Siera, the store manager, was terrific. I have never had such a great experience with an eye exam and searching for the right glasses. She went above and beyond to help me. I will definitely be going back to Shopko East Madison again.

Good service from the eyeglass fitter but a bit rushed by the optometrist. You want answers. You want to understand what they are doing and what your future eyesight might be. But you get rushed through the process to buy the glasses and new frames. Could be improved.

I’ve ordered contacts here prior to ever scheduling an exam and the staff member was extremely helpful in assisting with ordering the contacts that fit my needs. I decided to book my next eye exam here and was happy I did! Staff was prompt, courteous and went above and beyond to assist with fixing me up with the correct frames and prescription. I was beyond impressed with their professionalism. Highly recommended!

My eye exam was thorough and complete where the doctor and I made the best decision together for the set of contacts for my eyes. I was please with the amount of dialogue we engaged in. I marked one star down as the selection of glasses was incredibly dull. Otherwise I will be back next year!

Shopko optical has great staff, very friendly, knowledgeable. My glasses generally are back very quickly after ordering them.

I wish I could remember their names but the lady who handled my appointment and another lady who was giving me bomb advice on my lenses - I hope y’all get nice raises and a promotion because you ladies rock! I had a great time picking out frames and the service was fantastic. My entire appointment from start to finish took about 20 minutes (whooooo!) I will definitely be back!

This was my first time at the new location. Everything seemed rushed from the eye exam to the choosing of frames. I was only shown 2 pair of frames that my insurance covered and really pushed to buy designer frames in addition to those. The designer frames have already stretched out after only one week of wearing and will need to be adjusted or repaired. I much preferred previous visits.

Of the three pairs of glasses I had made only one pair was wrong; the insurance company pair. It was to be an inexpensive single vision pair but instead I received trifocals. No effort to make it right has been offered.

The staff were so friendly and helpful! The service was quick. Followed covid protocols and the store was clean. They helped me find glasses that would fit my small face :) they even laughed at my jokes!

Everyone is professional at the store. The Appointment was on time - there was no waiting and we had a great conversation with the Dr. We had to start out 9 year old with glasses and the appointment went very well with him and we were able to choose glasses he likes.

Dr. Bret Ammarrel has been my eye dr for many years and always does a great job. He is very thoughtful in explaining things. The staff have also been very polite and helpful.

I have been in glasses or contacts most of my life. This was by far the best eye doctor I have seen. He adjusted my prescription to the best I have seen in years! He had a great personality! Staff was all very professional and helpful!

This staff is terrible. I was told that they were apart of the network and found out it wasn’t. I also told staff that I used my benefit elsewhere and hoping to get discount from it being in network. Even thou I told the person taking care me of using benefits at different business still tried running my insurance and said there was a deal about a second pair of glasses. I ordered both sets of glasses and paid for them thinking I’m all good and on my way. I got a bill from the insurance company and I took that letter and second pair of glasses back. Oh they were going to take care of contacting the insurance company and returned my second pair. Then I get a I owe letter from Shopko stating I still owe more money! I was told they were going to take of this when I was in the store. Again I told Nicky about the used benefit used elsewhere,computers were down the day I was looking. Nicky has continued several times the Situation and promised it was going to get taken care of. But nope it continued not to be taken care of the way I told it would be. Nobody knows their job and gives false information! So the manager thinks this is a made up story and tries to twist it around! I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Our family all come here to Shopko Optical to get their eye check ups, frames and lenses. The eye doctors are both great Bret Ammeral OD in addition to the other staff including Samantha, Karol, and Alexia.We have had help and attention from them all and they were fantastic. This time I worked with Samantha and Karol especially choosing frames, lenses and what the financial break down would be and the two of them were so helpful, professional and kind in their manner and regard.The customer service, care and overall prices, quality and value is outstanding at this location. We highly recommend them.

