooking instructions. It was a perfect medium-well with just a slight bit of pink in the middle, I was honestly amazed. The servers were great and overall it was a wonderful experience.

We ate here twice this weekend and both meals were fantastic! It can be a bit of a wait to sit on the patio but it is worth it. The meatloaf is very flavorful & the steak vegetable hash today was excellent. We like the Milwaukee location too.

The food is decent, a good variety of choices as well. Huge beer selection. Good atmosphere, rooftop in warm weather is nice. I gave it four stars because almost no restaurant is worth five. But for the price its great and the staff weve delt with were all friendly.

We came here for brunch and were able to sit outside. Their patio is perfect for an outdoor brunch, tables spaced out and not too crowded. The food was delicious and our server, Kate, was so friendly and kind! We really enjoyed our experience and will be back!

There are stories that the service has gone down hill but that was not my experience. we had a trainer and trainee as wait staff and they were both excellent. they took time to recommend their favorite sauces, and food options. the beer was good and the view from the upstairs outside patio is very fun. we will be going back.

Food is heavy and unhealthy. My husband felt sick after his salmon dinner and he usually has a very strong stomach. I couldnt finish the two appetizers because both were deep-fried. Who knew brussels sprouts had to be deep-fried?! The beer was good but the food items are either fried or rely too much on cheese sauce as an ingredient. Next time, well go to Great Dane up the hill.

I was blown away by this restaurant in Madison, Wi. Ive been in the service industry for 24 years and this place is exceptional. Its clean, organized, and the space is beautiful. The service has been great both times Ive been there and the cheese curds might be the best Madison. I wish I lived closer so I could go all the time. Check it out, youll love it!

The sangria was delicious and a novelty taste and service was good. Everything else was poor. Our fries were floppy and barely warm and my burger was weirdly bitter. Not impressed, especially at their prices.

Our food and drinks was so good. Fries are always the move. I loved the Dragonberry Daiquiri! Kate was our server and she was amazing! Kate was so sweet and funny. She checked in frequently and made sure we always had what we needed!