Meh, it wasn’t necessarily a bad experience. But it wasn’t really all that great either. Their website claims to accept VSP insurance but they are an out of network provider and their servers apparently cannot gain access to your plan even with giving them your plan info and so on. Went there for glasses, left with a prescription and a $25 charge for an eye exam. On top of that there was the usual upselling (you know like if you buy a years supply of contacts you get glasses for 1/2 price). VSP will reimburse you, but I have to go through the process of filing a claim etc... Otherwise the staff was friendly enough but you don’t want to be wasting your time here if you have VSP insurance and you can’t gain access to your benefits. I’m trying to avoid going somewhere and not getting services during a pandemic!

Have been a customer of shopko optical for several years.That will not be the case anymore went in for eye exam the person who waited on me had the personality of a rattle snack . I have insurance and she said I had to pay for the exam up front and they would submit the bill to my insurance because it was probably my deductible. I asked what would happen if my insurance paid it she said I would have to talk to corporate to get my money back Im am very mad about this do not recommend them to anyone and I will never go back there.

Dr. Lance Engdahl is amazing! He is very friendly and does great work. All of the staff made the visit enjoyable and were incredibly helpful. They got me in right away and I never had to wait around the entire time. They made sure I was taken care of the best way possible while stayinf in the parameters of my insurance. Melissa was great as well! Will definitely be going back. Highly recommended!

The staff and doctor were great. However, the cleanliness and sanitation concerns me. They did not use a protective sheet when I had to put my chin on rests on the machines. I also did not see them or the eye covers get sprayed down prior to me using them.

Very Busy and disorganized. They schedule a time for you to come and pick up your glasses, but then you stand by the door 10 - 20 minutes anyway. The location is kind of sketchy also. The glasses and fitting were decent though once I got waited on.

We love going to our local Shopko for deals. Theyve even honored sale prices when weve come in a couple days early. Great service and a fun selection on home goods.

I happened to be in the area due to my Father having a surgery at the UW Hospital. My glasses were repaired the day before and while there one my lens fell out of the glasses again. Without my glasses I cant see a thing and felt strange. I am a Veteran and was driving by the store and stopped in to see if they can help. The technician worked on my glasses for about 40 minutes and fixed them for me for free. Thank you Shopko Optical for coming through for me. Friendly Staff and Professional Service. Rough experience. Staff needs to be trained in customer service and proper procedures. No protective covers were used on the machines. Unprofessional people. I was so excited that Shopko decided to keep their optical locations open until this visit.

Shopko Optical could not have been better. My cat had chewed up my glasses ear thingys and they fixed em better than before the cat worked em over. Fantastic customer service!

The most incompetent bunch of people I’ve ever dealt with. Every singe time I need contacts (every 6 months) they magically say I need an exam and try to charge me $55! Sarah is the least personable person to work with and I would give her -5 stars if I could! No wonder they’re closing, best of luck finding jobs with your manners!

A very laid back place. Basically a subway, but for pizza. The mini pizza is the perfect size for me! The pricing is pretty good too. Its not too busy, even at 6 on a Friday night.

Not great! Store closings are nothing anyone wants to see happen but they are closing almost all of their locations. Sad, I liked this store. Prices were ok its ticket price then the store closing price. Their ticket prices are very inflated to begin with so this store closing prices just makes it their sale prices. I didnt see really any deep discounts when I was there.

I stopped in at this store two days in a row, in case the first day was short staffed, but same situation both days. Many items had no price signs or price stickers. Some sgns said SALE but no prices. No one available to ask about prices in Garden area. I had to fill a shopping cart with items, wheel them down the side walk (jumping down a curb to get around another shopper) and into the store to find out the price. I couldnt buy large bags of potting soil because they were completely uncovered, therefore drenched by rain and weighed several times what they would weigh dry--probably 50 lbs. Not possible to lift in and out of a shopping cart and no flatbed carts provided and no signs suggesting staff available to help. Not sure how staff wearing their required khaki pants would have been able to help with wet bags of soil or compost anyway! No trunk-protecting plastic available for bagged goods or plants. I will not shop here again. The store had almost no customers, so only one register open when we arrived. Not sure how they stay in business.

I dont know how they stay in business. There is no one there! I went there and they had what I needed. The lady working there helped me find it right away. Better customer service than their rivals. Its just too bad to see the place empty.

Worst online order experience ever. My order came back as canceled in my email with no explanation. When I called the store to find out what happened the woman was really rude to me. She practically yelled at me and acted like I was annoying her. There was no need for that. I was polite to her.This is my 2nd awful experience ordering here. Im done shopping here. This used to be one of my favorite places to go. Now everyone is just nasty to me.

I went in to get some information about my customer loyalty number and was interrupted by a phone call from my family on an emergency situation . I explained that to the customer service rep. I asked the customer service woman, to please wait and I step sideways. Then shes like, what can I help you with? And I said that I need a minute. She was being very disrespectful and rude and so I stepped aside so she could help other customers. Then she was being rude to that woman as well.the other cousin was asking about to senior citizen discount and different sales theyre having coming up, and she was being really rude when she tried to answer questions. It is probably not the best thing to put someone, whos not a people person, at your customer service window. Food for thought. By the way, I never did get my customer number from her.

If you bring your coupons and use the free loyalty rewards program, you will find that you can get some amazing deals here. The staff is quirky and the store is not very busy; however, the staff are not rude to you, and the emptiness of the store is something i kind of enjoy. The selection in electronics could use some upgrades, but the selection for clothing is top notch and well priced. Highly recomend this store over a busy target or wal mart.

This has generally been a pleasant shopping experience in the past but on my most recent visit there, the womens clothing department was a mess. No cohesiveness to their merchandising at all, and clothing racks and displays were messy. And this was about 10am on a Saturday when the store was not busy. Also I have historically purchased most of my hang plants at Shopko for the summer but this years selection wasnt as good as previous years and prices were higher. I ended up getting my potted plants from Walmart on Nakoosa Trail where the selection and pricing were better.

Prices seemed to hve been jacked up N now are all on sale for their closing. Prices were good before N it is sad to see them go.

Store always seems cluttered and never seems to be staffed. All the prices are outrageous. There sales are most of the time higher than any other store in the area. There electronics section is a joke and should just be removed. The clothing sections are messy and disorganized looking. The shoe department always looks like someone tried on 20 pairs of shoes and then decided they need to be thrown to the other end of the aisle.

Great customer service, prompt, answered questions completely. Id recommend Shopko Eye Care Center to everybody.

No wonder this place is closing... Saw the same tv at Wal-Mart for half the price and at Shopko they had it marked down 30%. Furniture looks better quality, but not the inflated price tags...

Good for quick stops, but not much in the store. Its probably a good place to keep getting deals as I dont see this one staying open either.

Shopko is Shopko, it didnt have the couch or chair we wanted, we had to have a rain check, plus the cashiers make you feel theyre doing you a favor, instead of strong customer service skills friendly, helpful a 2 star...thats why we rarely go to the store.

I shop here with my mom, even though I moved, anytime Im back in town we go here and I always find a good deal.

Very few customers so, leisurely shopping experience, but like shopping in a vacant big box store. Lights are dim and dingy, just eerie feeling.

They just opened a Goodwill in this strip mall its not as big as the east side location or the west side location. this one is comparable to the south side location ( the one next to super Walmart on southtown drive) anyway not much in the way of furniture I have found a few good deals on some electronics here though. besides the goodwill there is a true value hardware store a few good restaurants, if you like Mexican I would recommend Habaneros. Its really good almost everything they have from huge burritos to their 4 taco deal is all around 6.25 and its really good especially for the price and the amount you get. there is also a willy street co-op. if your into organic, locally grown, vegan or vegetarian food thats where you want to go. I would personally go get a steak burrito instead though.

The prices they have thru Monday are PHENOMENAL!!!!! My daughter played the claw machine and SOMEHOW got a tag of a stuffed animal (animal still attached of course!!) Wrapped around the screw of the claw, and it was just STUCK hanging there....so she had an idea to put .50 more cents in, push the button with it over the drop hole...at which time I reached my arm up as high as I could through the doggy door (which is designed to STOP people from reaching up in it!) And snatched it off the screw as it reached the bottom. Perfect timing. And all tears of course were immediately replaced with laughs and smiles and thank yous!! Customers and workers were very supportive trying to offer suggestion, none of which were feasible but HEY, they still CARED lol😉😊
